(( TAKES PLACE NEW YEAR'S EVE, just getting started tonight! COUNTDOWN WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW NIGHT EST SOMETIME. ))

Nobody'd posted flyers or anything this time, but the common area was open.

They'd used the place for Thanksgiving last year, and Harrison figured at least a few might poke around.

His contribution was a box of crackers and cheese whiz, and the intention to get incredibly drunk. He was wearing his nice track pants and windbreaker.

He examined the tapedeck from the library.

"Think Metallica's okay?"

Rep may or may not have been drinking somewhat in advance of the official new years in this particular part of the world. But he figured it was in the spirit of the thing. Back home, well, what he'd once called home a world away and a lifetime ago, they always got going in advance. This would be it, another year without him, where the gap he'd left in the world filled in and was forgotten. He had a new life here, a new life that came with a future brighter than the shiny ring he wore - and couldn't stop fidgeting with every spare moment he got, like a nervous tic.

He'd brought some booze with him, an assortment of varieties. After all, this time he could easily spare it.

He drifted past Harrison with a bleary sidelong glance. "Aye, whatever works man, as long as its, like music and s**t who cares? Festive."

Melvin had showed up to, not caring for any shared food, but in rather high spirits ever since he got leave. He also had booze to spare considering he learned from everyone else to make sure you were stocked for the end of days in that department. Considering it was New Years, he felt it would be a rather sad statement to spend it alone in his room making a Lumen graph of one of his experiments.

Sitting in a chair and placing a mental bet to see how long it would be before Rep bumped into something, he glanced at Harrison at the mention of Metallica and brightened just a bit. Checking himself, he restrained any sort of glee at hearing the band, and pretended to be aloof. "Sounds good. Put it in." He would not mention he knew all the lyrics to their songs.

He continued to drink from a sterilized cup be had cleaned himself and the bottle of whiskey that was...well, also for himself. What? New Year's wasn't a theme of sharing. It was about getting drunk, being loud, and making promises you'd never keep.

"That's what she said," Harrison snickered, "The ayes have it," He popped the tape in and got an early start on the crackers.

Enter Sandman blared from the speakers.

He tipped one of the bottles from Rep's stack towards himself, until it was in full reach, then commandeered it via the neck.

Then he got started on that too, swishing around the cheese wiz and cracker mash before swallowing the mix.

"Thought you might be here," he told Melvin. "...You're the guy who organized Thanksgiving, right? With the sign-up sheets and all?"

"He'ssalso the grumpiest guy on the facility." Rep snorted, parking himself at the table and commandeering a bottle of his favourite tipple. "But good despite that." He looked over Melvin critically. "Sometimes."

He didn't want the blonde man getting big headed.

He poured himself another glass, glad to have booze of his own and not something cheap or borrowed. The turnout so far wasn't the best, but at least he wasn't drinking in his room.

"Yeah, I organized Thanksgiving." He told Harrison, having not really had the opportunity to talk much to the Moon. He'd only met him a few times, mainly to get better as using Fear Bandages.

To Rep, Melvin just looked over at him. "Grumpy? You always look like your about to blow a blood vessel."

"Nothing since though, huh?"

Harrison smirked.

"He's not grumpy now~" he teased.

"I only look that way around picky nerds and like s**t. I'm a nice guy man. I am." he waved a hand vaguely in Melvin's direction. "You are always mean, so I'm always less smiley than my usual cheerful ******** disposition."

To Harrison he said, "I guess thanksgiving was a bit off-putting like, given some of the more dour faced bastards ruining it." He helpfully didn't include himself in that category. "I'm in a good mood tonight though!"

He tapped out the rhythm to enter sandman on the table which made a few pained wooden sounds of protest.

"No. Nothing since." He was wondering what Harrison was getting at with these questions. "Why?" He ventured. If the Moon expected him to now be party organizer for each and every holiday then he had the wrong idea.

At the less-grumpy Rep, Melvin looked back at the large Sun who was now shaking the table and his glass with it. Reaching for his cup to make sure no precious booze was spilled, he took another sip and regarded him. It wasn't in his interest right now to point out Rep had been a little p***k during Thanksgiving. It was a month ago and it was New Years. It said too much if Melvin kept bringing it up, as if he was a major deal. It was, but he wasn't going to show it now after this long.

"People were all over the place for Christmas too. I think most of the island was on leave even if we were supposed to be on high alert." Thus all the booze now in their possession.

It took Before some time until he could get back into the baking swing of things. Mostly because he was lamenting all the ingredients he bought that had gone to waste. But eventually, Vanna got sick of his moping and gave him the proverbial kick in the pants he needed. Ofie and Jake may have helped in that aspect too.

Hence, he was at the commons area, balancing a tray of deviled eggs in one hand, and a tray of gingerbread men on the other. Or, they look like they were supposed to be gingerbread men. The red icing decorating the cookies seems to suggest things were exploding out of them.

"Hiyo~" he greeted cheerfully as he laid the tray of food down.

It was the sound of music wafting down the hall that drew Jerry in- Sure, occasionally a hunter had an MP3 player but usually actual audible music was reserved for people's personal quarters.

"What's going on here? A party?" He peered at the growing mound of bottles, expression picking up a moment before instantly tampering.

He shouldn't. But he wanted to. But he had just replenished what he had taken from Rep's stash... but he really shouldn't- but it was New Years wasn't it? "Haven't heard Metallica in a while..." He smiled hopefully, "But what's a Party without live music?"

"Let the track finish first, okay?" Jordan had arrived just shortly after Jerry. "I actually like this one." He shot a friendly smirk across at Harrison - they didn't always agree on music, but there was some Metallica that Jordan could appreciate.

"Those look really good," he said, gravitating over to where Before had brought snacks. "You made them? It's been a while, dude. How have you been?"

"Just wondering if you'd given up. I thought it was pretty good. Anybody organizing events with that much food is fine by me."

He moved to open the door for Before, who looked like he was pretty loaded down.

"Hey, good to see you, come on in," Harrison told Before. It was. And Before always came bearing ******** delicious baked goods.

Harrison shrugged at Jerry. "You're welcome to it. Go get your guitar, or whatever."

He plucked up one of the deviled eggs. "I don't think I've had one of these in forever," he said, popping the whole thing in his mouth.

He was insulted by the statement. "I don't just give up and it wasn't a job I was taking. I just did it because I wanted to." Not that he felt enthused enough currently after Thanksgiving. It had been a hard kick to his reality that people around here weren't as chummy as he had hoped. It failed to meet his high bar of expectations.

When Before entered, he waved, looking at the odd coupling of cookies and deviled eggs. It was a strange combination to say the least, but food was food. Jerry popped in and, offering his guitar, was encouraged by Harrison to do so. Melvin just gave him a look that said what was wrong with Metallica? It was like his dreams were being crushed. First time in a long time he got to hear some music, and they were letting Jerry butt in. Sure, let the guy have his music, but why did it have to be now?!

Melvin poured himself another drink before looking up at Jordan. "Hey."

Rep tried not to focus too much on people who were arriving, more people meant more stress, more anxiety. He took another swig of his drink. "Not taking the job is called quitting." he grunted at Melvin. "A rose by any other ******** name."

He ignored Tracey.

The word guitar made him look up, giving Harrison a fleetingly baffled look before it registered he was telling Jerry to go get his guitar. "As long as none of that sing along s**t goes on."
