With his new goal in mind, Bazzi had to find other people in the Negaverse to help train! That way, everyone wins - other Negas got better in their battling, Virtus could practice his healing and Bazzi could get more training as well! It all worked out great in Bazzi's mind.

Problem was, he needed to find somebody!

So he took to the streets, seeking Chaos signals that were his lever or lower. Generals and all them had all the training they'd need and Bazzi, more often than not, took orders from them anyway. Would Beni be proud? Sure he would! Bazzi was doing his best to be a good captain and help the new recruits get used to their new life. Goodness knew Bazzi was still getting used to it himself!

Darting through the city streets, the captain finally found a signal to pursue - a lieutenant! That would be perfect! Rounding a corner, Bazzi trotted to a halt near them. Looked like a lady. "Hiya!" he greeted cheerfully.

Bazzite was still getting used to the idea of ranking above anyone so Hopeite addressing him as captain took the boy by surprise. He giggled and shook his head. "Nah nah nah, don't do that. Just call me Bazzi."

He walked up to the young lady and smiled at her in his usual, good-natured way. "It's nice ta meetcha too! I got this great idea and I was lookin' for people to help train cuz... that's part'a my job as a captain. I wanna make sure everybody's strong n' capable an' all that!" Bazzit smiled widely. He was sure Beni would be proud of him, talking like he had some kind of authority. Sure he was still new but he couldn't get better at it if he didn't try!

"So anyway, Hopey... do you mind if I call you that? Anyway! Do you want to spar with me for a bit? I got a friend - a senshi - he's a real good healer! If anything happens then we can call him and he'll come rushin' in like a battlefield medic! Everybody wins! How's that sound?"

Bazzite beamed at her.

"It'll be awesome - don't you worry. Virtus is one'a those Dark Mirror Senshi an' he's on our side so he'll help us out with healin' if we need it. So! What's your weapon, Hopey? I started with folded paper shuriken. Oh man, I'm getting ahead of myself." Bazzite shook his head to scatter and then reassembled them. "I gotta remember to start at the beginnin'! How do you fight? All up close an' personal or at a distance?"

This lieutenant didn't seem armed at the moment but that didn't mean she didn't have anything on her. Heck, Bazzi kept all his shuriken in his jacket pocket for most of his time. "Oh! Or better yet, I can teach you ta dodge so you don't get caught by senshi! Have you had that problem a lot? You been doin' your scans an' all that? I wanna make sure my Negabuddies are safe as can be!"

Another beaming smile. It was pretty clear he had no clue what he was doing as far as leadership went but Bazzi certainly wasn't going to give up easily!

"Dodgin' practice it is!"

Being that Hopeite had a very short-distance weapon (with the potential to cause some rather nasty burns), Bazzi thought maybe teaching her to weave and go for the kill -- or burn, as the case may be -- would be very useful. He walked over to the lieutenant and started to position her arms and legs like how he learned from Aubrey. "If you stand like this, you have a better center of balance and you can move without falling down." he explained, stepping back and assuming the position as well.

With his legs spread apart, Bazzi leaned to and fro, showing he could dodge incoming punches or the like or catch his opponent off guard. "If you wanted, you could move, like this..." He leaned to one side. "...and then use your cigarette and get 'em in the neck! SSSST."

Assuming his regular standing position, the captain walked up to Hopeite and formed a fist. "I'ma go real slow, but you try weaving like I showed you! It'll be super handy with your weapon bein' so close range an' all that." Just as he said, his movements were slow to give Hopeite plenty of time to learn the movement. Once she felt comfortable, Bazzite would quicken the pace.

"Yeah! Just like that! When senshi get all up in your face, you can weave like this and keep 'em off balance."

After a few more rounds of ducking and weaving, the captain backed up and bounced happily. "See? It's not so bad. I don't want anything bad to happen to you guys. We gotta stick together, you know? We're the good guys. Good guys always win!" The boy struck a pose, grinning. "You're real good at this n' if you keep it up, you'll be a force to be reckon'd with."

He thought for a moment. "You know, there's this chick down at the gym on the other side of town, she teaches this stuff. It's where I learned the whole balance thing from. Maybe you can come by on a weeknight and see? I mean, if you're not busy n' all that. People got lives." Bazzi scratched his head, swaying from side to side. All the practice he was trying to do was making him a bit more focused on the battlefield - which was saying quite a bit.

Without any prior warning, he rushed at Hopeite to see if she would dodge. He wouldn't strike her - it was just a test.

Yeah! I hope I can be just as good as you!

"Err... well..." Part of the captain didn't want to admit that it took him about a year and a half to get to his captaincy. But not everyone was as incompetent as Bazzite was. He was more than sure Hopeite would have no problem climbing the ranks. "...jus' practice! That's what I think they look for - progress 'n drive an' all that, which I think you definitely got! Most definitely."

The lieutenant's dodge made him all the more confident and he let it show very plainly on his face. He gave Hopeite a thumbs' up in approval. "See? You got what it takes. I hope you come to the gym sometime. We should exchange numbers! You know, we could go out trainin' or patrollin' sometime, work on our stuff. I'm still learnin' too so anything we both get outta it'll be real important. Just think... you'll be kickin' so much a** in no time, you know?"

Bazzite nodded. "Then that settles it! If you ever gotta go to the Rift and you need a ride, well... I can take ya! I think sometimes the lieutenants gotta report down there? I dunno. I just report to Beni. He's awesome." With a grin, the captain rubbed the back of his head. "An' I'll be at the gym all the time! I'll wear a ninja shirt so you know it's me, kay? Aubrey will train us and we'll be awesome."

The captain pulled out his Nega crystal and stared at it. "Now... I just gotta figure out how to get your number in this thing..."
