Arya was tired of her sister's nattering; the amusement had warn off hours ago so that the other lioness was about as entertaining as a swarm of gnats at high noon on a hot summer day. The fur along the back of her neck and shoulders was bristling with irritability and her tail flicked against her flanks with obvious, unveiled aggravation. Her yellow eyes darted back to Sansa as she opened her ridiculous trap again. "It's so hot, haven't you found someplace to rest yet? It's midday already.""I'm working on it, Sansa.""Are you? Are you really? Because it looks to me as if you're just wandering this stupid gods forsaken desert all willy nilly and its annoying. I'll bet you don't even know where you really are."The pale lioness grit her teeth on a snarl and turned her head to snap at her sister, "We're rogues, if I knew where we were we'd be home, Sansa. Point is, we're looking for a watering hole not just some random spot."Sansa narrowed her ice blue eyes with a flicker of annoyance, scratching her claws through the dirt before increasing her pace so that she could come even with Arya. "We're rogues, but that doesn't mean you can't be leading us in circles.""I'm not. No circles, gods, Sansa would you get your tail out of a tangle. We're fine. We'll find water, you'll get your beauty sleep.""And you'll get yours. Gods know you need it."Arya snarled and made to pounce her sister before the other lioness was saved by a sudden sound. Her ears twisted round and her sister sat back on her haunches to peek at the intrusion herself, suddenly distracted.

Mito wasn’t pleased to have his nap interrupted by the sounds of an argument, but he couldn’t get too upset about. After all, it wasn’t like they were fighting for the sole purpose of waking him up- why should he blame them for something that was not their intention in the first place? Accidents happened. Instead of heading their way to yell at them, he decided to see if he could help settle whatever it was they were yelling about. He wouldn’t have been Mito if he hadn’t wanted to try and create some peace. He smiled when he finally caught sight of the angry pair, his expression warm and welcoming as he approached them. Since they already seemed to have heard him, he wasn’t too worried about startling them with his sudden appearance. Thankfully, his large, round frame wasn’t entirely silent. “Hello, my friends,” he offered brightly, “my name is Mito! I hope you don’t mind me interrupting… I just heard you fighting and I wanted to see if there was something I could do to help you both out. Are you lost?”

Neither lioness had intended on interrupting some stranger's nap, and certainly not inciting any sort of confrontation, conversation or otherwise. Their reactions were opposing; Sansa looked relieved (more so by the sight of a male, but that was her natural reaction) whereas her sister looked annoyed. She did not need some strange male telling her where to go or that she was wrong about anything. She definitely didn't need anyone taking Sansa's side on anything; the female was already insufferable. Sansa was the first to speak, as she was always the first to speak to strangers. Her sister stood back and observed, Sansa enjoyed social etiquette like no other. "Hello! I'm Sansa and yes, yes we are.""No, we're not." Arya snapped at her sister, but shot the stranger an apologetic smile before peering off into the middle distance. The darker female inclined her head slightly as if also apologetic, though she did not move her eyes from the male, "That is my sister, Arya. And we're actually looking for a watering hole." She sighed, a bit too obviously, "I'm in need of a bit of a rest."

Mito offered them both the same warm smile he had offered when he had approached. He would have continued to smile and be nice even if they had tried to eat his leg off- he just wasn’t the type to get into a confrontation with anyone. It pleased him that they were willing to let him help, though one seemed just a little bit more willing than the other. “I understand,” he chuckled lightly, “being out in the sun like this, walking around, can get very tiring. Thankfully, I’m very familiar with this area, and you’re actually not too far from a watering hole. You were heading in just the right direction.” He grinned, motioning for them to follow him. “I can show you how to get to it from here, if you’d like. I don’t mean to intrude, though, if you’d rather continue to look for it on your own.”

