The scene was downright hysterical, if anyone happened to catch it.
Lament all but bolted from Taj's door and down the hall, apparently hoping no one would be around to see him - even less so his mother. He had neglected to tell her of his return, for one. He was... clearly wounded, as the bandage on his hands were quick to let show.
The current wound of worry, however, was perhaps one of pride. He was still somewhat red in the face, though he was hoping it was not the case - flustered and having all but forgotten about his veil on the way out.
He could swear he could still feel the taste of Mystery's lips on his.
Was it wrong that he... had liked it ? Had he liked it ? Lament was not even sure of this much. Going to his mother would either see a very amused Music, or he would inadvertently help pry open wounds that had not quite closed just yet. And try as it might... There was only one other he could think of that might help him figure this out.
He reached for the door he knew was Love's, and knocked - looking much more the part of the awkward, confused teenager than he usually did.

Rio had, as usual, rather last track of time, something he often did on both a small and large scale. He had, probably unsurprisingly, spent quite a lot of time in Terre de Ange with Leo - something further complicated by the perpetual weirdness of word-travel and passage of time. What it had boiled down to, ultimately, was that he had missed his daughter's birthday. So much for those grandiose party plans. He'd pretty much bailed on them, albeit unintentionally. And Adi being Adi, and oblivious to said plans, was perfectly accepting and forgiving.
That made him feel even worse. Solution? Attempt to plan new party. Acquire absurd amount of presents. He knew he didn't need to, but he needed to. That didn't make any sense, but that was how it was, and that was why he was coming back from the market with an armload of boxes he could barely see over. He could see enough to see a purple-haired teenager in front of his door, though.
"Kios!" he exclaimed with a grin, not that it was visible. "Could you open that for me, if you don't mind?"

...This was not quite what Lament had in mind, not really. As the sound of Rio's voice beside him, the poor boy had nearly bolted on the spot - but then, after he calmed down, he peered to the side in some attempt to look at Love. "Where did you get all that ?"
Akakios would do as asked, though - the door was opened and he stepped aside to let Rio walk inside. "Did you want me to take some of that ?"

"Thanks! Oh, just took a little a trip to the market," Rio answered cheerfully, shuffling slowly through the opened door. "Nope, should be fine! I'll just set them down."
The god did so carefully, setting the stack of boxes of various sizes down just inside the door. The new, unobscured view of the god revealed that he was going about in his human guise today. "Now! What can I do for you? If you're looking for Adi, though, she's not here."

Oh, right. He'd come for...
Really. He had been so willing to latch on that few seconds distraction. "Um." Not a nice start.
"Im not looking for Adi. I was looking for you, actually." Why the hell was he doing this, again ? Oh, right. Because this thing was confusing as all hell.
"I. Um." Was he actually already blushing ?! Uuuuugh. "h-had a question."

Oh, well then. He could tell by the hesitation, stuttering, and blushing, that this was going to be interesting. A (more or less) teenage god who hadn't been a teenager for very long - and who had become one quite suddenly like that - had come to ask Love a question. One he apparently found embarrassing to ask.
It didn't take a genius to see where this was going, and it was definitely going to be interesting. And adorable. And possibly somewhat amusing. Aww, kids! They were always so cute when they started to discover the things their parents would usually rather they not. But, cute or not, Rio was both pleased and honored that the young god would come to him.
Love smiled warmly and shut the door. "I'm always happy to answer questions. Please, why don't you make yourself comfortable?" He gestured towards the sitting room. "Would you like something to drink? Or a snack, maybe?"

Rio's little knowing smile did not help at all.
"Uh... Sure..." This might be a very, very long conversation, from the looks of it. If only because Lament looked like a goldfish that had jumped out of his water bowl. He would sit and settle, though, and wait for Rio to return.
...All the while pondering if running off might not be less awkward.

If Rio had come back to find an empty sitting room, he would have been very sad. When he did return - to a not-empty sitting room - he carried a tray laden with an assortment of sweets and a few drink options: water, tea, and even wine. What Echo didn't know couldn't get him in trouble. Or that was the theory, anyway.
He set it down gingerly and took a seat opposite Kios, indicating, "Take whatever you want. Now, what brings you to see me?"

Oh, if Rio only knew. He certainly was not the first to try to slide alchool to Lament, though not much would come out of it, even if he had reached for it rather than the tea.
"Um." It would take the poor boy a little longer to actually figure out how to do word this. "...How do you know if you love someone or not ?"
Ack.

Okay, so that was one of the harder questions to answer. Point to Kios. Since the younger god apparently wasn't interested in it, Rio took the wine and had a sip. "That...is complicated, which is probably not what you wanted to hear, but it's different for everyone. I assume you think you might be?"

At Rio's first words, Lament frowned. Well, yes. He was already well aware that this was complicated. That was why he was here to begin with !
"I- I am not sure." Yep. This was so going to help Love figure this out ! "I thought he was teasing me at first. But now I do not think he is... And I do not know what to think about it." He'd been kissed twice, and caught completely and utterly off-guard at that.

"Teasing you?" Rio tilted his head, most curious. There were different degrees of teasing, and Kios was being very vague. Of course, he was also very curious as to who this 'he' might be, but that was netiher here nor there, and he would be good and not ask. Yet. "Hn. It would be easier to help if I knew more. What sort of teasing or...not-teasing are we talking about here, and how do you feel about when it happens? Before you think about it."

"Well, little pranks. Catching me off-guard." It was hard to explain, exactly. Just all the little things Taj had done, like turning the dice game in his favor - though he had certainly never be against turning tides against him if he fancied it. "But then he kissed me." Poor boy, turning all red in the face. Clearly that was quite uncommon. "Twice." It was worth saying, apparently.
"....AndIthinkIlikedit."

Rio propped his arm on his knee and took another sip of wine, making another quiet sound while he thought. "Mm, well, most people do like kissing - love isn't a necessary prerequisite for that, although it does help. How do you like him? Kissing notwithstanding."

How did he ? Well, this was not something Lament had stopped to ponder, by all apparences. "Uh..." His fingers would play with the lace hem of his overskirt, clearly in a nervous gesture. "I guess I always liked him ? He showed me tricks when I was younger, and I liked being with him. It feels... different, now, but I cannot really tell how..." Or why. Love - that is, the love from a lover to another - was not something he truly was aware of. Oh, he knew it existed, and he knew how people acted like when they were in love - somewhat briefly with his own parents, then more in-depth with Tien and Enjiron - but it had not been something he had ever felt.
Not consciously, at least. "I-I am probably just wasting your time, am I ?" He sighed. "Sorry..."
