"Knox! Get back here!" Came the loud boom of his sister's voice. He hated when she yelled like that, it just gave him a headache. The skittish male's ears flicked back against his skull, and he lowered himself to the earth. If she found him, she would surely give him a lashing. He hadn't felt like listening to her prattle on and on about things she knew nothing about. Sure, he had been okay with it as a cub. He had been naive enough to not know better than what she told him. But these days.. He was far smarter. And Illyeria wasn't handling it well. She didn't like that no one wanted to hang around her, but she was too bossy for her own good.

He heard her heavy paws start trotting towards the rock he was hiding behind. He was lucky that she was still not close enough to see him, and he began slinking around the rock formation they called home. He had been hiding around Pride Rock, making sure to keep to himself. Though she always seemed to find him, and for some reason, she was only ever looking for him. Maybe it was because their other siblings hadn't fallen for her explainations of the way things worked, even as cubs.

Once he was sure he would be out of her line of sight, he took off. He ran as if he had never ran before, and he just needed to get away. It didn't take long before he could no longer hear her roaring after him.. He couldn't scent her on the wind. This was perfect. She would expect him by the watering hole, so he had made his way over to the prairie lands. He just needed to find a shady place to relax. The sun was far too hot for him to enjoy himself today.

He hadn't been expecting to see anyone. Least of all the male that he was looking at now. His pelt was ashen, like soot. His eyes a blue of the sky. Knox cocked his head, and wondered if he had ever seen this guy before. He couldn't remember a name, and so he shrugged. Least talking to someone else, anyone else, was better than seeing his sister.

"Hello.." He said, his voice not entirely friendly, but cautious. He wasn't mean, but he certainly was a skeptical guy.

Khar lifted his head, arching an eyebrow. He had been daydreaming, and he hadn't even smelled the other male approaching. He didn't mind though, Khar wasn't a scaredy cat. He enjoyed the social interactions he could get.

"Hello there!" He said, a smile spreading across his face. He had seen this guy a few times. He couldn't remember where, but he assumed it had been whilest hunting. Khar wasn't the best hunter, he much preferred to place his time in things such as singing, and composing music. He loved to make music, he felt it made the world go round.

"Great day to be alive, isn't it friend?" The cheery voice asked as he lifted himself up from the laying position. He stretched his body, his claws unsheathing as his muscles loosened. He had been lying there longer than he had initially planned.. No bother really. He could handle it.

"I suppose. But I certainly wouldn't go around saying something like that.." This grey male was weird, Knox was sure of it. Who the hell was he, and why was he so.. peppy. Knox wasn't peppy.. No, Knox was kinda far from it. He was a secluded, guarded soul. No one had managed to break down his wall yet. He wasn't even sure it was entirely possible.

"I'm sorry if I bothered you, friend. I didn't mean any-"
"Quit calling me that! My name is Knox, and you don't know me well enough to be my friend.."Knox said quickly, narrowing his eyes at the other guy. He wasn't offended really, but he just didn't like nicknames, or pet names. He was Knox.

"Alright Fr-..I mean, Knox. I didn't mean to bother you then." Khar replied, but still bowed his head.
"The name is Khar. Pleasure to meet you." He said, and he still hadn't lost that peppy look in his eyes. Knox arched an eyebrow as he watched Khar. He had certainly never met anyone like this guy before. He was kinda happy for that, but.. what was he supposed to do with this guy?!

"Well Knox. What is your story? You look a bit disturbed. I;m not scaring you am I?" Khar asked, as he took a seat and looked at the other pridelander.
Yes.. Was what Knox wanted to answer, but he wasn't that much of an a*****e. He shrugged and shook his head. "Takes far more than that to scare me, that I assure you." He responded, his tone flat. He almost felt bad that he was being a little mean to the guy. He was being nice, but.. Knox just didn't really do well around others. He hadn't been the most social of cubs growing up. He had been a scaredy cat, and that had made him a bit nervous as an adult. He was lucky he was able to do things on his own.

"Good to know.." Khar said, clearing his throat and looking away. Okay, now he felt awkward, and he would have done pretty much anything to get out of this conversation.

"Well.. it was great meeting you Knox. I hope we run into each other again.." He refrained from adding that he hoped that the next time was a long time from now.. He just wasn't that type. Knox felt relieved, and nodded.
"Yes. That would be great. Now if you'll just.. excuse me." He said, and turned. Maybe talking to his sister, wasn't going to be that bad after all..
