Personality + Bio: Maer is from a very reserved family line. Her father was a man of business and not often around... or faithful to his family. Her mother didn't hold a lot of affection or compassion either, a rather cold woman who held high expectations for all her children. Maer was one that was considered to be a great disappointment, what with her physical flaws, and personality flaws combined, equalizing her to get picked on and criticized by her mother constantly, often resulting in how she was a 'failure' and how no man would ever want to marry a girl like her. It was established very early on just how displeased her mother was in her. Asides from critiquing everything Maer did, her mother never acknowledged her presence otherwise, unless telling her to do some sort of chore.
However... her mother did eventually die to illness, and her father remarried. She was no longer welcome in the home, along with her other siblings, and had to find a life for herself. Without a prospective husband, it was quite difficult for Maerill. But she was able to find work in a flower store with a few other women, and an older gentleman who was a husband to one of the older ladies. They were kindly, and the young woman was able to find a small cottage to live in nearby.
Maerill is a shy girl. She's also terribly socially awkward, often times finding herself flustered in terms of extended discussions. Or personal one's... she can become uneasy, and stammer, or trip over her words, which has resulted to her avoiding confrontation as best as possible. Though when she's around plants she seems to be in another world of her own; calm, composed, and relaxed. She also has a difficult time speaking with gentlemen, often times unable to even look to their eyes, her voice quiet and meek. With her lack of self-esteem and confidence, Maerill has found that the most comfortable thing to do is to keep to herself, and avoid any sort of engagement if possible.
