Charger quietly bent his head to take a cool drink of water. He looked up to watch his refection in the chill water and smiled. His wispy, cloud like locks billowed and shifted like they always had. They made him unique and he'd always enjoyed that fact. He didn't think of himself as vain, just appreciative that he was not only handsome with his pale blue hide, glorious long horn and the mane and tail fluff he'd been admiring in the water earlier. Too bad he was the only one around to enjoy it. He backed away from the water to find something tasty to nibble on and think on how to rectify the lonely situation.

The cool breeze of the night ruffled the mares curly mane as she stood looking beyond her. It didn't seem like anything special but if she took one more step she'd cross out of herd territory... and thats just what she did. Her Uncle Ama had finally grown older, though not matured so far but it gave her time to spend on her own, and on her own was far more boring and lonely than she remembered it to be.
So tonight she wanted to liven things up, take a rare trip for her across the boarder and enjoy the clear full moon. Peren certainly didn't want to be around her father, mate and children, for them this was a special albeit noisy time and though she still had many of the herd to meet she just didn't want to have another conversation about her family and all it's extension right now.
She kept her pace, step after step through bush and other foliage till she came to a clearing, it was there the moonlight bounced off the water and lit the space up. Lit... him up. As her eyes noticed the other star she couldn't help but stare, he was unusual to the eye yet seemed mostly like any other horse. Peren was to used to either horse or relatives alcor forms that a combination of the two boggled her eyes and she couldn't help her steps from leading straight towards him. "Good evening, I hope I'm not disturbing you" Her words where soft yet with no other noise around she was sure it would carry to the other.

He had his head bent and was quietly chewing on a meal while he pondered his lonely existence when her heard her. He stilt in his chewing and arched his neck back up to face the being with the quiet voice. He fixed on large purple eye on her to study her for a moment before smiling at her. What stood before him now was a stunning purple Lyra and she was looking at him with such awe it made his heart flutter. "Hello." He said in a low masculine voice. The voice might have contradicted his feminine hair but he didn't care. "What are you doing standing there so prettily in the moonlight?" He wondered if he could talk her into staying in his company for a time. It would help lessen his loneliness.

Peren couldn't help a small nervous chuckle to escape at his question as a rush of blood flushed her cheeks slightly at the direct compliment. Though non of her experiences outside the herd had been dangerous they had not been too pleasant... she knew she had to be careful. This male would know nothing of her, could know nothing of her herd, family and all it's going on's. On the other hand this was a wonderful prospective and just what she was searching for, someone who didn't know it all, someone new and this someone sure was spurring some unknown feelings within in already.
"Thank you" She finally spoke, remembering that getting lost in her thoughts and not responding for a time could appear rude. "If I am honest..." She took a breath and held it before exhaling and looking to the water "I search for company... perhaps adventure, a distraction and well I have come across you. I am Peren." The mare had to stop herself announcing her origins, she was not embarrassed but tonight she had not wanted it to be a defining point. She would happily talk about her herd should it come up but as she had discovered before, there where lone stars in their world who did not share her views on such things.

He cocked his head at her and lock of his cloud like mane tumbled down off his neck, twisting and undulating as if wanting to break free as the rest of his mane quietly shifted far more slowly. She had just thanked him for a compliment he not even thought about giving. It was merely a truth. "You don't need to thank me. You thank someone when they do something nice for you, not when they speak a simple fact." Puzzled he walked slowly closed to be in better earshot of her quiet voice. He listened and smiled first at her admission and then at her name. "I'm not sure adventure will be found with me. I wander but I'm not an adventurer. Often I prefer to stay hidden...just not lately. Company I can do though. I was just thinking I might need some myself. My name is Charger. Your name sounds rather whimsical. Is it short for something?"

"I am not used to such... direct nice things being said to or about me." She considered that and realised it was actually true, she was just Lores daughter or a stranger and Peren could not honestly remember a time where she had received such a compliment straight out.
A smile brightened her face and her eyes seemed to absorb the light around them as he spoke. With a nod she kept her quiet tone and lowered her wings to stand calmly near him as he came closer "A pleasure to meet you Charger, then if it is no bother I should enjoy to share company on this fine night. I am sure I could make do without an adventure." At that she allowed a small chuckle then pondered her name "I am only known as Peren, though I'm told it is taken from Perennial, something to do with a purple ice plant, my twin held fiery colours whereas I inherited Icy colours." It had only been mentioned in passing to her, and she had been told her name was more than it was so she just assumed it simple was, what it was.

Again Charger cocked his head at her. Did she know know she was pretty? Or was it really that no one had ever told her. A pity. "Your friends and/or family must be blind then."
He listened at she talked and simply enjoyed the sound of her voice. Soft and musical. Perhaps her fur was a soft as her voice. Her smile was enchanting at the very least. He wasn't sure how he'd made her so happy but he supposed he'd go with it. See if he couldn't continue to get her to smile at him like that. "Ice and Fire. You do not seem particularly icy to me Peren. Nor does your coloring. I think I saw a flower the color of the tips of your wings once. It was very beautiful."

Peren opened her mouth to respond but then she thought about it... her family where not blind but then she was not exactly special compared to them. They had no real reason to comment on her appearance even if she was unique in her purple tones at least as far as she'd met. As for friends? A pang at her heart made her realise she didn't exactly hold any true friendships, Ama her uncle was sort of allocated to her... those she met only happened once then disappeared into the vast numbers of her herd. It was these thoughts that allowed the tense feeling his comment spurred to dissipate, she didn't want to think about them, not tonight.
"Thank you" There she went again, manners and curtsy just flowed without her really thinking about it, how had she became so well mannered when so many of her siblings, half or not had not? Another compliment, so smooth from the males tongue, she truly had no experience with it and it made her heart flutter, she felt... special. "I believe it was simply our colouring that done those nicknames, I can see you are far closer to the colours of ice. Though you too seem to hold such characteristics."

