The city of Ra'kashi, an ancient city which spans miles upon miles. The city itself is sperated into many districts, those of which are mainly poor. However, inside the heart of the city lies giant walls made of the strongest steel. This is where the richest men and women live, whilst the outside of the city is left to scrounge. There is one day every year where the city's Arena is used to select the strongest peasant to take into the lap of luxury.

The Arena is used year round as a more effective form of "prison". Breaking the law will result in Arena sentances, where the criminal must fight against a creature of the victim's choosing. If the victim is killed, then the family decides.

The king of the city stays in his palace and is rarely ever seen in public. The man is shrouded in mystery and some rumors persist about his ties to dark magic.

The laws of the city are as follows:

- Any crimes deemed bad enough, will be punished by combat in the Arena for the viewing pleasure of those in the inner city.

- If, by off chance, you make contact with someone from the inner city, you must bow thy head in respect. Those who do not will lose their daily meal.

- Stealing from, harming, or otherwise committing a deed that is deemed cruel or an act of violance against someone from the inner city can and in most cases WILL be punished by Arena combat with one of the city's many monsters.

- Those who sign up for the Arena on any day other than the yearly city-wide battle, will have to pay a fee of 50 gold pieces to enter.

- Trespassing in the inner city will lead to a sentance of Arena combat.

- Those who donate creatures to the Arena from the outer-cities must be rewarded at most, 100 gold pieces. This can vary depending on the quality of the creature.

The world so cruel, with unexpected fates.

A long and tiring journey had brought such little fortune and favor their way, until at the peak of the mountain they had spotted a city in the horizon. A city that gave a thrill to the meek and poor."The Day comes to end, and night befalls the skies. A pitiful sunset that will drive the scorched sun away into the calming action before the rising moon, which will cleanse the city and land in its pale light. And the stars will have banquet in the sky of malevolence, But yet has no meaning, because people never gaze at its beauty anymore nor even want to take the time. Poetic cadence never shall bestow worth upon the lips, specially the people who have no where to live or go. A wanderers curse, to walk, and seek the nothingness in the beyond." Said Maj, taking a small peak from under his covered eyes. Of course Maj always had a strong questioning behind everything. But there are no answers, so why bother letting people speak. Opinions mean nothing to Maj, all are the same except his brother Zulu. Everything is a lie, there are no good willed people. You take order and law out they will squabble over the most ridiculous things. Maj lifted his hand to his face and covered his eyes again, since there is no point in using them. Even then hes gotten so use to be blind, that he can basically see without eyes. God may have given you them, but only to trick you. Its a trap, a set up to make you see the lies that you misunderstand. The faces of man, and their monstrous ugly features which can't be purified.
Maj put his hand on his brothers shoulder, giving sign that they need to find a shelter which they can live for awhile. Living outdoors was okay but, getting a job and earning some money was a must. But what is Maj thinking the quickest way is to kill for it, and its so much more satisfying. To Feel the blood drip on your arms, the warmth and screams of the victim putting them through torture. Maj then gave a distinguished smile thinking about torturing human scum. The sensation would be completely delightful, and not to mention quite fun. But sadly Maj's brother won't let him kill, he believes people deserve second chances. Knowing this he usually will let off, because Maj respects his brother at the highest authority possible. But even though he respects his brothers decision, if Maj gets even slightly pissed off at a person whose rejected mercy of his brother. There is no second chances after that, there will be death, as the viper takes your last breath.
~I can't wait to see what fate this city has for me and my brother. Though I have a uneasy feeling behind this place. And its making me excited to understand it.~ Maj thought to himself with devilish smug look on his face. But Maj was interested on what his brother would be thinking about this place, decisions, decisions. The fun has just begone, after the long time they spent in the sands. They stayed about 20 years in the sands because of the contract, and now this. And you could tell that Maj was getting antsy about it, he wanted to explore and understand this human civilization. "Oh the Tangled webs of fate, we must judge these people Zulu. I can feel a society of such great flaw, a unfair law will a cursed will. Surely you understand what i'm getting at brother." Said Maj to Zulu, unable to stop thinking about what this road will have in store for them.

Markov sipped on his lemon water politely, gazing at the sweaty Battle Rep from his comfortable lounging chair. The chubby representative stared timidly back, doing his utmost not to let his intimidation show. Who does this guy think he is? the Battle Rep thought to himself. He thinks he can threaten me? Nonchalantly give me orders? He stopped himself from flinching when the dapper man began lightly tapping his glass with his forefinger. The worst part is... it's working.

