The sound of breaking branches cut into the air, followed by a quick thud as whatever was falling finally hit the ground. For a long while, Prisca stayed where she had landed, the remains of her fall scattered around her in the forms of branches, leaves, and pine cones. Though she was in pain, she refused to whimper. Not like some weak mare who needed some stranger touching her all over to check her vital signs.

As helpful as that would be.

Even her hair ached. The long double toned braid was caught around a low hanging branch. It had pulled upon the landing, causing the throb the Acturus now felt in her head. Opening her eyes against it, Prisca moved her legs to under her stomach, pushing upwards to get her unsteadily to her feet. She swayed, but remained upright. She would have fallen completely if not for the tree helping break her fall by allowing her to lean against it. She looked upwards. There was nothing there for a grazer such as herself to fall out of. Now that she was up, her attention was leaning towards the 'how' of the problem.

Yes, indeed. How did a grazer such as herself get down here. Were there huge birds here that had carried her? That was the only thing that made sense. She was sure she couldn't climb. She knew she couldn't fly. And there were no cliffs in sight. So how...

The mare suddenly cringed, feeling clearly how all that thinking was making her head hurt more. Best to just rest a bit. Then she could solve her problem.

User ImageA star fell the dragon could hear the breaking of his precious trees from a great distance away, nothing escaped him in his woods, it was his task to protect the woods magnificence and to allow them to flourish. he would have to take care of the crippled trees now. The dragon too felt the impact with the ground the shock wave spread through the woods, surely that black wasn't anywhere nearby causing trouble. That foul beast of a mare always got acid everywhere.

The gold began moving toward the crater, surely the star that had just fallen would need some sort of assistance, he had seen it many time in his long life here, and he would be inclined to help it was built into his very nature, he was a goodly dragon regardless of taking a mostly neutral stance to care for the high forest.

Much to his surprise it was a very dainty Arcturus mare whom had fallen into his wood. How funny, He'd known reds to take maidens from their castles and ransom them only to increase their hoards of treasure and now it looked like one such mare had found her way to him. Gildenfire couldn't help but chuckle inwardly to himself he flicked his thick tail back and forth comfortably.

"Fair maiden, are you alright?" he called approaching yet keeping a respectable distance he did to most despite his demeanor look intimidating. "May I help you get your bearings?"

The mare had her eyes closed long before the approach of the stallion. She found the sun harmful on her eyes, cutting into her head and making it throb worse than before. She must have hit it on a branch on the way down, judging by the scatter of leaves and branches all around her. That posed the questions once more of how she got here and how high up she had been. Somehow, she couldn't be afraid of the potential of a giant bird. Must mean that wasn't the cause.

Her ear stayed turned towards the hoof falls of the other, her body not making a move forward or away from it. Going off the fact the creature was walking meant to her there was little threat in it. A threat wouldn't be so calm. A threat would come storming to wonder what she was doing here or why she had interrupted whatever she had interrupted by so selfishly falling from the sky.

When the voice spoke, Prisca didn't answer or even look at him for a few minutes. Not just out of spite of breaking up her silence, but to also get her head to stop spinning a little.

Why wasn't he just leaving and taking the hint?

With a sigh, the mare opened her eyes finally, resting her purple orbs on this stranger. The first thing to come to her mind was how shiny he looked, like he was glowing in the light of the sun. It was pleasing to her eyes, one who loved jewelry and gemstones. This she knew about herself. She was finding as time passed and her head got better, the only thing foggy was her past.

But regardless of how she felt about his unique coat, she was no more easy to deal with than with anyone else.

She looked at him like he had asked if the sky was blue. "Who wants to know? I don't need strange stallions touching me."

He didn't move as the gathered her bearing it was not in his nature to leave any creature in distress no mater who or what they are with the exception of the chromatic dragons those he would gladly wish ill fates for vile creatures they were greedy and uneducated, ruffians.the very thought of them was almost enough to anger the gold however in the presence of another he did his best to keep his composure.

"I will not touch you lady," the dragon assured before answering her question "I have many names lady however most call me Gildenfire." it was the easiest to say of his many names and titles and he found most were unable to say his true name and the others far to long for most stars.

