This was the sort of weather in which a fellow should not leave one's abode for an extended period of time, without equipping oneself with a thermos.

Sharra was particularly fond of his, a gift from his aunties that coupled well with the scarf he'd wound up purchasing from a Craft Booth during Spirit Week. Between that garment, his black button-up coat and the warm metal twixt his fingers (goodness he needed to add gloves to that ensemble), it was only the tip of his nose that was currently suffering from the chill in the air. Claws clanged merrily against the circular container, large enough for several glasses full of piping hot chocolate, a drink that the Nergal couldn't bring himself to quit.

He'd meant to bother Yaya, but it seemed that she was busier today, the ghoul being farther along in her studies than her demon boilfriend. So here he was, perched on the fountain behind the dorms, watching the white flakes fall from the sky. It was disconcerting, the sort of calm and happiness...joy...that seemed to emanate from something as simple as solidified water. Heh. Setting out the two cups on the stone beside him, he filled one with steaming liquid. There were usually more students out this time of day, though it seemed that the cold was keeping a few of them away from the outdoors, or at least causing boils and ghouls alike to walk briskly to and from their classes so as not to linger in the chill.

The cold didn't bother Sharra overmuch, but the snow was alien, filling him with the same sort of curiosity that it had upon their first trip into Christmas-land. In the domain of Halloween it seemed far more benign, rather than stark, and unfriendly in its colorless splendor. "To the Holidays..." He murmured, as he brought a cup of sweet-smelling warmth to his lips.

It wasn't as much fun to toast alone.

Walking around and getting used to his new surroundings, Marosa didn't actually mind this slight joy that the snow brought. Yes, it was different, but different didn't necessarily mean bad.

It didn't necessarily mean good, either, but the fey would stick it out to see what happened.

Walking by the fountain, Marosa's ears caught wind of another's spoken words, and he stopped to turn his head to stare at another boy sitting on the fountain. He smiled nervously, making sure to keep his distance even though he wanted to sit right next to him.

Tramping down his feelings, Marosa raised an eyebrow and glanced at the hot liquid. That looked really good. Really good. He couldn't help but ask, an Irish accent coating his words, wings fluttering against the cold.

"Ois dat hot choc'lit?"

It took Marosa's spoken words to jar the blond lad out of his trance, gaze swiftly departing from the snowy particles, so that he could flash a smile to the newcomer. Sharra's brows went up as he eyed the other, Fae, perhaps, by the looks of him, though he had little knowledge of that particular race...even if Thannas was amongst the demon boil's acquaintances. He thought...hoped at least, that the wings were a dead giveaway.

"Eeeyup." In response he hefted the thermos, just before giving his own tin mug a nice loooooooong sip. "Would you like a cup?" There was a wry, toothy grin directed towards his fellow student. Though this fellow might not have been his initial choice for this afternoon's companionship, who was Sharra to spurn the advances of Fate? Considering the Nergal's recent hermit-like behavior, it would do him well to meet some new people. There was a sudden influx of freshmen, he'd noticed, which made him all the more grateful that he was taking his own exams.

Leaning over, he patted the stone beside him, "Pop a squat!" Nudging the other cup over in the redhead's direction, he tipped the thermos to cautiously pour his visitor a mugfull. Heck, even if this guy didn't want, Sharra was not above drinking twice his portion.

Green eyes flickered back up to the Fae, and he slowly set the tin container down. "I'm Sharra, by the way. Sharra Eldwaithe. You're new here, yeah?" He'd been seeing a few of these faces now and again, during large festivals and other such events, and it was good to see that some of them were coming to Amityville to stay, despite some of the hiccups common to these parts.

"Aye." Marosa couldn't help but smile as he sat as close as he dared to Sharra, picking up the cup and taking a long drink. With the time he took to drink it, it was very apparent that he enjoyed every bit of the hot liquid.

"Thank ye," He murmured appreciatively, wings fluttering in delight as he set the empty container on his lap. "Oi'm Marosa Feyrath. Pleased ta make yer acquaintance." He felt a little out of sorts due to his natural... condition, but he tried his best to look like he wasn't out of sorts. Marosa wasn't sure if this was working or not, but drat it, he was trying.

