He wandered from his herd; his mind fought him every step he took. He couldn't take it no more. He just felt so different compared to everyone else. The weird glances, the whispers and distance. He just felt so separate from and alone. He bothered not to say goodbye to his parents or his brother. Perhaps he was just like his dad? Someone who couldn't stay in one place for to long when feeling trapped.
Griever had only made one contact with one other soquili that didn't shun him. He could only hope he'd cross paths with her again....
He found himself wandering through the woods at night. The moonlight his only light which seeped through the trees. It was a cold night and the sky was dark much darker then normal. Maybe he should return to the flock? That's where his grandparents remained and perhaps they'd accept him more. Or maybe his better chances was to find himself a reject like himself? Someone feared and they'd be able to form a little group of their own. All this rejection was causing hate for himself.
How can one meet someone to love when he hates himself. No, his best chances was to return to the harpies. If they'd accept him. He was unsure if they'd allow him in the group--they might toss him to the skinwalkers.
Griever stopped in a clearing to catch his breath. He was running for so long it almost felt like forever. His breath was visible due to the cold "If I am a monster? Perhaps I should be more like a monster." He said to himself. Become a hermit and scare off anyone that came his way. Yes, that sound like a better option then the other two. Become someone to fear and perhaps gain some power. A small dark grin crossed his lips and his eyes slanted in the darkness. Sound pleasurable..

She was here... She was finally here.
Xolotlcoatl blinked, her eyes flickering around the area. She could remember when she was a human, with her family. But the realization that struck her caused the female to know that she had to go with her brothers. She hadn't been able to prevent the events from happening, prevent the bad things from coming and taking everything. She wasn't sure where they were, honestly. She had been searching for them for a few days. Breathing out a sigh, Xolotlcoatl shook her head for a moment before she continued forward, her wings giving a light flutter as she moved. The mare glanced down at her hooves, before she shook her head a bit again. She almost missed her hands.
Her ears perked up. Xolotlcoatl tilted her head, staring toward the side. She could have swore she felt something. Moving toward the top of the hill, Xolotlcoatl stared down toward the woods. She glanced around slowly, eyes flickering, looking for the source of the feeling that edged around her body. Within a few seconds, she spotted something down within a clearing ahead. She stared for a few moments, before cocking her head to the side. She had a bad feeling. Though she could see the outcomes before she knew what was going on within her. If this stallion continued on his path, then he would be a one of the worst stallions around. If he went back to a place that she had discovered call "The Flock", then he would be treasured, in some ways, and harmed in others. And if she intervened...
Xolotlcoatl shook out her mane some, causing the feathers on her mask to shift. Her bells rang somewhat as she moved. Within a few moments, the mare moved down toward the clearing, her eyes flickering for a few seconds. Smiling somewhat, the mare moved toward the stallion, staring toward him some. Perhaps she did this, it would mean that he wouldn't end up in a place that would harm him in the long run. Tilting her head some, she walked slightly so that she could come more so into his line of sight. "Good evening. How are you this star filled night?" She said, her voice as gentle as the ringing bells against her mane.

The coldness was bitter; his feathers ruffled to the chill in the air. He was about to head back into the thickness of the forest until the sound of bells caught his attention. Griever glanced around his surroundings and seeing nothing at first, that is until he looked up. A winged mare was descending from the sky. He paused and drew back a little startled at first.
He's known little of the angeni race. For he only met one and she was a bit ah--what do you call it? Spoiled.
His blue pupil-less eyes fell upon her as he looked her over. Taking in the image of this angeni and analyzing her with his mind. She had four large wings and feather headdress quite unique he thought to himself. As she spoke to him, he felt no reason to fear or any malice. She had one of those sweet voices that seemed she could do no harm to anyone.
That smile alone he thought could melt any ice. He gave a light nod "Hello?" He seemed almost shocked she'd talk to a creature like him. His gaze averted and suddenly he felt on display. He'd could only imagine what she thought of his appearance. A monster? Hideous? The list could go on.
"What brings a mare of such status around here?" He asked her quietly.

