The small and freshly hatched Keinling nuzzled around in the leaves below her clawed feet. Goo clung to her wings which made movement even harder than it already was with her clumsy and untrained muscled unable to hold her up for long. Small bugs in the ground entertained her while both of her parents where out hunting for a fresh meal for them to eat for the dinner. Her siblings were playing not far off strange games of tackle and Kioda was the least bit interested in those silly games. Feeling a twinge of embarrassment Kioda moved to sit back on her haunches, her tail wrapping back around her body.
Something off in the distance sparked the young hatchlings attention as her muscles reacted instinctively. Curiosity pulled her towards the strange movement of something unfamiliar in the distance, something at the back of her mind screamed she needed to stay near the nesting area but there was little holding her back near her siblings. Her tail swishing behind her like a playful dog about to get into the best game of chase in her life.
A soft wind blew through the tree's as Kioda chased a small butterfly around the trunks of the tree's. The sunlight felt good on her flaking hide, the strange scent on the air drew her curiosity in yet another direction. Turning her head in the direction the small creature sniffed noisily.

Grrel was back from Eowyn and enjoying the cool winter air on Serenia. While this section of the forest wasn't snowed under, it was still chilly. She sauntered arrogantly through the forest, her mind caught up in the lessons her family clan's shaman had imparted to her. A glass orb filled with fuzzy brown and amber mist hung upon a thick golden chain around her neck. The chain was loot from a dead body she'd found in the desert after receiving her bottled dream.
Even though she was lost in her thoughts, she remained aware of her surroundings; and a good thing too! Bounding towards her was a small green Keinling; engrossed in chasing a butterfly, it would have run right in to Grrel if she hadn't stopped. From the goo that still clung to this child's wings, Grrel guessed that it must have just hatched... A warm fuzzy feeling filled her, she always loved Keinlings. They were so sweet and innocent, then they grew up and became mischievous Keindreds. Grrel sank back onto her haunches and daintily wrapped her tail about her feet. "Well aren't you an adorably rowdy baby." She purred softly in the Drakein tongue, "What are you doing out chasing butterflies?"

The small green hatchling stopped mid stride, hiccuping as she fell back on her haunches. Her bright blue eyes staring up at the large golden colored Drakien before her. This wasn't her mom or dad, this was a new one. She hadn't met another one like her before! Cocking her head to the side in curiosity the small creature babbled her attempt at words, trying to mimic the sounds Grrel made by speaking to her. Completely ignoring the butterfly as it fluttered away and out of sight. Unaware of how far away from the nest she had wandered.
Kioda didn't waste any time deciding Grrel was a friend and lunged forward batting playfully at the large ones tail. Unable to properly communicate as the older Drakiens could Kioda dropped her head in a small rumbling sound letting the sound crescendo until she cut it suddenly. All in an attempt to create the word play. Jumping back she turned her back and swished her tail, hoping to goad the larger one on.

So cute!!! Grrel rumbled happily in her throat, this child was so rambunctiously adorable! As the baby batted at her tail and babbled in growls, Grrel playfully swiped her tail at the little one. If this little girl wanted to play, then Grrel would play with her! She had missed playing with the clans Keinligs. As the baby jumped back and lashed her tail, Grrel bent her long neck and nuzzled the little one.

Kioda chirruped in surprise as Grrels tail swiped towards her, leaping into the air in her near miss of jumping over the obstacle. Kioda's soft hid claw grazed the top of Grrels tail and the small hatchling tumbled into a somersault from her leap. Rolling like a small barreled all until her back landed up against the trunk of a large tree. Her tail sticking up in the hair and sloping back in front of her body blocking her small head from view.
Rumbling as she corrected herself, Kioda mirthfully went back to baiting Grrel with her tail. Exited when she was nuzzled forward again, dashing away ahead of Grrel and pulling the play yet again. Rumbling as she took off into the tree's, her movements still clumsy as she struggled to move quickly twisting one way then the other. Only looking back once to check to see if Grrel was playing the game with her.

