My Story
Oh, this should be fun. To start, I was born a human. Shocker. I lived my childhood in a manor as nobility which would have been great if it weren't for all the rules. My big brother, Nene, got all of the attention since he was the heir to the family fortune and title. I was the poor little brother that would only inherit the name. It's a shame too since I didn't really understand that as a kid. I just noticed the lack of attention and did many things to try to get it. Nene noticed though. When he wasn't busy, he would play with me. I loved him, he was a good big brother. There was this maid though, she was really mean and would always keep me from having fun. She wouldn't let me play on the balcony or outside at night when the stars were out. So one day I played on the balcony again and she found me sitting on the railing. She ran up to me to get me, instead she slipped on some of my glass marbles and fell off the balcony instead. I pretended to be sad about it but I was happy she was finally gone. Nene spent some more time with me after that but it didn't last long. When my grandfather got sick and died, that's when I figured out that Nene would only spend time with me when sad things happened. I had to make them happen but it was harder than I thought. It was tricky but slowly I planned ways to get rid of some of the stupid staff that worked around our house. It didn't work out the way I thought it would and Nene was still spending less time with me. I started bothering him whenever I could and never listened to my parents since they didn't care about me anyway. As we got older I knew we had to distance ourselves. I finally took on my role as a noble and would often entertain at parties. Nene never stayed for very long and would usually make a short appearance before having to leave to do work. I didn't know why but someone hired an assassin to kill our parents. It came at night and killed them while they were sleeping. Then the assassin tried to kill Nene. I couldn't let Nene die! I was walking from my underground chamber to my bedroom when I saw the assassin outside of Nene's door. Oh I forgot to mention that I kept a secret chamber underground. I had quite a liking for the forbidden arts and it was down there that I studied it. Anyhow, I didn't hesitate to run and jump on the assassin's back. He had a dagger that he rammed into my leg but I had a sacrificial blade that I buried in his back. The blade glowed an eerie red color as the assassin died. I knocked on Nene's door until he answered then showed him that I stopped an assassin from killing him. He was horrified and quickly went to check on our parents. It was at that moment that we found out that they had already been assassinated. There was a funeral ceremony to morn their passing soon after. Nene was upset. He soon had to take over the household and with it, all the responsibilities. I didn't get to see him anymore. I ended up buying and moving to my own estate. Underneath, I had another secret chamber built and moved all my research into it under the cover of nightfall. It was very lonely in my estate despite all the lavish parties I would host in an attempt to entertain myself. However, my research was progressing well, a little too well in fact. Word got out of what I was doing probably due to the loose lips of my servants. It wasn't long until it reached Nene's ears. He was furious. He threatened me to stop immediately or he would reveal what I had been doing to all the nobles he could contact. I didn't want to stop though but I told him I would. I lied. I continued my work in a more secluded place away from my estate and hired assassins to kill the ones who helped build it. I had to. I couldn't risk him finding out that I lied. It would disgrace him and tarnish the family name. When I reached the peak of my research, something unforeseen happened. My research went very wrong and a strange ethereal force entered my body. It showed me a glimpse of the future. It showed my brother being murdered by one of his friends. I couldn't believe it. I had to save my brother. Unfortunately, whatever entered me also made me very ill. I managed to make it back to the estate but I was bedridden. I was coughing blood and I was sure I was going to have to die knowing that my brother was going to be murdered. I told servants to warn him but not inform him of my illness. I just wanted him to be safe. In my last moments, my only company was a female servant. I didn't know her name so I asked her. It was Sandrea. She told me stories of how I pulled her from the street and given her a new life. She thanked me for it and held my hand. I was touched that for once I was the one looked up to. It was also a pity that I would be dying now after she had told me this. I would have liked to have gotten to know her. Before my vision finally went black, I saw a very shadowy figure, which I thought was the reaper come to take me to the next life. Instead it asked if I wanted to live no matter what the price. I managed a yes before choking on a large amount of blood and dying. I reawakened in some kind of cave. The place glowed with a dull red light. The cave was warm as if there was a campfire nearby only there wasn't any the light came from within the walls. Then I looked at my hands. They appeared to be pale, it was hard to tell in the lighting, and my nails were black. I was dressed in light robes and for some reason my old sacrificial blade was on the floor nearby. The figure was back, appearing in the cave with me, it pointed to an exit and said, "You know what you must do." With that I picked up the blade and left to go stop the murder of my brother. I had hope. I noticed that as I was running that ground did not hurt my bare feet. I also had become swift and did not tire. I decided to run to his house instead of getting a horse. It was dark out and I went straight to his house and banged on the front door. I heard a lady scream and run away and I was met with a guard instead. The guard called me a demon then tried to kill me. Who did he think he was to disrespect a noble in such a way? He wasn't a very skilled guard, I easily moved out of the way of his blow and my blade found itself in the back of his neck. I quickly used my blade to pry open the door and made my way inside to my brother's bedchamber. I found him still sleeping and quickly woke him. I must have startled him 'cause he quickly jumped up reaching for his sword. I took a step back and warned him that he had to kill his friend before he betrays him. His next question shocked me. He asked me what business a demon has telling him this. Why didn't he recognize me? I told him I was Lhomul, his brother. Realization appeared on his face then he asked me what I had done. I didn't understand, I told him how I had gotten sick and died then gotten a second chance. He was furious and said I had let myself become a demon. My head spun at what he had said, I turned to look in his bedroom mirror and was startled by what I saw. My skin and hair had become white, my eyes were red, and two red horns came from my head. I just shook my head and told him that I just wanted to keep him safe. Then he yelled at he saying that it was his job, as the older brother, to make sure I was safe but now I ruined it. Then he told me to leave and said he never wanted to see me again. With mixed feelings of confusion and sadness, I left. With the knife still in hand, I decided to pay that friend of his a visit anyway. I assassinated the traitor while he slept. I don't know what became of Nene but I'm certain he had a long happy life. I'm now living on as a demon and have fully accepted my new status. I will serve my new Demon Gods and Goddesses well. I have no other purpose than to do so now anyway.
Abilities/Powers
Talents: Blood manipulation - Can freely manipulate and absorb blood at will however in order to do so with another's blood, the blood had to have been already spilt Illusion - Can preform seemingly realistic illusions to either trick or place stress on the opponent's mind but it cannot cause physical harm Other - Agility, Durability, Fairly good at stealth-like combat My Weaknesses: Compared to a lot of other demons, Lhomul is not very strong physically. He's also not very good with direct combat and will always try to maintain distance. He's also not very effective against Holy magic or dealing with Holy artifacts, plus that stuff freaks him out. Miscellaneous (optional, but recommended): Lhomul likes to sleep a lot. Please don't mistake him for a vampire, he hates that. He knows he shouldn't, but he likes wearing white clothes. Although he may seem friendly at times, he doesn't see anyone as a friend since he doesn't even know what being friends is like. My theme song (optional):audiomachine - Blood and Stone REMIXED (Ivan Torrent)
