He liked being up high. Lume guessed that was the leopard blood in him. Everything else about him screamed cheetah. His slender body, his speed, his agility, all cheetah. But Lume felt just at home in the trees as he did on the ground. He liked to think that he got the best of both worlds, really.
The trees were where he was now, surveying the landscape below him. His mother was off again, somewhere most likely with someone else. A situation Lume was not keen to intrude in on. So here he was, lazing about in the sun, stomach warm against the smooth wood. All four limbs dangled of the edges like limp reeds, tail twitching back and forth.
As good as the sun felt, Lume was bored out of his skull. That would be the cheetah in him, telling him to get up and do something. Which Lume very much wanted to do, though what he could do, the young male was not sure. There wasn't another person in sight, or even another animal. No elephants to tease, no rhinos to sneak up on. He supposed he could practice his dancing, but he wanted to do something more...drastic. And fun.

Born and raised in the rogue lands and living alone ones entire life as a big yellow blister in the sun would have its effects on any lion. It made him very easy to spot in most everywhere he could try to hide or seek refuge for peace and quiet; two things that were very difficult to come by and therefor very precious to the hot headed lion, like water. Over the years he's also learned spite towards other species, (he'll tolerate another lion for as long as he or she doesn't cross any lines) the farther from a lion the less tolerance he has towards them, also when the rogue lands are in a state of unrest. When this state of unrest occurs, Koza knows the younger males are going to try to impress their friends, lovers or selves by scuffling. He knows because he did it himself often as a lad, he thrived on the energy, but now it made him more weary and on edge.

Today when the seasoned male crawled out of the tree trunk he had been calling home for the past couple winters, he felt the warm breeze fluff up his mane in the most lustrous way. This was going to be a day of unrest and crawling in a hole to hide wasn't his style. Instead of going to pick a fight, Koza thought of his decision to travel to a different patch of trees as more of an obstacle for the unrest to overcome in order to tempt him. He had hoped it was more of a moving target than walking right into fate's sticky little hands. Trying to maintain high alert levels on the land was difficult enough to avoid detection, he had no idea he was headed towards an enemy on another plane.

Lume swung one of his front legs back and forth, scowling with boredom as he watched it swing. A blob of yellow flashed by in his peripheral vision. The young male perked up, sharp red eyes zeroed in on a large male lumbering through the trees. He was large, muscles rippling with power in each step. His face was intense, stuck in-between apprehensive and grumpy. A wide grin spread out across Lume's face. This could be better than poking a rhino with a stick. He was sure he could rile this big lion up fairly quickly. Oh, it seemed as if this day wouldn't be so boring after all.
"Well, well, well. Lookie here." The leotah called out, sneering at the lion passing by. "Walkin around like you own the place." At least, Lume hoped the lion didn't actually own the place. Angering passing males was one thing, but a territorial male was another. "Your mane just grow in this week? Still seems a bit scraggly to me." When in doubt, insult their appearance. Almost never failed to at least get their attention.
It was all about reading the enemy. The point of the game was to see either how fast he could get them to strike, or how long he could drag it out before they attacked. Lume was feeling more of the former today, preparing himself to bring out the big guns.

Of course there was no way Geel was going to have a lucky day, he heard the rustling in a tree above him. At first he paid no mind to the distraction, maybe it was just the shadow that followed him around. But the figment of his imagination was silent; no, there was no avoid going down this road now. The black poor excuse for a feline may just get what he was after.

"Them's mighty fighting words..." Koza simply stated, just loud enough for the hybrid to hear him. Before he pushed the boundaries farther himself, he needed to see the insurgent, know the enemy before he could prevail against him. If it wasn't another lion, blood could be shed. Red eyes traveled up the tree and spotted the origin of the voice, "for a throw rug."

Going out looking for trouble wasn't Koza's cup of tea, but neither was shying away from danger when it presented itself. The scaly, dragon pelted lion wasn't about to be intimidated by some undesirable smudge on Africa.

I'm gonna go ahead and let you have the first strike, if you want it

Lume's grin turned malicious. Everything was going according to plan. The Leotah jumped off of the branch, landing a little bit away from the lion. On the ground, his larger size was even more prominent. Lume wasn't too terribly worried, however. Most of the opponents Lume fought were often bigger than him. Strength and size were not the only determinants of a battle's victor. Speed and agility were just as dangerous if utilized correctly.
His red eyes narrowed at stranger in front of him. "Better a throw rug than a giant yellow blister." Lume retorted, snarling a bit to show some teeth.

"You're going to eat those words." Koza didn't have any patience for this kind of talk from something not even dignified enough to be born with some sort of lion in it. Names, prides.. Not too much mattered more than ones image, spitting on it was a blood signature on a death warrant. No matter how much bigger this thing looked on the ground than it did in the tree, Koza wasn't too worried.

For a moment he stood and sized the thing up. Not too worried at all. The battle cries and the warning snarls were all over rated in Koza's opinion, instead he believed while striking while the iron was hot; so he lept. Only while he was in the air did he let out a fierce roar and slashed for the black pelt, but his paws hit the ground instead of anything else. Crap. Now he was compromised and tried to rear around before his actions suffered consequences.

