If you've read the novels, then already have a pretty good gist of what the Guild is about and how it will be run. Still debating on whether death should be permanent, but having it like that forces more care into your character so maybe I will. Well anyway the main general plot idea of this Guild will follow it similarly. So once SAO gets finished, characters get shifted to ALO, etc. etc. For now, if you've looked in my Idea Dump, it's just trying to organize thoughts for the most part.

    You can help me out by writing out basic guild rules/etiquette and basic role playing etiquette. That'd take one thing off the list of things I need finished.

Sadly it's only the first two I've read. Haven't been able to get the others in English yet so I'm not super set, though I do know a good bit.

As for permanent death... I'm more inclined to a level drop punishment personally, though that's from a different manga/anime/novel (1/2 Prince), that's just me personally though.

And finally the rules and etiquette, I'll chuck up the obvious in this post as I think of it. (I'll edit new stuff in)


Basic Rules

1. Follow the Gaia ToS
2. All rules should be followed in their spirit not in their exact word. (Don't twist rules to your advantage please)
3. Rules are subject to change over time so please continue to look for updates and occasionally check the list for changes.
4. Please, if a mod makes a ruling do not begin to insult and be rude. Go to another mod and politely request a second opinion.
5. Please treat people with respect, not just the mods but all members.


Role-playing Rules

1. Don't god mod, power play, auto hit or otherwise make yourself incredibly strong or control other's character's at any time without express permission from your partner or partners.
2. Once again do not twist simple rules to your advantage because they say one thing but were written in a different spirit. (Don't twist words)
3. No Canon Characters, Images or References.
4.

1. permanent death will make it extremely hard to get anyone to join the guild.
2. Is it going to be ALO or SAO because you have both in the tags.
3. Dual-wielding shouldn't be limited to one person only.
4. No canon characters, or images of canon character from ALO/SAO should be allowed.

EDITS

5. Dark Repulser shouldn't be added because it was a player-made-weapon and not a Mod Drop.
6. There isn't a need for classes in SAO/ALO because it limits the creativity of the players, which is something that wasn't liked and they weren't actually in the game.

1. permanent death will make it extremely hard to get anyone to join the guild.
2. Is it going to be ALO or SAO because you have both in the tags.

Then again we'll see, everything is still a work in progress.

2. It's going to start as SAO and eventually (whenever we clear Final Boss) translate into ALO and then even GGO and finally UW. This is of course over a long term course.

3. Dual-Wielding was a Unique Skill, so there was only 1 Owner. There were several other Unique Skills that weren't officially shown, but were mentioned that will be present. There will be several opportunities for members to earn a Unique Skill for their character. Then again a character doesn't need a Unique Skill to be amazing, look at people like Asuna and Klein.

4. That's something myself, and those I've RPed with before are used to, so I had already assumed that there would be no canon characters, images, or references, but thank you for your input. c:

5. Dark Repulser is mentioned as a point of reference for weapons to be created within the Guild. Yeah, it won't be around because it was crafted by Lisbeth, but something like Midnight Reaver could be crafted by someone in our guild with similar stats at a high enough level.

6. Classes aren't really set in stone, more for an outline of how a character holds itself, the suggested skills to train, equipment to have etc.

1. I see where you going with that, but I've been in a guild that did something similar to that, and it died very quickly. It's not about the EXP or items, it is about the bonds a character makes with other characters. Death is something that is reasonable in a guild, but for the sake of having a fun Rp I suggest we take the ALO route where they go back to their home territory and loose some EXP.

2. Alrighty. I see good things and bad things with that, but I'll discuss them when we switch.

3. I understand that but like for my first point for the sake of having fun in an Rp I'd say start with it being only 1 person, and if the guild grows exponentially increase it to maybe 2 or 3 people.

4. Just something I've seen even in the elite guilds.

5. Just making sure...I've seen people allow similar things in other guilds and revolts happening because of it.
