Kia'la
Kia'la was wandering away from her parents, she was bored and Sefu wasn't around. She spotted a mouse rustling in the grass and crouched, looking around to make sure no one else was going to steal it, her butt wiggled in anticipation before she leapt and pounced... she sneaked a look between her paws.... nothing. Kia sighed and cuffed at the ground, slapping it hard in frustration. "Stupid mouse.

Knox
He had been looking for Illyeria. Mostly because she was good at being a protector, and keeping him safe. Though that usually came with being annoyed so badly that he just wanted to pop her in the face.. sometimes.. He usually kept his cool though, it was good having a sister no one wanted to be around. Because in turn, everyone kept away from him.
He had heard the small voice, and for a moment he had been hopeful. His little self began closing in on the source, and he frowned when he realized it wasn't Illyeria.
" 'Lo, Kia.." He said in a huff. She hadn't been who he had wanted to run into. But maybe it wouldn't be -too- bad.

Kia'la
Kia turned at the voice "Oh... hello uncle Knox... stupid mouse got away" she grumped as she noted the male that looked a lot like her father but was obviously closer in age to herself than her father, sometimes it felt weird calling him uncle but with so many lions in the pride it felt best to her, to remind herself of the family ties. "I just... can't catch them" she pouted a little.
Knox
He hadn't seen the mouse, but he took her word that it had been there. He shrugged a bit before speaking. "There will be plenty more." He was usually the type to see the glass half empty, but he had tried to be a good role model to his family. Even if he was acting most of the time.
"It's because they are ridiculously fast. They aren't much fun. Now.. bugs.. They are easier, and fun to chase." He said with a small smile. He patted her on the head, though it seemed weird treating her like a neice. She was as young as he was, if not maaybe a bit younger.

Kia'la
Kia wrinkled her nose "Bugs.... ewwww" she cringed, dipping her head under Knox's paw "I'm not a baby Uncle" she said with a chuckle "But... something slower?" she mused "how about you?" Her eyes took on a mischevious glint to them.
Knox
"Nothin' wrong with a good bug. Not like you have to eat them. But they teach you how to get stealthy." He said with a nod. "And when you are stealthy, you can work your way up to mice." He was sure he was making sense, but then again, that had been what father told him. Perhaps father was like Illyeria.
"No you aren't a baby. But we are both youngsters. No shame in that." He said with a chuckle. Then she suggested him, and his eyes widened and he shook his head. Backing away, he groaned.
"Now come on, not me! I am not looking to be chased today." Then he gulped.

Kia'la
Kia made a face, like she didn't believe Knox at all about bugs, "Bugs are gross" she stated plainly but he did seem to have a point, maybe starting on eaisier things was a good idea.
"I didn't mean chase you Uncle Knox you silly" she grinned at him cubbishly "I want to practice stalking and pouncing, you don't need to run to do that!"

"Then that just leaves more for me then, doesn't it?" He asked with a chuckle. He knew sometimes food was harder to come up with, and when in doubt, bugs weren't half bad. Though if you had told cub-him that, he probably would have been disgusted.
"Well, in that case.." He said, trailing off with a smile. "I imagine I could help you." He liked his nieces and nephews, even if they weren't too much younger than himself.
"You ready?" He asked.

Kia'la
Yeah.. There was no way was Kia going to believe her uncle on the bug thing. She smiled. "You can keep the stinky bugs," she chuckled then turned all serious when he smiled and agreed to help her practice. She crouched down into pounce position, butt wriggling in anticipation. "I'm ready Uncle Knox!" she replied.
Knox
"Then what are you waiting for?" He asked, and then lowered his chest to the floor and his tail in the air. "Let's go!" He said, and took off, scampering off into the brush. He didn't get to have much fun lately, and this was a good way to spend the day.
"By the time we are through, you will be a master!" He called out, laughing and then dissappearing into the surroundings.
"You just gotta find me."