Suddenly, Markov rose from his chair. The Battle Rep stood instinctively. With an annoyed air, he regarded the representative with disdain, not looking in his direction. "It's a simple request. I just want a share of a battle that is already rigged." He spoke so plainly, as if such political crimes carried no weight, no risk. "In return, your precious arena, your fighters in particular, will remain under your control."

The representative looked down. He finally found the courage to speak. "You have no idea what you're dabbling in. If I agree to this, I-" A cold shadow slid over him. I didn't even hear him move! He looked up quickly. Markov was a foot from him, his hand outstretched. His shadow seemed to engulf him, cold and heavy.

"Do we have a deal?" The man was rigid. After a moment of frozen hesitation, he stuck out a shaky hand. Markov shook it and the cold vanished. "Good." He turned to leave. The man stood frozen, only daring to look up again once Markov reached the door. He stopped, turning with a wicked smile, his dark hair flitting before his glinting eyes. "See you at the Arena."

* * *

Walking down the stairs, Markov glanced sideways at his shadow. "Did you record all that?" An icy whisper replied from the darkness. To any passerby, it would sound only like a deep rumble. To Markov, it was a sharp utterance, harsh and lined with malice. Every word.

Zulu Mikeal

God's second hands of mercy, will bring you the true path of divinity.

After a staggering 20 years in the desert Zulu and Maj Mikeal start a new life exploring the new world. After a long 2 year journey The Brothers found many things the desert did not offer like the waters of the ocean that seem limitless if looked at long enough. The fields of lush green grass that you felt like spending hours laying upon as if it was a soft bed. Zulu enjoyed the scenery of the new world it felt so bright and alive to him, but his brother was always the one who seemed to be in a darker place within his mind. Maj was blind for about 10 years after that night the bandits slaughtered our bloodline so he said that "the human eyes will always lie to you never trust them." Zulu took his advice but being The Desert God's hand of Mercy Zulu trusts his eyes to an extent. On to other matters Zulu and Maj have been wondering because of the money issue, and not paying their bills for the food they eat. Seeing this city gave Zulu hope of finding a decent job and being able to eat out with his brother again, but not skip town before paying the bill. Zulu looked to his brother who wore a devilish smile followed by a statement and question. Zulu replies "The place has a strange cloudy Aura that swallows the city we must judge them as you said, but never the less we know not whats behind the walls."

The world so cruel, with unexpected fates.

The pale moon light grazed Maj's and Zulu's face giving a shadow to the other side of the face, like a crescent moon. The clouds of the night sky were scattered and silent with wind whisking them in formation as it were to be a play to watch. But the matters were at hand, Maj and his brother have made it to a designation. Praying that there might be something here for them.
Maj looked at Zulu after he replied to his question. "Indeed, but not only that. They say places like this have good food, but don't give much hospitality. We might even scare them, for we look nothing like the people who live in city's. I suggest we keep to our selves and questions at minimum." Said Maj then adding on to what Zulu had replied with. Maj wanted to kick back and relax, after a obnoxious journey from the last city. Because there was this incident at the last city that Maj didn't want to start again. Its best just to go as the wind pushes instead of pushing against it. Lifting up his hand and scratching his back, he then casually cracked his neck by turning it to the side making quite the noise. It helped relieve some tension in his neck and upper back, improving his personal psyche and position. ~God, walking for days can really stress you out.~ Maj thought to himself, then stretching. He was honestly ready for some food and sleep. Not even caring if he had to sleep or find something to eat outside.

Maj tapped Zulu on the shoulder then starting heading down to the city. "....Zulu lets head for the east, the guards seem quite tired and meek. They won't ask many questions." Said Maj being very deceptive, and giving a smirk. By going to the east instead of the west, north, or south side, they cut down on security on the east because of the river. Which people would normally would not even bother using. Unlike the others were they are actually main paths. including the fact if the city were to be invaded they would mostly likely do it from the north or west.
The path Maj walked to get to the east side was grassy and quite plain but the shadows of the clouds helped conceal them from distance. Making it easy to be unnoticed by scout guards. As he then passed a few trees Maj was close to the east door and waited for the guards to pass by or leave. Also waiting for Zulu to catch up. .

