The day had started out normal...ish. Jason hadn't received any mission summonings, so that was good. But it had soon morphed into maximum weirdness when he just had to do his washing shirtless, and someone had walked in on him. That someone being Solia, whom he was running into a lot lately.
Which always seemed to turn into awkwardness and either of them losing some of their clothing.
He couldn't explain it either.
But at the very least, this time they were moth moderately dressed (kinda), and the death trainee had been rather impressed with his poses in front of the mirror (Sometimes he wished he could punch his weapon, but all it would do is leave him all cut up)
Right now though, he was leaning against the washing machine once more, his mind trying to think of something to talk about with Solia. He was drawing a blank.
"Today has...been very interesting." He eventually said.

Wake up, go to do laundry, discover guy you were running into a lot in various states of dress and situations posing half dressed making what could only be described as sexy poses in front of a mirror. Just another day and Desu ex Machina, Sugoi Edition. Solia had been trying very hard not to think about the fact she was attracted to the whole fact of ‘wow he’s kind of cute’ but when you walked in a guy doing that? Nothing on dating blogs told her about this. Actually they probably would have told her to confess her feelings or set boundaries or avoid him of have scream sexism in one way wait not those were the social justice blogs. Either way, Solia was red, yet not altogether upset. She couldn’t deny it. She’d been staring. He’d caught her doing it no less. Then she’d gone and commented on it and that she liked it and just- There was someone face palming for her somewhere. Maybe. Life was an anime after all. While the day had just been interesting thus far- “It’s just started really. I mean, not like it’s the worst thing.” Anddddd there was her eating part of her foot again, delicious. She needed to stop that. Israfel was chiding her even. She had no reason to be embarrassed so much. “So, hm, do you um, celebrate? Er, Christmas that is.” She nodded her head to a nearby calendar.

What Solia said was very true. For in Deus Ex it could get worse. So, so much worse.
"Oh, um, yeah, I do celebrate Christmas." He said, feeling his back cramp up so he began to stretch, then quickly stopped remembering he was in company.
"Wow, I can't believe it's already Christmas time... " He mused out loud, his gaze moving to the nearby calendar.

Yes, score. He celebrated. Otherwise it would have been- well no it would have been a good conversation, finding out a bit more about the guy that she kept running into. “Yeah, just around the corner. They’d be putting up decorations and holiday themed this or that in all the stores week ago I imagine though.” The bane of the holidays, marketing. “Almost kind of nice that I’ve only seen a few things here. Mostly holiday mugs, ties and socks.” Like magic, there was indeed, a festive sock sitting all on it’s lonesome on top of one of the machine. It’s pair doubtlessly lost. “Ah, have you spent Christmas here before? This will be my time. With the portals down and no cash- I bet it’s been driving people nuts that have done it before. It’ll be nice to try and make a few things though.” Like socks. Festive socks for everyone.

"Actually...No, I haven't celebrated Christmas here before. It will be my first time too." It came as a shock to the moon trainee that he had been here for almost a year. Almost a year ago he had been woken from his pod into this world of horror and craziness, fighting for his life almost on a daily basic, trying to conquer the constant fears that plagued him...
Jason forced his mind to focus on the more festive side of this time of year. "Hopefully they'll have them up soon, I can't imagine everyone would be happy with them being down at the moment. Though I have to wonder..." He turned to Solia with a curious look. "How does Deus Ex celebrate christmas? I mean...would we still get the Christmas tree?" It just wasn't christmas without the tree

It would be his first time too? That made Solia a little bit happier to know she’d not be the only one. Well, aside from some of the others who’d woken around the same time as her. “It’ll be nice to celebrate with everyone. I mean, hopefully better than Thanksgiving. That was just kind of… awkward. I spent most of it taking pictures…” Why? She’d been hoping for memories, but mostly she’d just gotten drama. “I think… We celebrate on our own. No one really did anything but work on Halloweeen, granted it made sense. Thanksgiving was run by that one guy… Think it’s a sort of on your own deal. If you want to you can but on your own dime? So… we’d have to get our own tree!” She smiled, looking at him before turning away with a blush. “Same with uh- gifts. Have to… give and get as we like. Um…” She wanted to know, but how to ask? “What are you hoping for? Christmas wise? If you want a tree probably have to go cut one down from the forest.”

Ahh, thanksgiving. It had completely slipped his mind. Though with what Solia was saying, perhaps it was a good thing he missed it.
"It's a shame the division leads don't want to celebrate it...although I imagine Caelius is a bit of a scrooge." Jason replied with a hint of a smirk as he thought about the logistics of cutting down their own tree. "Hmm, Maybe we could ask Rep..."
He noted Solia had turned around when she began talking about Christmas presents, and not two seconds later she had asked what he hoped for. Blinking a few times, he then spoke. "There isn't much I want for christmas, I'm pretty content with what I have."
A pause. "Is there anything you want for christmas?"

