With the world surviving and hunters getting over christmas, Dakota wanted to usher the new year in right. By going on dates with his ladies. More specifically, he was getting antsy for one of them to ask him out.
It wasn't a smart move probably, giving them an option for dinner on him? But he thought he would be sweet to go when they wanted. On their terms. It was all about the ladies coming to him.
So why was he busy worrying about it and coloring in his coloring book given to him by an anynmous source of a certain part that he enjoyed a lot of on girls. Because it helped his mind not wander to maybe he went overboard. He was a teen but...He was thus proving to becoming more of an adult.
"Ah ******** it man." Dakota closed the book and put the crayon in the box...obviously very adult like. "I'll just start my workout then." Dakota threw up his hands and went into a complicated routine of ab workout, crunching his long body up and down, sideways and such in the hunter dorm he had claimed.
Until he got a house with its own personal gym, this would have to do.

Candace excused herself when she stopped being able to tolerate Leon's s**t. She headed upstairs, humming quietly to herself until she stopped in front of one of the doors. She glanced at the number on it, knowing whose room it was. Candace was glad Dakota had decided to stay in the dorms for now, she felt better with him in the dorms where it was close and safe.
She knocked on the door, opening it if it was unlocked and leaning in the doorway. She made no other announcement, simply leaning against the frame of the door and watching Dakota work on crunches. "Did you know a half hour of sex burns over a hundred calories?" Candace smiled. "I still have a Christmas present to give you, and if I remember correctly you owe me a date." She didn't want to celebrate alone, and she did have a present to give Dakota.
"I think you'll really like it."

He was in the middle of probably crunch 134 when he hit up the knees and hooked his arms, looking at the little cat who wandered in. His smile turned into sly smirk.
"If that's an offer, I have a half hour and the rest of the night free to put that theory to test." He switched from crunches to body twist, watching her with each one. "I was just thinking about dates." He stopped and gave her a funny stare, "Did you read my mind Candace or are you women just that good?"
He'd go with the second option.
Pushing himself up, he went over to where she leaned on the doorjamb, brushing his hand over her cheek before leaning down to kiss her lips.
"So date, christmas sex, How could you doubt that i'd like that?" He stepped back and waved his hand. "Let me pull out my good outfit starbucks, then I'll take you to Paris...That's where you want to go right?" he was sure that was what he offered her. in the room adjoining the one he had just been, he stripped down to his boxers, cool air wiping the sweat from his body. It was funny how much his body had developed in the past year. He had lost that youthful like pouches and was proud to say he had a nice pack of abs, in the form of six. But Candace had seen that all and a date to Paris required a more apprioate wear. He paired it with some nice jeans and kicks that weren't formal but enough to pass as it. Plus comfy.
His hair was tied back again, neatly with Clerise's new ribbon before he exited out. Wallet, Dorm key, girl. "I think I got everything, Where does the lady wanna fine dine tonight?"

"Well I am pretty much amazing." Candace told Dakota with a smirk as she pushed off the door to step into the room. She really was glad he had decided to stay here. Was this a permanent decision? God, she hoped so. He approached her and her smirk softened into a warm smile, returning the kiss she was given. "Hello~." Christmas sex? Candace said nothing on that, simply smiling innocently. He was convinced that was his gift? She'd let him believe for now. "There are lots of places I'd like to go, but I've never been to Paris. Is it okay with you?" Dates took two happy people, not just one. Candace wandered around the room while Dakota was getting ready, looking to him when he spoke and let her know he was ready to just...leave. "Aw, cute. You think I'm ready to leave." Candace chuckled, reaching for Dakota's hand and leading him out of his room and down a few doors to her apartment. "I need to change and get your present, but I won't be long." She assured Dakota with a kiss against the back of his knuckles, letting to of Dakota's hand to disappear into her bedroom. Her top and jeans just didn't cut it. Candace had the perfect dress for this occasion, and the perfect shoes. She also needed a larger purse for some reason, packing something into it along with her wallet and phone. Her hair and makeup were done in record time, not wanting to keep Dakota waiting too long. As she stepped out of her bedroom and pulled on a warm coat and a pair of leather gloves, holding her purse with a bit more protectiveness than usual. Dakota's gift was in it! She was not letting anyone near it. "I don't have any particular restaurants in mind." Candace admitted as she reached out to link arms with her date. "So surprise me. Oh..will I need to wear one of those bracelets again?" A warning this time was all she was asking.

