The day had been rather uneventful. The hair salon had its usual flow of customers but the redhead decided to take the day off from Negaverse business. He'd been beaten around one too many times for his tastes and he was getting rather sick of it. Instead he spent the day cleaning and tidying his apartment and cooking dinner. All in all a rather "normal" day.
He'd kept his bedroom window open to air out some of the cooking fumes from the kitchen and let in some fresh air. Even though it was colder outside than inside, he enjoyed a little bit of a breeze. Pulling the last bits of sauteed vegetables from the pan on the stove, Caleb realized his baked chicken was done too. Excellent! Maybe he'd call Makayla and see how she was doing. He hadn't heard from her in a while and he was getting rather lonely.
The redhead absently reached for the phone after taking off his oven mitts. What would she be doing now?

If Caleb only knew how close his girlfriend was, and what had just happen to her.
Euclase eyes focus on Caleb's bedroom window as she holds onto her shoulder. She could still feel the blood running in various cuts all over her body, enough to where she knew better then to actually go home. Going home, meant never leaving the house again. Never seeing Caleb again, and she refused to allow her father to stop that.
Closing her eyes, she took in a slow deep breath before leaping off the ground towards the bedroom window. Her landing, almost become a mishap as she grabs onto the window seal to stop herself from falling backwards. Very slowly, she slips into the bedroom, her nose picking up the various smells of food cooking in the kitchen. This brought a small smile to her lips, even with all the pain she was in.
Closing her eyes, Makayla allows herself to dehenshin as she steps towards Caleb's bedroom door. With a small wince, she pulls it open before leaning against the wall "Caleb?" her voice, although soft was filled with quite alot of pain. She found it was hard to talk just from the beating she got, and she knew she was going to bruise if she hadn't already.
Her hair, that she normally kept up, she decided to pull down so it was flowing around her face. The pain from her head was just too much for her, and her hairbands were making it worse. Swallowing, she spoke again, only a little louder this time "Caleb?"

That was odd. He could have sworn he heard Makayla. Pin pricks tickled the back of his neck and the young man wandered towards his bedroom, the destination he swore the sound was coming from. Before Caleb really knew what he was in store for, his love, Makayla, was leaning against the door frame and looked... badly beaten. He rushed to her side to gather her up. "Makayla! Makayla, what happened? Who did this to you??" Scooping her up, the redhead rushed her to the couch in the living room. There were two throw pillows on either corner and a thick blanket folded and tossed across the back. Caleb lifted her head to rest it on the pillow and went about unfolding the blanket for her. "Makayla, are you bleeding? Do you need to go to the hospital? Damn... I'll go get you something..." He rushed off to the master bathroom where he kept a first aid kit. It had come in handy so many times since he joined the Negaverse. So much so that he tried to keep it stocked to the brim at all times. Returning with the kit and a glass of water, the redhead sat down beside his girlfriend on the couch to rifle through the thing. Aspirin had to be in here somewhere. Caleb looked panicked, frantic. "...has to be in here somewhere..."

Makayla lays there watching Caleb before she lifts shaking fingers to his arm. With a small smile, she shakes her head, which only caused her to wince in pain "No I don't need to go tot he hospital. It minor cuts, I promise you." she coughs a few times, trying to get the burning feeling out of her dry throat "I went up against a super by the name of Tsui, and didn't do so well." she looks away, feeling ashamed of herself for not beat the girl more "I was trying to find the one who hurt you. I wanted payback."
Even as she spoke, her face was turning an ugly color of purple. Still holding her right arm, her fingers were now caked with dry blood and dirt. Her hair was caked some with blood from the small cut near her hairline on her forehead. Her jeans were starting to stain from the blood that was forming from the small cuts on her legs.
All she could do was try to comfort her boyfriend, trying to keep him from worrying over her "It was my choice to fight. She gave me the option to run, but I refused."

Caleb had to hold back tears. "You rest tonight. I'm taking you to the emergency room tomorrow whether you like it or not. You're bleeding, darling and you look like... you were hit by a car. But this Tsui? It wasn't her that hurt me, but I'll hurt her for doing this to you." Pulling out a bottle of pain killers and a water bottle from the first aid kit, the redhead lifted Makayla's head to rest on his chest and comfort her. "Here, take these. Dinner is done and I'll get you something to change into. And bandages. Dear god, 'Kayla... it's okay to run away!" It was a plea more than anything else. Caleb knew full well his girlfriend was much stronger than he was. He relished it but it hurt him so to see her like this. "I know it was your choice but... she was a super, 'Kayla. You could have died." And where would that leave him?

Makayla would have shook her head, if it wasn't pounding badly with pain. Instead she just lays there against him as she listens to the fear form in his words. She honestly never thought about dying, but now that he said it. She felt fear creep into her heart, is she died.
Coughing again, she snaps her eyes shut before she turns towards Caleb. Hugging him close with one arm, she hides her face against his shirt as she whisper "I'm sorry, I let me anger get the best of me. I don't want to leave you alone, I can't...." she meant every word, and no matter how much she tried to hide it, she felt the tears sting her eyes.
Looking up at him, she shakes her head before laying back down "I should have let you know what I was planning, but I didn't want you to get hurt again. I really screwed up this time." she knew it too, as she wasn't going to be able to go home right away. Not like this...
Her father would freak out if he saw her right now.

