Sun, It Rises (Doctor Meeting)

Who?
Audrey Hatch, Peder (Ka-ray-zee) & Adal (Zanaroo)

When?
Dec 1412. Late March, 1413.

Where?
Stillwater, a small trading town northeast of Foxbrook. Auvinus.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 26, 2013 2:15 am

Teleporting wasn't simple for those who weren't born for the art. Adal returned to Auvinus from the southern end of Helios in a sluggish way, partially due to his business with a cynical Finch, and partially due to his inability to strain his Aperture any further. He didn't have many shillings to spare, either, and ended up crossing the Arcana River not by boat, but by traveling alongside it meticulously by foot, through an old trading route poorer foot merchants frequently suffered through to reach Thorn.

The less fortunate had to depart from the Arcana River at an earlier point than most to accomplish such a task, at a fork that further separated it into the Divides. Adal saw the humble entrance of the familiar Waterstretch forest lie just beyond the river crossing he was soon to take, and noticed that the trade post embracing the area seemed more a field with wooden huts and a few fellow foreigners, with whom he was traveling with already, than anything else.

Except, of course, the two humble churches that rested at the foot of the river, one with red windows and the other with a rooftop cross.

Adal grimaced at noticing the two establishments. It was the late afternoon; the sun beamed against the Auvinian fields in a fierce way during the spring, and he was pining for shade. He quickly handed back the luggage he was tasked with to Thomas, the merchant who had hired him on the route, then motioned towards the two neighboring buildings.

"It's a tad bold of them to do that."

The man stared toward the buildings, wiping a combination of grime and sweat from his forehead. "Nearer to the forest shall harbor the ill and stranger. Don't think too much on it-- twin churches like that are fairly common in Auvinus. Soon enough, one or the other will dry out," he laughed halfheartedly, the good Panymisian he was.

Adal narrowed his eyes. "Ah. Forgive me, I've never quite tried to understand the south-- may I know where we are?"

"Stillwater. It's a quiet and honorable place. The town's a tad barren now due to the spring harvests," Thomas sat on the edge of his wagon and yawned, "Everyone's out plowing the fields around now-- ah! Where are you going?"

"To pray."

"I'll call you when we prepare supper, boy!"

---

The entrance to the neighboring buildings were faced away from the rest of the town, which Adal considered fortunate. The entrances instead faced toward the vast and golden fields that surrounded the remainder of Auvinus, away from the Arcana River and away from Waterstretch.

What Adal considered unfortunate was how much he'd undermined the coolness of the nearing forest and the river being so close. Though the walk to reach the establishments took him well near the edge of the trading town, the glimmer of the river was still apparent, which he hoped was enough-- it wasn't.

Yet, his intentions were unclear as the moment he'd left Thomas, and he stared blankly up at the two churches. Adal finally resolved in reaching into his satchel to see which book he had on his person, only to find that he'd grabbed the Doctor's journal.

He flipped through it out of spite, and announced triumphantly, "I'll just burn both down, is that it?"

Without the girl nor her plague noticing, a heavy silence had crept in and filled the church, leaving both quiet and still. The flaxen haired orphan sat in thought at one of the dusty pews, hands rested limp across her lap while her eyes remained focused ahead of her on the small podium and alter at the head of the room.

The little creature accompanying her had only decided minutes before to shut his mouth and offer his Grimm some time to think to herself, and sat beside her atop the backing of their seat. He hadn't particularly understood the girl's desires to enter the place, especially when she had insisted it was 'no big deal' and only wanted to 'check it out for curiosity's sake', but found that she had obviously felt strongly about the old building and stowed his annoyance for the time being.

Though the tiny wolf was quiet it did not mean he was not restless, and so after much time fidgeting and carving his nails neatly into the wooden bench, the scent that suddenly wafted past him seemed like some strange but very welcome blessing.

"Someone's here."

The small voice carved through the stagnant air, and the plague scrambled to his feet, sniffing again before scurrying onto the girl's shoulder.

"Audrey, someone's outside," he tugged strongly at a loose lock of her hair, repeating himself," Somebody's out there! "

"Hey!" The girl growled, snapped out of her sentimental reflections by the unwelcome pain. "Cut that out," she hissed, raising a hand to flick the caedos in his miniature chest. "What the hell are you going on about?"

