- The hunt had not gone well for Shahidi. It had gone the opposite of well, really. With all of the pressure of killing something before sun down and with Fsi watching every movement she made she'd gotten very overwhelmed. So when she'd suddenly scared a hare into the open she'd no time to think before suddenly and swiftly leaping after it.
But things had taken a turn for the worse - (it was like fate wanted to keep playing one cruel joke after another on her) and she'd fallen hard into a ditch. She'd hurt her ankle badly and several other places were sure to bruise, though from Fsi or the fall she wasn't certain, and she wasn't sure if it was sprained or broken.
It had been several days and she was surprised that she hadn't been left behind by Fsi yet.

Fsi-toyo grumbled as he made his was back towards the injured lioness. He had left her alone for a little bit to hunt so both of them wouldn’t starve to death. This made Fsi appear quite angry on the outside, with the scowl on his maw as he carried the two dead birds in his mouth. This female was definitely causing more trouble then what she was worth. Fsi just wanted to leave her behind, let her fend for herself, but for some reason couldn’t.
It wasn’t like he cared for the lioness. It was just… No, he didn’t care for her at all.
His orange eyes looked past the land, spotting his injured servant lying there. He padded up to the female, dropping the carcasses not directly in front of her, but near enough where she wouldn’t have to work too hard. He wasn’t going to let her be babied just because she couldn’t do a normal lionesses duty.
“Eat.” Was all he said.
- Although the dark male wasn't being nice, he was definitely not... as cruel as when she'd first met him. It was weird to think of it like that; a leopard did not change his spots, after all. Still, she didn't know Fsi that well and thought she probably never would.
Part of her had wished he'd just left her, so she could be done with the whole ordeal... but she knew she was likely to have died if that'd been the case. It was not easy to hunt with an injured paw, even a minor injury.
As he dropped the dead bird near to her she eyed it a moment, wondering if he knew how to hunt at all. She felt her stomach rumble; birds were not filling in the least. All bones, barely any meat and- gods above wasn't she being selfish? She looked embarrassed for a moment, even though there was no way of him knowing her thoughts. "Th-thank you..." She didn't really want to call him master, but wasn't sure.... no. She was sure he would become furious if she forgot to use it. "Master."
She shifted herself enough, eyes shutting to ignore the pain in her paw, before moving to start eating the bird.

Fsi was a lion. Of course he didn’t know how to hunt well. He was lucky to even manage to snag the birds to begin with. Don’t ask how he did it, he just…did. His lip lifted a little in a snarl, dropping it just about as quickly as it appeared. He had to keep it calm…just for a little bit.
“Yeah, whatever,” he grumbled, taking a bird for himself as he plopped next to the lioness. He rather enjoyed having the smaller body next to him, even if it made her uncomfortable. She was his property after all; it didn’t matter what she felt.
“Why are you so clumsy anyways, pet?” Fsi asked softly, his eyes narrowed a bit. Why had he chosen this female if she couldn’t stand on her own two feet. This might have been the first time the darker lion expressed emotion other than anger towards the female.

- As the large male sat down next to her she could feel her whole body going tense. She didn't like when he was close, especially after their first meeting. She didn't like when he spoke to her, ordered her around... hell, she just didn't like him period. So when he asked why she was always so clumsy she frowned, wishing perhaps that she could just choke on a bone and be done with it.
Her ears lowered and she sort of hunched over, almost like she was trying to fold into herself. She hadn't been so clumsy before Fsi was in her life. "Of course I wouldn't know the reason I was so clumsy." She really tried not to snap those words at him, but hadn't been able to help it.

