Abdul closed his eyes, breathing heavily and evenly as he tried to ignore the burns on his side. Every step he took North was painfilled, and agonizing. But he had to get as far away as he could. He needed a healer... He needed help. And he wouldn't find it close to where this had happened. The stallion that had done this damage to him had burned every house, stable and inn for miles around in his hatred of humans and the Bond that was so natural and necessary for those around. Finally, close to a good herd he knew of called the Equa'matica, the moss colored stallion collapsed. He could go no further. The burns on his legs and torso had stopped bleeding and were dried and charred black, but it left him too weak to carry on any further. His eyes were having trouble staying open. "Do not fall asleep, Abdul. Do not give up this easily." He grunted as he tried and struggled to find his hooves underneath him again. "only.. a little.." He fell back down, heavily onto the grass beneath him. He let out a shuttery sigh. He did not want to give up, but it was impossible for him to go on. He didnt even have the strength to call out for help. Perhaps this was his end. Its been a long run, Abdul...

When her father and her sisters and herself and come to visit the herd of her father's, they had all decided to stay. With her father and aunt now mated, there was really no reason for them to leave. Since they had been inhabiting the same area, Kesi had volunteered to help with patrolling, finding the run of a certain line quiet and refreshing thing to do each day. A sense of regularity. Although her patrols had been fairly boring as of late, Kesi still found it relaxing. She was just starting out her patrol today, she started her route and extended outward as she was supposed to do a little each day. Running along, she thought she spotted something odd out in the distance, a mix of brown and black. As she neared it, she realized it was an azrein! An azrein that was all burned on it's sides and looked near death. Kesi ran close to him but slowed to a walk as to not startle him, she had confirmed that it was a male now. "Excuse me, Sir? Can you hear me sir?" Pain filled her voice as she noticed how bad the stallion's condition was.

Abdul sucked in a raspy breath as his eyes flickered. He could hear the female's voice but was too weak to answer. All he could manage was a bad and unintelligible muttering. He tried to move again, but cried out in pain as one of his legs brushed against a rock. He'd never been hurt so bad before, and if he made it through, he'd have several stories to tell in defense of his scars.

This was bad. Very very bad. Kesi didn't know what to do. He needed help. More help than she could give. What could she even do? Water. He needed water. Where was the nearest stream? Should she leave him? What if something happened while she was away. Wait. There was a lake nearby. Yes. She would go there and get some water. How would she carry it? She'd figure something out she decided. "I'll be right back, I promise." She said as she ran towards the lake. Once she reached it, the mare waded in, soaking her entire body, making sure her mane and tail got soaked and even taking some water into her mouth. She would have to go slow but she would make it. Kesi went as fast as she could without becoming winded or choking. Trying to keep as much water as she could. Once she got back, her face warmed at the thought of what she should do. Stretching her neck, she nosed his face, her mouth still retaining some water. Water dripped from her mane onto the stallion's face as she leaned closer, letting the water flow slowly from her mouth into his, hoping he would sense the water and swallow. It was weird, she knew, but it was likely the only way for his survival. Kesi felt like a momma bird, taking care of it's chicks.

Abdul noticed the absence of the female and felt a tear slip out under his eye. This was his end. He could feel it. He closed his eyes and breathed easily, ready to release himself to the life beyond.
Bastett trotted at a fast pace, her thoughts irritated. Like always, her sister had gotten impatient and left her behind and went on patrol without her.
Abdul sighed out, just as the feeling of something cold and wet hit his forehead. His eyes flickered open, just as a mouth came close to his and dribbled water into his mouth. He felt the cold caress of the liquid enter his tongue and automatically closed his mouth to swallow, feeling the revitalizing effects of it. His eyes popped open and he sputtered, coughing and wincing in pain. He could live. He WOULD live.
Bastett saw her sister in the distance, bending over a blurry shape on the ground. Woried that something bad had happened, she sped up and raced towards her sister. "Kesi!" She shrilled out.