"We've been to a lot of places, but yeah, Paris isn't one of the places I've been either." He straightened himself and then smirked, "The city of romance and lust? Please Candace, As long as the lady is happy, I'm happy." He snorted, "Right Woman." He gave her a appercitive look though, reminding her that she was gorgeous anyway she looked.
"Well..." Before he could say anything else, they were down at her apartment. Once she disappeared into her room, he leaned on the back of the sofa in her living room, arms crossed as he waited.
Patience was always the key and women like Candace could fly on the dime. Proven when not even shortly after arriving, she appeared. And if he thought she was gorgeous BEFORE well.
"Not this time, I'm of probation as far as I know." It had been longer then a month since the horrid affair and now, he was left with a valuable lesson in mind. He'd have to take Clerise out to dinner to make up for it.
"Actually, I asked some hunters around.." As in he made sure to have some fall back plans, "I've got a restuarant in mind and one of the French moon hunters owes me pretty big." Dakota as of Candace changing moment, had texted said hunter in case and asked reservations to be place, the worst thing that could happen to that resuturant wouldn't get said two hunters.
Okay back to Candace. "Have I told you how wonderfully delectable you look tonight?" He headed out of her room, gentlemanly handling her like all the lesson he had done with Marcus and Wilson and others.
Gentleman, You are Gentleman tonight Dakota.

No more probation! Oh thank god! Candace actually sighed with relief. "Not that I'd be worried of you wandering off but good. You never did tell me what happened." She gave Dakota a narrow-eyed look of disapproval before she softened into a smile and reached for his hand, giving it a squeeze. "Story for another day."She looked impressed when Dakota informed her he asked around and actually had a place he wanted to take her. So their kind of on the fly date was all ready? Good on Dakota! Candace was pleased, their little date going off without a hitch right from the very start. Hopefully luck stayed on their side. "Can we stay for midnight as well?" Candace asked with excited wonder, trying to contain the full extend of just how excited she actually was for this. New Year's Eve. In Paris. This was even better than Time's Square. At the compliment she smirked and stepped away to give Dakota a full view, turning on her heel in a complete circle. "Thank you, thank you. Flattery will get you far with me." She teased, playfully tapping Dakota's nose with a gloved finger. Candace then leaned up to give him a kiss and then took Dakota's hand once again. "Lead the way."

"I would be worried if I was wandering away." Dakota smirked, "I'll tell it to you during dinner instead. It's not excatly a secret anymore and after all thats happen, you at least deserve to know what kinda of hunter you slept with." He shrugged.
"There's a resturant not far from where I asked to be dropped off. But we can take in the sights first, head our way over." He hadn't thought about actual new years but if she wanted to stay, then it was no problem to him. He wondered just how Paris celebrated the new year?
"Flattery? Hun, I'm just speaking the truth." His teeth glinted as they held hands and took a deep breath. "Okay, Off we go to the portal!" He led her to the lighthouse, disappearing only to give the portals attendant the location.
"Paris Candace." he said as the portal droppped them on the paris cobblestone road of De Tourville Avenue. Pulling out his phone, he looked up the resturant and smiled at her. "And we are going to the Le Jules Verne." Althought Dakota didn't speak french, being part of another culture became easy to adapt to others.

Candace snorted as Dakota told her what she deserved to know. "Dakota, dear, I'm sure whatever you did pales in comparison to H. He is a monster." She almost purred with delight, clearing her throat and looking to Dakota with a small pout. "Past tense? Don't tell me you're done with me already. I don't take rejection well." But if Dakota felt it was okay date conversation the fine. She really wasn't all that worried; what terrible atrocities could Dakota of all people be capable of? She couldn't picture it. He was too kind-hearted. She grinned as Dakota told her he spoke the truth, squeezing his hand. "Thank you. You don't look half bad yourself." Candace tilted her head against Dakota's shoulder as they walked, arching a brow at the way he suddenly took a breath. "Nervous?" She asked with amusement, lifting their hands and kissing the back of his hand before they stepped into the portal. Once on the other side she couldn't stop smiling, squeezing Dakota's hand and trying desperately to contain her squeal of delight. She almost missed where they were eating. "We're what?" Her eyes were wide and her jaw dropped as she turned to Dakota. She let go of his hand to grab the front of Dakota's coat and give him a very grateful kiss. "You're amazing~!"

Dakota almost looked like he blushed but it was hard to tell with the night settling in. "Well not past tense, I meant more like the one you had just slept with not long ago. I mean you know...sleeping with." He fidgetted purely because he was probably digging himself a grave. So far, bumpy Dakota. "Hah!" He choked on a laugh, "Of course not, we still have a lot of exploring to do and I could never get tired of starbucks. If it was up to me, I'd have one every morning." He pulled her hand up and kissed her knuckles, waggling his eyebrows. "It's not bad depending on the situation you're in. or how you think of it."
"Just a little, First time being to Paris on new years on a date. and this is only my second date sorta...outside of the islands." He joked, the first had been with Clerise.
"Yeah, that friend owed me big so I got us reservations at the-" His eyes widened at her kiss before chuckling. "An amazing woman deserves an amazing date." He strolled with her, lips still tingling from her kiss as they turned the corner. Across the street from them, dimly was the cathedral style of 'Le Jules Verne'. As they walked over, Dakota pulled out his phone one more time, as if checking something before nodding.
"Ready to fine dine Candace?"

