The library was another place Etzer knew. His collection was seriously lacking, so he decided to go there to see if he could find any new titles to write down and buy later. It wouldn't do to filch it from the library - how could anyone else enjoy the cheesy novels he so loved if he just took the only copy?
Maybe it would have been a blessing for other students, but Etzer didn't see it that way - what better use was a trashy novel then to laugh at?
Nodding at those sitting down and reading books respectfully, the Frost Demon made his way to the back, attempting to find that one book that would scream at him, Look at ME!

Arachne was quietly reading, legs curled underneath her as she sat in one of the chairs that was tucked against a wall between the many bookshelves.
She liked it that way, it meant she could relax, and get some research down, and indeed she had a pen in hand and a notebook resting on the open pages of the large tome. Occasionally she paused, scribbling away a few notes before turning the next thin, crackling sounding page.
The ghoul stopped, at one point in the act of turning another page, listening as she though she heard footsteps approaching her little corner, but when no one appeared straight away she shrugged and went back to her book.

Hmm, maybe they were in another section entirely. He turned around however, and saw one student sitting on the floor. Maybe she could help him?
"Excuse me," Etzer spoke politely, giving a slight bow. His long braid fell over a shoulder as he did so. "I'm new here, and I seem to be a bit lost. If you had a mere moment, perhaps you could help me find what I seek?" He kept his voice soft so as to not disturb other patrons if they were trying to read. Standing back up again, he brushed his fingers over his braid, a relaxing gesture he was used to.

Oh, so she had heard someone approaching. At least she wasn't hearing things. She looked up from her notes and the book, and arched a brow, taking the opportunity to rake the dapper young man over with her eyes.
'I can try.' she got to her feet, folding her notebook shut, sliding her pen in the spiral wire that edged it, and shutting the weighty tome, tucking both it and her notebook in the crook of one arm, gathering her grown-long hair in her free hand and flicking it back where it fallen forward.
'What are you looking for?'

Etzer's eyes slid across the book she was holding, simply admiring the wonderful work that was put into it before he glanced to her with a charming smile.
"I'm not sure if you've ever heard of them, but there's two I'm looking for - Tail of the Bearhead and Liaisons of the Lost Llama. They're pretty silly books, but they are some of my favorites."
Silly couldn't quite cut it; stupid was the word Etzer was looking for but failed to use. He knew that his brother wouldn't hesitate to use that word, however.
"If you have any other suggestions, I wouldn't hesitate to get those instead. You seem to be into better things than silly books. Gorgeous cover," He couldn't help but commenting, indicating what she was holding. "Matches the owner very well." That tell of his was pulling at the corner of his lips again.CitrusCupcake Sorry for the late reply! ;;

Arachne returned the smile with one of her own, though she wasn't actually charmed, just being friendly. It'd been a while since she'd made a new acquiantance, and it was easier if it was demon, even though she felt rusty at the whole conversational thing.
'Uhh.' Well, she was nothing if not polite, she'd actually not heard of those, but the titles sounded 'interesting', if not a little peculiar.
'Are they novels?' she queried, she didn't often spend time in the fiction section of the library but she knew where it was.
'My suggestions would only interest you if you were looking to expand your knowledge of seers, and the practise of seeing and telling future events.' she said, shifting the book as it was digging into her arm a little.
'It is a finely made book, my late Grandmother didn't have it in her collection unfortunately.' She was finally able to speak of her Grams without crumbling, though it could cause her a little inward reflection that was broken when she fully realised what he'd just said. Her pale cheeks took on a slight blush, though she was pretty unused to compliments and couldn't think of what to say in return. 'Anyway, I can show you to the section those books might be in if you wanted?'

"They're more like Choose your own adventures type of novels. Kind of... a favorite of mine," Etzer admitted, grinning sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck.
At her mention of seers, Etzer bowed his head respectfully. "It is a pleasure to meet a Seer, then. My name is Etzer. I unfortunately don't have that particular gift, but I am somewhat proficient with ice." Hah, that was a laugh. He couldn't ice his way out of a paper bag to save his life, but no one else needed to know that. "Can you see the future often?"
His smile was warm as he spread out his arm.
"Please, lead the way."

'Oh I see..' Arachne replied, politely, but not really as she'd never heard of such a thing.
'If adventure is your thing though, you've come to the right school though..' However she wasn't sure exactly how much he would like it when they did happen, a written adventure was far less dangerous than the stuff that tended to happen to the students.
'Nice to meet you then, I'm Arachne.' she smiled. 'Oh? Proficient how?' she asked as she headed off between two high shelves for the fiction section. 'And it depends, it takes alot of focus, and sometimes even with effort I don't see much, nor very far ahead.' Once upon a time she would have boasted about how she was the best Seer ever, but she'd changed, and felt far more honest for not doing so.

"I can create small things out of ice, but... I'm not very good at it as of yet." Etzer admitted, smile waning. He followed her to the high shelves, blinking as he craned his head back to stare up at the fiction section.
"I'm sorry to hear that, but perhaps it's for the best?" Glancing to her, he offered a smile. "I know it would be hard for me to see in the future at all, if I had that particular ability." He thought about it for a moment, finally shaking his head. No, he didn't think he'd like that ability at all. "But I admire you. It can't be easy, can it?"
There, there was a book! He reached up for it, grabbing it with ease. It was one he'd read before, but he offered it to Arachne with pride, his smile lighting up his face.
"Curse of the Hat Hair. I've read this quite a few times, and while it might not live up to the rest of the series, it's still a decent read." On the cover of the book was a monster with blonde hair, obviously having the worst hair day of his life, fighting with a hat that had very sharp teeth.CitrusCupcake It's okay!! <333 We all were busy! <3

'I'm sure you'll be making extravagant ice sculptures in next to no time.' Arachne replied, sort of unsure as to what use that would be, and then adding. 'Can you actually freeze things as well?'
Arachne gave a little shrug. 'I'd like to better at it, but I think I'll follow my Grandmother's lead and not use it too much for myself. She always said life was its own surprise, and more fun not to know in advance what it would bring.'
She could only imagine that was why she hadn't contacted Arachne before she started going downhill. The old lady demon hadn't wanted to know she was dying and had continued to live as she always had.
'Oh. Umm, looks interesting.' she said politely, stifling a grin at the cover art. She didn't read much outside of research purposes, and maybe it or something like it would be a giggle and a change.

"I can freeze things with ease, though it's a very thin layer." To emphasize this point, he held out his hand and straightened it, revealing a thin layer of ice over it - permafrost, but nothing really more concrete than that.
"I'd have to agree with your grandmother on that aspect. If you ended up knowing every little thing at every moment, life would get rather dull, wouldn't it? It would almost be like a clock." Tick, tock.
"Heh. Silly cover, huh? You might enjoy it though, for a bit of light reading. These books aren't meant to be taken seriously, so if you think it's ridiculous, I would not be offended in the slightest."