Seeing that the male still had enough in him to swallow the little bit of water she had provided, Kesi shook her coat of all the water it had held. Water sprayed everywhere, landing on the male that was so hurt on the ground. She hoped it provided some comfort to the burns that he held. It was then that she heard her name. It was Bastett, she had forgotten that she went on patrol early, leaving her sister behind because she was too impatient. "Bastett! Thank goodness you're here! I am so sorry I left you behind. But this male! He needs help. He is badly burned and near death. Please, sister. Help me." She pleaded her sister. She didn't know what it was, but she wanted, she needed, this stallion to live, and she would do everything in her power to make sure that happened.

Bastett's eyes widened at the sight of the burned and charred male before her sister. "Oh goddess above!" She swore, her eyes widening. She shook her head and studied her sister and the determination in her eyes. Not having time to question the desperation she gave a quick nod. "Lets get him to his feet and lead him to Father. Father and Ra will be able to help him." She said, bending down to assist the male to his hooves.
Abdul shuddered at the blissful feeling of the cold water on his burns and cried out again as the other female began moving him. But it had to be done. They were going to help him, and to do that he needed to move.

Kesi's eyes squinted shut at the male's cries but knew her sister was being rational and correct. Ra. Yes Ra would help them. Going to the male's other side, the side that was pressed to the ground. She laid next to him, her wet hide pushed against his to help him to his feet. The two mares sandwiched him between them. It helped that he was a little taller then the both of them but she knew it still caused him pain. "Thank you Bastett." She whispered as she silently prayed to Ra.

Bastett grunted under the male's weight. He had to weigh a ton, yet mostly, Bastett figured, it seemed to be muscle. This male was big, and from his older scars, seemed to have been in many fights. She prayed, that they were not bringing a Sixer into their home, but who was she to deny, rationally, help to one who needed it?
Abdul swayed but stayed upright as he moved his legs to take some of his weight off of the females as they led him to their father and the mysterious being called Ra. He felt that he had heard the name before, but couldn't recall where.

Once they had reached the lands her family most oftenly inhabited, she thought it was far enough. "I think we should stop here, sister. We don't need to make a scene with everyone, I am not sure how Grandfather Enthallion would like this. Do you think you could go get father? This place is sunny enough to pray to Ra."

Bastett nodded and helped lower Abdul onto the ground. "Alright sister, you lead the prayer and I shall chant." She instructed. She began a small hum, closing her eyes and lifting her eyes to Ra, above. She waitied for her sister's prayer before she began chanting in monotone, the sounds of the vowels in their father's language.
Abdul sighed, and relaxed through the pain, evening out his breathing to a slow beat while he listened to the praying nad chanting which seemed to not only calm his thoughts but also his throbbing wounds.

As they settled the male on the ground Kesi felt herself closing her own eyes and lifting her head to the sun. The warm sun of Ra basked on her coat as she began to plead to Ra, Osiris and Isis to heal this wounded warrior. She knew she didn't know of this stallion's alignment, but everyone deserved a second chance. And maybe this was this warrior's second chance. Kesi felt herself relaxing, a sense of peace settling over her, her own prayer slipping into rhythm with her sister's chanting.

Abdul, with the relaxation of his body, mind and soul, fell into a slumber, his sides heaving easily with his breaths.
Bastett calmed her chanting as a peace filled her heart and a voice filled her and echoed into her sister's minds.
שלום הילדים שלי. הוא יחיה". ""He will live. Peace, children mine."

Kesi's own voice grew quiet as she heard the voice of their god in her mind. Her whole body was soothed as she lay next to the now sleeping warrior. Her eyes open to look to her sister. Never had Kesi had such a great interaction with Ra, never had he spoken so openly to her and she knew it was a great omen. If Ra said her warrior would live, then he would. "Thank you Ra, thank you Bastett." She said quietly into the warm afternoon air.

Bastett nodded, her own heart quieted and calmed by Ra's voice which still called within her heart. "I shall go inform father so that he may bring some bandages and water." She said softly and quietly, knowing without a question that her sister would stay by this warrior's side.
Abdul slept peacefully as images of his childhood friend, the elder Rameses, danced in his head. Something about the prayer that the females had said, reminded him of his egyptian friend.
