The Amityville School secretary stared incredulously at the letter. It didn't even matter if he was openly gawking now, some gnomes peering over his shoulder - even though gnomes couldn't actually read - the warm steamed apple cider very much going cold as he simply stared.

Finally he scratched his head, and very, very gingerly, picked up the skellyphone. Three digits were pressed as he waited on the line. "Er yes, I'm asking about the- what no I don't want a live reindeer what would I do with a live reindeer - " Actually he was already envisioning what he would do with a live reindeer and it was kind of awesome and he kind of wanted one now - "About this letter from S- no I'm not on the naughty list look I'm calling from Halloween and-"

Silence from the rather gabby elf on the other end.

"Hello? Anyone still there?" The secretary tried. He pressed on regardless. "Well, when in the letter it says payment in labour. That's not ahhh... permanent is it? Just a temporary borrowing?"

A few terse words on the other end. Arel regardless, sighed. "Okay phew, well that's good enough. I'll send you some uh, helpers. We're talking about what kind of helping, nothing too torturous right - oh, building toys and singing songs?" Pause, poker face. "I'll see what I can do."

The skellyphone was placed back down. He sighed, and very slowly pulled out some black-out, and a Haunted Pen, starting the arduous task of making this official.

A few hours later, several students passing by the school office door - considering that the office was on the way to everything, its bright colours were really not that hard to miss - would find a new sign posted on top of everything else.

Wow that was sure convincing.

SIGNING UP FOR A FUN PART TIME JOB!!!

- It looks like a seasonal part time job is availible for any students (or Horsemen) interested! It involves, according to the sign, lots of pay, and requires students only to step inside the office and wait for further instructions.
- Aww look, the sign is even seasonal and holiday-like. Surely this can only bode good gestures and will to everyone!
- One Holiday bonus Artifact will be rolled from all the participants as a sort of IC prize incentive (regular bonus rp points for it being a GM rp with a few series of rps apply)
- You really need to only post once per 24 hours so why not. This is a storyline rp that is mostly cute and quirky but may involve parts of students running for their lives or fighting some huge boss thing. Nothing is guaranteed.
- ALL ARE INVITED!! This is a stand-alone storyline

It would seem tis the season to make Uller do physical labor with lots of promise of pay. While struggling he was not, it was always nice to have some pocket cash. So, leaving the flier behind him, the Stag made his way towards the office.

First it had been Lan with her promise of sweets if he pulled a sleigh for her. He'd done it and gotten the promised sweets, but he didn't like it. It was fairly degrading, honestly. Still, the sweets had been the best he'd had and he still had a bunch of sugar cubes left over to snack on when he wanted them. Now it was.. whatever this was going to be. Hopefully it paid in something more than sugar cubes. He wanted to get a few things for when Tahki finally found her way back to the school. Jack, he missed her, but what could he do?

So, into the office he stepped and looked around, hands in his coat pockets.

Tomoko clearly had very little sense of self-preservation, and helping out sounded like fun! Pay? Yeah, that was probably an incentive too. Her little 'save up for the preschool' jar was very sad looking, so she needed to try and get a little extra in here and there where she could, after all.

But if work was involved, there was bound to be a need for snacks, so shoving a few carefully bagged spookies into her pockets, Tomoko head headed to the office eagerly to wait.

It was unfortunate her brain didn't go AHEM, BAD IDEA. Because she'd probably regret this later. Maybe.

Gene would have usually questioned the sign, but she was just too happy and distracted by all the thoughts of which patterns she'd be putting on which scarves to give to which friends.

She already had a job, yes, but extra seeds were always nice. They'd buy her even more yarn for even more scarves to give out to random people she met. Gosh did she love scarves - they were just great. Best things ever, really.

Making her way into the office, Gene floated there happily, humming an odd little tune.

The first time Phos passed by it, he couldn;t believe his eyes. The sign just looked so FESTIVE!. it was perfect. lots of currency and fun. He loved FUN. The little fluffy tail began its fluffy wagging as he went off to try and take Night's yarn to knit a sweater.

The red hoodie slowly took shape, with its ear holes and a tiny puppy at the collar and gave it a look over. It seened fine, a worthy thing to try and wear at the part time job.

The skip in his step didn't faulter whn Phos came back to the office and took his seat.

Long legs were swinging in tune to the song he was humming.

Jack could always use a few more dollars, and simple manual labour was something that Jack was used to - he could easily lug around five cats in one arm and any of his musical instruments in the other while balancing a tea cup on his head, (he says that, but he's never actually attempted this specifically, that would be silly.)

Wandering in to the office, he looked around, expecting to be bombarded with the strange warm feelings that had been infecting students and horsemen alike recently, including that snow stuff . . .