She sighed and gave a shrug of her shoulders. “I imagine they are busy with other things. Secret.. leader.. things. And yeah there might be a scrooge or two hidden in there.” She thought about making them something but then decided against it. After ‘meeting’ Caelius she wasn’t sure he’d like anything she could make. Mark- Mark would just get more Avenger cookies. Or Star Wars. Star Wars would be a bit harder. She could make Deathstar cookies. Ahaha DEATHstars. Maybe he’d get the pun. Leaning a bit more towards him, a small pout set on her lips. “You sound like me. You have what you want, so gifts don’t matter that much? But I guess I can make you a few things… will have to check your file to see what you’re allergic to.” She muttered the last part to herself. Realizing she might have seemed a bit rude saying how she’d read his file and what not. “Not that I have read your file or anything, it’s just one of those things that is open on all us trainees and I like to read about others so I just kind of… do… it.” Her blush back, she faced away from him.” “……I kind of don’t have things I want. I’m used to just.. buying things for myself when I need them, occasionally spoiling myself. Small things.” Hands began to fidget. “… I like jewelry. Nothing big but- the types of things with a bit of color and flair just bordering under too much.” Descriptive Solia was descriptive.

"I think I wouldn't want to know what the leaders are planning, since it almost always spells trouble for us" Jason sighed at the thought of them cooking up something else that was hazardous to their health.
He then appeared rather interested. "You want to make me something?" His mind flashed him a image of a smiling Solia holding up a tray of gingerbread cookies. The image was very cute. "I'm...not allergic to anything." He mumbled while his focus turned to another dryer.
At least he had a good idea of what Solia liked, although he wondered if he would be able to get something nice for her. Jewelry was always expensive, and the tiny salary he received didn't leave much money for personal usage.

Not allergic… Her blush deepened as she realized he’d heard her muttering. Why did she keep embarrassing herself around him? Oh right, because he was attractive and sweet and liked books and treated her politely and was beyond understanding and ughhhh. He was probably gay too. It would be just her luck. Sitting up on top of an unused washer, she tried to give herself a bit of height. “I like making things for people.” Her voice was slightly soft. “I used to be able to buy almost anything I wanted. So just being able to make something… was nice. It had more meaning to me than things I could get in the store.”

It's okay Solia Jason is bi he swings both ways but just wont admit it- SHUT UP ZANTHVOS
Damn, it looked like she was embarrassed again, he really didn't mean to make her feel bad. "Er...it's alright, I mean you are part of Death, it's your job to keep track of our files." He replied, feeling all the awkward and still without his shirt.
It also seemed that Solia had came from a wealthy family, judging from her admission she could buy just about whatever she wanted.
"Making something would be more special then buying something." He commented with a small smile. "You can express your feelings, show the person just what you mean to them by taking the time to create something for them."
Okay I take it back he is as gay as a rainbow

Yes, a part of death, that didn’t mean she had to sound like some creepy stalker or anything. As the washer kept going, Solia say, trying to think of what to say. Jason sounded just so nice, and augh. Why. Why did she just get flustered when it came to these things? She could handle Lex and Dakota just fine. So why did Jason get her in a tizzy? Because he’s not being overt, not stating anything, and now you can’t figure out what he means. Israfels chimed in her head. Plus it didn’t start out with casual flirtations. He’s just been trying to be civil to you. Take it for what it is. You might be misreading him. Deep breath. Solia smiled at the Siren’s words. Take it for what it was. “Exactly. When you make something, you put a bit of yourself into it. Giving a part of yourself to them. Money can’t do that.” Leaning back she looked at him. “So yeah. Give me your favorite flavor Jason. What do you want me to make you?” Pink she might have been in the face, but he was just being civil to her. He was nice and she wanted to make something nice for him.

His favorite flavor, huh? "Caramel" He answered truthfully, then stopped to think about what he would like. "Um...how about some cookies? Chocolate chip." He added, the thought of caramel chocolate chip cookies was heavenly, but he quickly added to his statement. "You don't have to make me anything though." Though if she did...
It was now Jason's turn to blush.

Caramel chocolate chip. That was easy enough to make! She was sure she could do a few favors for what she needed. “But if you don’t want me to make you anything… What do you want from me then?” She pouted slightly. He was making this complicated. Laundry beeped. Half way done already.

well, if Jason wasn't blushing before, he certainly was now. Solia's cute little pout had the moon trainee flustered beyond words. "Uh...uh, uuuhh"
"you c-can make me anything you want, it's the thought that counts" He managed to respond before the tell tale beeping of his own load finishing gave him something else to focus on.
"Oh! my load finished" He laughed nervously, turning quickly to start fishing out clothes.
