Those filthy, pathetic, insolent, idiotic, people!

Dragoona let out a snarl, her eyes narrowed as she paced along a cliff edge. Her claws dragged against the rocks, causing some of the loose rubble to tumble down the edge and fall just short of a small group of horses. They didn't seem to realize the rocks, but looked around at the noise. A sneer crossed the mares face, before she shifted, and jumped up onto a ledge, and then once more up again, letting his body pace along the edge again. How dare they refuse to give her what she wanted. How dare they refuse her. Breathing out a low snort, her breath visible in the cool night air, the mare shifted away from sight, and moved slowly forward until she could do her plotting alone.

Flicking her tail feathers, Dragoona glanced around. She had to do something to punish those idiotic beings. She trotted ahead on the path, her head held up high, before spotting some large rocks. Tilting her head, she walked around them, and peered down toward the ground below. It was right over the path. Letting her claws trail lightly against the ground, Dragoona grinned. She shifted slowly, before rearing up, and kicked hard at the rock. It took a few times, but finally it shifted, and rolled down onto the path; with it came many other rocks. Within seconds, the path was blocked. Dragoona jumped down, landing on the rocks easily. She glanced around, before looking over toward the path. Soon, they would be here. They would have to go into the woods. A smirk shifted onto her features, and Dragoona hopped down from that rock, and ran forward into the woods to wait; to plan her attack.

She would hide in the rocks. She knew that there were some high up rocks, boulders like the one she had kicked, deeper into the woods. So it would be easy to climb up them and wait. And jump down, attack as she went. As they traveled. She'd start by taking out the adults. One at a time. And then she would get the foals, and lead them to Skinwalker territory. She would make them all suffer for what they did. Shaking out her head, she ran forward into the woods, until she found the boulders. Running around back, she found a place that she could jump onto a smaller one, and from there up until she was higher off the ground. Here it was that she would wait for them to come to their demise.

And they would pay.

It hadn't come as much of a surprise when Khaa had returned from her old home with news of people being ambushed in the mountains. The only thing that really surprised her was that Wolf and the others we going to her for help. She had been in the process of recruiting a wandering eye to their cause when word reached her. She had considered just sending instructions back to her friends on how to proceed but changed her mind. She was close enough that she could help them directly this time. They were her friends after all and if they thought it was too much to handle alone then she would just have to show them how it's done. In the future they would be able to follow her lead and handle these things alone. It was a simple matter of recruiting the right people for the right job.

Since she was going to have to teach her friends she had decided that it wouldn't hurt to bring her new recruit, Zamyr, along for the lesson. Together they had made their way swiftly back to the cave that had been Lorenna's home and collected Wolf and Lamb before heading off into the mountains. Wolf and Lamb didn't look like much, they were only half unicorns, but they were both skilled fighters even without natural weaponry. She could use them both along with Zamyr's claws and wings.

------------------------------

Lorenna led their little group down the winding mountain trail ignoring the bitter chill in the air as best as she could. She wasn't used to being in the mountains. Glancing at her allies she was relieved to find that at least she wasn't the only one. Zamyr, a desert native, had all of his feathers fluffed out against the cold and he was shivering lightly. The cold of a desert night was nothing like the cold night on a mountain side. She snorted lightly in laughter and turned back to the task at hand, they needed to find the culprit behind these attacks. As she was about to ask if the others had seen any suspicious signs when a rumbling like thunder reached her ears. She glanced at the sky to check for clouds but Wolf was already on top of things.

"Rock slide." She suggested facing the direction of the sound. Her eyes flicked to her father, Lamb, and they both nodded without any further exchange of words. In perfect sync the two headed off in the direction of the disturbance. Lorenna opened her mouth to ask if that was unnatural in someway when she was cut off once again.

"There hasn't been any bad weather lately," Zamyr chirped following after the half-unis. "For a rock slide to occur now something else had to have caused it. Come along, then!" Lorenna was beginning to wonder why she had been called in at all. Zamyr had been brought in by her, yes, but Wolf and Lamb seemed to have absolutely everything under control. Lorenna followed after her perfectly-capable-on-their-own team and only stopped when Wolf and Lamb suddenly froze.

"What is it?" Lorenna questioned creeping forward.

