Coeur was once again on guard duty at night, patrolling the border for any disturbances. She hadn't been in the pride but a couple months but it felt like she had always been there. It felt like home. Coeur hadn't been very spiritual before coming to the pride but upon entering she quickly picked up the beliefs. In fact, she had always had a feeling in her chest that there was something bigger out there for her then the life of a Duchess and while she had loved her pride and family, she knew it wasn't where she belonged. That's what led her to strike out on her own and the whole time she wandered through the rogue lands she always let her feet carry her to wherever she was meant to go. Then one day her feet grew tired and she was at the pride's entrance. She knew then that this was where she was meant to be and believed that the Great Lion had led her here.
A smile made it's way onto the lionesses maw as she remembered her first month here. When she had awoken she found herself with a new rank and to her astonishment she could be guard. It took her mere seconds to choose. Coeur had always been the warrior type but she could never be one before so she was over the moon to find herself in a position where she could protect others. "Life is good." She said to herself with a grin. If the lionesses was to die now she would die a very happy one. Nefertari had been following Ulimi'siri, her mate, for awhile now. They had found each other in the rogue lands a while ago and there was nearly instant chemistry between the two. She told him she would follow him anywhere and up until now she had certainly kept that vow. Although, with the arrival of his hybrid cub from a fling before he had met her it was a bit rocky there for a while. Admittedly it was all her fault due to her prejudice against hybrids but that was how she was raised and it was hard to change. Of the course of time she spent with the girl Nefertari grew to tolerate her existence but she was of course more then happy when they dropped the girl off in a pride for hybrids. She knew it hurt Ulimi to leave her behind and by extension it hurt her.
However, now Nefertari and Ulimi were alone and looking for a place to settle down to hopefully raise their cubs together. Hopefully they would reach one of the prides he had mentioned, soon. Then maybe cubs of their own would soon come into the world and make everything better again. Nefertari was excited at the idea of becoming a mother and Ulimi'siri being the father of her cubs. Hopefully life would only get better from here on out.

Ulimi walked side by side with his mate, their movements so in sync, that to others it might seem a little creepy. But what was really impressive about their ability to be so in sync, was the Ulimi wasn't even paying attention as they walked. His mind was more wrapped around his daughter, and how well she was adjusting to her new home. He had been promised that she would fit right in, and that he need not worry. But that's just who he was, a worrier and an obsessive one at that. Snapping out of his stupor long enough to look around, he raised a paw and placed it in front of his mate. "We're here." They were the only words he could muster, but the unmistakable smile on his face was all his mate would need. "This is the place I was talking about, how does the area make you feel?"Of course he wanted her fully truthful opinion, and he knew she would give it. If for some reason, even the tiniest one - she felt uncomfortable they would push on. Neffy was his reason for living, and he would od whatever it took to make sure she was happy in their new home. Whatever it took. "Don't hold back! If you have any reservations, I want to hear them."

The lioness came to an immediate halt when she saw her mates paw in front of her. They had arrived at one of the prides he had talked about and before he even had to ask, she felt this overwhelming sense of calm and peace. "It's peaceful." She said with a smile, her eyes ablaze as she looked to Ulimi. "I think it would be unnatural for me to not have any reservations." Nefertari said, smiling once more. "We've been roaming the lands for a while and being in a pride is a totally different experience." Nefertari paused and looked around the border for a moment. "However, it kinda feels... homey." She added, looking to him now. "How do you feel about this place?" Nefertari asked. His opinion was just as important as her's and of course to her his was the most important. However, they both seemed to feel that way.

She was right about one thing, leaving their lives as rogues was going to lead them into a totally different lifestyle than either of them had experienced. He was weary of it, but he knew it was both the best for his mate, and the cubs he knew they both wanted to badly. Her reaction to the pride's seemingly peaceful existence made him smile, that much was true. In his small excursions out this way, he'd kept a careful eye on the borders. Simply because there was no way he was leaving his family's safety in the hands of someone else's words. But what he had experienced only made him gain further approval for this pride. Safety on the borders, and numerous patrols throughout the day.
"I think its as close to perfect as we're going to find." He knew his words would strike some meaning in Neffy's mind. He wasn't the sort of guy to just admit perfection in any form. "But I want to make sure you are comfortable here. I have been here a few times on my own scouting missions. This place is safe, round the clock patrols and not a sign on trouble. From my talks with others it seems they worship some sort of moon god. But its nothing unnatural, we would just have to acclimate." He nodded digging his paw into the sand. During his scouting missions he had made specific notes that a patrol was typically easy to come by at this time of day. Now all he had to do was wait for the-
Ah! There she was, a petite female, purple in color was scouting along the borders.
"Here, i'll let you hear more about it for yourself my love." Nudging his nose gently against her neck he slowly turned his attention away from his mate and back to the other female.
"Pardon us ... I wonder if we might bother you for some information?"