± ((Enter)) From sinking into the shadow once more from the previous city she was in, to slowly forming up out of the ground within the shadows of the city walls to her new location. Once she was fully formed, Zanza let out a painful grunt, falling to the ground. The war going on in the city from where her companion now here in pain. Traveling so much within the shadows is costing her life. Weakly she forced her self back up, placing her hand to the walls to use as leverage, and support.

± Looking up with her golden eyes, she saw the sun beating down, this was a new area, much farther from the last. This would explain why she is so weak right now, so vulnerable and pathetic. She hated herself for allowing this shame to befall on her. Her people would mock her if they were to ever find out. Gritting her teeth together, the Troll weakly made her way across the path, faintly hearing talking. It was a male, rather he was a human or not was hard to understand. But nonetheless, she decided to head their way, perhaps a good killing is in order to make her feel better.

± Because, once again, she is separated from the man she is after....the only one she took a liking to. But alas, it's more than likely meant not to be. In which case, it wouldn't bother this Troll one bit. Her hair ties began to snap apart, her clothing further torn from the war back at the other city. Right not she was a hot mess. Just before she could get a clear view on who the person was, Zanza's eyes rolled to the back of her head as she passed out on the dry lands of this new place....

Markov gazed complacently down the street surrounded by dilapidated buildings. His exterior was calm and collected, but his insides squirmed uncomfortably. Even for slums, this area is putrid. He resisted the urge to cover his nose to block the smell of collective body odor and the over heated mule attached to the vegetable cart down the street. Let's get this over with quickly.

Looking up, he continued to follow the crow. Blasted thing didn't look very sure of itself. Markov had sent it to track a dark object he'd been tracing for months. The crow was one of his demons, trying to sniff out the old magic. His senses were probably being bombarded by the old charms, the traveling artifacts, and the god awful odors. Still, the search was worth pursuing, no matter how many ancient curse words the bird threw his way. It was just a matter of-

The young summoner's attention was pulled back down to the street. A green woman had just collapsed into the dust. His shadow whispered an observation. There is dark energy behind her. Markov followed the shadow's motioning. Wiping a hand over his eyes, he let demon magic slip into his vision. The world went dark, apart from the dark shadows behind the... troll? He wasn't too familiar with species apart from demonic beings. He never did too much cross studying. He withdrew the magic from his eyes.

"Hey!" the crow above him squawked. "Do you have any idea how painful this form is? Are you gonna get moving or-" Without so much as a glance, Markov snapped his fingers and the crow imploded, vanishing in a cough of smoke. Markov's attention was on the creature before him. I can't leave her in the street. Besides, I'm always looking to learn more dark arts. I'm keen to know what she was doing with those shadows.

Pulling a scroll from his jacket, he unfurled it and spread a red powder from a vial over the symbols written in blood. The dry blood took the Blood Lett powder and shone bright red, new as if it were freshly cut from skin. Flowing a spark of his Dengen into the three symbols, he summoned three muscular imps. They glared at him grumpily. Ignoring them, he pointed at the female's limp form. "My Suite. Now. And be careful."

± Fading in, she felt herself being carried, as to what was carrying her was....hardly clear. Her vision but a blur. Her eyes close as though to blink, but the darkness of her eyes being shut felt longer. When they re-opened, she was able to get a short glimpse of a man dressed in black attire. Again, Zanza faded back to slumber. What felt like only moments, was actually several hours. Groaning some, Zanza found herself waking up. When her sight came about to a rather decent looking suit, Zanza found herself siting abruptly with her guard fully back up. She realized her face was showing, she she quickly lifted her cowl back over her scared lips before glaring at the two imps. They reeked of Degen sorcery.....Blood?

± They jut stood there, blankly. Slowly she position herself to sit up properly before glancing about, time to time. When she was able to understand her surroundings, Zanza slowly motioned her hand to the back of her waist where her bone began to slip out of her flesh quietly, forming a hilt to a bone blade. However in this moment, she only allowed the handle to come out but not the entire blade. She felt like a lioness in a cage, waiting to strike when the tamer lets down it's guard....Yet no sigh of the man in black...Who was he, and why save her? The female Troll also remarked to the one count who wore black, perhaps it is him, perhaps he did keep his end of the bargain...If not, the oh boy is she going back to cause an uproar.