If the thing could have nipped at her in retaliation, he would have, but instead he decided to clamber down her sleeve and cling to her arm where he could look her in the eye as he spoke,"Somebody's outside. I can smell 'em! I thought you said no one's around this place this time of year."

"What...? No! There aren't. There isn't." Audrey stared down at her plague with a skeptical gaze. " What do you mean you can smell someone?? Where?"

"Outside! Like I just said, dumbass," he retorted, pulling at the cloth of her shirt in an attempt to get her in motion, "Why don't you look for yourself."

Moving to stand, the girl turned her head to look back toward the doors where she had entered not too long ago. Sure enough, through the hazy red glass set into the walls beside the entryway, there stood a shadowed figure not too far way.

"You've got to be shitting me."

Adal gleaned past the side of the church and checked again on the group of merchants. Thomas had already turned his back on the twin establishments and settled his attention on getting their meals settled, starting first with collecting firewood from his wagon; his older children were already at work with what small branches they had to spark a fire. The beginnings of one wafted as plumes of smoke that rose in massive quantities and surrounded a small vicinity of town, which was already humid and heated from the spring weather.

The Locos' peculiar sense of smell made him sniff uncomfortably at the ashen wind that quickly blew over towards him. While a fire was usually comforting, the heat that came with it was uninviting in the arid Auvinian dusk, and made his senses awry; Adal whipped his head towards the Panymese church again out of uncertainty. He squinted and saw no one there, and assumed the same of the Obscuvian establishment he was standing in front of.

With that in mind, Adal peaked his head in awkwardly from the Obscuvian threshold. The smoke from the fire billowed behind and around him, and carried itself through the narrow hall like a chalky pulp. He closed the door quickly behind him and leaned against it, though he paid no particular effort into fanning the thin layer of smoke out from around his feet. When the smoke dissipated, though, the familiar smell of Plague hit Adal like an anvil, and he immediately whipped his attention towards the young blonde and her Caedos.

"Oh."

"Hey," he stared momentarily at Audrey with the narrowest sense of familiarity, though it was soon replaced with an exasperated expression. He wrung one hand around the doorknob out of uncertainty, but instead chose to walk towards Audrey and Peder with a curious bravado. Even if Adal knew them, he had a responsibility to make sure.

"You're a Grimm, he stopped walking towards the two when he reached the end of the furthest pew, which was grimy to the touch, "Have you been met by the Doctor already?"

Audrey was less than pleased when the figure past the glass moved toward the building, and an uncertain sense of panic set in the instant she could hear the sound of the doors being creaked open. By the time the stranger had made his way inside along with his ominous trail of smoke, she had reached over to secure her hold on the caedos attached to her arm and backed up several rows of pews. The girl and her small companion now stood at the far end of the church, and the blonde's free hand clutched tightly onto the base of the bench in front of her, as if it acted as a shield from whoever might be entering. Normally, being barged in on wouldn't put the Grimm into such a state of defense, but being in Stillwater left her on her guard. She did not want to see a single familiar face here.

Strangely enough, the face of the intruder was familiar enough. However, it was not one she had expected or feared. She could not say it was even someone she could place a name or place on. He was familiar, but not known.

The Auvinian allowed her shoulders to loosen slightly in a moment of relief, though her eyes narrowed and brows knit in consideration of the boy who had entered that chapel. Once the lad had addressed the two, she was immediately taken aback by the sudden mention of her Grimmhood and his uncanny forwardness.

" Have I been met by who now? What doctor," she retorted, raising a brow at the locos before settling into a skeptical glare," What's the big idea? Do I know you or something? You don't just waltz into a room and start--"

" We do know 'em! "

The voice that chimed in was small, but assertive. " I think we know 'em. Or you do!" Peder wriggled in Audrey's grasp before finally pulling himself free and clambering back up her sleeve to stand on her shoulder. The girl pulled her focus way from the yellow-eyed boy briefly to glace at her plague who was now leaning against her hair to speak to her.

"What the hell do you mean 'we know him'? How the hell would you know anybody from out here?"

" I swear I've smelled this guy before," he insisted, looking up toward his Grimm before turning to face the stranger. He called out to him, " Hey! Have we seen you somewhere before, kid? You've got a reek somebody doesn't just forget."