Nefertari of course did not doubt her mates determination to find them only the best pride to raise their hopefully soon-to-be-growing family. This was another thing she loved about him. His attention to detail. However, she was also just happy enough to accompany him through the rogue lands. When her heart first began to beat only for him she planned on doing just that in fact. That was until she discovered he had feelings for her as well. It was of course no surprise that they became mates.
A gentle smile came to her maw as she nuzzled at her mates neck lovingly. "You already know I trust any decision you make. Although, there has only been one instance where I thought you were dropped on your head as a cub." Nefertari laughed lightly. When her mate called over a bright blue lioness with intricate designs of varying color she found herself slightly in awe. This lioness seemed to be about her age and she looked somewhat refined. Nefertari wondered if this pride had noble's or something, if so, this lioness was surely one right? Maybe not if she was out guarding the border. Either way, Nefertari was curious to know more about this pride.Coeur had noticed the pair of lions just on the other side of the border conversing. Obviously she hadn't thought this to be a cause for alarm. They could be lost or interested in the pride like she had been some time ago. Despite this Coeur decided to wait until they needed something or in case she was wrong, did something that could be a problem. After a few moments of them conversing with one another the blue male with a remarkable mane called out to her.
The lioness took a few steps closer so that she was just on the other side of the border, but close enough that they could talk without needing to shout or anything of that nature. A genuinely gentle smile was visible on her maw. "Yes, of course. What is it you are wanting to know?" Coeur asked, making no signs to hide the fact that she was checking them out in more detail now that she was closer. Yep, they definitely didn't seem to be bad. Either that or they were really good at hiding it. "My name is Coeur by the way, what brings you to the Mwezi?" She asked curiously. With a little background on the couple it might be easier to help them, or so she thought.

Ulimi let out a gentle sigh of relief as the new female made her way closer to them. He couldn't really hide the fact that he was grateful that his mate would follow him anywhere, but he wanted her to be happy to be here. Not because of him, but because she wanted it. He had known coming into this that it wasn't going to be an easy mission. He absolutely loved her, but Nefertari was a sweet, submissive little thing. She preferred to agree with him rather than argue against him. There had only been one time .. the time she had just reminded him of, where she had had the strength to go against him. While he wasn't entirely happy that she chose that time to do so, he still respected her. "Couer you say? That's a very lovely name." He paused a moment to glance at his mate - then back at the female before him. She hadn't seemed jealous, but sometimes she was a bit hard to read. "I am Ulimi'Siri and this is my mate, Nefertari. We were hoping you could share with us a little information about your pride? You see we've been searching for a long time, and we're fairly sure that we'd like to make this place our home." Another pause as he brushed his tail gently against Nefertari's leg. "P-perhaps a little information about how your young are cared for? We're looking to start a family of our soon."

Coeur smiled at Ulimi's compliment, but shrugged it off, not thinking it to be anything more than just that. "Thank you very much." She said, nodding to his mate when she was introduced. "Well, this is Mwezi'Johari. We're a very peaceful pride that worship The Great Lion, although, you don't necessarily have to believe in him too." Coeur noted. They weren't really the type of pride to push their religion on others and while she was an outsider her life led her to believe that he existed. That didn't mean they had to as well. "Cubs? Well they are the sole responsibility of the parents, but everyone here looks out for each other." Seeing as how she loved children yet had none of her own she was beaming from ear to ear. "Their bright, cheerful faces! How could you not want to look after them?" Coeur laughed lightly. "Like yourselves I came to this pride seeking whatever course my life was on. I was a noble lady in my home pride and here I was able to be something more, a guard. This pride isn't for everyone, but I would say that I'm incredibly happy to live here." Coeur said honestly. She wasn't intending to sound like a merchant selling their goods. "Ah." Coeur said, her tail flicking up behind her as if she had remembered something. "We do have a initial ritual where you are given some nectar from a flower and it puts you into a slumber. When you wake up it's nighttime and the moon--the great lion--dictates what sort of life you will have here and the type of jobs you are good for." She added. Somehow it seemed a bit odd to explain to another. "If you do choose to join the Mwezi they will be able to give you a better description of what happens I assure you."As the lioness Coeur spoke Nefertari nodded her head in understanding and also returned her greeting in the same manner. To her the pride sounded like a wonderful place to live and the way Coeur explained it made her feel like the lioness really did love where she was. When Coeur informed them that she had been a rogue for the time it took her to reach this pride from her old one Nefertari really seemed to soak in her words. She wasn't a lioness who had only known this pride and it's life. She'd known other ways of living as well and had deemed this one the best. It made her feel much more comfortable than she had before. If Coeur had been a salesman she would have bought whatever she was selling. "A initial ritual?" She said under her breath so only Ulimi would hear. Admittedly it seemed to be an extremely odd thing to undergo, but if it was tied to their religion, well that made a bit more sense. Her purple eyes found her mate and she gently rubbed her shoulder against his. Turning slightly away from Coeur so that she could more directly face him. Nefertari couldn't help, but wonder what his opinion was of this pride and if he felt it was a good place to raise their cubs. Nefertari certainly wasn't opposed to it, but if Ulimi felt there were better places out there for them well she wasn't going to oppose. "What do you think?" She asked him in a whisper.

