Aiden did not want to spend a lot of time in the dorm. She had made it through the ball okay, but she couldn't spend all day in the dorm and possibly with Edmund for awhile. Her heart still hurt, and she didn't want to burden Edmund with anything unnecessary. He should be focusing on his potential relationship, after all.

And so she found herself at the park, although not by the playground. She wandered for awhile before eventually finding a place to haphazardly plop down.

She regretted doing that almost instantly. A sharp pain erupted from one of her legs, which said she'd probably cracked it. She seemed to be more fragile lately, but kept forgetting to take that into consideration. With a sigh she pulled the leg in question out in front of her to inspect.

Yep. Cracked. Despite her best attempts to control herself, tears welled up in her eyes. She pulled her knees to her chest and rested her forehead on them, taking deep, shaky breaths.

Cedric used to come here all the time before the conflict, but during it he kept close to home. This was the best place to come and meditate for him. It was close to his home and had just enough nature to be able to remove himself from the world. After so long without being able to do it in his favorite spot, Cedric was inwardly overjoyed to be heading down to his favorite spot. Sure, he was able to meditate at home, but it wasn't the same, though he had been working on a place in the new house, but the plants wouldn't be able to be put in until spring.

He was in an odd attire, for him and for the average person anyway. It was one of those ensembles that one would see on a traditional Tai Chi instructor, almost looking like Chinese themed silk pajamas to the untrained eye, but it was loose fitting and comfy and therefore Cedric did not care what other people thought. He had a few mock his attire but he quickly pointed out something was wrong with theirs and told them to shove off, and they usually did. Few people wanna mess with a guy with black eyes and wings after all.

He had just gotten himself in a seated position when he heard a crack. It sounded like glass cracking, so he looked around only to spot a pale female dotted with technicolor markings and pale green hair. The overall look sounded so familiar, but he could't place his finger on where he had last seen someone with that description, but he was sure he had seen SOMEONE like that at one point. She seemed distraught, clinging to herself in such a manner, and he was concerned enough to stand himself up and move towards her. Sometimes things one wants to do is less important after all.

When he got closer, he could tell that she was crying, or was about to at least. She was still clinging to her legs, and her breaths were shaky. He was about to inquire what was the trouble, but something else caught his attention. One of her legs had a crack in it! It was obvious that she was a meta at this point but still that was an injury, and possibly the cause of the tears. He squatted himself down to be at her eye level.

"Are you okay ma'am? Do you need any medical attention?" he asked with concern.

Aiden was caught off guard by the presence of someone else, she hadn't expected anyone else to be out here. She took one more breath to steady herself before lifting her head up to look at whoever it was.

Oh dear. She'd met this guy when he was younger... you don't forget those eyes. She put up a twitchy smile, a little too damaged to make it as real as she wanted it to be. "I-I..." She paused and cleared her throat. "I'm okay, really. Thank you, though." She nodded a little, and perhaps not so subtly moved her hand over the offending crack in her leg.

Cedric frowned at the woman, sitting himself down completely now. Just who did she think she was fooling. Still, he was starting to remember who she was now, or at least who she reminded him of. He talked to someone with similar features at the last ball he went to. He mentally shuddered. His sister was right, the balls were nothing but trouble. That person was a boy pretending to be a girl though, while this was clearly a full female, lacking in the traditional lump in the throat. Then again, gender switching potions were available. He and Hayden even plotted to use weak ones to cause havoc around the school, but that plan fell through after time.

"You don't seem okay..." he commented, pulling up one knee to set his arms on top of. "What's gotten you all worked up?"

She sighed, shaking her head a little. "I suppose... no, I'm not okay, but it doesn't matter, really." She waved a dismissive hand... the one covering the crack, but then put it back into place. "I've met you before, haven't I? At a school event?"