"Peder, shut up," she hissed through her teeth, giving her shoulder a jerk to give the tiny wolf a shake before snapping her head back toward the Plague ahead. Though she found Peder's claim hard to believe, his 'nose' was rarely wrong, and Audrey couldn't help but feel something familiar about the strange boy at the end of the pews.

Adal remained quiet for a time while he watched Audrey and Peder bicker towards one another. There was no real reason for him to accost them with questions just yet-- they were already doing such a wonderful job of filling in the blanks already-- though the Locos did take note of her hostility. It was true that Caedos Grimms were usually the most difficult on the three sides of the spectrum to deal with, and their knowledge in the field was usually quite absent, though at times this wasn't the case with Obscuvian Grimms. Now was not one of thsoe times.

Audrey's weariness towards him was returned with his own, and he could infer briefly that she wanted to leave. He cautioned one step towards them in a hasty attempt to close the space between them, as it was rare enough to run into a Grimm by happenstance, and another one entirely to only faintly recall their names. If Adal didn't know them through documentation or through meeting them already, how did he know them?

"I'm not from Stillwater," Adal replied testily, "I've never been here until now. If you're an Obscuvian Grimm, how is it possible that you don't know of the plague doctor already?"

He stared at Peder. It was true that the Caedos was the one who smelled the most familiar, though rarely did Adal recall not recording an Excito he'd met or heard of, let alone a Putesco. He ignored Peder's direct question entirely, though, and continued talking to Audrey.

"Then again, you don't smell strongly of typical Obscuvian. Judging by the state of this place," he glanced at the dusty pew next to him, "You can't have been here recently. I've seen you elsewhere without your Caedos, but--"

Adal paused. His eyes widened at the recollection.

"--You were the girl with the tail relic, aren't you?"

As Adal replied the girl kept a steady gaze on him; her green eyes narrowed in suspicion. When he had ventured forward another step, she flinched, before deciding to stand her ground rather than retreat backward again. She continued to clutch at the pew in front of her with a resolute, but nervous grip.

Once the boy had identified her as an Obscuvian, however, her expression broke. Though it only made sense for him to make the assumption, considering they were in a cultist church, she found herself momentarily shocked at the accusation. Though the girl had planned to stay cool, she immediately became flustered at the comment.

"I'm NOT an Obscuvian Grimm," she spat back at him, "Maybe that's a clue as to why I have no idea what the hell you're spouting at me!" The orphan grimaced, then her frown seemed to form into something resembling a snarl. It was quite obvious by her tone and mannerisms that she was by now, greatly offended, and equally confused. Her Plague however, did not seem to share her defensive attitude, and instead was rather curious and enthralled with the situation. The Caedos had almost completely ignored his Grimm's distress in favor of listening intently to the other figure in the room, attempting to recall his voice or distinctive scent. It was when Adal had paused in his speech and announced his recognition of the girl that Peder suddenly perked up, leaning forward to reply to the Locos almost immediately.

"Yes! How do you know that," he shouted back. His voice was excited at the development, " Have you met us before? You must've!" He quickly turned his attention to his Grimm who was now staring back toward the boy with a puzzled look. "You know him, don't you Audrey?"

"Oh my god...," came her first reply, nearly whispered to herself as her eyes widened and blinked as she fished up the memory of the stranger's face. Peder was right, and the blonde plague across the room had affirmed it. It all flooded back to her in that instant.

"You're that a*****e I met in Imisus, aren't you?"

While Adal didn't press any further down the altar, it was clear in the way his stance changed that the Locos was quite annoyed. He'd lost track of time since his incident that winter, though he was remiss in forgetting it so well. How could he have? It was one of the first things he'd told Georgie briefly of after their first major departure from each other. He shot Audrey a deep frown-- though the displeasure wasn't aimed directly at her, per se, it was unfortunate that he saw her again while he was indeed alone.

"I am," he responded after a brief silence. With that, he enclosed the rest of the space between him and Audrey with nary a hint of caution, and stopped only when they were but one row of pews away from each other. The gleam of his eyes became slightly focused as he furrowed his brows, "And you've quite the tenacity to spout such anger when I assumed you were Obscuvian. Forgive me if I can't quite imagine you to be an inquisitor--"

Adal paused. His voice was strangely calm through the whole spiel, but he could feel an intemperate anger threatening to give rise at the back of his throat if he hadn't stopped there, and he'd learned a lesson or two with Finch and having returned to Georgie for a brief time after that winter. He was scarcely the wisest choice to speak diplomatically to a Grimm and their Plague, especially in comparison to his own Grimm and the Doctor.