"Something's here." Wolf replied scanning the area closely with her father doing the same. Lorenna knew better than to doubt Wolf's observational skills and started looking around for whatever had caught Wolf's attention.

Dragoona grinned. She could hear the voices. Her head swiveled, watching in a sort of impatience. It wasn't until she saw the figures that she frowned. Who were they? That wasn't the group she hunted. Why were they interfering with her plans? The hippogryph growled lowly in her throat. How dare they do such a thing. She shook her had, pacing once more on the rocks, jumping from one to another as she did so. Well, if they wanted to take part in this game, she would let them. She jumped to another boulder, one that was higher up, the movement causing some loose rubble to shift and roll toward the ground.

She counted four. Two that were leading the group, and two from behind. Tilting her head to the side, she observed them for a few moments, before frowning. Letting her tail flick once more, the creature let out a small call, like a falcon's cry. She was furious. In her rage, she wasn't sure what exactly she would do. But it was driving her nuts that these creatures were interfering with her plans. Dropping down from the boulders, she paced a little while off, before moving forward, toward them, her head held high.

"What are you doing out here?" She stated, her eyes narrowing into thin slits.

Sure enough, Wolf had been correct, there was something here. Judging by the creatures aggressive disposition Lorenna was willing to bet that this was the source of the trouble that she had been brought in to deal with. It was a heavy set mare and judging by the claws and feathers she was of Zamyr's kind. Lorenna glanced at him in a silent question, 'do you know her?' Zamyr shook his head. Very predictably the mare was demanding to know what had brought them out and about as if she owned the mountain.

Without missing a beat Lorenna replied casually, "We're out for a walk. We heard some rumors and decided they warranted an investigation. What about yourself? Are you out here playing detective too or are you up to something less savory?" Lorenna's pale eyes locked onto the draft mare's. Lorenna was small, very small, but that didn't stop her from trying to intimidate others into backing down. Having back up helped with this.

Wolf and Lamb took fighting stances on Lorenna's flank preferring to be ready for anything that might get tossed their way. Zamyr saw this and scratched at the ground with a claw. He had agreed to help Lorenna because he believed in helping people, he didn't like how quickly they seemed to get ready for a fight when there was always a chance to simply reason with people. Zamyr looked between Lorenna and the other quickly, at least she wasn't just launching an attack yet. Maybe it wouldn't come to blows if they were lucky.

The Hippogryph blinked, her head cocking to the side curiously. Bright eyes lingered on the one that spoke. She was small, an easy target, honestly. Dragoona was quick, and strong, as well as taller than most mares that she met. She blew air from her nostrils in a snort, ears flicking up as the mare spoke. Really? Was she really thinking that Dragoona was there for any other reason other than bloodshed? The dark mare let out a sort of laugh, before shaking out her mane and feathers. If that was the case, than this mare was up for a crude surprise.

Pacing lightly back and forth, she stared toward the group. Honestly, her main concern was the other Hippogryph. He had claws, as she did. And claws were easy to rip into flesh. And with his wings, it would be easy for that stallion to over come her. The other two, the Unicorns, would be easy to take care of so long as she watched what she was doing, and did it strategically. Staring with curious eyes, the mare lowered her head somewhat to stare at the Flutter straight in the eye, without having to look down. She tilted her head slowly to the side, before growling lowly, the noise coming off as a sort of warning. "You expect me to answer to you? Come now, small one, I answer to no creature." She stated, her voice practically dropping with venom.

Without thinking another second, Dragoona charged, her claws barely touching the ground. She reared up toward the Flutter, aiming to slash down at her with pointed claws.

User ImageConleth was patrolling the area. Not really guarding it, more so scouting ahead. He had to ensure that the roads that were ahead of him would be right for him and Pryalis. She had gotten injured a few days back; sprained ankle. And he wasn't going to allow her to charge ahead and possibly get injured in the process. Shaking out his short mane at the thought, the Cerynei perked his ears up as he tried to listen to the sounds around him. He breathed out a sigh, before moving forward again, cautious and careful. The stallion lowered his head for a moment, nipping at some of the grass, before lifting his head and stared toward the North, his eyes locked.

Something was happened.