His gaze shifted to regard the snow. "Dis happen offen?"

Sharra whistled softly as the other downed the hot chocolate. Admittedly, the trickle of warmth down one's midsection when a body did that was beautiful. "Heh, I see you like your sweets!" There was approval in the boil's tone as he regarded his fellow student. "Want some more? This thermos is full." There were probably a good six cups still in there, and though the Nergal likely could drink them on his onesies, didn't mean he wasn't keen to share. Company made the whole experience better.

"Marosa, huh? Nice." Propping his leg up on the stone edge of the fountain, he began to pour another cup for himself, the offer to his fae companion still extended.

Green eyes tracking the redhead's glance, the demon shook his head, "Nah. Not usually...not in Halloween anyway, this is usually an almost solely Christmas commodity. I remember the snow from the first crazy field trip that I took, but it wasn't as...subtle then. All you can see is white for miles if you actually head into Christmas proper." Pulling his scarf down and away from his neck with a finger, he took a deep swig of the hot chocolate, "You get much snow in your neck of the woods?" He knew the accent, Irish, but he knew that that didn't necessarily mean that's where Marosa had lived previous.

That and this kid did seem a touch out of sorts, but then, Sharra wasn't one to judge, barely knowing him for five minutes and all that.

Holding out the cup, Marosa nodded happily. "Aye, more would be luv'ley." He thought about the question of snow, and home, his thoughts going instantly to his father. As much as he hated to admit it, he did miss home, and cringed about the fight he'd gotten into with his father.

He'd left angry.

"Not often." He murmured softly, staring down at the ground. "Oi'm a bloody fool," Marosa spoke softly to himself, shaking his head. It didn't matter now; all he could hope for was a letter, or something akin to that. Shoving the thought from his mind, he glanced back at Sharra.

"We dun get snow dat offin, but tare are times o'the year where it just shows up. Not like dis, toh. Not... happy." The fey stared up at the sky, wings fanning out. "It be calmin'."

And the Nergal was more than happy to oblige, returning the cup that the other boil offered his way to its former, chocolate-filled state. The warm beverage was soothing, possessed of a certain smooth, sweetness that was nigh-on addicting. Much like the weather of late...funny ol' world, this one.

As the Fae continued, Sharra caught a few words, the demon's pointed ears recognizing the familiar thrum of regret. "Howso...? Y'don't seem too foolish to me, but then I could be a poor judge of character." It was quiet, probing, but friendly...merely an amiable inquiry, the sort of which one could back out of if they so desired. It did seem as though new kid here needed to talk. That, at the very least, was a luxury that the demon had oft-coveted as well, so given the chance, hey, it was good to be able to offer a variety of services to a friend in need. He'd want the same done for him, after all.

Letting out a slow breath in a cloud of condensation, he then took another long sip from his mug, shoulders shivering faintly as the contrast of temperatures sent delicious liquid fire down his core. "I don't think I'd mind the calm-snow either. Just not snow of the unforgiving sort." Sharra swallowed his hot chocolate, "The kind with ninjas." A wry smirk at that. "Though I have to say I like the current flavor Christmas is putting out. Certainly is a bit of a pick-me-up." Definitely better than manic elves.

Taking his time with this cup, Marosa let out a sigh as his shoulders slumped. "My father n'I dinnae see eye to eye." He was glad of someone to talk to, and gave Sharra a thankful but sad smile. "We hadda fight before oi left, but..." Shaking his head, the fae leaned back and let the snow fall on his face for a moment.

"We just disagree on tactics, methinks. Toh I guess that makes me less o'a demon ten him." He shrugged, looking away now, embarrassed. "Fey are teh worst." Taking another drink of his hot chocolate, he relaxed a small bit as he glanced to Sharra again. "Sorry. I ken get... sad easily." He waved his hand, making a small wave of snow in front of him swirl lazily. He was being vague, and he knew it. He didn't want to say it outright, but he would explain if Sharra asked. Marosa would be more than glad to make a friend -- a true friend -- if this guy could understand and still want him as a friend if he knew Marosa's true side. The fey couldn't help but cringe inwardly, hoping it wouldn't go awry.

