Jack awoke, feeling the pain of his head being struck and the burning sensation around his neck. He groaned, the bag still on his head. He couldn't see, but he could smell. The scent of his blood, burning flesh, and fear was strong, but he could pick up on small things. Certain whiffs of things that he couldn't put his finger on. Then, he smelled silver, and knew exactly what was going on.
"Vampire hunters," he wheezed, unable to move very much. The silver chain was attached to the chair he was seated at. He heard movement around him, and froze, terrified for his life. Any second now, and he might find a stake in his heart or worse.
"Indeed," a voice whispered next to his ear.
Jack nearly jumped out of his skin, but he was still alive... why?
"You could have killed me, but you didn't," suddenly the bag was pulled from his head, and he squinted at the bright lights above him. He couldn't tell where he was, but it seemed old. Very old. The floor was not creaky, but that's because it was made of stone. And everything around him was cast in shadows, except for a tub that was right beside him. It was filled up with water.
Where they going to try to drown him? He thought it was a little odd that vampire hunters would attempt to do that.

Jack watched as a mysterious man brought in a net. But what really interested the vampire was what was in that net. This man simply tossed her into the tub, with no regards for her safety. She screamed as she flew into the tub water. The water splashed everywhere, even onto Jack. He squinted the eye closest to the tub, afraid of water being splashed into his face.
When the man pulled out a wand and pointed it at the mermaid's face, Arachnid struggled against his restraints, "Leave her alone!" he cried, the silver digging into his neck just a tad deeper. He cried out in pain as the skin burned a bit more.
The vampire's gold eyes focused on the man with the wand, "What's going on?" he hissed, hoping that Strike was on his way. That his maker would be able to break down the door and tear everyone's hearts out in this room. He had never wanted anything so dark to happen to someone until that point.
When no one answered, Arachnid screamed, "Answer me!"

The man who had pointed his wand at the mermaid stepped forward, into the light so that the vampire could see who, exactly, he was up against. This vampire, named Arachnid, was an abomination to everything that this man stood for. He did not deserve to be on this earth. It was not natural. Not right.
If he had a choice, he would have destroyed this vampire where he sat, but good things come to those who wait. That's what he kept telling himself, anyway. And this was one of those instances.
He approached the vampire and grabbed his hair roughly, pulled it to the side to expose Arachnid's bite marks, "This is what's going on," everyone in the room stayed silent, most likely watching with interest in their eyes. They hungered to kill this one off, like they had been for so many years, "Your blood is tainted. Unclean. And profitable,"
He gently rubbed his finger over the marks, causing the vampire to wince slightly under his touch. So, it was true. Young vampires were most susceptible to having their bite marks pressed. It caused them intense pain. His informant had been correct. At least he would live to see another day, unlike the vampires, once they caught wind of what had happened to their own.

This man knew his weaknesses and was playing with them. He stroked Arachnid's neck, making him flinch. It hurt, yes, but not as bad as it used to. He had aged a bit since then, but the marks weren't old enough yet to not hurt.
Arachnid felt the chain dig into his neck deeper on the side where his head was tilted. He growled as the smell of his flash burning reached his nose, "So, you plan on selling my blood?" Arachnid scoffed, "Why kidnap the mermaid, then?"
It was peculiar, kidnapping a mermaid along with a vampire. It was unusual, but maybe they'd tell him? It was unlikely, but Arachnid had no other option. He needed to know what was going to happen to him and this mermaid.

The man merely smiled at Arachnid's comments. Vampires always thought they deserved to know everything. They had escaped death once, but the final death was always eminent. It was possible to kill a vampire, to knock them down a peg or two. Well, forever, anyway, but that was no fun.
He stroked the marks once more, whispering, "All in good time, night-walker,"
The man glanced up at someone standing by, just outside the light, and barked an order, "Get the knife," one of the figures rummaged through robes and then presented a knife to the man. He took it with his stroking hand, examining it carefully.
"This will hurt quite a bit, vampire," the man smiled cruelly.

When the man was done cutting Arachnid open and pouring the blood out onto the ground, he cut a himself with the knife. With a quick movement of his hand, there was a nice small cut across his wrist, which he then forced against Arachnid's lips. At first Arachnid struggled against it, the chain digging further into his neck. Finally, however, some of the blood trickled in, and his Hunger reawakened. He sucked from the wound greedily, realizing how much blood he had actually lost. To be this hungry, Arachnid had lost quite a bit.
Then as quickly as it was there, it was pulled away, "Don't be greedy," was what the man said with a smirk. To him, this was a game of some sort. Arachnid was just a play thing. A pet.
The blood - his blood - slowly followed the bricks at their feet, trailing along into a drain of sorts. Arachnid watched as it slowly drained away from the room. He would have slumped if the chain wasn't keeping him from letting his head fall forward. No matter how he sat or adjusted, it was difficult to find a position comfortable enough. He winced with even the smallest movement.
He growled in frustration, "Just end me," Arachnid lifted his head with another small wince, "I know you know how. Just do it," his teeth were clenched with anger.
Arachnid would rather be dead than let these people do anything more to him. Or, worse, the ones he loved. The vampire felt a lump develop in his throat. What of everyone he cared about? Would they be safe? Immediately his brain went to Inari and Cinq.

The man had licked the knife when he finished. Both human and vampire blood mixed on its surface and it tasted so amazing. It made his skin tingle with excitement. He now had enough vampire blood to supply a good amount of people with it, why would he stop there?
When the vampire begged for the final death, he laughed, "Kill you? We don't want to kill you, vampire," he approached Jack with a cruel grin on his face. He put one foot on the chair and grabbed the chain around the vampire's neck, tugging it forward. The flesh burned and sizzled in protest even while the vampire screamed in pain.
"You're more valuable to us alive," he smirked, tracing the chain around his neck with a free hand, "If we wanted to kill you, it would have already happened,"

The door opened and the group of girls entered. The house was pitch black and silent. But he knew what awaited them. The door closed behind them. Fearlessly, the man followed the group of three girls. He pulled out his wand slowly, pointing it at the girls. He cried out a spell, while two others cried the same spell, "Imperio!"
Each spell was cast at each of the students. They could not have even known what was happening. They were very trusting, walking into such a mysterious, dark house willingly. The man smirked, they had killed a lot of birds with one stone.
These children simply walked into a trap. Lucky for him that The Family was quick to think when they saw two more people entering. Otherwise, it would have made apprehending them all very difficult. At least under the Imperius Curse, they had to obey. All they really were going to do was tie them up to a few chairs, just like how they had Arachnid.
And he would be congratulated as a hero to his Family. He beamed with pride.