Markov stepped out of the shower, his shadow pulling his towel from the rack and to his waist. Clean water was a luxury in Ra'kashi. Markov took advantage of his status whenever he could. Instead of meneuvering his towel to dry himself, Markov let his magical defenses relax. Demon magic flowed in through the cracks, attracted to his Demon's Brand. It heated his skin, causing the water to roll off in clouds of steam. He ran his hot hands through his raven black hair, pulling the water from the strands. That's better. He renewed his defenses and expelled the demonic energy.

Markov was greatful for the relaxing shower. After traipsing the slums of Ra'kashi, he felt filthy and getting the female here had took a bit of energy. The three imps were easy to summon and control, but he didn't want to attract attention. He'd ordered his shadow, an amorphous demon forever bound to him in the form of shadow, to shroud her form, making her appear as a shimmer to passerby. Keeping the demon in one place and one form for so long took some focus and a bit of Dengen. Nothing a quick cleanup couldn't replenish.

Grabbing his cane, he stepped out of the washroom in his towel to find his guest awake and glaring at his trio of helpers. Addressing the imps, he said, "You've done your job. Depart." He waved his hand and the imps faded to nothingness. As casually as if he'd met her at a dinner in his full attire, Markov introduced himself to the woman on his bed. Giving a small bow, he said, "I hope my Suite is to your liking. Or atleast that it beats lying in the outer streets." He gave her a small grin. "My name is Markov Sebastian. Can I get you anything?"

± Slowly pulling out the bone blade, ready to make a strike at the first guard, she heard a voice, and seeing these creatures disburse the way they did, Zanza pushed the bone back into her spine before maneuvering her hand back to her side. The Troll gazed over the stranger who seemed too eager to give out his name, as though it held no value. Then again, he was not a Troll, he would not know of her customs. For now, Zanza fixed her clothing so it did not droop, even fixed her posture, her her intense glare still remained. She did not like being helped....Already he was over stepping his boundaries by being TO friendly with the likes of her.

± However, the sent of blood, and this dark feeling hit her senses, perhaps he could be of use to her...maybe. She remained silent for some time, listening to him, hearing his tone, there was no threat, but he did have something in mind, as to what that might be, well, she will just have to find out. A grin formed under her loose white cowl, hidden from others. She then decided to make a stand, slightly over towering the male by a few inches. "Oui fru E tu hud ghuf, uha fru ec du vneahtmo eh so lusbyho....E ufa oui so knydedita......." Spoken in her ancient tongue, she simply stated who he was a stranger, how he acted so friendly when she does not know him, and yet he has her gratitude.....

± Tilting her head to the side the female Troll continued. "Who are you....Why take me in to your home?..." She finally asked. Her name still not announced, that he would have to earn her trust. We shall see how this event plays out. So far, he has her attention with the use of this...demonic power, and the use of Blood. Perhaps she could learn from him as well....Or steal it.....

Markov stepped off to the side, going into the next room to change into his daily clothes. He spoke over his shoulder as he traded the towel for something less revealing. "A few reasons. I dabble in the dark arts and couldn't help but recognize the same when I saw you. Call me a curious fellow. I like to learn where I can." He came back into the room fully dressed in a matter of moments. His control over the Shadow would give world renowned demon summoners and telepaths alike a run for their money. "That, and this place is insured. Though you are a stranger, I have no worries about what you might do to my temporary home." He sat in the chair a few feet from the bed, his legs crossing comfortably. "At most, I'll learn a few new tricks and gain an allie, and at least I get to order myself some new furniture. My curiousity generally gets the better of me." He gave her a playful wink, lighthearted and observative. "I do have some questions to start. Your name will do for now, if that's alright."

± The Troll watched him closely, listening to ever word spoken from those lips. He was truly up to something, as to what though has not been revealed. Though right after such question he stated that he wished to learn, but why did it feel as though he was with-holding information from her? Then again he doesn't know enough about her to start spilling out his plot, or even trust her on the matter. For now, the woman placed her hand on her hip, as he winked towards her. It gave her a feeling of disgust, he was human from what she could smell, then again her previous encounter involved a human and that stench still wrinkles her little button nose.

± However, it irritated her to the thought of him just being a spoiled brat, taking what he pleases when he chose to and how he wanted to. It was also a displeasure on how it was obvious he was taking things for granted, his guard was down and she could instantly strike...in fact, lets test what can do, see if she can like him...Concentrating behind the chair, from its shadow, formed a portal big enough to fit one of her fellow kin. As a male Troll silently rose from behind the stranger, the Troll then quickly places his curved sword right for the neck, as the in a head lock to use for when holding someone hostage or a "meat-shield".

