It was with an exasperated sigh that Aventine combed her hair out of her face; she wasn't even sure what she was doing out tonight with such a cold breeze. Her ears felt like they'd collected icicles, and she wasn't sure if she was ever going to defrost. The heater was broken in the apartment, and—as if that wasn't bad enough—she'd made the mistake of walking into the shower before testing the temperature. Thank you, equally broken water heater.

She'd fussed—thought maybe she ought to treat herself to a nice dinner in some toasty restaurant. She'd dressed up.

And then she'd run into a youma and high tailed it the ******** out of there.

So, here she was, powered up, hopelessly cold, and wondering if she'd have met a cute guy at the restaurant if she'd ever managed to make it there. The adrenaline was still coursing through her veins, so she didn't want to risk powering down. It wasn't that she had any motivation to patrol—but, hell. If she was dressed for the part, why not try to make the best of the evening?

Smacking her hands together, she drew in a breath , curled her toes in her shoes and decided she was going to make the best of this evening—starting off by heading towards the tingling sensation of what she assumed to be another page.

It had been just a couple days since her battle with Schörl and she still had bruises from the battle which she hadn't exactly been a willing participant in. She found that she didn't really like fighting, she also found she wasn't the best fighter either. She would always love magic, but after being attacked twice for no reason she was becoming a small bit less enthusiastic for the night life adventures she was embarking on.

Sighing she still patrolled, she had a duty and her mother had always taught her to uphold them. On the farm she had a duty to help with the animals and the harvest, so as a knight she would uphold her duty to patrol and defend others.

She felt someone coming toward her before she could see them and stopped making sure to get a good sense of whether it was good or bad. She didn't think another run in with a member of chaos was the best idea at the moment. What she felt seemed to be another good guy on her level so she decided to wait. Two was better than one and she found as a knight she did better in a pair.

By the time Aventine managed to make it close enough to Pharos to be seen, she had warmed up to the cold. She even managed to flash a smile at the page when she neared. "Heya, evening. I figured I was going to be the only one out tonight. Kinda feel like a postman, you know? The whole 'Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night' stopping us, that sort of thing."

It was probably a lame attempt at a joke, but it was a little too chilly for Aventine's mind to really be producing its best work. As she approached, she presented a hand. "Aventine, Page of Venus. You know, I have not seen enough pages around, so it is so good to see you. I'm so happy, I could just—" she lowered her hand before really even giving Pharos a chance to shake it and embraced the girl.

Brazen? Forward? Possibly rude? Yeah, but this girl was warm and that was good.

Pharos smiled and gave a laugh at the joke, "yeah postmen of the old. The postman nowadays have it easy with the little post trucks. Ah, but it would be nice. Yes, yes though, I'm out for the night too. First night out since a crazy girl decided to try to kill me."

Pharos totally ended the little joke on a morbid note, not that she really realized it because she was still smiling and she went to shake Aventine's hand when she introduced herself, but found herself engulfed in a hug, face full of brown waves.

She was a bit shocked at first to be hugged, but she didn't mind at all and it only took a second before the little page gave Aventine a tight squeeze. "It is very nice to meet other nights. Though Im lucky because there is a whole team of Chronos knight."

She pulled away and grinned, "I'm Pharos, Page of Chronos. Thanks for the hug."

Aventine was smiling when she drew away, herself. "Another Chronos? There sure do seem to be a lot of you guys running around! I've met…Troy, Troy and Celsus. But I haven't seen either in a while. You're the first girl I've met since I became Aventine, so it is such a relief. Caelian was there with me—she's a Venus girl, but stronger than me. Man," she let out another sigh of relief. "I was worried there weren't any more."

Not that she had been out enough to have met a fair representation of the knights out there, but it was exciting all the same. Immediately, she jumped back into conversation. "So—how's it going? Anything interesting going on in the life of Pharos, Page of Chronos? I mean, pagely info—I won't pry on your personal life," she clarified with a somewhat awkward laugh.

She wasn't necessarily new to being a knight, but it seemed like everyone she spoke to, she learned something new—and she wasn't going to pass up this opportunity. Especially if it could help distract her from freezing her a** off.

Pharos smiled and nodded excitedly quite happy to talk about the team. "Yes, there are eight of us zodiac knights, Troy and Celsus are actually the only boys believe it or not. The are six girls pages on the team. You're the only other girl I've meet outside the team, the only other page really. I mean I've met Camelot, but he's a knight."

