[Word Count 919] - Part 1

Halloween... it was perhaps one of the holiday's Feliks was most afraid of. It wasn't because of the encounters with scary costumes or ghost stories either. It was because of his sisters. The youngest needed a chaperone and well Feliks every year was volunteered by his youngest sister which usually involved his second youngest sister and her friends tagging along.

Of course, that's not so bad right? Feliks however, sighed as he sat there in a costume shop watching his two youngest sisters try on outfits. Nothing either of them liked and neither of them could decide on a theme. Feliks often encouraged his sisters to wear outfits that he could easily find a male counterpart to, that fit... though much to his dismay somehow Zoya saw someone wearing a pinkie pie hoodie and grinned whispering to Kata; both of them were grinning at Feliks by this point.

Feliks, of course having a sinking feeling sighed, "What did you two decide?"

"Ponies!" Zoya said with glee and a bright smile.

"What she means is, we want to be Ponies from My Little Pony." Kata paused, "But they don't have the right outfits, these look silly."

There was a long silence as Feliks looked at them, "So.... what do you want me to do about it?"

Zoya looked at Kata, who had a point, and Feliks couldn't do anything could he?

"Well Duah, you're supposed to make us outfits." Kata said with a roll of her eyes.

There was another pause while Feliks thought about this, "Aha... like I know how to Sew." He muttered standing up, "Come on I'm sure we can find something that works."

Kata crossed her arms and Zoya mimicked her. "No. You can make something! I know you can. I've seen you patch the quilts."

Feliks let a long sigh escape. "That was a quilt, it was completely different. I can alter outfits maybe. It's not going to look that great though. Zoya could probably do a better job than I would."

Kata wasn't hearing of it and Zoya was just supporting her sister, which caused Feliks to roll his eyes at his sisters. "Come on then, let's go find you two something so I have a starting place for this silly idea of yours." Nope Feliks didn't approve of it at all, he wasn't about to sew for them, when his skills were just a patch job. He knew once he'd done this for them, the rest of the girls in their little parade on Halloween were going to want costumes done up, and their mom's wouldn't have time.

Feliks felt legitimately shafted. "If you guys could've decided on these costumes three months earlier maybe I could've found a good tailor that I could've gotten work done for cheap. It'd would look so much better, and I wouldn't find myself roped into this silly situation. I don't even know what they do for pony costumes."

Feliks paused as he thought about those words, AW crap maybe he should do some research first before indulging his sisters. "You know what... I'm sorry guys we gotta get home." He was looking at his watch, "I have a shift in half an hour and right now I don't have time to go get supplies for this project. Plus you two have to eat and get ready for your practices tonight."

"But Feliks you said you were off tonight! That's why we could come!" Kata protested looking at her brother.

"Yeah? I forgot my boss called me in earlier today while you guys were at school." He answered. They both looked unhappily at him. There was an awkward smile before he shoved them back towards the door. "Let's go and fix something to eat so I can get to work okay? It'll give me time to think about what we need to do to make this work."

There was another more nervous smile, as he finally got his sisters to relent and agreed to leave the subject for now. He whipped up a quick supper for them and his grandmother, since his mother and father had to work late and the twins were out doing who knows what. "Now then, you two behave for GramGram okay? Mom'll be here soon to take you to your practices."

Feliks took to the street and headed for 'work'. He could only thank the stars that Mad Marxz often called him in for stock duty late nights when he wasn't patrolling. It seemed at least pretty legit then. Though it didn't make Feliks feel any better for having to ditch his sisters to figure out what he was going to do for their costumes.

"Sometimes I wonder if they plan on this and decide to punish me." He muttered as he continued along the street having powered up. Maybe he could find one of the others to help? Though doubted she'd be allowed into the library or some such. The magenta haired senshi took to the roof tops to make traveling faster. First the library and then one of the local sewing shops, he could make a well laid plan for mice and men if he had the research.

"I swear sometimes I wish I never accepted GramGram's offer of learning to patch quilts. It's gotten me into nothing but trouble." Feliks could already picture Iris laughing at him for knowing how to mend. Though now he actually had to learn how to sew if he couldn't find anything fitting to alter.

[Word Count 1,272] - Part 2

Feliks had done days worth of studying and intelligence gathering on My Little Pony costumes. From things people wore to 'cons' all the way down to merchandise that existed for the sole propose of denouncing your fandom. To say he was sick of looking this stuff up was a bit of an understatement, not to mention weirded out by some of the things he found.

"Dude some of these guys need hobbies." He muttered as he started to leave work.

"Feliks!"

The magenta haired boy froze when he heard Marxz calling at him. "Sup?" Carefully he crossed over to the office.

"Did you tell your parents you were working the other night? Because I got a complaint that your sisters had been looking forward to costume shopping with you."