At first he heard the rock slide. It was loud, and shook the earth under his hooves. Lowering his head some, he started forward cautiously. The next noise he heard sounded somewhat like a bird. His own owl, Marco, let out a loud screech in response, before flying down and landing on Conleth's back, feathers ruffled. The stallion turned his head, staring toward the bird, before whispering him to go ahead, and find out what was going on. Cocking his head once more, Marco let out a soft noise, before flapping his wings, and taking off in the direction of the noises. Conleth followed, cautiously and slowly. It wasn't until the large blue owl returned that he figured out what was going on. The owl brought back a purple colored feather. It appeared to be dirty, and somewhat ruffled. Curiously peering around a tree, the stallion stared. What was going on?

He saw the small group, mostly females, it appeared. Four to one? The odds were in their favor, of course. But the dark colored Hippogryph seemed to have a blood raged look in her eyes. Conleth knew that look well, from the fact that he had seen it countless times while he was in his prior herd. Shaking out his mane, the stallion crept again, before he saw the female moving. His eyes darted, and before he could stop himself, he moved forward, surging with all his might. He slammed his body against the dark Hippogryph's side, making her loose her momentum and stumble slightly to the side, before correcting herself and backing away from the group. Conleth snorted out a growl, his head held high, eyes narrowed some.

If there was one thing he had gained in that herd, it was a protection of females; particularly ones that didn't seem to have the fighting genes. "Sorry to interrupt." He stated, sending a somewhat cocky grin toward the Flutter, before letting his eyes lock on the Hippogryph again. Let's see her attack now.

If the mare had not been charging at them like a wild boar Zamyr might have taken a moment to tell Lorenna that Wolf and Lamb were right to be on guard already. Unfortunately, as things were, the mare was charging and it was looking more and more like Lorenna was about to be gored. Lorenna herself was preparing to do what all flutters should do when faced with a fight: shrink, when a large orange blur rushed in knocking the hippogryph to the side. Lorenna and Zamyr blinked, Wolf and Lamb exchanged looks, and the four of them were all wondering what had just happened.

Lorenna was the first to come back to her senses as the stallion seemed to be speaking to her. "Believe me," She said coming to the conclusion that they had an unexpected ally now. "This is the kind of interruption that is always appreciated." Lorenna took in a deep breath to steady her thoughts before focusing on the mare. This wasn't the time for socializing with their new assistant, that could wait until later.

"I believe you will find that you will answer to me." She told the mare with nothing but strict authority in her voice. "And you will be answering for your crimes. I am certain you know of what I speak." Lorenna looked over her shoulders to her companions to make sure that they were paying attention. They all seemed completely focused once again. Zamyr took this as a cue to join her little speech.

"You have a choice, either stop this on your own or we will have to make you." There was nothing but concern and sympathy in Zamyr's eyes. Everyone deserved a chance to do what was right but he knew they often made the wrong choices in the end. He could forgive her attack if she would cease her ways. Lorenna looked at Zamyr but didn't roll her eyes or shake her head. If he wanted to try to solve things peacefully first that was fine so long as he was willing to take other measures if they were needed.

Dragoona wasn't expecting a fifth member. At the feel of a large body hitting her own, the mare fell off kilter. She shifted, taking the blow as best as she could, before falling to the side. Moving with a slight grace, she shifted her body, doing a slight turn until she did a three sixty, and faced the group once more. The mare let out a screeching noise toward them, her eyes narrowed dangerously. What was she going to do now that this had happened? A fifth. And he was bigger... Not only did she now have to worry about the Hippogryph, but the Cerynei had horns, and he seemed tough. She snorted some, before shaking out her feathers, eyes narrowed toward the group.

Be peaceful? She coudl laugh at the thought. Dragoona didn't care for any of that. She didn't care for friendship and joy and laughter. No, she was highly irritated at the fact that she hadn't gotten what she wanted. Snorting lightly once more, Dragoona paced slightly before she paused and stared at them with hard eyes. She breathed out a deep breath, while trying to calm herself down. How dare they.

How. Dare. They.

"You honestly believe that I will stop? Stop with what I wish to do? You all must be daft." She snorted, staring at whom seemed to be the leader of the group. "And you, you think I will answer to you in any way, shape or form? You must be one of the most idiotic mares in the world." She stated with a low snort.