Sansa was of the same mentality: besides her sister, she would smile no matter what tremendous terror was put to her. Social niceties demanded thus, so she accommodated them. Her eyes creased in a smile as she returned his own kindness, at last risking a scolding glance at her younger (by four minutes) sister in the hopes of corralling her into line. Arya was ever oblivious. "The sun occasionally seems to work against us," The dark female murmured in agreement, though her expression improved again at his reassurance, "Oh, are you? How fortunate! We could decidedly use a guide, I think." She shot her sister another look, withering for those who knew her best. After a few moments, Arya exhaled softly and swung her gaze from the sky, to Sansa and to Mito with a begrudging smile, "My sister could use her beauty sleep, and I could use a bit of a rest, as well, admittedly." Her smile broadened as she bumped shoulders with her sister, encouraging her to her feet. The sisters gently knocked heads, cooling their bickering for the time being. "Do you live here?" the pale female ventured, looking from under her lashes at him, "Since you know where the things are."

Mito was happy to see they weren’t still fighting, though he imagined getting lost, and being sisters, could bring out the bickering without much effort. He’d had a brother back in the day, and they had always fought with one another. It seemed sad to him, now, knowing he had spent so much time fighting with someone who left him early in life. If he had known, he would have been kinder from the start. But it had shaped who he had become, and he always had his brother to thank for that. Leading them slowly, he gave a nod to their question, always pleased for conversation. “Yes,” he told them without delay, “I do live around here. Been around these parts most of my adult life. What about you two? Just passing through, I take it, but where are you heading?” They didn’t have to share if they didn’t want to, but he had seen a lot of animals come and go on their way to prides and various other meeting grounds. Perhaps they were on a bit of a quest of their own.

Fighting was generally considered their equilibrium. If they weren't fighting, one of them was asleep, absent or preoccupied typically with a third party. Getting along had never exactly been either of their fortes, though they typically coexisted admirably with others. Sansa was the more extroverted of the two of them, and it could easily be determined that that difference along had shaped their adult personalities from cubhood. Arya nodded her head slowly as they walked, eyes trained on the dirt before her paws. "So you grow up elsewhere? You live alone?" She did not intend to pry, but her sister cut in to prevent her getting near an offense. "Passing through. We're always passing through." She did not intend to sound sad or perturbed, but she knew she did when Arya shot her a glare. She continued anyway, "We're heading no where in particular, just moving. We'll stop when something catches our interest."

Mito didn’t mind the question, smiling lightly. “Well, yes, I grew up in another part of the rogue lands, and spent a lot of time roaming around when I was younger. When I found this area, though, I knew I had found my home.” He did love this place –there was always something to do. Someone to meet. Maybe living where there were a lot of prides around had something to do with it. Funny, he lived with all these prides and he didn’t feel like he needed to join one. He was a happy rogue. For life. When Sansa spoke, he nodded. “I understand. But perhaps you’ll find something here that really catches your interest! There’s plenty of places around here you might like, and more beyond the horizon. Maybe you have to do a lot of passing through for now, but I know you’ll find a place where you can sit down and enjoy yourself. He brought them to a watering hole, presenting it with a cheesy grin. “Ta-dah!”

"Oh," Arya murmured, nodding again as she continued on her way. Her lips pressed together for a moment as she considered this information. After a few quiet steps, she offered him a half smile and lifted her head a bit, "We have been wandering our entire lives as well, after our mother died."Sansa preferred not to speak of her mother; the past was a messy, sad thing so instead she focused on the present and future. "I would like us to find a home, somewhere to settle and raise a family. Wandering is all well and good, but I would enjoy knowing where I would lay my head every night at the very least."Her sister frowned slightly, looking over at her before swiveling her attention back to Mito, "I hope we find a place as well." Her gaze moved over the watering hole, satisfied at his leading. "You're a man of your word, Mito.""It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance! I thank you for your guidance." Sansa added, maneuvering to sit at the waters edge with a happy sigh.

Mito smiled. He was more than pleased that he hadn’t gotten them lost and taken them away from the watering hole rather than towards it. It wasn’t that he was bad with directions, he just tended to forget which location was where from time to time. Perfectly normal, right? This time, however, he had gotten them there without any trouble at all. Good thing he hadn’t made an idiot of himself. “Well, I hope things work out for you,” he told them with a nod of his head, “and it was very nice meeting the both of you! If you need anything else before you go, my cave is just east of here. You can come find me and ask whatever you like.” He nodded and moved away from the two of them, letting them have their peace. It looked like they could use some time to relax and talk with one another. He didn’t want to bother them any more than he had. “Good bye, ladies, have a safe journey.” - Fin
