The morning was quiet with the sun not even up yet and the birds still asleep. There was one lioness who was not asleep though and she was on the move. Mavi was out extremely early in the rogue lands or more like she was out very late as she had been out all night gathering herbs to store to make medicines with.
She prefered to go out for long periods and gather a lot of herbs to store so she only had to go out to the rogue lands once every other month. It was her style and she enjoyed these outings. She got to see different landscapes than what she was used to and she met different rogues whom had she just done a short trip she may have not met before.
At the moment she was heading back home. Her pouch was as full as she could manage it without spilling some of the herbs she had gathered. She was pleased with her haul this time and she hoped this one would last a bit longer for her than the last one did.

It was still officially night and while there were nights that Rahisi liked to prowl tonight he just wasn't feeling it. He had been curled up in a small thicket since the moon had hit the highest point in the sky that it could. He was traveling alone again. He had decided after a bit of traveling with Lilavita and her two male companions to take his leave.
He hadn't felt comfortable among them after they had begun to travel. It just wasn't a match for him so he had take his leave and taken off in a direction away from them but not back in the direction they had just come. So now he was alone and asleep in a thicket dreaming of a random adventure that had little to no detail to it.

Mavi's navigational skills were excellent and she knew just what direction she needed to go. Coming up ahead of her was a thicket that she had passed through earlier in the night just after the sun had gone down. She remember a little path going through it that was easiest to navigate so she took the said path.
Little did she know that there was someone now occupying that path with part of their body. The thick brush that gave the thicket it's name made it extremely dark on the path. So much so that Mavi couldn't see Rahisi's rear end sticking out onto the path. She didn't see him at all and as she walked up she tripped over his rear end and went face first into the dirt.

Rahisi was jolted awake when he felt something hit him and heard a loud thud and rustle of the bushes around him. He lifted his head and looked around in alarm. He couldn't see a thing but he could hear just fine and what he heard suprised him. It was a female voice and she was cursing up a storm just a few feet from him.
"Miss?" He called to her. "Are you ok?"

Mavi was cursing up a storm and angry as all get out. She just knew she had lost some of her herbs and she didn't want to have to wait around to find them again. She was sure she had just tripped over a large root that was until she heard a voice come from out of the darkness asking if she was ok.
"Um... Yes I'm fine." She replied and slowly she inched her way back towards the voice until she was able to touch the individuals body. "Did I trip over you? I'm very sorry if I did. I can't see anything in here."

Rahisi’s skin twitched under the females touch. He hadn’t realized just how dark it was in the thicket until now. He couldn’t see her at all but he could slightly see his own paws. She had to be dark in color or something for him to not be able to make out any part of her at all.
“I think you may have. I was asleep and I didn’t hear you approach.”

Mavi sat down next to the male. Her eyes were able to make out his bright fur ok but the details were not so easy. His comment about being asleep threw her off a bit. Why was he sleeping in here? This wasn’t a place she would really want to bed down in during the night.
“Why were you sleeping in here?” She asked him. “It’s not really a very secure area.”

Rahisi was surprised by the females question. This was the most secure place there was around. How could she say it wasn’t secure. As he pondered why she would ask such a question a thought came to his mind.
“Why are you traveling through this thicket at this time of night?” He retorted to her question.

Mavi wasn’t surprised by the males question and was quick to answer him. “I’m heading home to my pride. I’ve been out gathering herbs the entire last day and night to use to make medicines.” She told him truthfully. There had been plenty of times before that she had run into other lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas and wild dogs. However she had never seen a lion bed down in such a thicket before. In a way she really didn’t want to leave him here.

Hearing her reply Rahisi perked his ears up in curiousity. "You're from a pride?" He asked and continued without waiting for an answer. "So if you're gathering plants are you a healer or something?" He was so curious about prides that was what had drawn him to travel with Lila and her group. They had been heading to a pride of music and dancing but after a while he grew tired of traveling with them. They really didn't seem to know what direction they needed to go or at least that's what he thought anyway. He was just a bit too impatient for the long trip.

Mavi was surprised by the sound of interest in the males voice. Most she met in the rogue lands really didn't care that she'd come from a pride. Usually they tried their best to make the meeting short the moment they found out where she'd come from. "Yeah I'm from a pride and yes I am a healer. Are you interested in a pride? We always need more members in our midst. Some don't have a taste for our culture though." She explained to him so he would know just what he would be going to if he chose to come.
"You see we race cheetah's as a sport. The cheetah's enjoy it just as much as the rest of the members of the pride do. We strive to have the fastest cheetah's in our pride and none are mistreated or forced to do anything. In fact I specialize in the health of the cheetahs who race and if they aren't healthy then I don't allow them to race."

Rahisi listened to the female speak of her pride and was quickly intrigued. "It sounds like an interesting pride." He commented. "I have been interested in prides for a while but I haven't found one that really struck my interest." He really hadn't in a way found any pride that caught his eye. Either the traditions of the pride were not his fancy or members of the pride had thrown him off from wanting to join.
He was certainly intrigued by the decription of the females pride. He had never seen anyone use cheetah's to race. Sure they were fast but the idea of racing them had never come to mind. "I would be interested in seeing your pride for myself." He told her as he stood up and stretched his muscles.

Mavi couldn't believe her ears this male actually wanted to go and see her pride. This was a very first for her. She had never found anyone that was actually interested in the pride while she was out. She tried to keep her excitement contained but it was a bit difficult. Luckily in the darkness the male couldn't see her all that well so keeping a level voice she was able to reply calmly and not give her excitement away.
"I would be happy to show you." She told him. "We're actually not too far. If we make our way now we should get there a little after the sun comes up." She told him and then with a great big grin she led the way out of the thicket and started home with her new companion in tow.
