With all the children gone from the cave, Rishy had found her life rather dull. Sure juggling three purewalker pups and her pain in the a** mate wasent her favorite thing to do, but at least is was somewhat entertaining. Not to mention it was all for a purpose, but now, hunting and eating and hunting and eating. Were had all the fun gone? What was the purpose in this? Rishy had chosen Ghostpaw because he was easy to keep track of. As long as he was fed he was manageable.

Things had gotten a little tough when her two sons decided that they would make better alphas, but she was able to calm them down...for now. Ghostpaw was still the alpha, and her children were off finding mate of their own, spreading terror, fulfilling her purpose. Everything was going according to plan. But all this waiting and pleasing her mate was starting to get on her nerves. And dragging a full grown stag back to their cave all by herself was not helping her mood. Food for the alpha, none for her until he ate, then he would sleep. Then she would take the food and eat the remains, then she would scout the area to find were the herd had moved on to so that she could hunt again tomorrow. Life was so boring.

User ImageGhostpaw had been out patrolling the territory, not only keeping an eye out for intruding skinwalkers, but also for foolish Soquili stupid enough to wander into their hunting grounds. Finding no others to amuse himself with, he headed back to the den he shared with his mate. At least it was less crowded after sending the cubs out to find their own dens.

Walking into the cave, the purewalker could already smell the carcass of the stag and it set his mouth the salivating. Rishy had done well to bring home something to feed on. Scouting the territory had made him hungry. But then, he was always hungry.

Moving further back into the den, his eyes adjusted quickly to the dark and he located his mate and the stag. Ghostpaw, selfish as he was, could not help notice his Rishy's eyes did not hold their usual sparkle of murderous glee. "What is wrong? You are almost, docile. Are you sick?"

Great, he was back. Rishy could hear him coming, he was quiet, but she had been with him for a while and knew what his feet sounded like. She finished dragging the deer into the cave and watched as he entered. Rishy growled at his comment, but he was right. She hated it when he was right. “No im not sick. Im just feeling a little bored.” she lunged forward at the deer and ripped open its side, letting the smell of blood fill the cave. That should keep him occupied for a while, so Rishy moved back into the cave a bit farther to give him room to eat. When he was finished it would be her turn, the smell was enticing, but it was not worth getting clawed at... “Now eat your food.” ...or was it?

For now, the stallion was placated with the offering of food. He would deal with Rishy after he'd had his fill. Tearing into the stag, he went for the choicest bits first: brain, stomach, intestines, and haunches. Eventually satisfied (for now), he settled some ways away from the carcass to gnaw contentedly on a thigh bone while Rishy could have her fill.

"It has been quiet of late. Perhaps we need to go hunting," Ghostpaw suggested. "More than just for a buck or doe. I have not tasted Soquili meat in a long time."

Rishy moved over to the carcass and began to tear into what was left. she was actually pretty hungry, so there really was nothing left when she finished. the meat was filling, but her mate made a good point. food tasted better when you had to work hard for it. hunting here was not difficult seeing as most other predators either moved out or had been eaten by them, so game multiplied easily. but Rishy wanted more than to simply hunt, she wanted a challenge.

She sat for a moment and began to clean her fur of the deers blood. Rishy could not help be let a smile slip. "i want a challenge, lets go hunting."

Ghostpaw grinned and stood up, stretching a bit. Now his mate was starting to make sense again. "Shall we simply hunt and eat, or play with our food a bit? Perhaps we can find a a family. That would be worth hours of fun at least... and fill our bellies."

He strode over to her, giving her a light headbutt to her shoulder (the only form of affection he allowed to her) and head out to stand outside. He sniffed at the wind, filing away the smells drifting on it. "It's been awhile since something interesting has come through here. We might have to travel."

Rishy stared down at her clean paws. it had never really been in her interest to hunt for fun. she always pictured herself as simply another animal that hunts to survive. not like those cruel sadistic walkers that tortured and maimed for fun. it was for that very reason that she was even able to have a mate and a family. most walkers would not be able to live with others, but Rishy was special. all of those years spent in a foal's body had taught her patients and how to rely on others to accomplish her needs. but now Rishy is an old mare, older than most know. life had made her strong and cunning and hateful. she could feel it inside of her. the reason she put up with everyones crap. the reason that she raised three brats. she wanted the world to feel her hate, but who said that she could only accomplish that through indirect means.

Rishy got to her feet, a wicked smile spreading across her face. "Lead the way." after all, she was a Purewalker, hate itself manifested...what was the fun of controlling pawns from afar. she wanted to see for herself the pain on her enemies faces.

The large stallion grinned even more at his mate's willingness to go for a hunt with him. True, purewalkers were not exactly built for co-habitation.. and most times he and Rishy merely tolerated each other at best, but they had a common goal to keep them together. And now they had another. "We might have to travel far to find prey, but it should be worth it." He glanced back at the cave not too worried that anything else would move in in their absence, and if anything did, they'd just kill it.

Looking down at his mate, he twitched an ear, an evil thought (as if purewalkers had any other kinds) began. "Should we pay a visit to the fools who tried to take care of you when you were a foal, let them see how much you've grown?"

Another brilliant idea from her mate. find the ones that treated her as nothing more than kitten. it would be a hard task considering she had no idea were any of them currently lived. she wasent even sure if she could find were they lived when she was small, but no need to damper the mood with such pessimist thoughts. she liked the idea so it was worth a try.

Rishy walked up to her mate. "Yes we shall." she nudged his shoulder and then took off into the woods. her adrenaline was running high and it was probably not the best idea to waste all her energy in the first leg of the journey but she could not help it, she was just so excited.

Ghostpaw let out a chilling howl (probably giving small heart attacks to ever animal in the vicinity) and raced after his mate. He didn't know if she could find those that looked after her when she was little, but it was worth a try to teach them what fools they were to try befriending and raising a purewalker rather than kill it as a babe. He grinned at the impending violence as he disappeared into the night after Rishy.

she heard her mates hunting howl and it only excited her more. it felt great to be running and free, even if they were still in their territory she could feel freedom ahead. it was the feeling of starting off on a journey, the kind of journey that made you stronger than the person that you were when you first left. she ran for a while, not really caring if Ghostpaw was with her or not, but she did check over her shoulder every once and a while, and he was there. they were running together, a terrifying sight for sure. any beast would be frightened out of their minds to have two purewalkers randomly appear out of nowhere. she chuckled a little at the thought of then just running by without incident and the confusion that the poor creature would have. it got her thinking into the games that could be played. she was never one for games, but the idea was enticing. maybe she would try her hand at a few games. but at the same time she had to keep her goal in mind.
