Shortly after coming back from that fiasco, Shun retreated to his room. He looked worn down, especially since he had been fighting. For the most part, he wasn't hurt too badly, but he did seem to have some blood on his clothing. Not all of it was his own. In fact, most of it wasn't. The black shard from the crown was still embedded in his wrist, and he had to wonder if that had anything to do with the rage he felt back there. Things have been pretty crazy lately. The ordeal with the red crown... and now there were three more crowns. What was with all of that?
Not to mention his craving for power. That desire that was unnaturally strong within him.
Taking in a deep breath, he walked through the door and flopped down onto the bed.
"I'm home," he murmured to Mitsu.

Mitsu had still managed to spend a great deal of time in the dorms instead of out and about. Perhaps she was just tired but she hadn't felt very sociable lately. Instead she waited around in Shun's room for his return, playing with Milo and wondering how Ziggy was doing.
Rolling over on the floor she lifted the white foxfire up and held him high, his little feet flailing happily. "Do you think she's happy, Milo?" In response the foxfire yipped happily and Mitsu brought him close to cuddle. "Yeah, you're probably right."
Tilting her head up she looked at the clock she had brought over and saw that it was getting pretty late. Where was Shun anyway? The reaper had been gone quite a bit since they had gotten back doing part time work. It just felt odd with him gone so long. Lonely even.
Sighing Mitsu gave Milo another pat before rolling on her side and letting the foxfire bound away. She laid there for a while longer watching the little poof proceed to battle a sock when she heard footsteps coming down the hall. Instantly she sat up, her ears perked high and her tail wagging. Mitsu was on her way to the door when Shun came in and moved passed her on his way to the bed where he flopped down.
Lowering her hands from the hug she had wanted Mitsu gazed after Shun, following him to the bed where she carefully took a seat. "Are you okay?" She looked him over carefully, her nose picking up a familiar metallic smell. "I...is that blood? Why do you smell like blood?" Her voice sounded worried, her hand reaching to touch his shoulder.

"Just tired," he murmured before rolling over and propping himself up on his elbows a bit. Shun furrowed his brow as she asked about why he smelled like blood. For a moment, he paused as she put a hand on his shoulder, then heaved out a sigh.
"A lot happened today," he started, "Medea had some sort of gathering going on. I went to check it out and... overheard that there was great power to be had soon. I went along and we ended up somewhere in the human world. There were some hunters... but they really didn't stand a chance. We killed a number of them before reinforcements came in. Things still wasn't really in their favor, however."
He figured there was no point in hiding anything from her. It was within her right to know these things.
"At some point... three more crowns appeared. Blue, gold and white... I end up with another vision of sorts.." he murmured, slowing down at the mention of the vision. Mitsu had killed him in that one. For the sake of... his supposed kingdom. He grimaced at the thought, then shook his head slowly, "But.. that aside, the horsemen have managed to revive those who were lost in the blast Octobers ago. Apparently the fear we gathered had been enough to do such a feat."

At first Mitsu listened intently, though she wasn't sure the importance of this supposed power or why it would have drawn Shun in. The mention of Hunters had her paling, her eyes growing wide and the mention of killing them didn't fair her much better. After that it was one turn after the next and Mitsu couldn't make much sense of it. Crowns, visions, horseman.
"W....what?" She looked a little dazed, pulling her hand back so that she could place it against her head like she was trying to keep all this new information from escaping back out of her skull. It was too much to process though and Mitsu felt her mind reeling as she tried to piece it together. "L-let's start at the beginning." She said meekly.
"What about this thing with Medea?" Maybe if they went over the story bit by bit she could process what Shun had told her. She could worry about the killing of hunters when it came to it.

It seemed he had moved a little too fast. But.. as he said, a lot had happened that day. It had been pretty damn chaotic as a whole. Taking in a deep breath, he nodded slowly while trying to process things so that Mitsu could get a better grasp of how things went.
"She had gathered her horsemen, as well as the students who had joined her. She made a speech saying that the horsemen would rise back to their former glory. She said they would make the humans remember why we are to be feared. Those who hadn't joined her were free to come along for this if we wanted to taste this power and fear. I wanted that power... so I went along," he said quietly, "Lizzy and Xiu were there as well. Among a few others. Medea opened the portal and we were in a snowy human world area. It must have been a hunter outpost, given how many were there."