± After this motion was finished, Zanza then began to slowly walk towards the man, swaying her hips until she reached the chair. Slowly, Zanza leaned forward, placing her slender hands to the arms of the chair as she was now bent forward, eye to eye with the other. "You wish to learn when you don't even have my trust, you want an allie from one who owns an army of both goblin and troll kin. One who nearly destroyed a kingdom for mere extacy....One who would take the chance in wondering what you taste like.....You want me to be your...Friend?...You will learn to earn it." Zanza replied as she pushed herself back making her way towards the window as the troll sunk back into the shadow leaving Zanza and this stranger to be alone together. Turning her gaze back to the man, she added; "Convince me." It almost sounded like an invitation to something rather...adult rated.

Zulu looked to Maj who tapped him on the shoulder saying he wants to go east and enter through there for easy access. "Alright lead the way brother after we get in the city we find something to eat than we rest till morning." He smiled about the thought of food, and this city looked to be vast with opportunities for jobs, excitement, and able to find a place to call home until we have to move on. "So once were in the city just stay under control until we feel the need to judge the people of this city OK?"

Zulu looked to Maj for a reply before they reach the gates of Ra'Kashi. "Because if we lose this opportunity we lose a lot of progress. I am not saying trust your eyes but don't let your anger get the best of you brother." When Maj took the lead Zulu took a step and the two rings on strings ring as they start their next journey.

Markov raised an eyebrow. So, she can summon warriors from the shadows. Interesting. The young man hadn't so much as flinched. He'd sensed the troll approach when his Shadow turned to watch it. When the blade came down, the Shadow slipped over the sword's edge, acting as a barrier between it and Markov's skin. He'd held off on retaliation as the female he'd so graciously scooped from the streets spoke to him with disdain.

Unperturbed, Markov rose from his seat, dusting off his jacket. "I believe a simple, 'No thank you,' would have sufficed." His friendly wit had evaporated, replaced by an indignant aura. He waved his fingers and the front door swung open. "I'm sure with a status such as your own, finding a decent place to stay will be no issue. Perhaps there the host will be more accepting of threats and challenges." A book flew from its place on a shelf and into Markov's waiting hand. He flipped it open and began to study it moodily. "I've no intention of convincing you or anyone else of my abilities or intentions. If you can't deduce them on you're own, I'll not waste my breath informing you." He disappeared around the corner, silent in the other room. A second later, he peeked back around. "Oh, and any other armed creatures you conjure will be destroyed on sight." He said it plainly as a fact rather than a threat. Turning his eyes back to his book, he retired to the living room. After I rid my head of this affront, I think I'll want another shower.

± The female Troll cocked an eyebrow in confusion, perhaps he misunderstood her intentions. She had hopped to witness something greater rather than his disapproval of her way of gaining ones trust. It's like this: If I punched you in the face, and you stood tall and punched back, and both of us started laughing, that's friendship. If i punch you and you get knocked out, your useless to me. And if I punch you and you punch back but caused me to bleed, that's a fight right there. Troll relations were weird like that, same for Orcs.

± However it was amusing to just ignore whatever nonsense that sprouted out of his mouth as he just throws a tantrum in his own fancy mannerism and started to read. Zanza rolled her eyes and decided to peek r head through the door way which did in fact lead to the living room spotting the male figure in the room reading his...book. She'll never understand fancy men or...fancy people in general. But she did know one thing, the art of seduction...However this man might not like her dark humor...or perhaps he would? "As hard as it is hearing me say it...You did save my life....Suppose I make it up to you in return...." She started but oddly, left it at that as she walked back further in the bedroom. This time, undressing herself and leaving her trail of white cloth, literally, thin white wraps leading to the bathroom, which the door was left slightly opened.

± The hair ties as said earlier from the beginning, had snapped off, but more so to the fact that steam began exiting the bathroom as sounds of water started. her thick dreads began to loosen, as the hot water hits her green flesh, trickling down her voluptuous body. Steam blocked the view of "certain" parts on her, while the sight behind the shower curtains was one of beauty, with thick long wavy drenched hair, smooth green skin, yet a vail that still hid her lips, that scare still claimed her history, her hatred, her lust for blood.