She frowned a little as the conversation turned away from the team and turned around to how things were going for her. She was reminded of the bruise on her thigh and sighed. "Good and bad too. I mean I've met a lot of people and dusted tons of youma, but I've also been attacked twice for no reason. This vindetta against knights is rather ridiculous."

She huffed crossing her arms slightly and pouting, "I don't really want to go around getting into big fights and making enemies, but I think it might be best if I actually learn to fight."

The use of another familiar name immediately made Aventine relax; Camelot had been a godsend in terms of information, and the fact that someone else knew him made her feel more like she was in some community and not just some stray running around. "Oh, I hear you on that one," she said of the page's last point. "I mean, I'm not super eager to go get into fights?"

Not because she was eager to turn her back to a fight, but because these people had really weird, unpredictable powers and she didn't. She had a fancy little perfume bottle, and that was it.

"But it's kinda like, I keep running into people who want to fight. Youma, no problem. Except they're gross. But I've had people attack me for like, just existing. You wanna like, I dunno, trade tips or something and maybe tell me what you know about this vendetta?"

Because, if someone was out to get knights—her—she'd seriously like to know if there was something she could do about it.

She grinned and, rather eagerly, continued, "I mean, you could show me what you know, I'll show you what I know—I mean, at the very least it'd be a good way to warm up, right?"

Pharos gave a small laugh and nodded, she'd been eager to help up in the surrounding, but it was lot easy when she was just a civilian with her belt to help her, oddly enough. Being strongers and dressed in shades of pink really didn't help at all and neither did the flower she had.

Pharos froze up slightly and frowned. She didn't totally understand the knight vendetta but she did know some of it had to do with the surrounding event. She sighed, "I can't say a hundred percent for sure, but part of the reason the knight are hated has to do with us zodiac knight, but i think that's mostly for the mirror senshi. Knights were around before that, but I dont know much of things that happened before the surrounding happened and I became a knight. The whole situation was crazy, amazing, but still crazy and I can't really tell you what happened right now, because it would take to long, but another time definitely."

She gave a smile, "I don't have a lot of tips to give, except to make sure you pay attention to the energy signatures when your patrolling so you aren't surprised, but its not always easy."

Pharos blinked for a moment, slightly confused before she got what Aventine was talking about, "Sure that would be fun actually. We could get better without having to worry that the other person is actually trying to kill you."

If it was one thing Pharos had clearly indicated to Aventine, it was that the whole knight vendetta was downright crazy, and while she might not have understood the whole situation, she felt a bit relieved knowing that there wasn't some reason knights were the bad guys. Let all those Chaos morons be psycho-crazy—at least she didn't have to keep herself up at night fretting about who she was fighting with.

"That's awesome!" she piped up when the other page agreed. "I am definitely more excited to fight when I know my life is not at risk," she laughed. "So, how do you want to do this? You want to run at me, show me some moves, we do a fancy little dance and see if we can't teach each other some neat, secret attacks to totally blow our enemies out of the water?"

She might have been a little too excited, but the cold was practically mind numbing—and Aventine already had too much energy this evening. Anything to fight off boredom and frostbite was something she could get into.

Pharos blinked not really sure she knew any moves that would totally blow her enemies out of the water, not unless she had a useful weapon, but she was certainly willing to try.

"I guess that could work, not sure what kind of moves I can show you, but um we should probably have a few rules. I mean obviously we don't want to hurt each other, but I don't know one thing I can do might end up with you on your butt."

She gave a small grin, feeling a little excited, but still confused about exactly how this whole move demonstration was suppose to work. She didn't really get the fancy little dance thing because dancing was a lot less painful that fighting, generally.

"Maybe you should go first," she said with a small laugh.

"I don't mind winding up on my butt! I can take a few bruises! Just not in the face, that's pretty important to me. Mostly all I've learned has got to do with elbows, but," she shrugged. "The rugby girls and I just got used to elbow maneuvers. I'll try not to hurt you, but it might be a little sore." She paused, and then just smiled and waved it off. "I won't hurt you," she decided, figuring she didn't want to scare the girl.

"So, like—what I do? You run, really fast, but like you're going to run by them, or right at them. Whatever you can do to confuse them and not let you know where you're going. Then I quick hop, run by, jab 'em in the back and am hopefully far enough away that they're too busy hurting to know where I went!" she laughed.