Candace smirked, shaking her head at Dakota's embarrassment. Silly boy. "I can't guarantee every day, or even every week, but.." She tugged Dakota's hand over after he had kiss her knuckles, returning the sentiment before she let their hands drop again. "I do like you, Dakota. You're...refreshing." That seemed like a good way to put it. Before coming to the island her experiences had been well..high school. And college. Boys. None of them had really had much spark with her. But since coming to the island she'd had the fumbling Jerry who had no idea what he was doing and very rarely got her to that lovely finish, and...H. Passionate, intense H. The man she happily considered a lover instead of just some man she was intimate with every once in awhile, who caused her as much pain as he did pleasure. Dakota was different, he was simply a friend who she was getting comfortable around; there was no pressure to keep him interested in her, to keep herself in his favor, to make sure that he didn't get bored with her. She didn't love him, but she cared about him. Dakota was her little breath of fresh air.
It was nice.
"Ah, I see." Candace chuckled. "No need to be nervous. Admittedly it's been some time since I was on a date, but there's nothing to be worried about. It's just me~." No pressures. Not with Dakota. Dakota was all about being totally non-stressful.
Candace actually blushed at the reminder of being amazing, rolling her eyes and taking Dakota's hand again. "Well yes, but...I never expected anyone on the island would ever take me here as a surprise." Or even on a planned date. She couldn't help but squeal under her breath again, an extra bounce in her step as she walked the streets with Dakota until they found it.
There it was.
The Eiffel tower.
Okay, keep cool. You can do this. You're a twenty-four-year-old woman, Candace. Cool, calm, classy. She took a deep breath, nearly laughing at Dakota's question. "God yes. I can't thank you enough for this, Dakota. I might just give you your present early. Like..while we're there." She flashed Dakota a grin, knowing full well what he assumed her present to him was. This was a fun game.

Dakota would be lucky even if it was once a month. Though he didn't voice it out loud and just hummed. "Oh Refreshing you say?" He grinned at that and smiled. "Molly sometimes thinks of me like the wind. Nice little breeze to blow by every now and again." he smirked instead, thinking of the redhead. "Something about not being held down either. She likes the freedom I have." He worried at her hand, half out of nervous energy and the comfort of her being there.
It was okay, he just needed to be himself. Isn't that what this was all about now? He didn't have to be different.
"Okay lets not be nervous then." He grinned as he led her into the Eiffel tower resturant. Greeted by stuffy maitre'd, Dakota put on his best grown up pants and greeted the server with the same stuffy attitude. "Excuse me sir, My fine lady and I would like to be showed to our seats. A reservation for Dakota Rainstar?" He winked at Candace as the maitre'd looked them up and nodded. Beckoning them to their seats.
It was the second floor, seated next to the windows for them to see the paris lights as they set a bottle of champagne in the middle of their table. On the house, they said and left so that the two could look over their orders.
"Now that we're alone..." Dakota waggled his eyebrows at Candace, "Something about my present now?" Some part of him registered that it might not be sexual, but the one that did hope was really imagining the colorful things she could do at the table with minimal people looking at them. Really..really colorful things.

Candace followed alongside Dakota, keeping her composure while delightedly admiring the restaurant around them. It become so much harder to contain herself when they were given a window seat. Ahhh! Atropos! Look how pretty it is down there! She squealed to her weapon, setting her bag down after having removed her coat and gloves. She hadn't even looked at her menu yet, she was distracted with just admiring the city below them. So gorgeous... Dakota's voice brought her back to the here and now. She turned to him, chuckling and leaning forward with her chin on the back of folded hands. "Mmm, yes..your present..." Candace looked around as if searching for something, hailing a server to open their champagne for them. Once it was poured she took a sip, eyeing Dakota while quietly considering her options. She could draw this out and see how long it took for him to ask what it was, or she could just hand it over. ...Oh but where was the fun in that? "I want to hear more about you~." Present? What present?

