Being in the common room was still a little strange to her, the sorting had only happened a few weeks ago and she was just getting use to the coldness. She learned that to wear a coat helped her out. Sitting on one of the coaches she was wrapped up in a green blanket and reading a book on magical creatures. Even though she was still a fist year and wasn't taking a class on them, magical creatures were her things. She grew up around them, and they connected her to her father.
Flipping threw the pages it was obvious that this was a book she owned and had read many times over, there was writing in the white spaces and pages were folded. She was reading on unicorns when she realized that she wasn't the only person in the room. She looked at Wicka for a second before turning back to her book. She had seen him around, but they hadn't spoken as of yet. She wished Trevor was here, it would make things less awkward, but she was alone and Wicka wasn't someone she got a great feeling from. Maybe if she continued reading he wouldn't even notice her.

Wicka was seated in the common room. He was trying to pretend to do homework. He wasn't accomplishing his goal. He hadn't even been back a whole month and he wanted to go home to go horse back riding. Wicka was born to ride a horse... and yet here he was, sitting in a dungeon doodling pictures of his horse.
He hadn't seen the girl when he had first plopped down but he had noticed her a while ago... and he had to admit he was a little interested in the fact that she was a first year and had a Care of magical Creatures text... He had begged for early entrance to that class. Wicka stared a moment and the decided to try and be nice... Wicka be nice... hmmm something was wrong. "Hey girl!" Oh wait...Wicka's nice was still everyone elses rude. "Nice book... How did you get them to let you take a third year class?"

It didn't work. Although she was good at being invisible sometimes, other times it didn't work out as well as she planned. This was one of those times. She wasn't all that happy about being called girl, since he didn't know her name she would give him the benefit of the doubt. Plus it wasn't like she was going to say anything about it, that wasn't her.
"I didn't." she said quietly as she looked up at him from the book for the first time since he spoke to her. She tried to remember what she knew about him, but she didn't really remember anything which could be a good or bad thing. "I grew up around them, so even though I don't have the class I like to read about them." Her voice was loud enough for him to hear, but still pretty soft. They were talking about magical creatures, and even though she didn't get a good vibe off him that was something she was very comfortable and loved to talk about. As long as they stayed on that topic she would be good.