Mitsu's brows furrowed a little more, concern filling her as Shun explained a little better. She knew that Shun respected the horseman but she wasn't entirely sure she trusted them. From the different things she had experienced and heard she was afraid the horseman were only going to use them as expendable tools for their own gain. Another thing that bothered her was this power Shun mentioned. She had never really known him to be power hungry before.
"Why....did you want this power?" Mitsu asked. The fact that Medea had taken them through a portal to a hunter outpost only seemed to worry Mitsu more and confirm her shaky feeling that they were being used. It concerned her further to know that some of her other friends had been there. How many had been roped into this? "I...I don't know that I trust the horseman, Shun." At one point she might have but with the visions she had seen herself and hearing about what others had experienced it just wasn't working in their favor.

Shun typically wasn't power-hungry. He always strove to improve himself but he wasn't exactly desperate for it. Not usually at least.
"I don't really know. But the call for power just... it was so tempting. With power.. I can protect those who really matter more easily," he said before his voice took a darker turn, "And at the same time I'll be able to crush any b*****d that gets in my way."
He paused for a moment, then shook his head.
"Power... it's been a desire deep seeded in me ever since the ordeal with the Furnace King. Xiu has the crown from that... in amulet form. Apparently it's warping her now and then as well," he murmured while running his hand through his hair. He soon let out a sigh as Mitsu admitted how she felt regarding the horsemen.
"Lizzy and Xiu don't either. But... so far, Medea has proven to be more trustworthy than any hunter..."

Mitsu's eyes widened as Shun took on a darker tone. He wasn't just talking about crushing hunters...he was talking about anyone and that scared her. This wasn't the Shun she knew. Something more happened but she wasn't sure what it was.
"I...I just don't understand the need for it." Mitsu said hesitantly placing a hand back on his shoulder. "You do fine without it." Mitsu would have to check on Xiu too. The thought that whatever she had was warping her didn't settle well with her. What had been going on while she stayed hidden away in this room? Her heart sank a little feeling like she had abandoned her friends when they might have needed her the most.
"And just because Medea is more trustworthy than a hunter doesn't mean you need to follow her." It wasn't hard to be more trustworthy than a Hunter in Mitsu's mind but even though they had hurt her in a way she would never forget she didn't want to be pitted against them, at least not on anyone else's terms.

"I can't shake this feeling right now. That crown.. it must have done something to me. I feel like I'm angered more easily as of late as well..." he mumbled before sitting up so he could lean forth onto his knees. Shun grimaced some as he thought about it some more, then let out a sigh at Mitsu's words.
"Well then I suppose it's a good thing I didn't end up following her to the horsemen lands to join her ranks after everything had ended. I wanted to. Badly. However I have a promise to Lizzy that I wouldn't. She and Xiu had to talk me out of it once more," he explained while looking down at his hands idly. He had gotten angry with them. Very angry. And he was almost to the point to where he was about to strike one of them because of it.
"She does.. have a great deal of power though... if only you could have seen it.." he said, sounding a little distant.

"Y...you were going to follow her?" Mitsu's voice was barely a whisper, fear gripping her badly when she realized Shun was being pulled in. Was it all Medea's doing that was causing this odd behavior? This change she was seeing in Shun was unsettling. "A..and what do you mean again? Was it...."
Her eyes widened briefly again as she crawled onto the bed and pushed the hair away from the back of his neck to look at the mark he now bore. "S..Shun." Her voice was shaky now and filled with fear. "This scares me." It scared her like nothing else because her visions of her losing him in some way only intensified.