Grrel watched with amusement as the tiny Keinling tumbled over her tail after a failed jumped. This little one didn't even seem to mind crashing into trees! She just kept coming back up ready to play! Grrel growled happily, it was always so much fun playing with children. When the green Keiling turned around and began a stumbling run through the trees and pausing to look back at her every now and then, Grrel saw that this little one wanted to play the age old game of chase.
Smiling to herself, she trotted off after the little one. Dodging behind trees and general playing at stalking, Grrel was really enjoying this pleasant time. It was such a nice break from Dragon hunting and magic practice.

Glancing back Kioda squeaked as she bounced forward playfully. She was playing chase she was! Wiggling this way and that Kioda attempted to find small gaps with which she could wiggle through and bide time until the larger one could catch up to her. This one was smarter than her siblings which made the game all that much better to play!
Sneezing when a dead leaf settled on her nose Kioda fell back on her haunches again. Wiggling her wings close to her body. Something in the air had changed but it wasn't something she recognized.

Grrel was amused at this Keinling's antics. She fondly remembered her time as a Keinling and the many screw-ball games she and her clutch siblings played. She snuck up on upon the young child as it paused for a moment. Pouncing on Kioda and nuzzling her, Grrel rumbled her happiness. Grrel smiled as she sat back and let the little one sit up. She then caught a faint sent on the air. One that made her back ache form a remembered battle. A Ysali Dragon was nearby. Deciding that play time was over, Grrel picked up Kioda and dropped up on her back. Grrel then began to trot back towards where she heard other Keinlings and their chirping cries. She didn't want to encounter a Dragon out here, not when this little one could get caught up in the battle. Maybe her parents would be back at the nest and could help if the Ysali got too close.

Kioda squealed with excitement as Grrel pounced forward to catch her in a tag, sneezing a fleck of egg goo away from her nose. Chirping softly in reply, this wasn't her mother but she sure was kind like her!
Twisting her body around and ruffling her wings slightly Kioda squeaked again as she was promptly repositioned. What was going on! This wasn't right! Grrel was acting far to strange for this to be a normal game. Nestling down as best she could on her new large friend so as not to loose her balance or cause a balance shift in the older Drakein.
It had taken Kioda a moment to realize she had been returned to the general direction of her nest. How silly, she was like a mother after all! Keeping boundaries in check. She wanted to be out exploring! She wanted to learn everything she could, not be hampered by silly boundaries!
Babbling irritatedly at Grrel Kioda wiggled free, landing awkwardly on the ground, twisting and scrambling to right herself. Pulling herself to her feet Kioda continued to wiggle, trying to pull her wings tighter against her body. If she could just look like the older ones she could have less limits too!

Grrel could still smell the Ysali so it wasn't moving away but it wasn't moving closer. Good, that would let her get this rambunctious one back to-- She stopped and twisted her head around as she felt the little one squirm off. Blast! Why did she want to keep on playing couldn't she smell the... oh wait. Grrel shook her head. This one was newly hatched, she wouldn't know what a Dragon was if it stepped on her...
Smiling to herself, Grrel bounded over Kioda's head and pickedher up in her fore claws yet again. But instead of setting her on her back, Grrel took to the skies instead, still holding baby Kioda. This was so much faster and easier to travel Grrel thought as she alighted by the nest and set Kioda next to what must have been her egg. Looking up, she tried to spot Kioda's parents. It would be so much easier if they were here... then Grrel could go deal with the Dragon and let the little play in safety.