The Angeni let her wings flutter somewhat, before spreading her lower two wings, the upper two settling lightly against her back. She folded the other two, slowly against her sides, before tilting her head to the side, and let her smile continue to hold onto her features. She wouldn't let her features falter. In life, she had seen worse than this stallion. In her opinion, the worse thing a person could have would be a Skinwalker. That being said, she was certain that this stallion couldn't be one. And if it was up to her, she would ensure that he didn't become one either.
Xolotlcoatl stared quietly toward him for a second. Not in a judging way, but more so observing. He didn't seem like a dangerous type. Inclining her head lightly, the mare smiled at him. "Hm? Status?" She questioned, staring curiously. What status? Xolotlcoatl looked around curiously. She eyed her wings some, letting them shift lightly, before folding against her back once more. She shook her head some with a soft laugh, before letting her eyes once more fall on the stallion, smiling at him gently. "Status? Come now, I am an equal to you. What would make you think that I am higher than you?" She asked, her voice truly curious.
The Angeni couldn't help it. This stallion was already amusing her. And not in a way that would make him seem like an outcast. Yes, he looked different then some of the other Soquili that Xolotlcoatl had seen recently, but he still held much promise. The mare was certain so long as they continued to talk, and she could help him. And so long as she continued to do so, she was certain she could help him.

He took another step back once she landed. Griever held his gaze on her to keep an eye on her. He was sure she meant no harm but he didn’t trust easily. His golden color talons sunk into the earth’s surface and he said “Equal?” He felt unsure of it. The other angeni he met was nothing equal to him in fact she made it out of her way to tell him so. His gaze hardened as he thought of that spoiled crowned fool for a second before turning his attention back on this angeni.
“For most of my life I haven’t felt rather equal but below.” He told her in a low ton as if he wanted no one else but her to hear. He was unsure why he was opening up to this winged mare but he could feel his wall easily being knocked down. Was it true about these angeni? Did they have some kind of a power perhaps? At least that was the old tales other soquili in his herd would talk about. They could just be tales and nothing more. He closed his eyes briefly and opened them up again “Who are you?” he questioned her.
He probably shouldn’t talk to some stranger. Giving his life story without even a name to go by; he felt a single cold droplet of snow land on his back. Which caused his feathers to ruffle and he glanced up at the sky. Dark clouds hid the stars and moon so there was barely any light.

Xolotlcoatl tilted her head curiously. She watched the stallion with intrigued red eyes. Her ears wiggled for a second, perking up toward him. She was curious why it was he looked different. Given the knowledge he had, she also knew her brothers would have loved to be here; to see this. Flicking her tail lightly, the mare lowered her head some, peering up at him somewhat. She was curious as to why it was he felt like that. It didn't seem logical to her. After all, she could have sworn that, given the right thought process, anyone would want to feel as equals to the world. What Soquili in their right mind would allow another to feel so low and worthless?
Sighing some, the Angeni shifted to stand in front of him, more so wanting to watch him through his eyes and not seem like she was judging his appearance. Though she was quite curious about the golden claws, the feathers in his hair. She could slightly recall something about that Flock that she heard about before, but that didn't mean she knew much. She had learned that they sometimes had claws and feathers... Perhaps she should go and venture that way, try to learn about them. Shaking the thought from her head, Xolotlcoatl focused back on the stallion. "That does not seem like a logical thought process. You should feel... above, if not anything else. I disagree with the thought of you being below people." A frown crossed her features as she stared toward the stallion.
Hearing the secondary question, Xolotlcoatl inclined her head gently, as a sort of bowed greeting. "My name is Xolotlcoatl. You may call me Xolotl though, if you wish. And your name, sir?" She said, her voice gentle.

As she continued to look on upon him; he started to feel uncomfortable. How can one look at someone for so long? His claws continue to dig into the ground as if to fight the urge to flee for he feared judgment over anything. He looked away from her when as she spoke “If you say so.” He said softly to her.
Her name, it was something different a bit unique. It wasn’t a name he’s come across in the past. Though would make sense since she was something he never seen in his life. He let his pupil-less eyes wander over the mare taking more into her features. Her colors were very lovely under the scare moonlight and the snowfall.
“I’m Griever.” He lowered his head in a light bow gesture.
“So what brings you to these parts?” He questioned her.

