Okay, I'm gonna cut right to the chase! We all have ideas for threads, stories, RPs, etc. that don't quite fit into Touhou's canon. If you need proof, look at Aura and I's "Til Death Do Us Part", our Touhoumon thread idea, or hell, even the DoD Incident which took place after a 100 year time-skip! The point is, these threads/ideas have taken place in a "yet-to-be-reached" moment in time (or outright won't occur), and as such, aren't technically canon within our Touhou RPs.
To help organize and encourage these ideas, I propose a "What If" Sub Forum where we can put these ideas to the test. Taking "Til Death" as an example again, in its storyline we have killed two recurring characters in the process of writing, and plan on killing a third. In fact, one character that exists in the story -only- exists because the first was killed! So, because we don't want these characters permanently dead, we know that this is wholly a work of fiction, and that those three characters will be alive and well for a long, long time. mrgreen
But "Til Death" illustrates the type of What If RPs that would exist in the new sub forum. The sub forum would still be anchored in our Touhou canon (what happens in the rest of the guild), but each thread contained within would be treated as having its own canon that exists in and of itself, unless stated otherwise.
Rules of what constitutes a non-canon RP:
- Creates circumstances that would harm Gensokyo or its residents permanently
- Creates situations that go beyond the generally accepted "laws" of Gensokyo
- Spans multiple timelines/generations that go beyond the current "official" timeline (Touhou 13 and the near future)
- Introduces new characters as the result of those spans
- Uses material and concepts from the Touhou universe without actually taking place in Gensokyo proper
Additionally, subsequent threads may build upon a singular canon ONLY IF CLEARLY STATED SO.
Anyway, if y'all like the idea of this, and have ideas you'd like to explore that might create havoc in the normal universe, then cast your vote! I think this would open up a new venue and encourage some more unique ideas to be invited into the guild!

A little bit late, but I just wanted to take the time to say thanks to all the people who voted in the poll, and made my idea a reality! mrgreen So thanks everyone! I hope to see your continued efforts in the days to come!
Also, I wanted to give props to Parth for creating (technically) the first successful thread in Cause & Effect! Looks like we've all latched on to the idea, so here's hoping we get to see it to its end! mrgreen
And of course, thanks to Aura for actually doing the work and adding the new sub forum xD
