Snow! Snow! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Stormy was at her happiest - she actually looked normal as opposed to spacey or half-awake. Snow wasn't something she had ever really interacted with before so to have the entire island coated with the fine white stuff was just an adventure waiting to happen. She had meant to practice a bit more with a dummy, but . . .
Nope. Snow.
Her dummy was now covered with it, the head shaped to have two large round lobs for ears.

I was going for Mickey, but . . . It could be Minnie. Or deadmau5. But it looks like a mouse head, right?
Thane just rolled his eyes; he would never understand the teen's obsession about that stuff. Stormy gave a soft, happy smile as she surveyed her work, then bent over to begin sculpting a tail trailing on the ground behind it. It was nice to handle something so cold and soft and just yesssss.

Jake was also in his own little wonderland, kicking up flurries and watching them it rain down. Snow really was a great thing.
It was kinda ironic Chester was telling him to train, considering he used to tell Jake to take a break from it, but now... he wasn't even sure what to do with the boy.
"In a moment!" Jake laughed, kicking at another pile of snow, sending more flurries scattering about.
Chester sighed loudly.
"Hmm?"
He looked up, seeing another person on the field.
Oh! It was that girl during the mission!
Jake grinned, picking up some snow and packing it into a ball.
"THINK FAST!" he called out, lobing the snowball at Stormy.
Ofelia really should of never taught him how to make a snowball.

Storm could think fast. Her reactions, however, were a different story. She turned and -
Fwop!
Right on the right side: her ears and neck were coated with snow. The cold made her yelp in a high-pitched voice as she stumbled backwards and onto her butt, wiggling a few fingers in her ear to get it out. Oh God this was cold aflkdfglksjg -

"Oooh . . . Got me." Stormy looked up to find that her assailant was the boy from before, only . . . Huh! Maybe he wasn't always scowling after all! And who would after all, with all this snoooooowwwww. She beamed as she pushed herself to her feet, dusting off the snow from her clothes and hair and collecting them into her hands. "Nice! But I had my back turned, mister. Wanna try that again face-to-face?"

Before she could finish, he had already lobed another snowball.
"You mean like this?" he laughed.

That one she ducked for, though it still hit her back. Thane rumbled something about how quick she was in the Sun Hunter's training course and yet how slow she was here, but Stormy ignored it; she was busy giggling like an idiot.
"Either or~" she answered in a sing-song tone, summoning her weapon as well. But rather than begin the battle with an active swing, the trainee gave into her sillier impulses (brought on by the Joy). When she leaped towards him, she purposefully swung Thane low, barely even a passing blow -
- but a great way to kick up some snow at his feet.

Jake only laughed as she sent a small flurry towards him, raising his hands to block it.
"Is this revenge for earlier?" he teased.
Well, two could play at that game!
Jake frowned.
Killjoy.
He swung the tonfas towards her, but not before he kicked up some snow at her too.
Chester sighed.

"Mmmmmaaaaaybe~♪" She had the grace to look coy, like they were suddenly five year olds wielding really sharp weapons when mommy had her back turned. And this five year old squealed as snow was kicked at her, barely able to defend herself from the tonfas.
Thane was growling in her head with growing agitation. < < If you will not fight properly, then do not fight at all! This is a mockery of battle, a disgrace - > >
It's just for funsies, she interrupted, grinning widely as she again managed only a light tap in response and danced away; apparently she didn't mind being chased and the target of snow volleys right now. "Did we ever introduce ourselves? I think I heard someone call you Kitten back at the infirmary, but that's a pet name. I think. Literally."

Like how all kids act, he only laughed and chased after her when she moved away.
He stopped when she mentioned his "pet name", and cocked his head.
"Oh, that's just Eva. I'm not sure why she gave me that name. I think it sounds kinda funny, but, well, if it makes her happy..." he shrugged.
"My name is Jake though." he smiled, taking a step to be close enough to swing out again. "What's yours?"

Gleeful that he was pursuing, she tried to keep up the pace even though the snow made her stumble - well that and his attack too. "That is a weird name - like if I named my dog Human." But who was she to judge nicknames? After all, she would dispense some of her own if appropriate.
She turned about to face him, a hand under her chin as she continued to step backwards; the trainee had taken Wilson's entrance seriously from before. "I have a weird name and I don't like it, so I changed it a year or two ago. So you can call meeee -" A sudden swipe at the ground with her greatsword sent a flurry of snow his way as she happily finished, "- Stormy!"

He laughed again at the sudden flurry.
"Is it because you like to cause little storms?"
Brushing away the snow, he swiped the blades again, this time, only managing to nick her FEAR shield.
"Hmm, so what IS your real name? It can't be that weird."

"Nope, for a different reason~" Stormy scrunched her face with amusement, bouncing Thane off enough to cause that nick from him as opposed to another slash - Joy was apparently messing with her battle instincts, but then this was just a fun game right? A fun game with sharp weapons that could talk, or in Thane's case sigh heavily and pretend it wasn't happening. The little nips of Fear she'd gotten him weren't enough to incite more of a response than that.
"But it is bad!" she insisted in an almost whine. "It's awful and terrible and long and ugh." She frowned, sucked in a breath, collected her thoughts, aaaand with a harder swing of her greatsword than expected sent another flurry of snow Jake's way.
Except it actually had a bite this time.
Better late than never?
"I do like making little swirlstorms with this though~" she cooed, readjusting her grip on the handle so that her hands could stop feeling numb for a few seconds.

He didn't wait for a response as the area around him seemed to dim, and shadowy tendrils oozed out of the tonfas, seeming to reach out towards Stormy.

A question like "wanna see something cool" in this instance should have told her it was bad, but nope: Stormy happily brought up Thane before her and chirped, "Sure!" because cool things were interesting things and she was all about interesting things.
And then tentacles. She was not expecting that.
There was a girlish scream and a clunk in the snow as she flailed Thane around at the inky tendrils, enough to lose the greatsword from her grip. Not again, not again! Not the living darkness, she'd beaten that, they'd beaten that together -
Looked like Stormy was having a minor PTSD moment from an occasion pre-pods.

If Stormy calmed down, she would notice that the tentacles were only an illusion, and with time, began to fade.
Jake jabbed the tonfas at her, albeit a bit hard... right into her fear shield.
"Hey, you ok?"
