Remarque was running out of days before Winter arrived, and he was trying to make the best of it. Cold had never been something he'd enjoyed dealing with, and after the sickness he'd received from last winter, he was a bit preoccupied with taking whatever precautions he could to avoid a repeat. However, he had duties, and he would meet them as best he could.

Now, he was like a bear preparing to hibernate; he had gathered much energy throughout the year, but now he was in overdrive. He needed to do what he could now that he might convince himself to take it easy during the coldest winter nights.

He'd gathered the energy of four tonight, and had hoped for many more. Moving quickly both kept him warm and ensured he was covering a lot of ground; he had not planned to encounter any other soldiers in this war—until he mirrorwalked into an area positively smothered in Order energy. His lip curled into a half sneer as he pulled himself out of the mirror; the power level made him first suspect Camelot—in which case, he had a bone to pick. He had not yet forgotten the pain Camelot put him through the last time they'd met up, and he was rather keen to see if the male still had such a foul opinion of the Dark Mirror Senshi.

Over the past few days, Valhalla had been out searching for a certain energy signature. It was a little difficult when there was more than one close to what he wanted, but it was also able to narrow down his search a bit.

He needed to speak with Remarque, and had ended up searching most of the city, well into the night. He was a senshi that he felt could do something to help him with his current situation, and if anyone would hear him out, at least... it would be him. Or at least that was the impression he'd taken away from the last few run-ins he had with the young man.

Valhalla was just about to give up for the night when what he had hopefully been searching for suddenly appeared. A strong energy signal, much in the same range of his own, only saturated in chaos. It was always surprising to him to run into those he had met months ago, only to find that he now had the potential to be on an equal plateau, in terms of energy, at least... He still refused to think of those with lower energy signatures as below him.

The knight waited for the energy to come towards him, wanting to give him enough room to keep the mirror he'd used hidden, and hopefully he would be returned the same respect by making sure any civilians he'd drain of energy would be left in a safe place.

It was a grey moral area, but Valhalla had never been one to see things in black and white...

Remarque continued approaching, however blinked when he realized it was not Camelot in his line of vision, but Valhalla. "Well, well," he greeted. "Look at you! Nice cape, Valhalla."

He wasn't sure whether to be pleased or disappointed that it wasn't Camelot; on one hand, he'd have liked to check in on the older knight to see if he was still up to no good, though running into Valhalla had never proved to be a painful encounter in the past.

And besides—naturally he'd want to know that the male had gone from Squire to Knight. It might have bothered him if he'd figured Valhalla would use that power to try and crush out the Dark Mirror Court, though for all that Remarque had gathered, Valhalla was just some guy trying to keep the world at peace.

"Good to see you again," he added when he was nearer, flashing a friendly enough grin as he came to a stop in front of him.

Valhalla was relieved when it did end up being Remarque, although his expression turned slightly awkward as his cape was mentioned. “Ah, yeah, it’s okay,” he mumbled, swatting at some of the fabric as if to magically get rid of it. He didn’t mind it, but felt rather self-conscious when it was mentioned.

“Same,” he nodded to him with a strained smile. Unfortunately, he wasn’t there to just chit-chat. “Hey, I’ve got a problem,” he said, deciding to forego any small talk. “There’s a Dark Mirror Senshi who’s been stalking my friend. I’m not sure how far it went, but I’m pretty sure some sexual molestation was involved... if not implied,” he said, his frown steadily growing deeper.

“I don’t know if you all know each other. Said he had a creepy smile... took her belt and pocket knife... knew details about her life and her boyfriend’s name...” he told him, shifting uncomfortably and crossing his arms over his chest. “She doesn’t think it has anything to do with Ares, but would you have any idea why this creep is stalking my friend?”

Remarque seemed a bit surprised by Valhalla's apparent concern—and then again with the information he was provided. Firstly, a Dark Mirror Senshi stalking someone? That wasn't exactly the image he wanted to be painted of the Court, particularly in regards to sexual molestation. Gathering energy, he could defend. Felonies and misdemeanors on some random civilian? That could get bad if word of that got out.