Shun furrowed his brow for the moment. But then he realized that not everything had been explained before.
"At the rescue mission and raid of the hunter island, Medea offered everyone a chance for power. She opened up a portal leading to her lands. Arel had shown up as well, given students a way home instead if they chose," he said quietly, "I wanted to follow her. I thought I had you, but 'you' were in a pretty weak state. At least I thought you were. I thought Medea could help.."
He paused as he realized he almost brought Candace to the horsemen territory. The reaper frowned lightly at that thought. Shaking his head again, he paused as he felt her push away some of his hair, exposing the mark at the back of his neck. Slowly, he lifted his head to turn towards Mitsu as he heard her voice filled with fear.
"I don't think this thing with me has anything to do with her. The crown gave me visions of power. Xiu, who has it, has gained power. This also appeared after dealing with the red crown," he whispered before turning his hand to reveal the dark mark at his wrist.
"There weren't any horsemen in christmas... Just the citizens of that place and the students who took the part time job.."

Just as Mitsu thought it had to do with the mark she had seen before. The mark Shun had gotten doing what he felt had to be done. It was disheartening to know he had tried so hard to find her and it wasn't her that he had brought home. How much would he have sacrificed on Candace's account?
"I'm sorry....I caused you so much trouble." She said softly, touching the mark on his neck one last time before pulling away. As Shun tilted his head back to look at her Mitsu looked into his eyes with a sad gaze before she looked away. Was she only holding him back now? It still worried her about Xiu but was this what Shun truly wanted?
"J...just promise me you won't do anything that will change who you are. I don't want you to be used or...controlled." And she was worried that was what it was coming to. "A-and about the hunters...." This was probably the part she didn't want to hear. More of them had been killed? It was a strange entanglement of emotions that ranged from fear to relief.

Shun lifted his head and turned towards Mitsu as she apologized. He soon shook his head, then reached out to try and take her hand into his own.
"You have nothing to apologize for. No matter what happens.. you're worth fighting for. If it could mean that I'd have you at my side... I will do anything for you," he whispered. He soon frowned lightly as she spoke a little more. Another promise to layer on top of Lizzy's. It seemed he really wouldn't be joining Medea's ranks at all then.
"I promise... I suppose it will be best if I walk my own path anyway," he said before glancing away. Granted there was still the matter of his father, "Though... please don't resent me for when Kaitou contacts me again. I don't know what he has planned but if I go along with it, it may be beneficial in the long run... The family has a lot of resources. I can assure you that what happens there will not change me. After all.. it is what shaped me."
He only looked back when it came to the hunters.
"A number of them were killed. I finished off two of them myself. Once their reinforcements came though, we were only able to disable them. They retreated before any final blows could be dealt. It didn't really matter though. Defeating them seemed to feed the orb Medea possessed. It must have been collecting the fear."

His hand had taken hers and she squeezed it lightly, looking up at Shun again as he spoke. It was reassuring that he felt so strongly for her but at the same time it worried her. Someday she could very well be used against him and maybe that's what she should really be afraid of. For now she smiled softly, knowing that he truly loved her and she felt the same way for him.
"Y...You want to work with your father again?" Oddly, in Mitsu's mind, it was the lesser of two evils. She probably shouldn't have thought that way, Kaitou wasn't a very nice man and not someone she wanted Shun to deal with but in the same right...he was his father. "Just...promise you'll be careful and I promise I won't resent you." Worrying about him was another matter. She would always worry.
The next thing Shun said had her brows furrowing again. Shun spoke so casually about killing the hunters and that also scared her. A part of her hated them but another part saw them as misguided humans. There were a few that knew what they were doing and she might even enjoy seeing them perish but this path that Shun was choosing to walk down was frightening and while she was willing to follow him she couldn't say it wasn't without hesitance. Humans weren't like them after all, they only got one chance to live. The day she watched Stacey die would always haunt her, no matter how much she hated the lot of them.
"I..I feel like I've missed a lot by staying here..." She finally said bringing her knees up to her chest on the bed. "Like I've abandoned everyone..."

"Not really, as I still hate that man. But as I said, the Family has a number of resources that would be useful. I'd need to be within favor to access them, however," Shun noted. His expression soon softened as she continued on for the moment, and just nodded to being careful. He watched as she brought her knees up, hugging herself practically as she went on about how she felt about all of this.
The Reaper frowned and moved closer to wrap his arms around her.
"Don't feel that way. There's no way you could have known something was going on. I came upon Medea's meeting by complete chance. The only way you could have abandoned us is if you knew there was something happening and you purposefully chose to not aid us," he pointed out.