It wasn't long before Kioda felt herself being snatched up again and babbling insistently to be put back down she felt her heart lurch into her throat as she was quickly pulled into the air. Babbling giggled filled the air around her as wings extended, the feeling of the wind was pleasing even if her wings were damp and rather wrinkled.
The game had ended all to quickly as she was once again placed down on the ground with shells surrounding her. Goop spilling at her feet. Sniffing to investigate the strange egg Kioda sneezed and rushed to hide behind Grrel. This wasn't her egg! This wasn't her home! Where had she been taken. Squeaking in quiet fearful tones Kioda tried hard to convey the emotions. Suddenly desperate for her own mom to comfort her.
Teal eyes danced about the tree's. She had no idea where she was now. And now had no way to getting home. Sniffing as she squeeked again with a growing sadness Kioda attempted to place her two front paws on Grrel.

Grrel looked down at the tiny Keinling tried to hide behind her. She tilted her head in confusion at the sad and desperate tones in the little one's squeaks. This was her nest, why was she afraid? Was she too young to recognize her own scent? Twisting her head, she nuzzled the little one in comfort. Now she had to wait for the parents to show and hope the Ysali left.....And she couldn't leave this nest alone, what if a two-legger came upon it? Crooning to comfort Kioda, Grrel took the chance to look around and see if she could spot any other Keinlings near by. This little one had the scent of other Kieinlings upon her so her siblings should be near. As Grrel looked about, she could spot no sign of any other Keinlings... Had she taken this one to the wrong nest? Hmmm, hopefully the parents came back soon so she could ask... If this was the wrong nest, then she'd have to go looking for the correct one. It should be near since Drakein often nested near each other... and if it was the wrong nest, where was the Keinling who had hatched from the empty shell in the nest?

Kioda replied to Grrels nuzzles with low, fearful, trills of her own. Her trills growing softer with each passing moment. Curling her tail around her body, Kioda pulled her wings in tightly. Her head shifting to look around behind her, searching for any form of familiarity. Anything. The tree's didn't mach, even the way the nest was formed wasn't familiar. There was an egg in the nest, all the shells from her hatching siblings had been quickly cleared out. Her mother had made sure of that, it was supposed to help the goo dry faster.
Ruffling her wings with a shiver, Kioda took in a deep breath. Preparing to let out a long loud cry, before she was interrupted by Grrels crooning. Removing her paws from Grrels haunches, Kioda looked up pleadingly. Letting her jaw fall, Kioda let forth a cry as loud as she could manage. Pausing to let it sift over the air and the bond with her mother. Taking in a new breath of air, preparing for another loud cry.

At Kioda's loud cry Grrel saw an approaching Drakein. Probably the mother of this nest, which meant she could take Kioda to her home and not worry about the eggs. Here. Quickly turning she again grabbed Kioda and placed her upon her back. Giving her a comforting nuzzle and rumbling croon, she furled her wings protectively around Kioda to keep her from falling off. She walked towards the other Drakien and warned her of the Ysali and asked where Kioda's nest might be. The other was statled but thankful for the warning, apparently there was a nest of a Dragon's nearby and she'd been preparing a new nest for her own eggs. After getting the location of the nest, Grrel quickly walked towards the new nest, hoping it was the correct one this time. It was definitely time to return the little one to her home nest. "Almost there, little one." She softly spoke to the Keinling on her back.

The cry rushed out from Kioda, deafening her to any approaching sounds. She wanted her mom, her dad, she wanted to be home! Sniffing after she had run out of air, Kioda squeaked. Her tail curling upright against her body. Her back claws stretched out until they felt Grrel's hide. It felt rough to her softer paws. Hiccuping as Grrel nuzzled her, Kioda lowered her body flat against the Drakein's back.
The hiccups continued as Grrel's wings rose against her. Watching the sky curiously around her, shivering as her body slowly calmed down with Grrel's presence around her. Startling when another Drakein spoke. Shifting her tail cautiously Kioda was disappointed when the voice wasn't familiar. Still not her mother!
Movement continued as muscles shifted under her paws. Resisting the urge to use her claws for more support, despite the wings holding her secure. A slight breeze blew the familiar scent of a nest up to the small Keinling. Keening urgently, Kioda wiggled about. This was home! Her mom had to be close by.
