Zia slowed down from a run and crossed her arms, huffing as she looked off into the empty distance. She wasn't having a good night. Nothing dusted, no one stopped, and her only attempt to talk with a Chaos agent had ended in fleeing. Which was disappointing because lately they were super talkative.
It was far more preferable from stabbing youma with glass, which her fingers were still wrapped from.
But still frustrated from failure she blamed on herself with some mental excuse of being distracted by how awkward the holiday yesterday had been, she kicked at an invisible target in frustration and turned around, taking note of which patrolling territory she was in. Camelot had been on her mind since he'd gotten swept up in the hurricane of the double sided tantrum her and Valhalla were throwing in the street and she wondered if he'd even be out right now. But she was here, and there was no time like the present.
Except there was because she was still weighing the options of even trying to find him or avoiding all this crap like usual.
In the end she glanced around to make sure there was no one she could see watching and powered up into he humanoid powered form, which leaked out uncorrupted parallel energy into the atmosphere like a flare gun.
And she powered way back down again because the more she was out of it, the more Zirconia's skin felt weird. But then started wandering to see if her little energy stunt brought anything out of the woodwork. If not Camelot, at least a youma she could kick or something.

Camelot was on the tail end of helping someone with a youma problem.
A young woman had been chased into the alley between the library and the building next door, and Camelot had just been starting his patrol. He was able to leap down into the alley before it could reach her, but she passed out from shock not too long after.
He picked her up, and was carrying her to the hospital when he felt the energy flare nearby.
Now he was torn. Looking up and down indecisively, he looked at her and decided she was unconscious enough that a slight detour to make sure the source of the energy was not in trouble was fine. He ran toward where he felt the energy with the woman in his arms, slowing when he saw Zia and nothing else.
No youma, and he felt no Negas around.
"Is everything alright?" he panted.

Zia probably would've had trouble deciding if she was going to have a positive or negative reaction to actually finding Camelot, but considering he had an unconscious lady in his arms.
"I--... holy s**t is she okay?" She asked, making a beeline to close whatever lingering distance there was and frown in contemplation at the victim's face. "She's still all... intact, right? Starseed wise?" Sometimes it was hard to tell with people who were out of it.
And then like she wasn't feeling enough guilt already, "I'm sorry! I'm fine, I didn't mean to distract you from dealing with all... of thaaat," She ended making a gesture to basically the whole of both of them, Camelot and his current rescue.

"Oh, she's fine. Ah." He looked around for some place to put her down, opting for a nearby bus bench. He put her down slowly, carefully, trying to make her as comfortable as possible before he looked at Zia again.
"Sorry about what? Oh. Oh, no, that's fine. It wasn't your fault. I was clearly butting in where I did not belong, and I forgot just how young you kids can be. I remember very well now, however, but you don't have to worry about anything."
He offered her a reassuring smile, returning to her side.
"Ah... I hope you don't feel bad about it. I didn't mean to make it seem like. Well. Any of the ridiculous things Sir Valhalla was accusing me of. I'll be more careful and hold my tongue in his holy presence next time, as he clearly has life sorted and has no need of guidance from a friend. Or perhaps not a friend." He shrugged his shoulders and grinned a bit.
"What are you doing out, anyway? And that energy, that was you, right?"

"Are you sure?" Zia questioned, though it sounded more curious than concerned and she ended up daring to poke the poor woman's cheek as she was being set down.
Luckily she bounced away to avoid pestering the poor unconscious thing further.
"I... are you sure? I kind of dragged you into it," She admitted. Though as sorry as she was she'd probably do it again considering she would never get over the fact her supposed best friend threatened to leave her on a dead planet to die and for all her joking she still wasn't over it.
She fiddled with her fingers and glanced around to avoid direct eye contact. "I'm fine, I didn't mean to uh... suggest I wasn't? I was looking for you. To apologize. Because I mean... uhm... I don't know how you guys know each other but... I feel like I ruined something. And I'm sorry."

"Nothing ruined, don't worry. I'm sure whatever mood he's going through will pass, and if not, I will not go out of my way to hassle him further. Clearly that's the last thing he needs, and it's not my fight. But let's not worry about him any more."
He shook his head, glancing around. He hoped nothing else had felt her energy but he would not be surprised if it had.
"I just want to make sure you're okay. I mean. Not just physically and I can see nothing is attacking you right now. But... you were very upset when last we spoke, and things got out of hand."
Understatement.
He watched her, arching an eyebrow as if he could read her mind and was not liking what he was finding there. He couldn't help but want to baby everyone, and maybe he did get overbearing, but at least his intentions were good. He just wanted to see the people he cared about happy and safe.