Conleth snorted back toward the Hippogryph. His eyes narrowed toward her, before she glanced toward the Flutter. Tilting his head some, he inclined it a bit to inform her that he had heard her. Letting her eyes glance back toward the aggressive mare, Conleth stared. She seemed very up in arms. He breathed out a low growl, before backing up to stand along side the Flutter. He would save introductions later, for when the danger was over. His tail flicked slightly, before he held his head up higher, peering toward the mare with concerned, confused eyes.

"Introductions later..." Conleth said, his voice barely above a whisper. He watched the mare, looking for any sign of an attack. Within a couple seconds, he glanced toward the group that he was aiding. The first was a Flutter, with a small hat. She seemed to be in charge of the group; leading them in a more... mannered way. The two Uni's at her sides had to be related; as a father himself, he could tell that there was some relation between them. Though he would ask later as to what it was. The fourth seemed to be standing farther behind, and seemed to be more... peaceful. Conleth hadn't seen a creature like these two; clawed and one had wings. The feathers were throwing him off too. Shaking out his mane, Conleth sighed, before lifting his eyes.

"Are you certain that you wish to deny the peaceful rout? It... seems like a bad choice." Conleth stated, his eyes locked on the mare, waiting to see what she would do next.

While Lorenna approved of the mare's choice in words she could not approve of her actions. It was a shame, the draft mare seemed so intelligent, so then why was she acting like such a fool? She was clearly out numbered and out matched yet she still clung to pride. Lorenna shook her head, it seemed that their opponent thought that they were the fools, especially her. It was an interesting thought but she couldn't have been more wrong.

"I'm afraid you are mistaken. I am far from 'idiotic.'" She looked to Zamyr to see if he wished to try to reason further as the orange cerynei was doing. Zamyr simply shrugged his wings and shook his head. He had tried what he could but it didn't seem that reason would pierce the mare's head with just words. "Unfortunately, this brings us to the third step in this process. I ask you all to remember these steps for future incidents when I might not be hear to remind you. The first; locate the source of the trouble. The second; take peaceful measures to remove the trouble without undue force. The third," She looked to Wolf and Lamb and gave them a curt nod, their signal to move. "Use force to remove the threat."

As Lorenna rattled off the final step Wolf and Lamb moved in perfect unison to get on either side of the draft mare. They were well practiced in taking down threats as a unit and this was no different than any training exercise for them. Lorenna turned to the stranger in their party and offered him a polite smile, "I appreciate your assistance in this matter. If you care to help us cage this rotten bird then please stay aware of what my team is doing." It wasn't that Lorenna wished to patronize the stallion who had burst in to the rescue earlier, it was just that group battles got sloppy quickly and she didn't want to worry about accidents between team members.

Zamyr sighed as he watched the half-unicorns move, readying themselves for an attack. He didn't really want to do this but he could not just sit by when innocent people were getting hurt. He didn't need a signal from Lorenna, Zamyr had no position to get into, instead he simply prepared himself to charge in if his assistance was needed.

The dark colored mare glared. She flicked her ears, her tail feathers shifting lightly. She dug her claws into the earth beneath her. This was just growing even more and more irritating. She could feel the anger swelling into her. Dragoona wasn't one to deal with anger well. She generally handled it in a manner that dealt with blood. But she was smart; and she knew she was outnumbered here. She couldn't just jump forward and slash at the mare, she couldn't attack the girl before her without thinking it through. She didn't like this. She didn't like being outnumbered. She didn't like being told she had to stop. And she definitely didn't like the fact that this mare thought she could control her.

Pacing slightly, Dragoona let her eyes linger lightly on the mares features. She could take the mare alone. She could probably take the mare and the two Uni's. But with the Hippogryph, and the large Cerynei, she wasn't sure. She sighed, eyes narrowing slightly, before she turned to face her once more. She stared for a few seconds, letting her tail flick a bit, before she moved forward and stood closer to them, though enough to have a good distant. Her eyes narrowed toward Lorenna. She hated the flutter already. "Force?" She snorted, eyes flickering, before looking over toward the two Uni's that were now moving toward her. The mare let out an almost screeching growl, ear ears pinning, eyes narrowed. "You think that these two could take me? That you can destroy me?" Dragoona snapped, her claws flexing against the earth.