Cedric nodded in understanding. He really didn't just expect her to come gushing out to him, but still, he was worried. The topic change was a nice one though

"Yes I think so, at a Halloween ball if I recall. I heard there was one recently combining the Halloween and Christmas ball together, but I had no intent in going. Things ended on a sour note in the last one and it made me very...distrustful of school events." He coughed slightly. "I was the one breaking down the door because some crazy shadow thing thought it's be hilarious to trap us inside the ball room, among other things." He shrugged, then looked at her for a moment.

"I however am having a slight memory lapse and can't remember if we introduced ourselves then or not... I'm Cedric. Cedric Taji."

Aiden nodded a little. "Oh, I went... it was... interesting." She shook her head again. "Someone spiked the punch.. and someone else hung mistletoe everywhere." She let out a long sigh and rested her head on her knees. "I think I remember now. I'm Aiden. I don't really have a last name." She shrugged, or well, as best as she could all hunched over. "Its nice to meet you... again."

Oh now he remembered that name. "So you're the Aiden my sister Kyle would go on and on about before she left to be a musician with my friend Hayden?" He posed the statement in the form of a question as to confirm the answer. Unless there are more people on campus with the same name, which he doubted overall.

The no last name thing sounded sad, but he didn't want to point that out because she was already sad enough as it is.

"It's nice to meet you again too Aiden, though I do wish it was on more cheerful circumstances..."

"Oh, you're her brother?" Aiden blinked a little, she had probably lost the names of Kyle's family somewhere in the stream of words Kyle spewed all of the time. "I think I remember her talking about her family a time or two... but she talked so much its hard to keep everything straight." She sighed and nodded a little. She liked Kyle, but her energy was a bit much to take sometimes. "Perhaps if we had run into each other a few days ago, but yeah... it would be nice if it were more cheerful. I'm sorry."

Cedric laughed. "Yeah she's too energetic for her own good sometimes, but it seems to work well with the band business and all. Gives her something to focus all that energy on anyway," he said with a nod.

"It's fine, no need to apologize about that," Cedric said with a light smile. "Though if you aren't in the mood to talk about the situation, perhaps I can help you take your mind off of it for a while. I came to the park to meditate, and wouldn't mind if you joined me. I know it helped me sort out my own troubles."

"I'm glad that its going well for her, then." Aiden nodded a little. "I haven't tried meditating... I don't... I don't think it would work very well for this problem. My head is full of thoughts, constantly." She sighed and eventually just laid down, resting her head on her arms. "I don't really know how to turn them off. I wish I could, though."

Cedric frowned but nodded. Until one got used to meditation, it was hard to push thoughts out of one's mind. "Well what else do you enjoy doing then? Perhaps one of those activities can help you take your mind off of these unpleasant thoughts?"

He thought for a moment, and blinked a couple of times. Okay, only one soul, so these thoughts were just thoughts and not something like Sonnet or Deskri or Silas had. That was a good thing. The last thing he wanted to deal with was a malice, and she seemed void of one.

"I wish I knew how to do that every now and then as well Aiden," he commented with a sigh. "So many people could benefit from turning off their thoughts every now and then.

"Well.. normally I read, or I'll do some sculpting with glass..." She shrugged a little and sighed softly. "But I've been reading a lot more than usual, lately, my eyes have started hurting from looking at the small text. And the glass is getting... well, it reminds me of things that I don't really want to think about at the moment." Namely, making glass decorations for Edmund's garden.

She shook her head a little, "I'm sorry I'm being difficult, I don't want to keep you from your meditation though, it sounds like it could be very beneficial."

"Well we could just stay here and talk. Doesn't have to be about anything in particular or anything," he said with a nod before looking her and shaking his head.

"Oh no, it's quite all right. It can wait," he said with a small laugh. "You are being no bother. I just want to make sure you are okay is all. Always been that way. My one sister Sonnet worried me to death practically with all the different things she was put through..." he paused a moment to sigh a small sad sigh. "And put herself through..."

"That works too, I guess..." She nodded a little. Sonnet... she thought she had heard that name somewhere before... Maybe... "I think... I've heard of a Sonnet, but I haven't met her... is she alright?" She certainly sounded like she'd been through a lot. Then again it seemed that there had been a lot happening for awhile.