Terra's eyes were huge as she looked at the sign. There were red and white and green things on it, and the promise of money--she could buy Christmastival presents if she had money! And so Terra waved her hand happily as she raced forward to volunteer. "I will help!" she exclaimed. She was wearing her ill-gotten parka, had a muff hanging around her neck, and a scarf wrapped around her throat. In fact, she was even wearing red and white striped tights.

Christmas mode was GO!
---------

Fai, on the other hand, sauntered forward, looking around curiously. The reason he was signing up? Curiosity, pure and simple. He had always wanted to see Christmas--or at least he assumed that was where they were going. The horseman looked around, taking in the faces he knew--and the very, very many that he didn't. That didn't bother him very much at all.

Sophie was on her way back to her dorm when the sign caught her eye. Her speed dramatically slowed as she approached it until she came to a stop in front of it. Part time job, huh? She was running out of fabric and yarn and for some odd reason she had a strange desire to constantly knit scarves and holiday sweaters for everyone ever..The money could also come in handy for the bells she wanted to attach to said items of clothing..

Well, that was that. She stepped into the office and peered around at all the other students, wondering what in the world they were going to be doing. "Please let it be something easy.." Just because Sophie understood the value of working hard for your money didn't mean she enjoyed it.

So it was that time of year again. Christmas. The school grounds had already been blanketed with snow and the black dog's nose wrinkled in the anticipation of that damned peppermint smell. The most jack damned horrible scent in the world. Second only to the other bathroom. But the most annoying part about this was, was that he was starting to 'like' it. Worse. He actually felt cold. As in actual cold! Furthermore, to counter the cold, what did he pick out? Not a scarf, but a red one. A festive one. If this kept up he would be caroling and hugging people like everyone else and--

No. No! He would not let the holiday spirit infect him! He was determined to avoid and ignore it until the season passed. Determined, and yet when he saw the sign posted up, the black dog couldn't help himself when he investigated further.

TG had to crane his neck all the way back to read, but he really didn't need to read much. The key words here that really mattered was Lots of Pay!! It was something that always grabbed his large ears, and the imp grinned. Oh, he could do with a few seeds. Maybe then he wouldn't be a bit short (no puns) when the next lady auction rolled around.

Dressed in a simple white dress, Mei stopped by the school office to find a new post up. She had no real need for pay, nor did she care much for anything JOYful. However, it was a chance to get away from this school for a bit, and possibly a break from everything else that was going on around here. It couldn't hurt, right?

Though, if any trees gave her trouble this year, she would make her first job chopping firewood.

Upon noticing a number of students pausing by the office door, the curious baku trotted up and stood behind them, waiting until the peers in front of her dispersed before wriggling forward to eye the poster that everyone had been staring at.

...Part-time job, huh? While the claim of high payment was definitely tempting, the first thing Xiu really noticed about the sign was that there was no indication of what said job was. Limited slots and good pay made it sound rather tempting and desirable, but what if it was, say, getting stuck cleaning the bathrooms here at Amity?

Her pink eyes flickered to the side when she heard another voice quietly speak up. Pushing her scarf down, the corners of her lips quirked upwards in a faint smile as she turned her head slightly so that she could look at the undead ghoul. "Are you applying? I'm hesitant, since we don't know what this job is, but..." But extra change was always nice, and she didn't have much else to do right now.

Temes (or Chuppi) was. . . well, trying to integrate herself more back into the school system. She'd been such a slacker since she managed to make the third rank, hiding from students and not going to class, so in a sort of sense the small chupacabra young teen felt like she was being a let down to everyone at Amityville.

The sign about a job, decorated in a strange way she only vaguely knew to mean 'festive', had her attention. It took her a bit to read it, it was well over her head and there were others standing around to block her view, and the monster had to settle for getting near enough to jump up and read it. She had to jump several times, her legs protesting against the motion because she was out of shape, but eventually she managed to grasp the basic points.

Someone needed help, she could help, and people would get paid? The seeds didn't really mean anything to her, she wasn't the type to go out and buy things on a whim. Food was anything she could catch and her clothing...she liked. . .well. Maybe it would be good to try and get more seeds, and certainly it would be good for her to do things for people.

The chupacabra needed to stop being so scared of everything, this was a chance to grow up even the smallest bit. Also she was a monster, she was a strong monster and people always needed heavy lifting done right?

. . . right?

Sophie's head whipped around and she stared at the other ghoul like a deer in headlights. She could feel the warmth of blush behind her skin; a soft rosey pink tinge creeping around her cheeks that was barely visible. She prodded her index fingers together, fiddling for a few moments before she finally spoke. "Yeah. I think so. I need more fabric and wool."

The ghoul blinked a few times, surprised that she had managed ten words without stuttering or mumbling. Maybe that was a good sign - even if she'd stood silent for a few moments before those ten words. Small steps, right? She shifted her weight, giving a light shrug of her shoulders. "It can't be too bad, right? I mean, they're sending students after all." Poor, naive Sophie clearly had no idea what the school was like just yet.