"Ninjas." Marosa now gave the other a blank stare. "Oi dun tink oi know what tos are." He couldn't help but smile again. "Flavor. Aye. It's a nice flavor." He stared at the hot chocolate and then burst out laughing. "Oi wonder... if the snow fell in the chok'lit, would it make it happy flavored?"

Oooooh. Family problems.

Sharra nodded sagely, taking another long sip from his mug. "I hear ya." Came the understanding murmur, "I've had a few tiffs with my aunties...in fact, at first, I kinda ran off to school to ditch them. Though I don't know what all the issue is with your dad, but..." He trailed off, fingers stroking the warm metal 'neath his hands thoughtfully. "...I dunno, I'm not a very good demon either, in some ways. I'm not your traditional high-brow kid anymore. I'm the last of the bluebloods or some other fiddle-faddle, and going my own way has taken a bit of a toll on the family."

There was, despite the obvious thrum of emotional disturbance the memories caused, a sort of serenity to the blond's words. He had, at least, come to some peace with the choices that he'd made, and the consequences that were cropping up because of it. "I don't know a lot about Fae either. Don't feel too bad." He waved a hand at the other, offering Marosa a sympathetic smile. "I just went through a pretty spiraling bout of sad. I think I can handle if you want to vent a little. It's good for the soul." There was a wink at that, a flash of fang, and he took another long swig from his steaming cup.

"Ninjas are sneaky rascals with throwing stars, that's what they are. Pretty much invisible til' they're stabbing you in the kidney." A weighty sigh was released into the frosty air, "For people that we found hanging out in the snow, they weren't too Joyful."

One brow arched up towards his hairline, and he laughed softly, genuinely amused by the idea. "It might...we could test it in a simpler fashion tho." And Sharra stuck his tongue out, head tilting upwards to attempt to catch the falling bits of white. He knew it looked a smidge ridiculous, and really the Nergal couldn't bring himself to care. Perhaps it did taste happier, but then the lithe demon had little to compare it to.

"Oi'm teh worst fey ever." Marosa shook his head, staring at Sharra. "Highblood?" He snorted. "Sounds like my da'." He rolled his shoulders back, reaching up to trace over the back of his ear, thinking for a moment. "We're prolly na tha diff'rent." Taking another long drink from his hot chocolate, Marosa smiled at Sharra, faltering only after a moment.

"Gancanagh have rounded ears. Pointed ears means tat tere's impure blood in teh family." He couldn't help but shudder, dragging his mind from that particular scenario.

He held his hand up to Sharra, palm out as his face grew serious. "Ye want te know? Oi... won't hold it against ye if ye dinnae wanna be friends after this." Marosa gave a resigned sigh. "We kinnae touch others. Ever. But we have to... dat's our curse." There was a kind of sadness in his eyes as he waited for Sharra's answer.

He'd have to ask about the ninjas again in a moment. They sounded interesting, but he had to know... wanted to know if there was any way that they could be friends despite his curse.

Despite what his father thought.

"I think I know someone that would argue with you." The nergal smiled consolingly, not really seeing the stigma as well as he likely should. Then again, he was used to hanging around Thannas when the word fae was employed in conversation. For all he knew about the fey culture, he might have guessed there was a copious amount of mixed blood creatures in the courts. Twould seem that was not the case, or at least, not in any way that mattered.

"But yeah. I'd have to agree with you." Sharra flashed a smile back at the other demon, "Seems there's some similarities. Kith and kin of spirit and all that!"