Ulimi listened to Couer's words, doing his best to remain both non judgemental and fair. Though he had to admit there were some things he found odd. He'd never been on to believe in gods or things of the nature, despite the many lions he'd met who claimed to have met them. So the idea of a 'great lion' was a stretch for him. He became a bit more at ease once Couer explained that they weren't forced to believe in such things. He may have even let a sigh of relief slip through his otherwise serious demeanor. Her explanation of the care of cubs seemed more than fair to him. In his honest opinion, he wouldn't have it any other way. To have his cubs raised by nanny's and caretaker's ... it just didn't seem right to him. Cubs were meant to be raised by their parents, and it was as simple as that! Add to that, Couer's excitable nature when it came to speaking of them, and Ulimi was set completely as ease. His cubs would be safe here, and that was what mattered to Nefertari and himself more than anything. A safe place to raise a family ... it was what had sent them on this journey in this first place. As Nefertari turned to face him, Ulimi caught her eyes and knew in an instant how she felt. Though her reaction to the ritual was understandable, he saw no harm in it so long as it wouldn't harm them in turn. Patting his mate's paw with his own, he tried to calm her down a bit before he began to speak. Though unlike Nefertari, he spoke aloud not caring to hide his tone from Couer. He had nothing to hide, and even if he did, he wouldn't do well to keep it hid for long. "The ritual will be fine, I see no reason for us to fear it." Lifting his head to face Couer once more, and asked his question. "The nectar, from this flower? Is it at all poisonous or harmful to those who ingest it?" He already anticipated her answer, but he wanted Nefertari to hear it. It would calm her nerves, and sway her in the right direction, which was his intended result. Inhaling a deep breath, he turned his attention back to Nef and smiled. "I think this is what we've been looking for my dear. A place safe from the outside world, where our cubs can be raised the proper way." Ulimi added a curt nod to his words, "But it all boils down to what you think ... I've told you before, i'll follow you to the ends of the earth. If this isn't the place .. we'll simply push on until we find it."

When Ulimi spoke up once more Coeur smiled and shook her head. "No one has ever been harmed by the nectar." Her pink eyes turned to Nefertari, but she took a few steps back after nodding to them both to ensure that they didn't feel pressured into their decision. It was hard to change your whole life like this so she could understand the lioness' hesitation, but she also hoped that she could see the good in making a decision like this as well. Whether it was here or not. Coeur drifted to thoughts of the pride she was born in and her family that she left behind. Her parents would be proud of her, at least that's what she thought."Ulimi." Nefertari said once Coeur had pulled herself back a little to give them a bit of privacy. "I think this is a great place to raise our children." Nefertari smiled, tears welling up in her eyes in the process but she kept them at bay. "This pride is well protected, friendly and open. Sure neither one of us are particularly religious but what's wrong with opening our children up to different viewpoints?" She asked, hoping he'd see that she saw the religion as more of a learning point for their children than anything. Her grin couldn't be shaken and she gently rubbed her nose against his cheek. "We found a home!" Nefertari said enthusiastically as she licked his cheek, making sure that Coeur didn't see.Depawsit [[Should we end it at your post or maybe one more after that where Coeur leads them in?]]

He offered Coeur a simple nod as she stepped away. It was both a thank you, and an acceptance. He was relieved to hear the nectar had no ill effects, but he'd already assumed as much. Her assurance was just icing on the cake. Nefertari's words shook him from his thoughts and brought him back to reality, where he found himself closer to her. He could see the tears forming in her eyes, and gently pressed her nose against her cheek to calm her. "I don't think there's anything wrong with that." Her infectious smile soon spread across his face as the two stood there in silence. Both imagining the children that would one day be their's. The gentle nuzzle against his cheek warmed his heart and he allowed a small purr to begin in his throat. "At last..." He purred gently, returning her lick with one of his own. "We're finally home."~Kiana_Nala~ We could if you'd like to, i'll leave that part up to you. Give me a little bit to finish this game i'm playing, and i'll prepare Ulimi's part fo the breeding form C:
