Sometimes, being a knight in shining armor was awesome. Camelot felt like he could do anything, and his training and experience only backed that confidence up with some pretty convincing evidence. He was a hero, he had saved many lives and would continue to do so. He had learned quite a lot about his world, and the one they fought in, and he passed that knowledge to others. He could leap from building to building, and down to the ground without any consequence. He was strong and fast and basically a super hero.

A super hero who was currently caught on a drain pipe.

Armor was awesome, he certainly could not complain about that, but sometimes it managed to catch on things. Like his boots, at the moment, were caught on a drain pipe at the top of a building, and he could not get it free. He could power down, step back, and power up again, but he felt other auras in the area and he did not want to risk it.

He also did not want to ripe the whole drain pipe off. So he was stuck slightly wiggling his ankle and hoping the thing let him go before anyone saw him in such an embarrassing situation.

It made sense. Every time he was feeling confident, the universe had ways of keeping his ego in check and reminding him that he was a goon.

Lots of things recently were messing with Cybele’s sense of logic. Youma, magic, talking cats… All of these were supposed to be impossible, and yet they existed. Most of these things either inspired her or made her want to scream. They weren’t funny. Well, mostly. When she heard a slight clanking sound from above while scouring the streets for evil, she thought it would be a senshi running across the rooftops. But apparently, the universe thought that would be just a bit too boring for her.

The man on the roof looked like he had stepped right out of her history book. The crusades, maybe, though the symbol on his garb wasn’t a Christian cross. And as Cybele was taking in his almost comical stoicness, she realized he was stuck. In a gutter.

She giggled, just until she could stop herself. After all, she was running around Destiny City in a toga with flowers stuck in her pigtails. She smiled at him. “Hi.” The roof was pretty high. How did he get up there anyway? Magic? “Are you ok?” Kind of a dumb question, but she was trying to be nice. She took a few steps back and leaped, deciding to try out the rooftop experience instead of talking over a distance. Unfortunately, she misjudged and barely managed to grip the roof’s edge. Fortunantly, there was a windowsill a few feet below her that she dropped onto. Cybele could have easily pulled herself up from there… If she wasn’t wearing a really short skirt. Instead, she perched awkwardly, balancing herself carefully with a hand on the roof.

“Umm… so how are you tonight?” she asked, trying to sound natural.

Camelot looked down at the voice he heard calling up to him. Maybe she had not seen the fact that he was stuck in a gutter, and he could hide it behind the railing or the...

No, she had seen. He could see it on her face.

"Oh, I'm fine, thank you," he called down, sounding absolutely crushed that she had to ask. He looked miserably embarrassed, hiding behind a thin smile and a feigned laugh. It faded after only a few notes.

He wanted to move and help her up but his instincts seemed to not heed the fact that he was stuck, so he just pulled uselessly and the gutter groaned in protest about it. He frowned at it, then looked up at her. She seemed alright, having dropped down onto the windowsill.

Looked like they were both in an awkward position now. In an odd way, it helped him to relax.

"Well, I was doing a lot better until this roof decided to attack." He laughed and shook his head, "but I suppose it could be worse. How are you?"

Cybele glanced down. She wasn't really up so high, so if she wanted to she could drop down and try to find a different way up. It made her feel better that she wasn't stuck, but she was in an decent if somewhat awkward place to talk, so she stayed. "I'm wonderful," she lied cheerfully. Really, she was getting cold and didn't know how long she could stay on the tiny windowsill. Smiling politely, she met his gaze again as she adjusted herself into a slightly more comfortable position.

"At least it's just a roof, right?" she asked. "There are... other things around." Her voice became just a bit darker at that. But she wasn't going to dwell on that right now. Instead, she gave the gutter a calculating look. "Are you really ok?" She was slightly concerned now, even though she wasn't sure the man was with the White Moon. What if he attacked her once he was free? Still, she had to do something. "How are you going to get out of that? What if you can't?" Maybe this didn't count as protecting the innocent, but she was helping someone at least. Or rather, trying. She looked at him pleadingly, even though he was the one who was stuck. She really had no idea what to do. "I can uh... make you stronger if you want?" She didn't really know what exactly her magic did, or if it would really be helpful, but it was the best she could offer at the moment.

"No, no, it's fine, it's fine. It's just a roof, yes. And I am just... trying not to break it. But it seems I must." He sighed and looked at the gutter. How much were they to replace? Hopefully not too much. He apologized to whoever would have to fix it before he kicked down hard with his foot. The thing made a loud protest before it snapped, scraping unpleasantly against the metal of his boot before releasing him at last.

He breathed a sigh of relief, though he was thoroughly embarrassed.

He looked at her.

"Do you need some help?" He moved to the edge of the roof and offered her his hand. He was a knight in shining armor after all, and it was his duty to offer aid to anyone in need, including senshi on window ledges. It wasn't like he had been in much better a position just a second ago.

And he wanted to ask her what she meant by making him stronger.

"Please," she said, taking his hand. Gripping it, Cybele was able to scramble onto the roof. She wasn't as graceful as she would have liked, but as soon as she was on the roof and not balancing on a windowsill in heels, she felt much better. "Thank you." Releasing his hand, she looked at the man's clothes again. She didn't think he was a senshi, but...

"My name is Cybele, by the way." She smiled at him politely, then turned to look at the around. She'd never been on a roof before. The view of the city was good from it, but she'd seen that before. She turned back. "So, uh... why are you up here anyway? " she asked, attempting to keep her voice casual, as if she scaled buildings everyday. "It's probably safer on the ground. From roofs, at least." She grinned. "Anyways..." She hesitated, sobering, trying to decide how to say it, then just spit it out. "Are you with the White Moon?" She asked quickly.

Camelot did not know how the senshi did it. He had a hard enough time getting through patrol in armor, which had its own pitfalls, but they had to run around in high heels and skirts. He had always wondered about that, from the first time he was saved by one.

He couldn't help but hope they weren't cold, every time he saw them. The winter and rainy season could not be good for them.

"Camelot," he said, smiling at the introduction and bowing his head chivalrously, "Knight of Earth. "I was ah... on patrol, but I managed to get myself stuck. Which certainly interrupted things."

He looked very embarrassed, turning bright red. He felt his ears burning in an all too familiar way.

"I like to travel by rooftop, I think it's a bit faster. We're given these boosts of strength and speed, and it certainly helps. Though I need more aim practice, I guess. Oh. Yes, I am. I'm a knight, though, not a senshi. But we're still aligned to Order, and serve the White Moon."

"Order? What's that?" Cybele said, then frowned at his obvious embarrassment. Changing the subject, she said, “Please don’t feel bad! Anyway, you helped me out, so we can forget about all that.” She forced a slight smile to try to make him feel better. It was actually pretty easy, because once he started talking about knights she had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. As usual.

“That’s good. I’m glad I don’t have to fight you. It would be a shame after all that.” She giggled weakly, but underneath she was dead serious. Of course, she wasn’t going to tell him what she really thought. Yet. “Oh. And I’m the Senshi of the Hunt, if it matters.” She curtsied quickly, not knowing what else to do. “It’s nice to meet you, Camelot, Knight of Earth,” Cybele said seriously. “I’ve never heard of knights before, though. Well, knights from a long time ago, of course, but not in Destiny City with the senshi. Do you have magic and princesses like us? Or just armor and the extra strength? ?”

Camelot smiled with relative ease, nodding his head. He was always glad when he was given permission to forget or ignore when he was acting like an idiot. And he felt like he had done enough of that, the idiot part, for one night. Probably for a week, if he were anyone else.

But his bar was much higher than most, because he knew better than to think the universe would ever stop making fun of him.

"Senshi of the Hunt? That must be an interesting thing to work with, do you have magic that helps you track? Ah, sorry, I shouldn't assume. I know some senshi don't like it when other people do that, and now I'm saying 'other senshi' which is presumptuous in itself." He was babbling and he snapped his mouth shut to stop himself. He was riding his embarrassment and it was making him feel like an idiot.

A bigger one.

"Ah, yes. We fight alongside the senshi, or at the very least we are all united on the same side of the fence, opposite Chaos. We don't have princesses, but we do have magic. It's a bit different to yours, as we have to focus it through our items," he motioned with his shield.

“I heard the princesses are useless, so maybe not having them is ok.” Cybele shrugged. Her voice was a bit harsh. “ Anyway, your shield is magic?” She asked, glancing at it. It looked protective, but she was glad she didn’t have to lug one around. Sort of like the armor, that at least had something else she wanted- warmth. “That makes sense.” It wasn’t supposed to, was it? Magic wasn’t supposed to exist. The senshi were supposed to be terrorists. Maybe? She put the thoughts away for some other time when she wasn’t trying to have a conversation.

“I have a bow that’s magic. It… helps you concentrate. It’s kind of hard to explain. I can show you if you want.” She touched her brooch, a bow and arrow like the one she was describing and tried to think. She didn’t really remember how she’d felt when she’d used her magic on herself, but some instinct was telling her what would happen. “It would be great for tracking, now that you mention it. And assuming, or guessing even… it’s better than not doing anything, so don’t feel bad. That’s what I have to do with this whole war thing, fill in the blanks, and I’m usually wrong.” She said with a sigh. She wasn’t as confused as she had been, but if it made him feel better that would be great. “So what does your magic do?” She asked politely.

Camelot looked thoughtful, though he couldn't really comment on the usefulness of Princesses. He did not have the urge to follow one ruler, just wanting to help them all, and serve a purpose. That being to find peace, of course.

He smiled and nodded his head, glancing down at his shield and feeling good for the topic change.

"That sounds like a useful tool in the heat of battle," he said, about her magic, "my magic works a little differently. It needs to be focused through my shield. I don't use it that often, to be honest. It allows me to create a larger barrier, to protect others with. It's useful in large scale battles, but not so useful in the day to day patrol. This big thing is usually enough."

And his rainbow crystal, but he didn't want to overload her with information all at one time.

Cybele bit her lip at the lack of response. Of course she’d said something mean and stupid and probably wrong. Even though she didn’t really think the princesses were doing their job, it wasn’t like she’d had to point it out. “I’m sorry. It’s just…” she paused, then shook her head quickly before she said something she’d really regret. “Never mind.”

Instead, she looked quickly at his shield. “Channel? Like…” She tried to draw some equivalent, but failed. “Like what? I don’t understand.” Taking a small step back, she shrugged slightly. “I’m trying to think of you as a senshi, but that’s not right, obviously…” He didn’t look like a senshi, plus the shield, but he was a magical person running around on rooftops fighting Chaos or whatever that thing they were fighting was called. So, like everything else, she didn’t totally get it. “Senshi aren’t supposed to have weapons, or items, or anything. Just magic, right?” She pointed out, meeting the knight’s gaze. “But I do, so this is all very confusing to me. I’m sorry…” Now she couldn’t stop apologizing, like always…

Camelot smiled reassuringly. He had nothing against the opinions of others, for the most part, unless they were of the opinion that he needed to be punched in the face or something. Then he liked to protest and try to help them understand why they were wrong. Everything else, though, he tried to take in stride.

He was only human, of course, but in this instance he certainly had no problem with the way she felt. He could understand, though he was mostly an outsider to that plight.

"Well," he said, moving his shield in front of him. It was actually not something he did very often. Using his magic, not holding his shield in front of him. That was quite often, if only because it was what the thing was designed for. And bashing youma heads in.

"We can't just call our magic and it happens for us. You senshi can cast your attacks at targets, through your will or magic itself or whatever it is. Even I'm not very clear on how it works for you, but for us... we just have to push all our magic into our items. Do you have to do that too? I've never seen that in a senshi before, but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. After all, there are a lot of similarities between us, so some crossover makes sense. Ah. Anyway."

He focused a bit and pushed some of his magic into his shield. It glimmered and an almost transparent film stretched from the shield itself. It looked like glass, but it was a barrier, extending the range of the shield.

Cybele looked at the barrier thing. It was kind of hard to see in the darkness, but she was still impressed. "Oh... That's so cool!" She said, her voice becoming just a bit higher pitched because of her genuine excitement. It was mostly because she was still getting used to the whole 'by the way, magic is real' thing, so any new magic was enough to truly fascinate her.

Plus, it was practical. "I bet it's nice being able to do something other than running away whenever something tries to hit you. Besides actually getting hit, I mean. That's never fun." She frowned slightly at the thought. "Anyway, I know I can't do anything like that. But I knew that already. I know I'm not a knight." She was ok with that. She liked being whatever she was - shiny and magical and strong. Especially the strong part.

"My magic is... actually less normal than that. It makes sense that a magic shield protects you. But making a bow appear from thin air and shooting someone with it to give them a tracking boost, like I said... doesn't really." She stood up a bit straighter, getting ready to use her magic. "I don't cast it on a target, though. That comes later. And I do have to concentrate, and feel it. For example, I can't just say 'cybele hunters grace' like it doesn't mean anything. I have to... I don't really know if you can understand... Cybele Hunter's Grace!"

A phantom bow formed in her hands. It was weightless, had a very basic shape and made of some slightly glowing silver material. She held it out so Camelot could get a better look. "This is my bow. That's what my magic does- summons it. If I want anything else to happen..." She stepped back and aimed the bow at him. "I have to hit someone with it. If you move your shield I can show you, or if you don't want me to shoot you... I guess that's ok. I know it looks like it should hurt, but it doesn't." She was just trying to be reassuring. The whole weapon thing looked scary. She didn't want people to think she was trying to kill them when she really wanted to help them out.

Camelot had never heard of someone being able to make a false weapon before, and he arched his eyebrow warily as she called it to her hand. He knew that she had told him there was no danger in it, and he trusted her because she was a senshi and had no reason to harm him.

But it was still awkward, at best, to have a bow aimed at him.

"Ah, yes, okay."

He moved his shield despite his hesitance. He imagined she would not attack him out of no where.

"What does it do, again?" he asked, wondering if his armor would stop it. He nodded his head, indicating that she could go ahead and shoot him if she wanted to.
