Eri moved at an easy trot. He had been away from home for a while now. Guinevere Sue was well and his children were all grown and didn't need him to look after them, though he had come and gone to see his brothers and sisters as usual of course. Right now he was considering heading to the city to see his son Zoy. He had learned from Hikari that Zoy had bonded and lived well. A part of Eri regretted sending his own foal to be raised at the hands of another, but he knew he had been at a time in his life when he was incapable of watching all of the young ones and staying grounded. He was certain those that had left had gone to good homes, but to hear about it was still a bittersweet sound. He looked up at the sky and wondered if Zoy would even want to see his father after so long. Perhaps not but Eri wanted to go and at least try to reconnect. He wanted to hear all about his son's life and the strange aunty that Hikari kept babbling about. He also needed to ask Zoy if he knew of a 'Kamryn.' Hikari had mentioned what Eri could only assume was a stallion judging from the look Hikari got on her face when she said his name.

Ni'awtu Kawtu had told her mother that she would be right back, she wanted to go check on things at the edge of their land. She knew her mother worried about all of them, but she also knew she wanted to live up to her father's name, which included helping her family. She trotted over the land and soon reached the edge of their land, scouting for any trouble. " Hmmm, seems quiet today, so maybe I can head back in early,"Ni mused to herself.

Eri spotted an Azrein moving in the distance. Wondering if perhaps she might know of Zoy or could direct him toward bonded Azrein who could help him track down his son he started toward the figure. As he got closer he realized it was a lovely mare. She looked quite young and was very attractive. Still even if she had been an old toothless nag Eri sill would have been polite. That was just how he was. He called out while he was still some distance away. “HELLO THERE.”

Ni'awtu heard a voice calling from a distance and she turned in the direction of the voice. Her yellow eyes picked up on an approaching stallion, one who looked pretty handsome. He did not look dangerous to her and certainly would not have announced his presence to her if he had been up to no good.
"Hello out there!"Ni called back. She stood where she was, having a feeling the stallion would come to her.

The cheery greeting made him smile as he approached. “Pardon my intrusion my lady.” He nodded his head toward her when he got close enough not to have to yell. “I was wondering if you’ve heard of a stallion named Zoy, or a mare named Hikari? If not could you direct me to a human bonded who might assist me?” Eri never would have been this open had he been traveling down south but here in the north he figured his up-frontness would be fine, if not well received.

Ni'awtu looked thoughtful at the question, trying to think if those names sounded familiar to her. Unfortunately, they did not, but she was not so well-versed when it came to her homeland, at least not as much as her mother and Dea.
"I am afraid I cannot help you, since the names are not ones I know. Unfortunately, I am still getting used to the king's lands myself. However, I do know an Azrein and her chosen who could probably help you, since they are quite...connected to the king and those who live here. You see, my mother and her bonded are very respected members of the king's court, so if anybody would know, it would be them,"Ni explained with a soft smile.

Taking and tucking away his disappointment Eri knew it wouldn’t be so easy to find his son’s home. Still a small part of him had been a bit hopeful. “That’s alright. Thank you.” He thought about what the mare said. “I would very happy to see your mother and her bonded if they have time to spare.” He wasn’t really sure how busy the human court was or if there was any chance of him getting to see this mare’s mother or her bonded. For that matter what was this one mare doing alone without a guard in sight. Eri took a glance around and was disappointed. If this had been one of his daughters he would have had a member of the kings herd to guard her. He knew he shouldn’t judge since his own herd consisted of Guinevere and those of his children that stopped by, but still the protective side of him reared its head.

Ni'awtu nodded her head in reply, glad to be able to at least tell him where he could go to find information, knowing Dea would be the best to help him.
"If you will follow me, I will lead you back to my home, where my mother and her chosen are both currently located. Lady Dea is not able to do as much, currently pregnant with little ones of her own. So they happen to both be at home, trying to get some rest before she is needed again. I am sure they would be glad to help you,"Ni assured.

Pregnant and letting a stranger so close? What if he was a member of Six and simply pretending to be polite? He coughed politely and looked at the mare. “Miss you wouldn’t happen to be the scout for your herd would you?” He really hoped this wasn’t the case. She was so young and clearly needed some experience. “it seems like you shouldn’t let a stranger so close without some protection or knowing them at least.” He shifted. “I do not mean to sound critical of you but you don’t even know my name.”

"You are right, but would not mean anything even if I knew your name. The six are good at sneaking where they want to be, I know all too well. Of course, there is no way to prove whose side you are on, even if someone vouched for you. And no, I am not the scout for our family. Even if I am allowing you on our land, that does not mean I trust you fully,"Ni spoke.

She had a point and it proved that she had some intelligence. “True, however when an azerin speaks of themselves you might have a better chance of catching them in a lie.” He had family members in the Six’s herd and he knew those in the king’s herd as well. “You would be wise not to trust a complete stranger but do you think it safe to take me to your mother’s bonded who is heavy with a new life? Perhaps I could get the information from your mother without bothering her bonded? I may not be an enemy but it would make me feel better to know some precautions were placed. ”

Ni'awtu thought for a moment, knowing if her mother did not know the answer, she could always ask Dea telepathically.
"Yes, I can take you to my mother, but I would be cautious if I were you, since many are protective of her. So for your sake, I do hope you are not the enemy. Oh and just because they talk about themselves, does not prove whose side they are on,"Ni explained, leading the way to where her mother would be.

“I have nothing to fear but I am glad to hear that some precautions are being taken and that enemies should be wary.” He chuckled as she had made another point. “I have children of my own and if my daughter met a stranger I would want her to be cautious and had I been there when Guinevere Sue was with foal I would have guarded her as well. I hope you understand my, shall we say zealousness on this matter?”

Ni'awtu nodded her head softly, knowing more on that subject than the stallion realized. She knew that had her own father been able to, he would have been with her mother every step of the way when she was pregnant with herself and her siblings.
"No, you are justified in your worry of others, my mother is the same way for all of her children. Even though we are all grown, she still worries...considering what happened to my father,"Ni said the last part quietly.

He was glad to meet someone who understood his need to protect his family and perhaps hint at the need for others. His own parents had been separated and that bothered him as foal though he didn’t let on. Then Guinevere bore his foals and he never knew. That was another sting to his pride when he had wanted to be different. It was nice to meet someone who didn’t chide him for it. “A mother’s job is to worry. If they can’t do then then they fret.” He winked at the mare trying to lift her mood. “May I be forward with you miss? I know it isn’t’ my place but may I ask what happened to your father?”