"But I'm not the best at describing it, so I can just show you? Here, like this," she said, taking a stance, stretching, and then running like she was going to attack Pharos head on. In the last second before contact, she adjusted course to run by her, and swung her elbow around—lightly, as not to actually cause damage—so she could nudge her in the back with it. "A good blow to the rib cage really hurts!" she said somewhat proudly, but she was, ultimately, far more eager to see what Pharos could show her. She definitely wanted to know how to throw people on their a**. "—Are you okay, though? I didn't get you too hard, right?"

Pharos nodded and grinned, before shaking her head, then nodding again and probably just looking very confused as she did all these in quick concession in response to Aventine's words. Pharos could take a few bums and bruises too and she also had no desire to be hit in the face, so that was all good.

She kept mostly quiet listening to Aventine explain what she intended to do and nodding along. The explanation did not seem at all hard, even though Aventine said she wasn't good at explaining, Pharos thought she understood well enough. "I think I got it, but I'm definitely not adverse to a demonstration," she said quickly and waited.

She found very quickly when someone was running right at you. I was really hard to stay still especially when you knew that someone was going to hit you. She almost went to dodge last minute, but managed to stay where she was even Aventine's elbow jostled her ever so slightly. It did hurt at all, but it connected, so of course she felt it.

"I'm fine, but it's really hard to just stand there. I wanted to move. It felt unnatural and that's saying something," she said with a small laugh. "Should I try your move or would you like to ankle catch, which is guaranteed to get you a bit dirty but really surprise you opponent. Though it only possible if they're legs are apart and your on grass or dirt. You run, like you did, only last minute instead of dodging around, like you did, you drop down and slide. The goal is to slide between their legs or even on outside, catch their ankle and bring them down face first."

She gave a small grin, "I wouldn't try it on someone who is too bulky though, because if you haven't got enough momentum it won't work."

"Ankle catch!" Aventine exclaimed, seeming completely enthralled with the description alone. "Sounds like something right out of an action movie!"

…Which prompted the idea that maybe she should go out, rent a few, and try to pick up some fighting tricks from the stuntmen.

"I can handle getting a little dirty," she said; her outfit might have been dainty, but she was far from it. She'd eaten enough dirt and grass during her rugby games that the taste of mud and blood in her mouth was almost comforting. There was the additionally luxury of not having to worry about grass stains; she wished there was a way to clean her regular clothes as easy as it was to summon a nice, fresh page outfit. "How'd you come up with something like that?" she asked, grinning while she gave Pharos a look over. It wasn't meant to be an insulting comment, though she was very surprised that the girl would be interested in such a messy move.

Pharos giggled, “I guess it could be straight out of an action movie.” She could definitely see a spy or action hero trying the move out. She grinned at Aventine nodding when she said she could handle getting dirty and thought that she was very much like the girl even if she was a knight, though Pharos tended to like just everyone.

“It came from being raised on the farm and playing rough with the boys. Really it very good move for chicken catch, you just don't want to let your mom catch you doing it,” she said laughing lightly. She wasn't the best chicken catcher, William was, but she was the best tree climber so she didn't mind.

“Alright, get ready. I'll demonstrate.”

She waited a few moments for Aventine to get ready and charged forward and dropped sliding toward Aventine, she decided to slide to the outside, so she grabbed on Aventine left leg as she slide by giving a tug, but letting go not really wanting to make the girl fall.

The demonstration was massively effective, even without Pharos actually taking Aventine down. She wobbled on one leg for a bit and flailed—not unlike a chicken, herself—before catching her balance.

When she had her bearings back, she spun to look at Pharos, grinning. "That was amazing! And you learned that while chasing chickens? I like you!" she declared. For as much as she liked dressing up and getting pretty, there was something admirable about a girl who would admit to chasing chickens and playing rough. "I mean, that'd be a totally illegal move in rugby, but one of these days you'll have to let me drag you out for a game! —If you like getting dirty and don't mind getting roughed up a bit, at least." She held out a hand to help the girl up, seeming to be bursting with energy. The adrenaline, for a change, was pleasant; this wasn't a life or death thing and she could get her heart racing without worrying about any fatal consequences. Hell, this was fun. This gave her the hope and energy she needed to keep on powering through all the real battles.