"Yeah..." Zia muttered, deciding not to go into that whole mess any further. Especially since she'd gone and babied and apologized to Valhalla rather than suffer continued conflict and dive into issues that still kind of gnawed at her.
"I'm... better. I guess. It was just weird and frustrating and stuff." Which was scratching the surface. "He just wants to go back to when we were twelve and the worst thing in the world was homework."
And she cleared her throat. "But um.. how do you guys know each other?" And then she frowned. "A lot of you knight guys know each other, is there something going on?" How faily would that be? Investigating their existence for a year plus and not ever realizing they had another layer of organizing.

Camelot refrained from making a comment about time traveling, and how good one or the other was at it. He smirked slightly, but shook it off. Now that he had gotten some frustration vented he was feeling calm and in a good mood.
He couldn't blame someone for a bad day, and he was not great with grudges anyway.
"Oh, we're both in the Knights of Destiny, and we have been on a few... adventures." He smiled fondly at the memories, though not all of them were good. There was a lot of danger involved. "He is a very dedicated knight, and I hold him in high estimation, regardless of what he thinks."
He shrugged his shoulders lightly. There were not as many knights as other factions and it was not as difficult to keep track of them as it was the senshi. Or maybe Camelot paid a little more attention to it. But it was a bias he did not notice actively.

"Oh well, the Knights of Destiny, of course," Zia said in an over the top manner that gave away how completely devoid of seriousness she was before throwing up her arms, "What is that?!"
Maybe she took just the tiniest hint of offense she hadn't heard of it yet. And luckily she had no idea how many people she already knew in the group or it might be less tiny.
"I mean, I have entire binders on the subject of your existence! And I'm still figuring out what the hell is... I mean, I didn't even know there were girl knights until last month when I found Aventine and Shalott." It was her pet project, and the fact she was still learning was annoying.
"Or that there could be two knights to one planet. Even though I guess that makes sense because you're everywhere, but... what?"

Camelot watched her, lifting his eyebrows in surprise by her reaction. He laughed, since she was very comical and he enjoyed her attitude about things. There was just something endearing about it.
Or maybe it was his daddy instincts kicking in again.
It was said that pregnant women have their maternal instincts kick into high gear, which was only natural considering they were expecting. He wondered if it was the same for the father's of those expected children. Because he was inwardly panicking while he was trying to seem calm and collected about the whole thing.
Was he taking that out in places where he shouldn't?
"Oh, yes. There seems to be a lot of things you don't know about them, huh? Well, I can answer any questions you do have. Shalott, Avalon and I, for instance, all have connected Wonders. Meaning we can visit one another's Wonder from our own. It's very interesting though... I think I'm making it worse. Uh. Well. Anyway. The Knights of Destiny are a collection of knights that defend the city. There's about twelve of us total. We help each other, and the idea is to share information and training."

"I... dch..." Zia stammered and just froze for a minute like something broke in her brain because why didn't she know this yet? Though after a small twitch she dug out her phone and made several dextrous taps on the screen. "Who are they?" They were all getting highlighted labels. And then smacks upside the head depending on how well she knew them.
Though something did click. "Okay you and Shalott... I don't have Avalon yet," Maybe an odd way to phrase adding someone to the catalog. Though more and more she was starting to refer to knights like they were trading cards. "And you're all Earth knights..." She was half guessing on Avalon but if their wonders were all connected, it made sense. "There's more of you guys than the cavaliers. There was only one per planet." Of course, they got rapiers so maybe they didn't need as many.
Her actions were high strung and twitchy, a weird combination of the excitement of having more things to add to her information bank and annoyance, like all her friends were keeping secrets, even though a small part of her knew that wasn't the case.
"Zirconia, you are the absolute worst at investigating anything," Zia said in the same conversational tone as if the cat was standing next to her, though her eyes turned up to space at least gave some clue she was talking to the being in her head as she fished out a cigarette and a lighter in an attempt to be less twitchy. Even if she was distracted by the lecture going on in her brain about how observing the behavior of victims of starseed mutation was far more pertinent than their social cliques.
"I don't think they're mutants. Do you feel mutated? I mean you got a past life and stuff," At some point her conversational target shifted back to Camelot with almost no warning. "Right?"