As the redhead continued, the Nergal's brows furrowed, spines making a soft rustling noise as they adjusted themselves, shifting to the unheard tune of the demon's emotions. "So?" It seemed almost challenging, not dismissing the grief that this fact caused the other, but instead, picking right back up on the positive, something that Sharra had found he could do for others, even if he couldn't always manage it for himself. "What's that entail, exactly?" He'd heard of all sorts of skin-to-skin abilities, everything from acid to pheromones...what Marosa described seemed to lean a bit more towards the pheromone spectrum, however. "And geeze. Marosa." The blond student gave his companion a sideways smile, clasping his shoulder in sheer camaraderie, a gesture to enforce his words. "That's a pretty silly reason to not be friends in my opinion." What sort of place had the fey boil come from, to be this unsure? Jack.

"Ye would be surprised," Marosa spoke, seeming much more relieved than before. "Ye would have ta meet my da." With the way Marosa looked at this point, hr didn't want to be anywhere near his father, thank you very much.

"Ah, it be a wee bit hard to explain. D'ya want me ta show ye?" Marosa wiggled his fingers just slightly, smiling as the other demon clapped him on the shoulder. "Sometime when we be talkin' o'er tea we kin talk aboot families, aye?" Marosa was definitely relieved, though, when Sharra seemed to not care one whit about his natural ability. This was the kind of friend he needed.

Sharra wrinkled his nose, "I'll have to admit that I don't understand Fae familial dynamics sometimes, at least from what I've seen." Thus far, all of the parental units his fine and fey friends had talked about were a touch on the stern side. The Nergal would almost go a step beyond that, but it wasn't his place to judge, nor had he seen these interactions for himself. But...considering what he knew of Than, and now Marosa...neither of the two boils seemed to deserve being held to a standard that they did not fit, nor had they any real, self-driven desire to uphold.

The blond's eyebrows went up, and he cocked his head to the side. "Well..." He pursed his lips, clearly thinking about the proposition. "You might as well, hmm? Since we're to be friends and all." His smile evolved into a grin, "Good to be informed, if it's that tough to put into words." In the social situations that were likely to crop up, Sharra wanted to be able to informatively defend the other, should something like Marosa was obviously fearing come to pass, and he unwittingly offend someone.

"And we'll talk about our families then, but...only if we can have sandwiches with our tea." He intoned gravely, meeting the redhead's eyes, a smile twitching at the corners of his lips and threatening to decimate Sharra's deadpan expression.

Marisa nodded, drawing his fingers together as he thought. "Hnnn. Sandwiches. I dinnae know, laddie." He responded, staring right back at the other, his own lips twitching and threatening to break his returned stern expression. He couldn't hold it, and ended up smiling. "I kin tell ye all aboot fey functions..." He snorted. "Or dysfunctions. Depends on how ye look at it."

He was relieved, however, that Sharra wanted to be informed. That meant someone else could be looking out for him when he wasn't quite... all there.

"Aye. It'll last ye aboot five to ten minutes. Oi'm not sure HOW it will affect ye, ye not bein' a lassie an' all, but fair warning, aye? And, for the brief future, oi'm sorry." He gave a sympathetic smile as he reached out and patted Sharra's hand, unsure yet yearning at how the other would react.

"We're gonna have sandwiches, just letting you know." He replied confidentially, before leaning back drawing in a deep breath of frosty air. "You and my lil' buddy Than are a bit of a depressing showcase on the matter." It came as a sympathetic murmur. Troubles at home was always tough, especially when a body came to school in an earnest fashion, as Marosa clearly did. He wanted new opportunities and a chance to be himself. It seemed a shame that someone would try to deny him that opportunity. Heh...it was a good indication that there was still a staunchly stubborn sense of tradition in a lot of the older families. And the redhead had said that he wasn't a pureblood? Yeesh. And still all of this pressure.

Marosa seemed pretty serious about testing out this touch-attack problem of his, and so Sharra helpfully upturned his palm, offering his hand to the other. At the brush of skin, he felt a little bit of tingling, as though there were power there, thrumming along his hand where the Fae boil had touched him...but then it dissipated, as though it had only impacted on the surface, and the Nergal took a slow breath in, glancing from his fingers to the other. "I felt it...kind of, but I think I'm only sensing your power, and not actually getting its affects..." It might be too early to tell, but he sought out his companion's gaze, wondering...as Marosa had seemed to imply that the effects were instantaneous.