He was seriously beginning to wonder about her. It was his experience that most mares when they reached a certain age were aware of their beauty. Some even flaunted it. She appeared to only want to talk to him with her charmingly quiet voice. "I always thought, when I look at myself, that I look more like a cloud." He pulled his tail forward to let her watch the swirling, twisting undulations closer. "Doesn't it remind you of a cloud? A big puffy one." He smiled and then looked up to stare at her. He couldn't stop his tongue and more or less didn't want to when it slipped. "If I told you that you're the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long while would you let me stay near you for a time? "

The mare was already chuckling away as she looked at his tail and with her smile beaming she nodded "It does! Your mane is ever so unique, bouncing and fluffy like a cloud on a bright summers day." She could actually relate to that having seen a few with her uncle and his strange all over the place sleep patterns. Though she was mostly nocturnal she had seen a fair number of sun filled days and his mane and tail most certainly did remind her of clouds now that he'd mentioned it.
And then her mouth dropped open as she froze on the spot and stared at him, at a loss for words for the second time already tonight. "I..." She stammered trying to recover she'd really had no experience in this field, being admired or complimented was completely new to her. As her heart continued to race and what felt like a soft fluttering of butterflies in her stomach she tried to blink herself back to reality. "Do... Do you mean that?" It was difficult for her to stop from spewing a whole spiel about how he didn't have to lie to gain her company, yadda yadda... but then it wasn't the first nice thing he'd said... and she had to know his answer before assuming anything else.

He was slightly affronted she'd think him anything less than honest. But then she'd clearly never known flattery. If she let him hang around he'd throw it at her in droves. He thought all mares deserved it. Especially since this one didn't know she was beautiful. He grinned inwadly, if she blushed like that every time he told he could die a happy start. "I have never, ever been anything but honest. Why would you assume differently. Have you ever looked at your reflection? He pointed toward the water as if she should go look. "Maybe you'll see what I see with your gorgeous purple fur and quiet, gentle hypnotic voice."' ((I go in and edit and then my brain goes here. xD))

Biting her lip she felt embarrassed to have implied he was a liar and possibly hurt his feelings, and taking his cue she turned and took the few steps to peer down in her own reflection. She saw... her, just plain ol' Peren, with her different shades and tones of purples and markings, her lyra wings which to her seemed just common place. Turning slightly to look at her other side, she supposed she did like how symmetrical her markings where.... She loved to fly but had never done anything with her mane or tail that some of the other females in the herd had.
Breathing a heavy sigh she spoke in her gentle tone, there was no need to shout with him so close and things so quiet and probably sleeping. "I am sorry... I did not mean to imply that you where not honest, simply I am not used to such things being said to me... It is nice.." She trailed off and just like that her smile was back, she hoped she hadn't insulted him but he was still here. "But I will stay with you Charger, the night is ours if you will have my company after I have been so rude?" For this she had turned back to him, her smile directed just for him and her eyes full of hope that she wasn't to be turned away.

He grinned at her back, full out grinned like a fool. This was going to be so much fun. She thought herself rude and by the way she was looking at herself in the water he was pretty sure she thought herself plain, she probably even thought her company was sub par. He chuckled inwardly. She didn't realize that to him she was a puzzle he would relish figuring out. He did not know why he was not willing to leave her side but he'd never been one to question his feelings or impulses. When he was sad he hurt, happy he laughed, scared he ran, and solitary he hid. It was funny that just right now he did not want to hide. "They way you're looking at yourself, you must be surrounded by some damn gorgeous swans and peacocks to not see you equal them. Sometimes there is beauty in what you are. Innocent, quiet, guileless and untainted...if a bit mislead." He was still smiling when he walked forward to stand next to her in front of the water. "When I saw you standing there my heart almost broke, so quiet and still and looking as if you were born of the night and stars themselves. But we are stars so I suppose it fits." He looked into the water at the refection they made together. "When I look at you I see eyes with the very stars held inside them, a terrifically pretty hide the compliments my own." He leaned toward her to let her see how his color and mane played beside hers. "I see the sky in your wings and hair and it gladdens me that you love the sky you can fly in and most of all I see the gentleness that you ooze from your soul. I think I would stay beside you for just a small piece of that gentleness. You make me realize how much I crave that. I know it seems sudden but I'm not one to pass up a good thing. I'll follow you to wherever you go. Is there a home I need to now about? Or am I being presumptuous and you already have a male to go back to?" His ears drooped just slightly at this thought. He however refused to let his feelings color his expression.

The words seem to flow from the male so effortlessly, smooth and full of truth and feeling. There were so many unusual stars in her herd that she could accept that within she felt boring, normal and pale in comparison to every other star she met. Perens eyes went wide as her smile faltered and he came closer to stand next to her, her gaze fixed on him. Inside her heart began to race again his speech touching something deep and otherwise left neglected, it was this that spurred the tear to slowly roll down her cheek.
At the mention of his own hide her gaze slowly shifted to the water's reflection, looking at them together it seemed so perfect. There was no doubt Peren was innocent, an inexperienced adult and her naivety in the field was controlling her right now. She didn't think of how Charger was practically a stranger, nor that he could have any intention of her... right now she just was just running on what her body told her. Leaning to the side and turning her head at the last moment she found herself nuzzling against the side of the males face, stopping once she had enough time to think how inappropriate it may be to act so.
"I...I am sorry... that." She cut herself off... should she be apologizing? She had never felt this way, nor acted so rashly on emotion, it was deep to have her forget all her boundaries so quickly. This was a new situation for her... and so different from any other encounter she'd ever had, within or outside the herd.