Remarque was all for flaunting power, but abusing it? Yeah, that wasn't exactly his cup of tea. That it was apparently a male causing this trouble, he racked his mind for who fit the bill. The only male senshi in the Court he'd seen in recent months were Virtus and Loke, neither of which he'd pegged for the sort. Virtus might be a little too friendly, and Loke a little too blunt, but neither seemed innately criminal.

"No," he answered briefly. "I've never been in a situation were stalking and sexual molestation was encouraged. This isn't a situation I've heard about, so I don't know who you're talking about. Who is your friend, and what do you know about the one stalking her?"

It might help if he knew what was special enough about her that one of their own decided to get so involved—and hopefully give him a clue as to who was giving them a bad reputation.

Valhalla opened his mouth almost immediately, ready to spill all the information he could think of to let Remarque know just who Zia was and their relationship, but miraculously stopped himself before he could.

“I... Don’t know if I can trust you,” he said slowly, shifting awkwardly as he stood in place, his arms finally lifting to cross over his chest defensively. Remarque was in the DMC... he could hear in the back of his head all the reasons not to say anything, although his first instinct was to tell him all he knew.

He couldn’t understand why. It wasn’t as though they’d met on several occasions... Maybe it was the fact that he hadn’t tried attacking him when the Ambush was taking place. He knew they’d made eye contact on a few occasions and Valhalla had even stopped Tsui from attacking him...

But he was part of the DMC, and that was just bad business all around.

“No offense...” he added sheepishly, feeling as though he was doing something wrong. “I... is there any way to just... keep an eye out...? I don’t want her hurt...”

Despite the fact that they were on different sides, Remarque did immediately take offense to being told he couldn't be trusted. He looked at Valhalla with an expression of sour surprise, blinked in disbelief, and then crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back. His posture said he was on the defense, though his expression gradually shifted to show less emotion. "Sure," he replied after a moment. "You could trail her every time she goes out to make sure nobody's tailing her. But if she doesn't like one stalker, I'm not sure she'd appreciate two." His tone changed from forced calm to one of mild disbelief. "Really, Valhalla, you don't think that after all this time of knowing me I can't be trusted to at least try to take responsibility for someone's misconduct within the Court? I can't help if I don't know who's the problem."

Valhalla nodded in agreement, feeling awkward and looking as though he were at odds with himself. On one hand, he knew he shouldn’t be too familiar with someone on the other side, but on the other hand... how the hell were they going to end the fighting if they didn’t know anything about each other...?

“That’s the thing...” he said with an awkward grin, clearly feeling guilty about his own thoughts. “I do trust you, but I probably shouldn’t.”

He knew he shouldn’t... Remarque was part of the DMC, he could end up turning on him and those he cared about at the drop of a hat... But he hadn’t attacked him when they’d been fighting...

Maybe Valhalla was just dumb in thinking he could trust whoever, and hope that one day he would be right, and not end up dead because of it.

“Thank you... I knew I could count on you,” he said with a small nod as he stepped backwards, wanting to give Remarque a little more room to make his departure as well, clearly not going to give him trouble about his appearance in the city. He knew he could trust him to do what he needed and get out...

Well, Valhalla was right about that—he probably shouldn't trust Remarque. But, he did, and Remarque currently had no intention of betraying that trust. Valhalla was far less radical than some of the other knights Remarque had encountered, and though he seemed to be stingy with information, he was at least a better source than nothing.

The eternal senshi nodded in response to the word of thanks, however had no intention of leaving without first informing, "You know I'll be watching the rest of the Court, though. If it happens again, this stalking thing? Get in contact with me. I might not know who it is, but I can at least remind everyone to mind their manners."

Any sort of bad publicity was only going to weigh the Court down, and considering the list the White Moon already had against them, Remarque didn't want stalking tacked onto the bottom of it.
