Appearance: Z'iel is tall (6'3") and broadly built, with a rich, tanned complexion and a wavy shock of auburn hair that's been lightened by the sun. He's got a craggy face, broad planes and sharp angles. His eyes are a deep earthy brown, framed by crows feet and laugh lines. A bout of bad acne as a youth has left his face pockmarked in places - the only thing that saves an otherwise unfortunate-looking man is the bright, broad smile that is ever-present - it has a way of turning him into a man that could be considered almost handsome.

Personality: ++Love of Laughter: Z'iel loves to laugh. He doesn't necessarily enjoy cracking jokes, per se, but oh, does he love to laugh. Now, he doesn't like to laugh at other people unless they're being purposefully humorous - Z'iel isn't a cruel man, and he doesn't like to cause others discomfort. His smile comes as easy as his laugh does, and Z'iel walks about with a perpetual grin creasing his features.
Z'iel loves to laugh, and it's made obvious by the deep laugh lines that form grooves in his face. He's got a deep, robust laughter that has the capability to make others laugh just as heartily as he does. Z'iel is not afraid to make a fool of himself in order to garner a bout of laughter from his friends, and he certainly won't hesitate to join in, even at himself. While he does love to laugh and loves humor in all of its incantations, Z'iel does know the proper time and place for it.
++Deeply Devoted: Z'iel feels a strong sense of passion for things he deeply believes in, and he will not stray from that devotion. He would never let down a friend, and in fact is usually the first man on the scene if anyone needs anything. No matter what is required of him, Z'iel will absolutely do what needs to be done for anyone who is considered a friend - and sometimes even someone who is not.
This sense of devotion carries into his work, though at times it can turn from devotion into a sense of fixation (see faults).
++Sense of Determination: Perhaps it is because he rides a bronze, or perhaps it is because Vorith is a complete a*****e, but Z'iel's sense of determination is a mile wide. He has aspirations of his own, usually fueled by Vorith, and because of this (and his sense of devotion/fixation), sometimes his determination can be taken to extremes.
Z'iel has a tendency to keep his eye on the prize, and while he will not do
whatever it takes to take what he wants, he is not afraid to toe the line and push things to the limit. However, he would never hurt someone to get what he wants, and believes in hard work and dedication to the matter at hand to get him to elevated ranks - something that pisses Vorith off to no end.
--Fixation: Z'iel has obsession issues. He is dedicated to his wing, almost to the point of being
overly-dedicated. Z'iel is the guy who shows up at a football game in full regalia and body paint in hopes of meeting his favorite team members. Z'iel is the type of man who might come off as a little too intense to women. When he's with a woman, he's
with a woman, and this can be a little off-putting at times.
However, this flaw is tempered by the sense of determination that Z'iel has - but then again, his determination can sometimes get out of control because of the fixation flaws that he has. It is a very muddled line.
--Predictable: Z'iel also likes routine, and you could set your clock by him. He's up at the same time every morning, has the same meal each and every day. Z'iel doesn't get upset if his routine is disturbed, really, and is not the sort of man to be sent in a downward spiral of panic and anxiety should his routine be broken - but should he be allowed to spend the rest of his life by his own means, well - Z'iel's routine will never be broken.
--Hedonistic: Good food, good wine, good company, nice clothes, great sex. Z'iel loves all of these things. This can cause a deep internal struggle, as Z'iel also loves excelling at his duties - and he has his own aspirations to strive for, as well - but Vorith keeps him in check more often than not.
History: A typical weyrbrat, Z'iel father before him was a brownrider, and his mother a greenrider. His life was quite unadventurous until he impressed at the age of 15.
