Roll a Nine: Seashore Field: Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times). This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GROUND and WATER type attacks.

Genesis ran to reach the stadium, checking the time as she did so. She'd planned another battle with Alexa, after the two had spent a while training on their own, and she needed to hurry if she didn't want to be late.
Screeching to a halt near the trainer's podium on her end, she exhaled in relief when she saw she just barely made it. After checking the Poké Balls on her belt, she clambered up to greet her opponent.

Alexa had arrived at the stadium moments before Karin did. She didn't need to rush like last time and Socks hadn't gotten into a fight before hand. She waved cheerfully at Karin. She felt confident about the battle this time as her pokemon had received extensive training since the last battle. "Hey Karin! Good luck!"

Alexa had to think a bit about who to send out. Finally she figured out who to use and tossed them out. "Let's show them how you've improved Farvardin!" She called.
Farvardin appeared on the field and immediately noticed the water. She began to bark at but stayed clear out of the way of the splashing waves. She ran back and forth along the shore kicking up a ton of wet sand.

Genesis returned the comment before running a hand amongst her Poké Balls. Choosing one, she threw it onto the field.
"You're up, Percy," she called, loud enough for only her Pokémon to hear.
Perseus hissed at the sand beneath as she landed, shaking her paw to rid a few grains from her toes. The noise of displeasure only grew louder when she was slapped with a bunch of mud Farvardin was throwing up, and, pretending she was overwhelmed with all the sand, began to cry.

Farvardin looked back at the Purrloin and snarled at her. Tears were for the weak. She then crouched down and began stalking towards Perseus.

Perseus pretended the snarl only spooked her all the more, and she cried harder. She watched the Houndour discreetly, however, to make sure nothing would surprise her too much.

Farvardin was very upset with this cat. She had no courage, no guts to stand up for herself. Instead the Purrloin could only cry (possibly fake cry, Farvardin couldn't tell the difference). She snarled once more and crept closer.

Perseus turned away, as if frightened. She yowled piteously at Alexa and appeared like nothing more than a huge kitten. Subtly, she looked aside from the tail of her eye to keep track of the Houndour.

Farvardin huffed when the Purrloin turned to her trainer and quickly moved to block Perseus from looking at Alexa. "Don't you dare try to do anything to her!" She growled. She was a bit protective of her trainer and she didn't like others displaying such weakness.

Perseus crouched lower into the sand and looked up with wide eyes at the Houndour. In the next moment, she attempted to dart under her foe to cry louder in Alexa's ears.

Alexa knew better than to acknowledge the crying Purrloin. Instead she focused off into the distance at Karin. "So how did your training go?" She called out. This would make Farvardin happy, that she wasn't babying the crying pokemon.
Farvardin snarled some more and once more moved to block the Purrloin. She was proud of her trainer for ignoring the weak pokemon. "See what being a crybaby gets you!? NOTHING!"

"It went all right," Genesis replied easily, her sharp gaze picking up on the Houndour's protective stance. "You?"
Then, hoping to get her Pokémon out of the way before it escalated too much, she called out another order.
Perseus scowled and, after flinging a pawful of sand at the Houndour's face, ran the other direction.

"That's good." Alexa said with a smile, "It went pretty well." She then turned back to the battle and shook her head. "Mud Slap!"
Farvardin shook her head to get rid of the sand before racing after the Purrloin. Once she was close enough she swiped a paw in the sand sending a small wave of it at the cat.
