Okay so I just saw in a feedback thread a post from codemonkey saying he's in the home stretch of the housing updates before they make the switch to a Towns 2 only world on Gaia. Lately, we've been busy with our lives and spending more time in streams that Towns has become an empty place. While the streams are nice, it feels like we should be giving original Towns a proper send off. What we need is a proper and good old fashioned post Rejected Olympics Towns blowout where we spend half our day just hanging out in Towns having a blast saying goodbye to the place that gave birth to our guild and brought us together as friends. Plus, it would be nice to have one final goodbye to our favorite square with our favorite tree. So who's up for a proper Towns get together to give it a proper goodbye before it becomes too late to do so?

Actually, It might be very cheesy, and some people would not be able to handle it, but there's a site called "Synchtube" we could use where you can add youtube videos to for a group of people to share and it plays them at the same time, and you can add remove vote and shuffle the list so we COULD technically have a DJ thing going on here. Up for anything, though, sentiment works too.

Let's make it one to remember...because as sappy as this is..I'm getting emotional that Towns 1 is going. I've had so many good memories there, and Towns 2 just won't be the same. Honestly without original towns, I wouldn't have met a lot of the people I did on gaia. Plus what about all the good times with the guild we had? Per my own personal request, I ask that no one streams that day..just because I truly want to have a day that we can just enjoy each-others company, laugh, and chat for old times sake.

Yes it would be right for it to not be a stream day so that we can reflect and enjoy the final day of Towns 1 as a group before welcoming Towns 2 in our lives.

I'm going to be fair and give some input here as well. Though many of you might not like me or might enjoy my company, we would not have met if I never met Kayla. Me and Kayla met in towns after I randomly got invited to a Skype call for just sitting next to them. There's a lot of sentiments and feelings that go back to the towns for everyone, each being different. Think about how many people, outside of just our guild, have come together, some as lovers <3, some as friends, gaia families etc, because of towns. I don't think you guys should put it as towns is dying, because it's a true place that will always remain in all of our hearts, in everyone's here on Gaia. Especially since our houses are there, and with that said, Towns 1 will forever be our "Homes". <3 We all really need to come together on this one, group hugs all around and get this set up and those announcements rolling. heart emotion_bigheart emotion_hug emotion_bigheart emotion_hug emotion_bigheart heart

My god Towns is full of good memories for me. I remember the days when people relied on Towns to help them earn their gold for things on Gaia. That was back in the days when the uppy downy dance was a regular thing and people would turn themselves into frogs, toads, or turtles to hide behind bushes, rocks, and trees to spy on people doing the virtual nasty and follow them into their houses or whatever house they happened upon and freak them out with random chatter from their secret hiding places. It was a place where simply being hugged and followed by a Bum would make your entire week. A place where having a colored name, for any length of time, would turn you into the most popular person around. And it was a place where you could recreate the infamous Baby Ruth pool scene from Caddyshack every summer for the past six summers since they introduced us to pools and their two special emotes.
I'm going to miss you Towns and a right proper send off is in high order.

The announcement is up. What I have in mind for this 'proper sendoff' is that from now until Towns is shut down, we spend time together in our usual spot. (It slipped by me to include it in the announcement... sweatdrop ) It doesn't have to be a major hangout event, not yet. Once we get more information regarding exactly when Towns will be shut down for good, a date can be made for our major hangout. At the very least, however, I would like everyone to spend just a bit more time in Towns together. Not everyone can be made aware of when a stream is going on, so not everyone can make it into a stream. Towns is the easiest way for the majority of us to get together so that's the plan. And as we get to the last days of Towns (more than likely around the end of the month) I ask that nobody streams. Instead, we can spend time together in towns for one last time.