"Smoking isn't good for you," Camelot said with a frown and a wrinkle of his nose. He watched her disapprovingly, as he used to do when Nathan smoked.
Of course, when Tony was younger he had been a smoker as well.
Her comment seemed to catch him off guard and images of the X-Men flashed through his head. Well. They wore costumes and had super powers, and that was basically all that defined a mutant in that comic, right? But he did not think there was anything mutated about him.
He frowned at her thoughtfully, though there was no real insult on his features. It was just not something he had ever considered before, and to be considering it now caught him in a weird place.
"No, I do not think there is anything mutated about us. I mean. When you say mutation, I think of youma. They're horrible things, and they're created when a starseed takes too much Chaos. I think that is more being mutated then... being a knight."
Their starseeds were normal, right? Now he was wondering. He had never really considered that part of it all. He didn't know why he was the way he was, really, and didn't need to. He just knew what he was doing with the power he was given.

Zia could only roll her eyes at the smoking comment. At least it was just a cigarette was one considered retort that was quickly squashed before it was vocalized. "Oh, right. I mean I've got an alien fighting for my body and a hit out on me from some dark occult space queen and some super pissed off Negas for my part in cleaning up Operation Rota, and a broken starseed, but I'm sure the cancer is gonna get me first," She said with a wry grin and a wink. Zia repressed a lot of snark around Camelot, but apparently the dam had to overflow sometime.
"I dunno, I think Zirconia just has some trouble wrapping her brain around it," She said, suddenly feeling bad about being sarcastic at Camelot in the same way you kind of felt bad for stepping on your dog. "Far as I can tell this is the only universe to spawn knights, and that's pretty weird. But in an interesting way!" She had already taken a 180 and was afraid of offending him.
"You feel a lot like cavaliers. Aura wise. And I think Val said you all originated from earth? So there's that. But you aren't the same. You can't bond with senshi, right? And there's more than one of you per planet but we already covered that. But their purpose was to protect the prince. Like the senshi protected the Moon Queen. Souh. I don't know I haven't looked into the past life aspect until recently since..." Her mouth twisted to a frown as she thought about it.
"Since Valhalla had a weird memory about this knight chick. But the point is if you guys were around back then, you probably aren't just a random occurrence, I'm thinking. But still unique to this universe." Kind of a broad conclusion to make considering she only had memories of two universes, but it was more than most and she was comfortable with that.

Camelot made a displeased, but chagrined, face. He pouted a bit and then shrugged in exasperation. More of it was feigned than he wanted it to be, though, because he did want to chastise her for the unhealthy habit.
"Well, you don't have to help them all out," he said lifelessly, knowing it was a feeble comment when you looked at all the negative things so... distinctly.
He did appreciate her efforts to backtrack, though his feelings, despite evidence to the contrary, were not so easy to hurt as that. He understood that she was just trying to figure out, and justify, what they were. Knights were a strange case, with their Order aligned starseeds and their different rules than the Senshi.
For now, he would not vocalize their link with the Negaverse, as he had learned it through Lina. He would not talk about that at all, in fact, for a little while. Maybe because he was not ready to, or he somehow hoped he could save her, bring her back to their side.
There had to be some way.
"No, as far as I know we do not have any bonds," he said, not in the conventional sense. He felt bonded to every senshi, of course, in his own way. But that was just a reckless sense of duty that he had always had, even before being a knight. He did remember meeting a cavalier, and understood what she was referencing.
"I think that makes sense. I dont know much about other universes, but if we were needed in this realm, here on Earth, then here we are." He was not helping her generalizations, but then, it was a little more than he ever had to wrap his head around.

Zia watched his pouting with unamused, pursed lips and looking half a glance away from rolling her eyes out of her head, but she did concede and dropped ti cigarette to the street and stepped on it with a 'happy now?' sort of gesture. Even though she knew he probably would've dropped it, she could at least until he was gone to light up again.
"Not what I mean, bro, but good to know," She said, crossing her arms while she pondered if she wanted to dredge up Zirconia's memories to go in depth on a senshi-cavalier bond and decided it wasn't worth the effort for now.
"I know! And that's... I guess that's what's so cool about it? Like the Negaverse is a problem here, but not there, so there Earth's soldier's are the Prince's guard and here you're like this entire force on the other side of the coin. Compensation for an overdose of Chaos, maybe? I don't know, it's pretty amazing." Zia got a little over excited once topics got as large scale as universal properties.
"I heard you could change a negaverser into one of you guys too, which would be really freaking cool, but I've never seen it happen. I think I got a guy I could get to try it out, though. This captain's kind of wrapped around my finger. Fun experiment." Maybe it was cruel to think of her friendship with Realgar as an 'experiment'. That thought never crossed Zia's mind, though.
"Your damsel in distress still alive?" She asked, suddenly realizing she was rambling at him.