Feliks winced leave it to his parents to ruin the thing. "I... well you see Marxz. My sisters decided they wanted 'handmade' costumes that are all kind of fancy and they want to be ponies..." There was a pause as he was trying to figure out how to explain this conundrum. "See, I don't know how to sew but they think I do and I needed to get away from them so I could figure out how to work this. I don't want them to be disappointed, you wouldn't want my sisters to be disappointed, on Halloween because their costumes suck do you? So I used the only excuse I knew of to get away so I could see what I could about getting them costumes made."

Marxz seemed to be thinking about what Feliks was saying, with a sigh he nodded; "Alright but this is the last time I'm covering for you, kid. You're a good worker but next time you need an excuse find one that doesn't involve me. I don't want your family blaming me for unhappy brats."

Feliks nodded, "Thanks man. It means a lot, seriously. I'll make it up to you." He started to bolt when a noise caught his attention, apparently Marxz wasn't finished.

"So this stuff you've been looking up on the computer....?"

"Research for my sister's Halloween costumes; I uh..... didn't realize how awkward some of it could be." He coughed slightly before grinning, "Don't worry, I won't have to look any more of that up I promise! Now I have to go 'cause I gotta get to shopping so I can get someone to alter the outfits! Thanks again Marxz!"

This time Feliks didn't give Marxz a chance to say anything else. If he kept up, Feliks was worried there was going to be a gaping hole where they start asking if he was a terrorist. That was the last thing he needed anyone to suspect. Much like he didn't need Iris suspecting he knew how to sew either.

"Mannn I swear I hate Halloween." Feliks muttered when he walked into the fabric store, with doodles of what he wanted to do. He wasn't going to get everything here, he knew his sisters sizes. So what he needed was the accessories. Lucky for Feliks though he'd found nice wigs with pony accessories already attached and had ordered those as soon as he found them, in his sister's sizes.

"Let's seee here..... Zoya's going to want to be pinkie pie." He paused looking at some of the fleece material before picking out a pastel blue and yellow for the cutie mark. He then looked for some patterned white, something that said candy. Good thing it was Halloween, he also grabbed a pack of candy corn buttons. "Okay so, this should do it for Zoya's.... Now Kata."

Kata honestly always seemed to like and identify with Applejack more but there was also rarity who was Kata's favorite. Feliks pondered before shaking his head and grabbing the red material for the cutie mark and some extra colors. For the tails he paused, looking at what he'd thought about doing. "Hm... I'm not sure I could make this work...."

"Need some help?" A sweet voice spoke up behind Feliks which made him jump.

"Ohhh.... uh hi." He smiled at the lady that worked at the fabric store. "Sorry I'm just trying to figure out how to do this for my sisters...." He said sheepishly holding up the crud sketches of their outfits. "I was going to buy the dress , tutu, jeans and shirt and then alter them. However, the tails have me a bit stumped." He admitted.

It was either crudely make them with stripes of fabric or try and make stuffed tails. "Oh, well uh... looks like you'd probably need them stuffed and have embroidery accents." She answered as if that was an everyday question; though since it was Halloween that probably was a popular question.

"Well that's all fine and good but I can't do embroidery work. I'm limited to simple sewing and there's no one that has time to make the outfits." He said sounding a little irritated at the notion.

"Hm... maybe I could help you out. How old are your sisters?"

"Seven and Eleven," Feliks answered as he stood there watching the woman think.

"I might have time to make them something simple that looks close to those ponies' tails." There was a smile as she looked at Feliks, "I mean if you have enough money, I know you're buying the material and all."

Feliks tried not to wince at how the woman said 'if you have enough money'. He knew there was going to go all his savings. "I should have, but since I'm buying the material I'm not paying until they're finished."

He wasn't about to get jipped out of material and his money. Just because the lady worked there didn't mean he trusted her.

Though the woman seemed to be okay with that, and after he checked out she nodded, "Come back next week and I'll have them finished... Oh do you need one as well? I'm assuming you're taking them out trick or treating if you're handling the costumes."

Feliks sighed he hadn't even thought about what he was going to do. "Uh.... not right now; I haven't even bothered with a costume for me. If I need one, I'll ... pay you double what I paid for the others." He knew Halloween was getting close and he couldn't just keep dawdling. "I got to see what my budget is like after I finish their outfits." He added with a nod.

After Feliks managed to leave the fabric store he made a quick trip to his sister's favorite stores and buy the rest of the outfits. Which included legwarmers, a dress and tutu for Zoya; then he got jeans, a white shirt and a red and white plaid shirt for Kata, with a bandana to top it off. When he got home he noticed that Zoya and Kata were in the backyard playing with Kata and Zoya's friends.

Feliks frowned as he did his best to slip into the house unnoticed and made a dash for his room when he heard the girls heading into the house as well. Stashing the goods he managed to get out of his room and lock the door before meeting the girls face to face. "Hey girls, how's everyone?"

He paused, "You guys want some snacks? I'll make something for you guys to eat!" He wanted to make sure Zoya and Kata steered clear of his room. So he made sure they were kept busy enough to forget that he'd just come out of his room. He'd have to work on their costumes when they weren't home, else he'd never get done.
