It was a cold dawn as every one seemed to be. He looked up to the sky wishing for some sort of sign. He had long given up on his mate who had vanished without a trance. He figured she had moved on and found happiness elsewhere. He himself did not linger on that though he had moved on knowing he must have another purpose if not to start a family. He shook his head his long hair reaching to the ground. He had fallen in love with that mare blindly perhaps it was better that she had vanished had he really loved her? He did not know what love was he though he felt it but now that feeling was gone. Looking to the sky again he sighed and wandered on hoping to find some new meaning in life.

Standing where the flower would be on the lands was a almost pure white mare with blood red markings.They made her stick out in a snow storm like a sore thumb. Inside Evangeline was a little peeved that her flowers were gone,but then come spring they'd come around again.The only bad thing was it might not be the same flowers next year.
Sadly there was no upset reaction upon her face it was just..blank.She looked up to see if there was anyone else around and there wasn't that she could see.Starting to walk away from them Eva decided it was best to just leave until the new year,there wasn't anything to look at here anymore. She hated that she had to wait until the spring because there wasn't anything besides her memories to remember her mother.

As he kept walking he had thoughts of his family and his mother. He hoped she was coping well she needed a stallion to teach her to love again but her heart was stone. He had not seen his brothers since they were young adults and had given up ever seeing them again. It was only him and his mother two lost souls that needed a new purpose. Eventually he came to a stream and he stopped to watch the rushing water flowing like his own memories. He colors did nothing to help hide him the the forest they only helped him in the winter so that he could blend in with the snow but still then his black colors would show through. He slowed stretched out his wings not sure about where to go or what he should be doing. Deciding to keep pushing forward he eventually came to a clearing that made him stand out like a target. Glancing around he saw there was not much in the clearing but then something caught his eye. Not sure about what it was he carefully walked closer.

A whole bunch of snow fell ontop of her as she passed under a couple trees near the clearing. If Eva could have a agitated face she would,but the emotion just kept inside her.She just slowly brushed it off her and stood there under the tree.The winter made it extremely hard for her to keep going,It made her shiver and there was barely anything to eat. Most of the people she had met moved on and she hasn't seen them since she met them,which made it hurt even more inside since she was so emotionless and made people so bored of her.

Pushing through the clearing he could finally see the figure was a mare. She was white at first he thought it might be his mother but on second glance she was to white. This mare also had some sort of strange markings on her and he knew it was not his mother. Unsure of what to do he aproched her slowly not know what she might do or what she could do. "I noticed you..from the other side ..of this clearing" he eyes her with his lank eyes not sure of what else to say or do. "Are you lost..? Do you know where you are headed..?"

Evangeline was just about to lay down beside the tree until she heard a voice from behind her.Turning slowly to look to see who it was.It was a male voice indeed,she looked at the male and listened to him."No."
She said with almost a whisper. Her voice was so soft and gentle,sometimes it started to get hard at hearing when others started to talk to her about certain events. Eva didn't know where she was headed,she barely knew anyone in these lands.

He had to strain his ears to hear her voice. She spoke in a whisper like a ghost it reminded him or his mothers voice. Shaking his head he slowly outstretched his wings wanting to try and provide a shelter for the mare. "Are you cold..? The snow will not melt for sometime.." he looks off into the distance feeling the warm sun on his back. "If you are lost..i know the way..i wander these paths often.." nodding he turns and gestures "If you wish to leave this clearing..go that way" he nods "You must have family right..?"

"Yes." She replied.She was freezing,and it was hard to keep moving.When the stallion put his wing over her,she felt the warmth streaming from them.The warmth was like seeing her mother all over again,during the heavy winters they wouldn't leave the teepee unless they needed food or to stretch. "I am lost." Eva had a blank face the whole time,only if she could have a bright smile and could give something in return for his kindness."No one." Eva had no one,she was all alone in this world.

He knew she had to be cold and he was right. He had to shelter this mare he did not why he came upon her though. Was this a sign from the spirits that he could not see? Were they telling him he had to take care of this mare now and that was his purpose? He kept his wings over her not feeling the cold himself he had grown used to the winters. "Even when you are lost..you can always find the way.." he offers her a small smile not sure of what to do next "You have no family..? Then why are you wandering these fields..?" he shakes his head "I only have my mother.."

Eva started walking beside the stallion.The warmth from his wings was so warming and gave her some hope for the oncoming events of the future. She agreed with him that even when you are lost you can always find the way,but in the winter she could never find her way.His smile was a little charming,his kindness made her slightly happy inside. "No one at all." Eva thought about why she was out here roaming the lands."To find what i'm looking for."Not knowing what that was that she was suppose to be looking for.It was hard to tell with her family gone,maybe it was just that? Or just a friend that would be able to help her. "I am sorry." She whispered softly to the stallion.

He noted that this mare was one of few words. She only said what needed to be said and not a word more. He was one to give advice when needed but one who mostly kept to himself. He had no friends and knew hardly anyone but he could never get lost. "We all have someone..even when it seems like there is no one left.." he looks to the sky for a moment "I thougt all was lost when my father left..i forgave him and my brothers..that is why it is only me and my mother.." he nods and looks back at the mare "You seek something..? I hope you find what you are looking for..i have no real goals.." he keeps walking slowly "There is no need to be sorry..all i can do is move on..when the past is not good i seek to make the future better.."

"I have met others.They never come back." She said with much honesty in her whisper.It sounded the same as she talked any other time,which made it hard to take her so seriously.Evangeline listened to the stallions story,like her father,he left his own blood in the dust.Never came back,not even once."I feel." Not ever speaking to anyone about her family,she didn't even think she would spat out a word or two to this stallion about them.Unless they took their time to know her and spend time with her.But Eva thought no one would ever do that with her since they always left. "Thank you." The mare nodded slowly."Yes.Always move on when there is no hope to see in the future."

"Let me tell you then..my mate ran off and never came back..i never really knew love..the spirits put me on another path..i forgave my mate and moved on.." he kicks a pile of snow and watches it fly "My life has never been straightfoward..i have no idea what i am meant to do...i wish something would go right for once..for my family" he sighs wishing things would get better "I dont think you care about my life though..it is just the past and no matter how much i hate it..i can never change what happened" he starts walking again wanting to push his bad thoughts out of his mind "Thank you for what..?" he eyes her "Did i miss something..?"

It all seemed so silly about how alike they were.Other than his mate didn't do what hers did.It was hard to love in a world like this when everyone wanted whatever they wanted and left.That's what it seemed anyways by all the stories she had heard from the ones he met."It will get worse before it gets better." She admitted with a blank face.She always had a blank face no matter the situation."I care." Even though Eva didn't know this stallion she cared to listen.He gave her kindness. "You will find it and it will get better." Eva followed beside the stallion."You are giving me such kindness.Showing me the way and giving me shelter."