Did he really have to prove that so soon? He glanced at the ragged satchel and his dirty, torn gloves. While he could scarcely remember if the girl in front of him was in worse or better shape now than before-- and, considering her Plague had grown since then, he bid the latter-- Adal knew he'd grown more haggard and hungry since his event at Helios.

The Locos dropped his hostile expression to a torn one, and he shook his head. He said in a near mutter, "If it wasn't obvious by the time I entered this place, I don't quite think being an Obscuvian is a bad thing. It doesn't matter to you much, but I'll leave," Adal turned around and headed towards the door, "Congratulations on the Plague. I would hide him when you leave, since I came here with Panymisians--"

The smoke had gotten worse by the time Adal was able to reach for the door. He took one last glance at the hazy stained-glass windows toward the sister church in a vaguely sour way, only to realize the blurry silhouette of a human rounding its corner. The Locos waited hesitantly for a clearer view.

He regretted it immediately when he noticed Thomas glancing briefly at the church. He backed up immediately toward the pews.

"s**t," he hissed. Outside, Thomas leaned in to stare past the sister church's own stained glass windows.

"Adal? We need help with the fire! It seems that my boys are gobshite for the task! Are y'praying so hard?"

As Adal closed the space between himself and the girl she held her ground, though the stiffness of her posture made it quite obvious that she was on the defensive. Audrey kept her gaze locked solid onto the boy as he approached, and pressed her lips into a tighter frown while he spoke. Recalling the last time she had met with the boy left her feeling incredibly weary of him and his condescending attitude, and the way he approached with confidence only left her more irritated.

Peder by now had made his way off of her shoulder and leaped onto the wooden backing of the pew in front of her for a better, more independent place to participate in the unfolding scenario. His focus did not seem to stay on either one of the two larger people in the room, but rather switched between them as to take in their expressions. He had zero information to go off of as to how they knew each other, but by this time he had already gathered that that did not like each other much.

As Peder remained surprisingly quiet, Audrey was preparing to break her silence as soon as she could find the words to throw back at the Locos. However, once he had cut himself off and his features dropped she found herself caught off guard by the sudden change of tone. The girl knit her brows, narrowing her eyes in a moment of confused consideration while the plague shook his head. By the time she realized she needed to snap out of it and offer a retort, it was too late and Adal had begun to speak again.

When he made his way toward the door she didn't quite know what to make of his sudden retreat, though his remarks and suggestion as he moved did not leave her feeling particularly sympathetic. Despite the fact his shift in mood had briefly baffled her, it did not do a very good job at pushing back her anger for long, and she refused to let him leave with the last word.

As she leaned forward, preparing to shout a 'hey' at the boy to catch his attention once more, she was cut off again by another strange action. She paused, staring over at him as he flinched then back up toward the pews again, noticing his expression darken and barely catching the word slip past his teeth. She blinked, then quickly regained her previous momentum to call him out.

"Hey," she barked, now even more irked at his perplexing behavior," What the hell do y'mean 'congratulations'? And why do you think you can just walk away from me after running your mouth!"

She moved from behind the pew she had latched onto, now stepping forward with a heavy stride as her plague watched with a grin. " Speaking of which, I thought you were leaving? What's with you just stopping out of nowhere? I've never seen someone act so ******** strange."

Thomas watched through the Panymisian church in resolute silence, his head and arms still pressed against one of its stained glass windows. While the merchant was more than competent, Adal knew that the merchant wasn't aging well and his vision was failing.

Adal watched Thomas closely and stepped back towards the pews, initially unaware that Audrey had ventured closer to him. He accidentally slid past Audrey's shoulder, but didn't think to apologize to the girl after the fact. He slid onto one of the pews and sat slouching against it and next to Peder.

Despite his inclination to remain quiet, it was obvious that the girl was a mix of frustrated and angry, and Adal's patience thinned rapidly once she shouted back at her. Though the red stained glass offered them some solace from Thomas for a while, Adal knew he had to leave once the man actually ventured into the Panymisian church. Adal tapped his feet against the ground in a nervous tick.

"I've never seen someone act so ******** strange."