A colorful songbird came fluttering down from a nearby tree, the dragon expanded his wings to give the bird a perch as a few more of different colors, sizes and kinds came and landed on them. The dragon turned his attention to the birds before softening his deep is voice as not to startle the creatures "I shall find you all knew nests rest assured little ones." The birds seemingly able to understand flew back into the trees as Gildenfire expanded and closed his wings again at his side.

"Many Pardons Fair Lady," he apologized for the distraction "May I ask your name and welcome you to my home the High Forest."

Prisca stared openly at this Gildenfire, not at all sure what to make of his behavior. With most if she had spoken to them like that they would have let their displeasure know easily. Despite her beauty, the white lady wasn't so easily to get along with. At least, that's what her failing memory was telling her. Why was it the only thing she could seem to remember was how difficult she was towards others? She didn't even know why she was so cold. What had happened in the foggy past to make her so bitter?

It hurt her head to think about and it annoyed her not to know. It could be the not knowing was all the matter with her.

At least the dragon had class. That she was grateful for. The last thing she needed with her memories a jumble was to find herself in the domain of a more hostile creature.

"Will you? That is good." Walking away, Prisca let her tail drag on the ground, knowing there to be mostly just grass and flowers under her hooves. This was his forest? Interesting. He was fortunate the Star who fell in his forest wasn't one to ruin natural beauty on purpose. She certainly couldn't be blamed for what damage she had just done. She even avoided stepping on the most beautiful of the flowers below her.

She stopped some ways from the dragon, her violet eyes shifting back to his brilliant golden glow.

"Prisca. I remember that much, anyway. What kind of a Lord of the High Forest are you? Should I continue walking down this path I've started?"

The dragon gave the maiden one more nod of assurance, he would not touch her. Gildenfire certainly didn't blame her for the damaged that had been caused, it was an object of circumstance it was not lost on him she was carefully avoiding the flowers that had survived her fall..

"I am no more lord of this forest than the other creatures that live here, I am it's protector." though ever since he had begun protecting this forest it had put him at odds with some of his kin unfortunately despite still following Lareth a true gold he would always end up in a long philosophical debate with, he was Gildenfire's friend and king, Gildenfire shifted his wings causing the birds that were on it to fly back into the trees.

"A pleasure, Lady Prisca," Gildenfire pondered her question for a moment, she seemed to have lost her memories "What say your heart Lady Prisca? No one will lay a hoof, wing, horn or tail on you wile you reside here, but perhaps until your memory returns and you become accustomed to the land again you may rest here in these woods." the dragon folded his wings against his side an interesting site considering their odd fan like construction. it was up to her whether she trusted him or not, and if not there was nothing he could do, he would not force anything upon anyone.

The mare ignored the dragon for the moment, moving further away from him, purple eyes surveying the forest around her. Strange world, this. Though she had no memory of any worlds outside her 30 minutes in this forest, it still struck her as strange. She was unsure why. The fact of it bothered her. There was something important she needed to remember. Nothing she looked at sparked her memory. About anything. It was quite frustrating!

Stomping her hoof in irritation at it all, she turned her head back around to gaze at Gildenfire's golden form.

"My heart? It says I'm missing something." Like unfinished business, it felt like. Before she had fallen and lost her memory, she must have been in the process of doing something she never got the chance to finish. Like some important task.

Turning her head back around, she watched the birds in the distance while keeping an ear pinned back to the stallion.

"I wish not to travel the land while not knowing anything. Someone could be out there looking for me. I thank you for the invitation."

Gildenfire listened to Prisca as she vented some of her frustration. He had no intention of getting into the mare's personal space as he'd promised not to touch her. She didn't want any time of consolation, she seemed quite fragile for a Arcturus however he was getting the feeling she was much stronger than she appeared. His offer still stood.

She'd seem to have accepted, Gildenfire gave the mare an approving nod a wise choice indeed for more than one reason. "If there is someone looking it would be best to stay in one place Lady Prisca." he hoped this one who was obviously important would find her one day. But for now he had another to keep hi company, how many years had it been since the last? he wondered silently.

"I, or one of the animals to show you around If you'd like." though he expected her to decline his offer she may prefer to explore his forest alone. "My home is within the mountain." he motioned to the ridge that was on one edge of the forest furthest from the swamp on the other edge.