If they wanted to fight, she would fight them. She refused to back down. Tilting her head, she glared at first Wolf, and them Lamb. She was a tall mare, and despite her somewhat elegant frame and markings, she was also very strong. She had been fighting since she was a filly. She tilted some, before glaring toward the mare once more, staring at her with dark eyes. "If you want to fight me, you are going to leave with some pretty little scars, flutter." She said, glaring at her with darkening eyes.

Conleth's ears snapped up, eyes focused on the mare before them. His tail flicked slightly, eyes narrowed a bit, before he shifted some and stood slightly closer to Lorenna. Despite how he felt, and the danger, the stallion felt protective. He always had felt protective of anything that was smaller than him; and didn't seem to fight. He shifted a bit, before letting his eyes flicker down toward the flutter. She seemed to know what they were doing, but at the same time, Conleth wasn't sure what was going on. He tilted his head, ears flicking toward the mare, before he shifted, pacing slightly, before he stopped, letting his eyes linger on the Uni's that were moving quietly toward the female hippogryph.

The Cerynei shifted, letting his eyes flicker to look toward Zamyr, staring for a few seconds. He had no other means to speak? They could possibly kill this mare... And though Conleth was a fighter at heart, his mate, Pyralis, had soothed his heart some. He hadn't felt the need to just go out and beat something to death. Instead, he had found that trying to talk to people would work at times. His head tilting to the side, Conleth glanced down toward the flutter as she spoke. He stared for a few quiet seconds, before letting his eyes linger toward the mare again. She didn't seem to get it... And as irritating as it was, he silently hoped that she would get her beating, and then leave with no fight toward them. The orange colored stallion took a small step forward, his head held high. He would, if anything, ensure that the flutter didn't get harmed. It was in his nature, and he wasn't going to allow it to stop him.

"Don't worry." Conleth stated, before looking forward, toward Dragoona. "I'll make sure not to hurt your friends." The stallion smirked, a small laugh coming out of his throat, before he moved forward some, standing almost before her, in front of her. Like a wall blocking Dragoona from getting toward the flutter. Despite how strong in words the flutter was, Conleth didn't like to see females harmed ( at least not the good females ). So he would stand there, and if he needed to, he would fight the mare off.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2013 8:28 am

Lorenna smiled at the cerynei stallion although he could not see her. She hadn't even explained everything to him yet and he was willing to defend her. It seemed all he needed to know was that the half-gryph was dangerous. She would make sure to explain everything to him after they had handled the trouble. There was no point in idly chattering when someone could get hurt. "Thank you." She said to the stallion before redirecting her attention to Dragoona.

"I have complete faith that they can handle you and don't you worry I'm more of a director or teacher than a fighter." Lorenna knew her limitations and strengths well enough to not throw herself into the midst of battle. She was much better suited at strategy and guiding than attempting to attack and largely just getting in the way. "Try not to kill her, just subdue her." She said before taking several steps back to get well out of the way. If there was going to be a fight she wasn't going to be tripping them up and she could get a better picture from further away.

Wolf and Lamb took Lorenna's words and movement as the signal and at the same moment they surged towards the mare to ram her and pin her between them. Zamyr pawed at the ground anxiously not enjoying the tension of a fight at all.

Dragoona frowned, her eyes narrowed dangerously. She let out a small growl as she shifted back half a pace. What was this? Kill her? Rage entered Dragoona’s eyes before she let out a half screech at the mare, her chest heaving from drawn breath. They couldn’t possibly think to take her down. She clenched her claws, eyes darkening. ”You think that you can subdue me? Keep me from having a free will?! You must be daft!” The Hippogryph grew more and more angry. She was getting even more angry; to the point that she was going into a blind rage.

Shifting, the mare surged up, rearing up into the air, her legs kicking, claws extended. She screeched again toward them, backing up, eyes locking between the two that were moving toward her. She locked her gaze on the orange one for a few quiet moments, before letting her eyes flicker back to the mare that she couldn’t quite see any more. That Flutter was now on her hit list; and if it came to one thing that she’d be able to do before she died, it was at least to leave a pretty little scar on that mare’s face.

Then she saw it. The movement at the corner of her eyes. She looked to the left, and then the right. Glaring at the two, she backed up a few paces, trying to dodge them; but felt the two clip her shoulder and chest. She winced at the sudden pain, before narrowing her gaze and slashed her claws out toward the two creatures, eyes angry. How dare they hurt her!
