Kadryn was out hunting dragons on Ayr when she came upon an odd sight. A dragon the size of a large horse sitting on a nest of eggs. Confused and startled at such an odd thing, she quickly flattened herself on the cliff top and peered cautiously over the edge. "Since when did baby or young dragons lay eggs? ...and .. those look so .. different than the dragons I'm used to seeing." She muttered under her breath as she stared at the odd critter. The creature she'd spotted was dragon-like. But it didn't have the smokey look of an Ayrala dragon which inhabited this continent, and it's coloring was so different from any other dragon's she'd seen. It's scales were a reddish brown and had these dull orange strips banding across its body. It looked like a full grown dragon... just shrunken down. The eggs that Kadryn could see were an dull orange... and much too small to be a dragon's. So what was it? Kadryn didn't know, but figured either her father, uncle or teacher would know. So she reached quietly into her bag and withdrew her sketch pad and a pencil so she could draw what this odd creature was.

Kilian grumbled to himself as he trudged through the terrain of Ayr. Why was he here again? Oh yes, that's right, he'd come to prove himself to a group of older Oblivionites. Who was he kidding though? He should have just ignored their taunts. He cursed as a forceful gusy of wind slammed into him, knocking him off his feet. "Damn it." He slammed his fists down onto the ground. He'd be extremely happy to be off of this continent but first he needed to find an Ayrala dragon and fight it. Boy, was that going to be fun...not.
Kilian pushed himself back to his feet and braced himself against the strong winds. He slowly made his way to an outcropping of giant rock formations. They couldn't really be considered mountains. At least they didn't look like any mountains he had ever seen. He sighed as he leaned against a rather large rock and muttered his thanks for some brief shelter from the wind. As he stood there, with his eyes closed, he heard two strange sounds. One was a female voice and the other was a scraping and keening sound. Opening his eyes, he looked around for the source of the sounds.
His eyes trailed up some of the outcroppings of rocks and feel onto a strange sight. A blue haired, female Orderite was staring down at a couple of dragons. Though Kilian wasn't sure they could rightfully be considered dragons. They looked somewhat different than those that he had saw before.

These small dragons certainly were odd. Kadryn could see the mother arranging and rearranging some rocks and greenery near her nest.. kinda how Ma had those movement phases of the decorations when pregnant with Fallon.... Kadryn was engrossed with sketching out what she saw in front of her, worried that the mate of the nested one below would return, if there was one, before she finished. As she was nearing completion of her picture, she saw movement behind her. Had the mate returned? Kadryn quickly rolled over and dashed to the side, grabbing her mace from the ground and brandishing it before she saw what was creeping up on her. A boy, an oblivionite boy. Well, this should be interesting she thought. He had a cloth covering his upper face, did he not like his empty eye sockets? Eanah hadn't seemed concerned about them... A thought raced across Kadryn's mind, how do they see without eyes? She lowered her mace somewhat, but didn't let it go, he could attack after all. Crouching she quietly called out, "If you mean no harm, then be quiet and state your business! I want to finish my picture before the odd dragon below notices me or its mate returns so make it quick."

((Sorry for this being soooo late. I feel so horrible for not getting back to this before now. ;-; )) Kilian blinked a moment before he took a defensive pose. He had no weapon to draw as he had not come to the point where he was able to choose one. His training was slow as of lately. He hadn't been on a dragon hunt in ages and was out of practice. He'd defend himself if he had to. Kilian was surprised, though. The Orderite became indifferent of him as soon as she realized he was just an Oblivionite. He really wasn't too sure what to think. He had ran into both nice ones and not so nice ones. It was the same with his race. But for one to be so indifferent to him was very strange. He was intrigued by what she had said about the small dragon like creatures though. Was it a new breed? Would it be able to defeat? He made his way over to the ledge to take a peak. He snarled at the sight of a dragon and her babies below.

Kadryn waited for the oblivionite boy to speak or react. Would he attack, flee, or perhaps talk... His reaction would determine what she would do.
When she saw him quietly go over and look at what she'd been watching, Kadryn put her weapon down. She didn't feel threatened, if he was going to attack, he'd have done it already, plus she could see that he was unarmed.
She was about to speak when she saw him stiffen. Was it in rage? In surprise? Or fear.. nah, she thought, his body doesn't show any fear.
While he was looking at the small strange dragons, Kadryn took a good look at the boy. His outfit was strange to her eyes, gold and black certainly did suit him, but the color combination and style of the clothes were so foreign. Plus he had that bandanna on... why cover his eye sockets? Was it a fashion statement?
"D'ya know what those mini dragons are? I've never seen one before." She whispered as she crawled to the cliff edge again and took up her drawing utensils again.

Kilian's head swiveled back to the female at her question. "No, I've never seen these creatures before." His attention went back to the small, dragon like creatures. "They sure do resemble dragons, though."
Kilian took a deep breath and stepped away from the cliff edge. While they may not be actual dragons, he still did not like them too much. They resembled the dragons he was use to hunting too closely. Whatever they were, it wasn't good and Kilian would hunt them if he had to.
His attention turned back to the female. "So what are you doing here Orderite? Hunting dragons?" Kilian wasn't too sure if he should trust the female yet. After all, he knew nothing of her.