"All I care about now is that you came back. Just rest. Let me get you some dinner and something warm to change into, okay?" He lifted her body to scoot out from under her and disappeared into the bedroom. Since Makayla often visited or stayed the night (with or without her father's permission - Caleb never asked) she had many clothes stashed away in his closet and dresser. The redhead never minded. Pulling out a loose tank top and baggy pajama pants, he reappeared next to her. "I'll dress you if I need to, 'Kayla. Just... wanted to give you the option, okay? There's still plenty of hot water in the shower if you need it. I'll go get you some dinner." Caleb couldn't believe how close he came to losing the light of his life and the worry shone plainly on his face. He could never hide those feelings from Makayla. He shook his head and tried to clear his thoughts enough to load a plate for her - vegetables and baked chicken. "Please stay the night. I worry about you. I know your father will be angry but I'll call him and tell him you're sick or tired or something and don't want to drive until the morning... we'll figure out something."

Makayla looks at Caleb, feeling like a complete idiot for worrying him. He was the one person that she never wanted to worry, and yet here she was beaten, and he was scared. Lifting her good hand, she brushes it over his cheek as she smiles "Screw my father and what he thinks love. I was planning on staying anyways, right now, I want to be with you more then anything." she looks down at the clothes in her lap.
She was probably going to need help getting into them, after a shower though.
Looking towards the food, she felt her stomach twist. She hurt too much to eat, but for Caleb, she would in a heartbeat. She do anything just to see him smile. Brushing her fingers through his red hair, she gives a weak chuckle "I'm sorry I scared you, it wasn't what I intended to do." if anything, the beating she got really opened her eyes.
And now, she realized even in her other form, she had to be careful.

Caleb sighed and shook his head, cutting up chicken into small bites and doing the same with the vegetables, placing them all on a plate for her. "You know, I'll feed you if I have to. I'll do it. Your ego will never be the same, Makayla." With a smile and a chuckle, the redhead walked back to the couch and knelt down next to her. "You know I believe in you. You know I think you're the strongest person I have the blessing of knowing. I hope you don't ever feel like you have to prove it to me or to anyone else." He placed the plate on the side table and raised a hand to brush the hair from her face in a tender gesture. "The senshi already know how formidable you are." Makayla had to stop herself from laughing as she nods alittle at his words. At the moment, her ego was already pretty beaten. So him feeding her, wouldn't be a bad thing. As his hand brushed her face, she lifts her good hand to place it over his as she tries to give him a smile "I know Caleb, but sometimes I feel like I need to. I know it sounds strange, but I need to." closing her eyes, she thought over her words.
She felt like she had to prove everyday that she was a strong asset to the Negaverse.
Though after tonight, she hope she made at least one super realize that she was a senshi not to cross. She was strong in her powers, she was a strong fighter.
Only now, she was going to make herself become stronger.

"Well I'm sure you gave Tsui a run for her money." he said with a wink and a smile. "Now when you're done, I'll help you get dressed and get you comfortable. Then we'll watch as much trash TV as you want but after that? You need to see a doctor, young lady. No woman of mine is going to run around looking like she was hit by a bus." And now he needed dinner too! But first, pajamas. Caleb disappeared into the bedroom for a few moments before emerging with a white tank top and black pajama pants. Wandering into the kitchen, he fixed himself a plate of dinner and went to sit beside Makayla on the floor (while she occupied the couch). "I don't want to give your father any more reason to hate me, even with assumptions."

With a small nod, Makayla didn't even try to argue with Caleb as she knew there was no point. He was right, she needed to get checked out. As he left the room to get himself some food, she carefully changed out of her soiled clothes and into the tank top and pj bottoms he given her. That alone, made her weaker then she actually liked due to how painful it was just to change.
Sitting back on the couch, she gives him a weak smile as she leans back against the couch. As hungry as she was, she was almost too tired to really move at the moment. With her hand, she carefully rest it on his shoulder so she can give it a weak squeeze "Thank you..." it was all she said as she just stares down at her meal.
Right now, out of all the options given to her...
She like the idea of just being in his arms and watching TV. It didn't matter to her what they watched.

Caleb sighed gently and turned back to her, giving Makayla a look that signified love, worry and commitment all in one. He then turned and picked up the remote, bringing the television in front of them to life with a dull glow. It looked like some kind of mundane sitcom was on, a pleasant distraction from all the supernatural goings-on in their lives. "Just relax, Kayla. You don't have to worry about anything tonight, okay?" The sitcom would last another half hour or so and if she was asleep by then, Caleb would make sure she was comfortable and would call her father in the morning. But right then and there? They would pretend to be two normal young people in love, sitting in an apartment and enjoying dinner while mindlessness droned on the screen. Krista_Darkangel_Silme I think this is a wrap too!