Fsi’s eyes narrowed. What was with that tone? It just wouldn’t do. When she was better, Fsi would make sure she would watch her tongue with the attitude, but for now, he let it go. He couldn’t injure and already injured pet. She’d be useless for him for even longer! The darker male wasn’t going to be attending to Shahadi day and night for the rest of their time together.
“A lioness is supposed to be graceful, cunning and beautiful.” The male murmured. At least Shahidi was one of the three?
“It must be genetics then.” Fsi-toyo stated quietly, in a matter-of-fact tone. He had his prejudice against the other gender, but he still knew a majority of them were actually quite great at what they did, even if he didn’t want to admit it out loud.
“When do you think you will be able to walk again?” His tone turned back to his old gruff self again.
- Shahidi had been preparing herself for his awful temper... so when no harsh words came she was confused. For a moment she was suspicious, thinking that perhaps it was some sort of trap so she'd say something wrong and get him even angrier... but the only thing he did was say how he thought lionesses should be. She blew air past her nostrils, not sure how to reply to that really. She'd been plenty confident and graceful before Fsi had entered her life, hadn't she?
And when he said that it must have been genetics she felt her own temper rising. "Perhaps it's due to feeling nervous, inadequate and being treated like a think instead of a lioness." She said, each word clipped and short. "Master." She added, staring down at her bird. She hadn't touched another bite, and she could feel her eyes filling with tears. Angry tears.
He was suddenly gruff again... she didn't care, this was so tiring. "When my paw is fully healed, obviously. Master." Oh, that did feel better! If she could just keep calling him master in a condescending way... of course, she was probably pushing her luck.

The day seemed to darken, or perhaps, it was just the aura that surrounded Fsi-toyo. He was getting irate, quite angry, actually. Before he could even think about stopping his actions, the lion whipped his neck around, teeth bared as he clamped on her neck in a quick bite, before releasing her and standing on his feet. He was over this attitude! He had given her his protection, and what was all she needed to do for him was to hunt (and perhaps other things that Fsi hadn’t quite gotten to yet).
“All a lioness is is a thing. When they learn that lesson, they will find that life will become much easier for them,” he snarled, his tail whipping around to express the anger boiling inside him.
“Well then, pet,” his ‘nice’ tone was gone. “I hope nothing decides to venture out this way then while you are on the mend. It’ll be a shame if something happens to you when you are…unable to defend yourself well now wouldn’t it?” Fsi turned his back on the female, beginning to stalk away. He wouldn’t leave her to die. Oh no, he would just leave her until her sense was brought back to her, if that was even possible.

- She snarled very slightly as suddenly his jaws were wrapped around her neck. Not tight enough to puncture anything important, but still hard enough to draw a few droplets of blood, she was sure. She went completely still, ears back, save for her tail which whipped back and forth angrily. When he released her she was surprised she wasn't as afraid as she'd been in the past; no, she was too angry and too hard up on hope for that.
His words made the fur on her neck stand on end, but still she wouldn't dare look at him. She was entering waters brimming with alligators, she knew, and though she wasn't feeling scared she was also not feeling stupid. So she kept her words to herself.
For an instant there was panic in her mind when he began to move away, quickly she wished it away. This was her chance to be free of the male! Hurt paw or not... she would either starve or be attacked or find someone who would offer up kindness rather than violence; she would take her chances.
She let her anger boil down, waiting until he was far enough away that he wouldn't be able to hear her. "And once you learn that lionesses aren't a thing perhaps you will become a better lion for it." She was shaking though... todays journey would be hard but she'd still make herself walk as far as she could, hurt paw or not.

Fsi didn’t look back. Instead, he kept walking forward. Even if the lioness decided to try something stupid and move on an injury, the lion was sure he’d be able to find her rather quickly. Besides, the rogue lands were not kind to those with injuries. One false slip, and the pale female could find herself in a life or death situation with the merciless hyenas.
Only once when he was far out did he stop and turn around. She hadn’t left.
If she did decide to move, the male would follow. He wasn’t going to let his pet slip from his grasps so easily. Though, if she did decide to move---Fsi would be able to tell just how strong this lioness was. The weak would stay put, awaiting death; the strong were the ones that would try to make the best of things.
Fsi was intrigued to say the least… Just exactly what would this lioness do?