Adal looked up in plain offense when Audrey completed her exasperated rebuttal. "Were you listening to me? I was telling you to hide your Caedos because I traveled her with Panymisians. You should know by now that the traveling kind aren't always the kindest," he pointed toward the other church, "And I messed up by coming here instead, and one's trying to find me because their idiotic, overgrown, human children can't even start a fire."

When Adal looked back at the church he was pointing at, Thomas was in the middle of turning around to stare briefly at the Obscuvian church. Before Thomas could see him, however, Adal slid against the pew and plopped in defeat onto the floor.

"I can't even teleport out of here," he muttered, "And I doubt you know how to. This isn't good."

Audrey stared down harshly at the Locos as he slid down to the floor, now sitting just below her Caedos who enjoyed the rare chance to look down on someone rather than up. While his Grimm deepened her frown and took the time to shift her gaze out toward the man past the red glass, Peder found himself more interested in pestering the defeated boy than considering the danger of the stranger outside.

" 'I can't even teleport'! ," he mocked, craning his little body over the edge of the seat as to take a good look at the anhelo's face," What a child. Do you always plan on running from things like a damn girl?"

The plague grinned down at Adal, obviously delighted to have an opportunity to size someone up. The girl standing above the two, however, was far too distracted with the larger issue at hand, and felt her stomach knot as she observed Thomas inspecting the twin church. Emotions had already been running high with the amount of frustration the unwelcome visitor had caused her, but now there was also a greater sense of distress among the anger. Adal had already mentioned that the man was a traveler, and thus posed no threat that a resident of Stillwater would to her, though the news that he was a devout panymisian was not the greatest to anyone stuck in an Obscuvian chapel. Audrey knew very well how people of the wider religion thought of those who followed obscuvos, and her time in the frigid north only made her more cautious of exposing her spiritual explorations.

When she turned her attention back to the two boys, Peder shifted his focus upward to her with gleaming red eyes. He looked rather incredulous,

"Can you believe this guy, Audrey?"

The Hatch girl narrowed her eyes, taking in the look of defeat and uncertainty on the haggard boy's face. She scoffed, the released a heavy sigh.

" He's completely pathetic, isn't he?"

The excito snickered, but Audrey simply straightened herself out and inhaled a deep breath before turned toward to building's front doors. "Peder," she announced, stepping forward as he looked after her with curiosity," Stay here. I'll deal with his stupid problem."

"Wait... What?? But--"

Before he could resist her command, the girl was already pushing her way through the threshold of the church with a quick stride and an exasperated grimace. She exited into the smokey air, then turned her attention to the traveler across the way almost immediately. It would be wrong to say she wasn't nervous about it, and even more so to claim that she did not care who saw her emerging from a cultist venue, but if she stayed in that forsaken place while Thomas searched around for his guest she would feel just as pathetic as Adal looked slumped on the floor. As much as she hated to do him a favor, she could not just sit there afraid of what some panymisian would do to either of them if they were found. She'd much rather take her own initiative. She swallowed the lump in her throat, and did just that.

"Hey! what's the problem? You looking for somebody or what?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 14, 2013 1:21 am

Adal stared tiredly at the Caedos sneering his direction with a sort of lackluster menace. Hearing such things come out of an Excito's mouth was sour at best, though he reasoned not to give Peder more fodder to yip excitedly at. Though he knew it was doubtful that Thomas could hear through the chapel at all, he didn't want to risk the chance of getting heard. He'd left the pride that could have otherwise been hurt enough by Peder's remarks when he'd taken a job from a relatively impoverished human merchant after his arrest, after all.

"He's completely pathetic, isn't he?"

Eyes narrowed, he turned to respond to Audrey. "It's none of your concern--"

"Peder, stay here. I'll deal with his stupid problem."

Adal was caught completely off-guard with Audrey's next quip. He stood up from his spot at the foot of the and said tiredly, "Did you hear me? You can't do anything!" before realizing the girl's initiative put him too many steps behind to block her from leaving the chapel. The door seemed to slam shut as quickly as it had been opened, and Adal stood there motionless with indecision. He wasn't able to smell or trace where Thomas and Audrey were in relationship to him due to the smoke, so Adal stood pensively by the stained glass.

If that stupid girl were to get harmed on his behalf, the responsibility passed onto him seemed as equivalent a burden as his conniption in Helios with Finch, and he wasn't sure any delegate here could solve his problem.