Xolotlcoatl blinked, her head tilting lightly to the side. She flicked her ears, letting her eyes linger for a few moments on the stallion, before shifting to glance toward the trees. So far everything was going all right. She wiggled her nose, shaking out her mane, before she let her gaze lock on him. Griever. The name suited him well. And he seemed to enjoy it. She found that it was good. She tilted her head lightly, smiling at her, before letting a soft shake of her mane cause her eyes flicker to the ground for a moment.
"I was wandering." She stated simply. It took her a moment, but the mare tilted her head for a second, and let her gaze shift along his form once more. She smiled at him, her tail flicking, wings folding along her shoulders and back. "I am in search of my brothers... I have lost them. It is a very long story, but I will not stop until I find them." She said, her voice softening slightly with the end of her thought. She missed her brothers... far too much. Closing her eyes, she breathed out a sigh, before looking up at him once more. "And you?" She asked, voice curious and gentle.

The way the mare kept looking at him made him feel uneasy so he shifted his gaze to look at something else trying to forget her stare. He looked up at the sky and thought about what she had said about trying to find her brothers “I’m sorry. I hope you find them.” He told her softly.
Griever looked back towards her and hesitated a little on speaking about himself. He wanted to tell her things but at the same time he was not sure if he trusted her. It was hard for him to feel easy going unlike some of his relatives and herd members “Just wandering myself.” He told her, he dare not speak on what he was looking for since he himself was unsure of what he was looking for..

Xolotlcoatl smiled at him, nodding her head slightly. She knew that most people said it like that; of course, with her given situation, she was sure that if they knew the whole story, it would be a different matter completely. Pursing her lips as she tried to think, the mare lightly shook her head, before she focused her gaze on the stallion once more. He was just wandering as well? Odd. The Angeni could have swore she felt something odd coming from him; a reason for his movements. Pushing the thoughts aside, she nodded her head gently, and let a small smile move onto her features. "Well then, you know what they say? A party of two is better than a journey of one. Would you like to come with me, Griever? I am certain that you joining me on this quest won't hinder either of us. Trust me." She almost laughed at her statement, but held it back. Her powers amused her, honestly; but she wouldn't tell anyone other than her siblings that.
Now it was true she was asking a stranger to come with her on this quest. And though she didn't know Griever very well, she felt that if he came along, he was certain not to go on a path of destruction; which is what she felt was going to happen. So, in order to prevent him from possibly going the path of darkness, she hoped he would say yes. Xolotlcoatl didn't like the idea of people heading in a path that would get them harmed, possibly even killed, or harm others. So, she prevented that; at all costs. Her smile never flickering, the mare nodded her head in encouragement toward the stallion, hoping that he would agree to the journey ahead.

He seemed surprised by her offer and just froze in place. Griever was not sure on how to reply to her offer. He did not know if he wanted to go or not? Sure it might help her or make her feel at ease to have some sort of company as she traveled to look for her brothers. Yet, this quest was for him to find himself on his own like his father.
Griever just looked to her “I’m flattered by the offer; though I’m unsure of my answer at the moment.”
He did not trust her. He did not really trust anyone. He backed up away from her a little in response of his confusion. He closed his eyes as if he tried to think about her offer more and then opened his eyes to meet her eyes “Will you allow me some time to think about it?” he asked her.

The Angeni shifted no her hooves, her body easily relaxing in her stance. Large ears swiveled a bit, before she smiled. Xolotlcoatl was glad for his caution. Most creatures she met now-a-days wandered the lands with no worries or fears. They trusted every word that any other species even considered to offer to them. And it worried her. She had seen the outcomes of such acts, and it never ended well. Being who she was, Xolotlcoatl hated any outcome that could end in pain and grief. And, thankfully, the stallion that stood before her was not going to head that way. She would ensure that.
"I will gladly give you all the time you need." She said, a smile in her eyes. Tilting her head curiously to the side, she let her gaze flicker up toward the sky, checking the time of day for a moment, before lowering her eyes once more to lock on the stallion before her. Inclining her head softly, she shifted her wings along her back and then started to walk over toward the sound of a brook. "How about a drink then? Surely that wouldn't need much consideration, right?" She asked, a small laugh slipping out of her mouth.