Dakota watched her, seeing the light in her eyes as she watched the city below them. To be honest, he wasn't expecting himself to pull it off. The romance thing...because while he was a flirt, he wasn't quite romantic. He had been told that he was starting to be, and what was that step from flirting to romancer? Not a very large step at all.
But the look in Candace's eyes, the simple joy of being a city that exuded it and the joy of being taken somewhere nice had severely made him change his outlook on just how he went about things.
"I should've known that taking pretty women out to pretty places would make me just as happy," Dakota smiled at her, eyes crinkling at the corners as he leaned back in his seat, giving her that familiar cocky smile he usually carried. "You did mention a present right? I happen to love presents." He watched her from his seat of course, watching her coy lean, the heavy set seductive eyes that let him know that she was teasing him.
"More about myself eh?" He tapped his hand on his black slacks, furrowing his eyebrows in thought. "Well you know about my sister, my history of school....How I got my name...Did you know that I was on my way to training to be a Indian medicine man?" He smiled, thinking fondly of his grandfather and grandmother. Traditional herbalist and natural remedies were their trade, as well as old Native american spiritual beliefs and rituals. "I think part of the reason they put me in moon because I am actually well versed on the healing effects of herbs on the field...Got it all from my Grandfather, he raised me like I was his own son."
"How about you ask me anything you want Candace? I've got nothing but open books for you to know about me..." He tapped his menu and grinned, "We got at least till a little before the new year starts."

It was hard for Candace to not get distracted by the glittering lights of Paris below them, but it was hard considering just how badly she wanted to stare in awe. This was more than she thought Dakota would ever be able to pull off. She did often daydream of H taking her to places like this, but she never expected it would happen with someone like the man she was with right now. There were no thoughts of sex or anything other than what was happening then, right at that moment. She was in the Eiffel Tower on New Years Eve in Paris, France sitting high above the city and looking down on it. Candace was on cloud nine now. It wasn't love, but adoration came close to what she was feeling for now.
"Haha, it's nice to see a smile on a lady's face, hmm~?" And damn was she smiling. Candace reached out with one hand for one of Dakota's, slipping her fingers between his. It was a date, right? So she should play it up for him. It'd make him happy, and it would be fun for her as well. "And I did say I'd give it to you early. Keep being a good boy and I'll give it to you before dessert, okay?" She winked, playfully sliding a foot up his leg. She still knew what he was hoping his present was. It was fun to tease him, harmless fun.
Ah there it was, the sister mention. "Ohhh, no. You never told me how you got your name. Do you mean Dakota?" He was Native American so Rainstar seemed relatively straight forward. His father, right? The Medicine Man training really got her interest, sitting up straight with a look of pleasant surprise. Dakota doing something so cool! "Really? Wow! I had no idea! I know who to stay close to if I get hurt on a mission now." Candace actually giggled, finding the sound completely stupid. It was like she was some kind of high school girl. Stop that.
Adorable~.
Hush.
"We do have time!" Candace had released him and opened her menu now, looking it over with a thoughtful hum. "Do you miss them? Your family?" She actually couldn't remember if she'd asked that before. But who wouldn't miss their family? She remembered why he had joined the life of the Hunters, it wouldn't be a surprise to her if he missed them.

The little slip up his leg made his eyebrow raise, a very slight flush because of Candace's boldness and Dakota was well on his way to forgetting what even was even doing. His hand slid in hers easily, giving it a tender squeeze and soft rub of her knuckles with his fingers.
"It's always nice to see a smile on YOUR face Candace." He smoothed into that, admiring how he was pretty much setting himself up for win. Or trying to win, SO FAR IT LOOK LIKE HE WAS WINNING! Charlie sheen status, watch out Dues.
"Dessert?" He perked, grinning. "I thought we might make it back to the hotel room instead for dessert, I do love unwrapping chocolate and eating it all up..." He chuckled mostly to himself.
"Nah, Dakota was something my mom thought was cute, plus if I was a girl it'd be a good name for a...girl too." He hissed, "nah I thought I told you about my last name? It's a family name....not from my dad or anything like that. We don't believe in traditional ideals that a woman takes a mans name...Plus mom and the sleezebag didn't really get married. He was a freebird as far as I know, flying the coop as soon as Shiva was born." Dakota smiled, trying to make the anger at a father he didn't really know lessen into a joke. No reason to talk about dreadful things on a perfectly happy date.
"Rainstar came from grandpa and ma, because our family has a uncanny ability to be born during meteor showers or under falling stars? Raining stars, hence Rainstar." He nodded, getting excited because if there was people he loved more then anything, it was his family.
"We were all we really had, my family. Because we were nomads, we'd go from one place to another, reserve to reserve. Never settling. Longest I've ever been in a place was Colorado." He blinked at her question, cocking his head. "Yeah, Yeah I do. I didn't have many friends, because we moved so much. Me and Shiva, we were all we had. Best friends and brother and sister ya'know? Guys didn't like me all that much because I was a flirt, to outgoing. Girls didn't like me that much cause well lets be honest...I can be pretty bad." Dakota tapped his fingers, "I miss the times I had with my family, sitting by a fire outside of our tents....Grandpa smoking from his wood pipe while Grandma told us stories of our ancestory...Of Mother earth and the blessings she gave..."
Chama warmed in his mind, reminding him of the fires he was so fond of.
"What about you? Do you miss your old life?"