Thomas didn't look immediately to Audrey when he heard her voice. He instead stared hard at her warped reflection against the stained-glass window his hand was pressed against, so he could first judge her from where she came-- the unorthodox church riddled with red and mottled wood. Once she stood within feet of him, however, Thomas turned around at her and stared at her with hard eyes. Though he was reaching a significant age, he was still considerably big and held the confidence of youth from his travels.

"This isn't any of your concern," he groused, clearly annoyed with Audrey's confrontation, "I have no business speaking with the likes of you, so you'd best go back from where you came, girl, and I'll leave you be. You understand?"

"Well," Audrey immediately answered, looking up at the man with hands poised confidently on her hips,
" I was just trying to be helpful. " She locked eyes with the traveler, sneering in response to his offensive tone and comments.

" And as a matter of fact, I am where I came from. You're awfully rude for someone just passing through another person's town.
"
Then the girl's eyes dropped, scanning the man from head to foot as if to size him up, then turned her full attention back toward his face with a condescending smirk,
" Though I guess I really can't expect foreigners to understand the concept of manners or hospitality, much, can I?"

Inside, Peder had leaped across several pews in a short attempt to follow after his Grimm, but simply growled in frustration once the doors had been shut abruptly behind her.

"Damn," he hissed, sliding down the bench in a moment of defeat," she's always pulling this ******** s**t."

The Caedos seemed to pout momentarily, knowing that he could not easily follow by pushing the doors open himself. His stature and lack of strength always seemed to be insufferable roadblock for him. The girl would steal the spotlight and all the fun for herself once again it seemed, and he would be stuck here with the ponce.

"So," the plague glanced up at Adal, " I guess you don't run from your problems like a girl. Instead you just let one deal with them for you, eh? "
PostPosted: Wed Aug 14, 2013 2:59 am

Thomas barely allowed Audrey to finished responding before marching up to her, his face reddening even more than it already was with the Auvinian heat. He towered over her small frame and shoved her by the shoulders back towards the Obscuvian chapel, one knee firmly bent forward to give him more momentum. Though he barely registered what the girl had to say, he was markedly offended that she spoke back at all.

"Get, girl," Thomas spat before shoving her again, threatening to walk even closer to her than he already did, "Go back to your folks and ask 'em about manners, you hear? I don't need your help, you hear? I found my boy in my chapel already," he bolstered, "Don't go nosin' into other people's business!" Though Thomas was still rather unsure of whether or not he'd seen the Locos inside of the Panymisian church, he had every bit of pride in him to know he would, and that meant the world to him.

Adal stared angrily at Peder and walked over to the Excito, one hand gripped and the other ready to strangle the little wolf. He knew the task wouldn't be as easy as he would imagine, though, and merely stood in front of the Plague with fiercely bright eyes, the yellow of his pupils so muted that he looked like a Quietus.

"Don't you dare speak to me that way," he hissed, "I asked for neither you or your Grimm's help or input." Adal turned back only at the blaring sound of Thomas' voice, "And now I have no choice but to reciprocate."

The Locos reluctantly opened the main pocket of his satchel, and glanced at Peder; though he was still visibly irritated, he looked quite hapless.

"Get in here," he looked over at the windows, mentally pacing through a few escape routes, "I'll get your Grimm and get you away from this chapel somehow."

Audrey recoiled from the shove, taking a few steps back as her small frame was easily pushed away. Even if she had known that the man would have an overwhelming prejudice against her, she had not expected any more than loud and angry words from him. This is why after the second shove she looked toward the dirt between her feet briefly in shock, but despite that moment of hesitation quickly felt a burning rage fill her chest.

"Who the hell do you think you are," the girl barked, moving in to close the space between herself and the traveler with hastened steps and eyes gleaning irate, " Why the hell do you think you can push me around? Do you think you're ******** better than me? Someone who shoves a girl without good reason doesn't seem very godly or righteous!"

Peder stared up at the furious Locos, tiny brows raised, looking faintly surprised and nearly impressed at his rebuttal. Normally, if the boy had made a command at the Caedos he would have defied him indefinitely, but instead a deep grin set into the Excito's face. He would go along with this for the sake of a means to exit the chapel, and also for the hopes of seeing either this child or the other get into a scrap with the old man outside. Regardless, anything was more interesting than sitting around inside.

"Anything to get outta here, kid," the wolf replied, clambering up the pew's arm rest before leaping into Adal's satchel.
