The instant Hatteth appeared in the air above the hot springs, he gave a happy bugle. We get to see Hyweth's hatchlings again! He gleefully said to J'nes for about the tenth time in as many minutes. You only saw them yesterday, J'nes commented as they circled down to where a camp had been made for the new weyrlings and the riders who were with them. Yes, but we haven't seen them today, retorted Hatteth. That seemed to be all the reasoning he needed, as much the same conversation had been repeated all morning. Hatteth landed in a wide, grassy area that was suitable for the purpose, and waited only long enough for J'nes to dismount before trotting off to look for either of the hatchlings. His rider did not go with him just yet. While visiting the hatchling was certainly one reason for coming, J'nes had also brought along some more supplies, most notably a few pots of oil for oiling the weyrling's hides. He took his supplies and sought out the rider who was currently in charge of watch the weyrlings.

Aukoith yawned but sat up, flapping her wings at Hatteth. Its a warm happy morning to Mine. Is it the same for Yours? She asked. Soral had fallen asleep against Aukoith's side, using his dragon as a sort of pillow. Mine needs to wake up soon. He was awake all last night so I was letting him sleep.

Hatteth rumbled contentedly when he found Aukoith, and lay down to be nearer to the green hatchling's level. Yes, mine and I are happy, Hatteth answered. We are happy that you and yours are well, and all of your siblings and theirs.
Hatteth tilted his head to get a better look at the sleeping Soral. It is good that you are taking care of him. But do not let him sleep so long that he neglects to take care of you.

Aukoith moved away from her rider. Soral's back hit the rock and he jolted awake, sitting up before his head could hit the rock too. "Mmm, Morning?" he said, rubbing his eyes. Mine you have slept for a while, but now we have visitors and a empty stomach to feed. She nudged her rider's shoulder with her snout.
"Sorry I slept so long. Um... Someone's going to have to walk me through preparing your food though Aukoith," Soral admitted.

Well, if a hatchling was hungry, she must be fed. Mine is here, he can show yours how it's done, Hatteth told Aukoith. The brown craned his head back to look where his rider had gone. Mine, Aukoith needs food and hers needs to be shown how to prepare it.
J'nes had just been delivering the oil when he got Hatteth's message. With a laugh, he relayed the request and was soon supplied with a large hunk of wherry meat and a knife. These he carried out to where his brown was waiting, which was presumably was where he hungry dragonet was as well. Sure enough, the much smaller forms of the green and her rider could be seen not far from Hatteth's front feet.
"Good morning!" J'nes called out to the weyrlings as he got within earshot. "How're you two doing?"

I saw colours in the sky while mine was sleeping! Aukoith trumpeted proudly.
"You saw a rainbow?" Soral asked his slightly confused hatchling. Aukoith hummed and sent them both an image of a vivid rainbow. You both missed it. Soral smiled. "Well at least you enjoyed yourself while I slept."

Very nice! Hatteth said appreciatively at the image. The sky also fill with pretty colors when the sun enters or leaves it, at the start and end of the day. They are a different kind of colors, though. He sent her back in image of a sunset, with the sky streaked read and yellow and the undersides of clouds tinted pink.
J'nes chuckled and asked Soral, "Taking a nap, were you? Not a bad idea to sleep while you can. Hatchlings can run you off your feet if you're not careful. Not unlike taking care of a newborn baby, really," he said cheerfully. "If they don't want sleeping, bathing or oiling, they want food. Speaking of which..."
He set the chunk of wherry meat in front of Soral. "Hatteth tells me Aukoith's hungry and you want help learning to prepare the food, yes?"

"Yes I would like to learn how to feed Aukoith on my own," Soral admitted with a quick nod.
She hummed in appreciation. Those are nice colours.

J'nes nodded and knelt down to be in reach of the meat. "It's pretty simple, dragons don't put much stock in table manners and don't need anything cooked. Simply cut the meat in small pieces so that they don't coke, about..." He picked up the knife and cut a bit of meat off, then showed it to Soral. "...about this size will do. Don't worry about getting it perfect, it's approximate, and dragons won't care if it's cut neatly or not. As long as it's in small bits, it's good. Feed them pieces one at a time, making sure Aukoith finishes one before giving her another."