Kadryn was slightly disappointed when he didn't know what they were, but that was okay, Da or Uncle would know! She smiled at his abrupt question, "Course I'm hunting Dragons! Why else would I come to Ayr? Other than to practice flying, there's not too much here that I can do. Though I keep hoping I'll stumble across some ruin or cave to explore." She sighed and crossed her arms, "Haven't had much luck with that so far. I think I'll probably end up at Eowyn and trying for Kiandri's again."
She looked at the Oblivionite, was he to be trusted? He hadn't done anything bad so far and seemed civil. Perhaps he was like Eanah and would be a friend!

Kilian shrugged at her question about why else she would be here. He had just been trying to fill the awkward silence that seemed to hover around the two of them. She seemed decent enough for an Orderite though he knew that people could lie if the need arose.
"My name's Kilian, by the way." He said as he extended his hand in what he hoped would be considered a friendly gesture. "An adventure in a cave sounds interesting. I've not explored this land too much and I've only ever fought Ysali dragons." Kilian blushed slightly at this admission. He hadn't even moved up to the next level of dragons yet.

"I'm Kadryn, nice to meet another Oblivionite... seems I only meet the peaceful or friendly ones. Makes me wonder if everyone's been lying to me about how evil Oblivionites are!" She grinned as she cautiosly shook his hand.
At his admission that he'd never killed more than a Ysali, Kadryn felt she ahd to admit that she hadn't exactly hunted a Kiandri before. "Actually, I've only killed one Kiandri and that was more cause of dumb luck than anything... " She shrugged, not that it really mattered, she had a Kiandri orb! That was awesome enough, eve if she'd killed the thing on accident.
She smiled, a fellow adventurer! Eanah seemed nice, but she was very lady-like, so she probably wouldn't enjoiy climbing rocks and getting dirty as much as this fellow would!
"I saw one cave over that way that I was gonna head to and see if I found anything when I got distracted by the small dragon thingies. Want to come?" She asked, while exploreing alone was fine, having someone along would be better!

"I wouldn't say they're lying. We're just not all the same, I suppose." Kilian wasn't like most Oblivionites, he'd give her that. However, he had his own dark side. Kilian gave a half smile back and looked over at the direction that Kadryn had pointed to. "A cave, huh?" He hadn't come here to explore beyond the dragons in this area, not that he could take them on yet though. There was something very tempting about exploring a cave. He shrugged at her question. "Sure, I guess I'll go."

"Yay! I find it better to explore places with people.. plus my Da doesn't get as upset if he knows I'm with someone.. he seems to think I'm not aware of danger.." She outed a bit as she quietly left behind the strange small dragon and headed towards the cave. She really wanted to fly up to it and enjoy the wind, but Oblivionites couldn't fly, so it'd be rude...
She hopped and clambered the sloping side of the tall spire that sat brooding at the edge of the cliff. A whiles up, she could barely see the dark entrance to the cave beyond the mists that covered Ayr.
She stopped and pointed at it, "That's where I'm headed! Hopefully there's something interesting in it!" She whispered to Killian.

Kilian watched as Kadryn started climbing. She seemed to get excited about the smallest things. First the strange dragon like creatures and now this cave. Though he did have to admit to himself that he was interested in exploring said cave. He didn't get much of a chance to do exploring just for pure fun. So when he did, he enjoyed it greatly.
Kilian followed her up, being careful not to lose his footing. If he were to fall, he'd be in big trouble. It seemed like it took them forever to climb up to the cave. The air was getting thinner, the farther up they went. Finally, Kilian pulled himself up onto the ledge in front of the cave. He huffed out a breath and turned around. The view was mostly obscured by the mists but what he could see was vast. It was almost as if the land went on and on forever.

Kadryn turned around and watched the silent boy. Eanah had been quiet too.. were all Oblivionites like that? Oh well, she'd been quiet and shy too.. but fighting had given her courage so perhaps they hadn't fought enough to get rid of the shyness. She shrugged and poked Killian as he stared out over the beautiful sea of mists with islands of tall spires stretching towards the sky. Pretty, but Kadryn was currently more interested in the cave. She could look at scenery later!
"Come on! Almost there!" She whispered and grinned before scampering upwards, headless of the scratch marks and gouges on the rocks near by.

Kilian pulled away from the poke. He wouldn't say that he didn't like to be touched but it was so unexpected it threw him off guard. What was it with this Orderite. He was highly surprised she wanted anything to do with him. Most pure blooded Orderites either ran the other way or tried to take his head off whenever he met up with them.
He still didn't trust her. Not completely. However, the prospect of an adventure really had him shoving those thoughts aside. Kilian really didn't get to do too much exploring back home. Too much training. Too much family work. He let out a breath and scrambled up behind her.

Kadryn scrambled up the last few feet and paused for a moment before entering. Oblivious to the large shadow that loomed above the cave she entered and blinked her eyes at the darkness inside. The cave was very dark with deeper shadows hiding further back in the cave. There were some bones off to the side and.. well, she couldn't see too much because of the mist that seemed to get thicker the longer she looked...
"That's odd, never seen mist inside a cave before." She muttered out loud. Perhaps shed found something interesting at last?
