Yes. Sales. The one word that could universally make those of the female persuasion squeal. As well as the one word which could instantly turn those same people into heartless, ruthless, vicious shop-a-holics. Evie was no different, but she would never be so rude as to get into a physical altercation over an item at a shop (or even a verbal one), even if it were the most beautiful shirt she'd ever seen. A shirt she'd been drawn to like a moth to a flame. Eyes for nothing but that shirt.
So when suddenly there were two hands on the hanger the shirt was hanging on, and one of them was purple, and decidedly not hers, she pulled her own hand back with a startled noise and turned her very red eyes to look at who else had eyes for that shirt. "Oh excuse me." She wasn't disappointed, the other girl, a meta like herself was beautiful and very fashionably dressed. And it looked like they would likely wear a different size. Yes good.

There really is nothing like a good sale, and when fashion is involved... you better believe you should look out. It's true that Adeline was generally very well behaved when it came to stressful situations, but that could sometimes go out the window when clothes were involved. At least, she wasn't always above using her unusual looks to scare other people away from 'her' sale spotting. She had just caught glimpse of the most beautiful top on a hanger, and had one hand out to snatch... when there was another. Dismayed, she too retracted her hand and listened to a chorus of hisses sound around her head. Maybe the other girl would just--
Ahh, no. The intimidating gorgon thing might not work this time, the other girl turned out to be a Meta like herself. She had no desire to frighten away someone she might go to school with. Adeline felt her snakes settle down grumpily, and she too exhaled a little. "No, you're fine. We got there at the same time." Her tone was faintly begrudging, but not enough to paint her as a bad sport. Even if that top was really cute. Soothing one of her hairsnakes with a pat from one finger, she straightened a bit and adopted a more lighthearted tone. "I'm hoping we don't wear the same size, I don't want to have to resort to flipping a coin in the middle of the store!"

Evelyn giggled, partially in relief that the girl who wanted the same shirt was friendly (despite the unnerving hissing of her hair-snakes) and partially because the idea of a sophisticated coin toss was much better then trying to claw each other's eyes out. Or being bitten by hair-snakes. "Oh I'm sure we do, I'm uh, not as gifted as you are in certain areas." She shuffled her feet a little bit. "It's all in my hips unfortunately." She sighed as she quickly flipped through the shirts to find her size.
"Oh good there are multiples of everything. Good thing we caught this sale early. Um, do you go to the Meta academy? I haven't seen you there, but I just transferred in." Evie asked as she stepped aside to let the purple and gold (what a stunning color combination) girl take a look at the rack.

Now that the idea of having to fight over the shirt seemed to be out the window, Adeline relaxed a bit and felt her snakes lose interest in favor of nipping at each other instead. "Oh.. hah well, don't say that like it's a bad thing, I'm more envious of you." She waited her turn and then flipped through the hangers to find her own size - which they had - and she sighed in relief. "Ahh, that's good. This is exactly why I clear my schedule to get here first." She admitted, flushing a little still at the comment. They didn't really have the same body type, it was true, but the other girl was beautiful and what she had worked for her. The shirt was probably going to look better on her, too.
At mention of the academy, Adeline smiled a little. "I do go to the academy, I've been there... for awhile." She paused, making a point not to mention it was twice as long as anyone else her age due to the virus. "But if you just transferred in, that makes sense - I'm sure you would've had no choice but to notice me at some point. Are you living on campus or at home?" She wondered what it was like going to another school not meant for Metas; it was probably pretty rough. While she pondered this, Adeline thumbed through another line of shirts and dropped them back into place with a huff. There was only green in her size, she couldn't pull off green.

"Oh I do the same thing!" Evie exclaimed when the beautiful girl said that she clears her schedule first thing. She tried not to think of the beautiful one suggesting she was more envious of Evie! How could that be? She tried to hide the flattered blush. "Well then, I can't wait to run into you at the academy, I'm rooming there. My room mate is named Skuld." What a name. Evie supposed it fit the very dark girl. In a strange sort of way.
"Oh dear that only comes in green that's such a shame. It'd look beautiful on you. Green is a terrible color in general." She tutted as she examined the shirt, she herself couldn't pull off green either, unless it was christmas time (then she was very festive). "I could probably make you something similar to this, but definitely in a different color."