LOL. You and I both! I'm gonna play this off so they both didn't miss in a row. Just not realistic. xD

Lume cackled as he swiftly ducked under the approaching lion. The maned thug might be bigger than him, but Lume was most definitely faster. Couldn't harm something you couldn't hit. His back end dipped, fur ruffling a bit as the lion sailed over him. Twirling as he would in a dance, Lume flipped around, skittering away to the side of the lion. The big lug didn't seem like much of a proficient fighter. No formal training at all, most likely. At least Lume had learned a thing or two from passing combat junkies. Not to mention dancing skills often translated well into his custom style of combat. Butterfly style, he jokingly thought of it. "Will I now?" He teased, unknowingly underestimating his opponent. "Because I seem to be feeling rather hungry still." Oh yes, this fight would be a breeze.

Koza caught the little butterfly wings flittering around and became more disgusted. Now whenever he saw a beautiful peaceful butterfly doing it's own thing, he was going to be disturbed by the memories of this fight. Better make them count.

Thankfully, it was getting cocky. Mid flitter, Koza landed a nice calculated swat with his paws only partially out. With such a swipe he's ripped off a cheetah's jaw, but that wasn't his intentions. If this was going to be a game, the lion wouldn't be underestimated.

"Dinners served."

Omg. At this rate we're going to tie. xD
BTW, how many rounds should we go? 4 or 5?

Lume's face snapped to the side as the lion's paw collided with face. He would most likely feel that in the morning. The leotah cursed himself for not seeing the swipe coming. It was such an obvious hit! One he should have dodged. The male could feel small drops of blood beginning to run down his cheek. It was time for some real action now.
He rushed his opponent, hissing loudly. Claws outstretched, Lume mimicked the lion's move, aiming for the end of the nose. While it was by no means fatal, a slashed-open nose was surprisingly painful. Lume knew by experience, and sported the scar to prove so.

At this rate, until we have a clear winner? Ahead by 5 points wins? Or one more round each and we call it?

The hot headed yellow 'blister' as the thing called him smelled his own blood as it trickled into his nostrils, with every breath into his lungs, a few small drips of blood his the back of his throat. It took great discipline not to choke, hopefully he could hold out long enough to smite this disgrace of a creature.

It was a pathetic little attack really, his justification for it landing any hit in his pompous opinion was it was too hysterical to take serious. But he hadn't let the leopon get out too far out of his grasp, as he was running by, Koza aimed for the upside down cross under on the black face and managed to graze the creatures cheek with an uppercut.

Koza snarled as he spit blood out of his mouth. "Hiss at me again, I'll rip the tongue right from your sorry excuse for a mouth and wipe my tail with it."

Conrad The Mighty
Hrm. Generally I do 4 or 5 rounds, depending on what the other person wants. And at the last round, we add up the points to see who won. With the random number, a "clear winner or ahead by X points" usually takes a long time.
So how about one more round and then finishing posts?

Lume jerked back as a large yellow paw made for his eye, the tip of the lion's claw only managing to graze his cheek. This lion was faster than Lume haas anticipated. If he didn't step up his game, he might actually find himself in a spot of trouble.
It was time to take this to another level. His red eyes danced with excitement and adrenaline. "Not if I get yours first." The hybrid all but purred mischievously. Quicker than a hare, the male dashed to the side and lunged for the lion's throat, claws hooking into the dark green mane and digging into a burly shoulder.

Koza felt the searing pain of his enemy hooking his claws into his mane and shoulder spread through his body like electricity through his body. If this were a lion he was fighting with trimmed claws, then Koza's next move would have been much more effective than potentially fatal. The lion had been well versed in close quarter combat and had a particular combination move that he was sure would lay this stain to the ground.

With his back paw he dug his paw into the black hind paw that was nearest to him and jerked around to ram the other paw to rip the Leotah's jaw off but instead there was a ripping sound and his paw hit nothing.

The lion fell to his knees, gripping to hold the blood in, grasping for air. This surely looked like the end as he had a gash in his throat from one side of his jaw to the other.

Conrad The Mighty
Okay then, last one from me.

Lume let go as quickly as possible, staring in shock and horror at the lion gasping on the ground in front of him. Had he really done that? The lion had kicked out at him, sure, however, Lume couldn't shake the feeling that this was his fault. The leotah glanced at the blood slowly seeping out of the wound and took a step back. It wasn't a fatal wound though, right? Lume had once been gored and flung about by a rhino, and he had survived. The lion was tough, too. Surely he would be able to bounce right back!
He hoped. The young male's eyes darted around the immediate area. There was no one nearby. Lume could just take off and leave the lion to his own devices. After all, there was no way the giant yellow cat would be able to get back up and continue fighting. Someone would come by to help him eventually. This area saw a decent amount of traffic.
Lume darted off into the trees without a second thought, leaving his opponent behind him on ground.
