Dhaifu was pretty damned bored, to put it lightly. He wasn't in the mood to hunt, nor he was he hungry enough to force himself to. He wasn't tired, so sleeping was out of the question, and overall he was just being a lazy guy today so walking wasn't really his cup of tea either.

Instead he'd chosen to lie in the sun, allowing the warm afternoon sun to soak into his coat, causing warmth to spread across his relaxed body. If you would have asked him - this was the life, lying around without a care in the world ... what could be better?

Well he knew quite a few things that could be better, but so far in his life he'd been settled to being alone. Something he'd grown accustomed to over the years as he traveled alone, are alone, and slept alone. Though if he were being honest with himself, he had to admit something was missing. But when you've never seen the hole, how can you say for sure that a piece is missing?

A loud purr erupted from his throat as he rolled over onto his back, allowing his belly the opportunity to soak up the sun. Lucky for him, he had surveyed his sunning spot earlier in the day, otherwise he might be in for some not so fun surprises.

Though ... whether he had done a good surveying job was still to be determined.

Her laughter erupted out of her, breaking the silence of the area. Her paws reaching into the air, though her claws stayed completely sheathed as she danced around on her hind legs, pawing playfully at a butterfly who seemed to be in on the game as well.

As the butterfly flew higher, she danced and stretched reaching for it, when it drew closer to her, she laughed and recoiled her efforts, she didnt notice another soul but she didnt care of anyone saw her either.

Dhaifu jolted from his relaxed position on his back, to something a little more alert on his belly. His ears were perked, he knew he'd heard something, or was he simply imagining things?

No, he'd definitely heard something, almost sounded like laughter but he'd check the area earlier and found no one, who could possibly be laughing?

As always curiosity seemed to have gotten the better of him, and crawling to his feet once more, the male followed the trail of giggles. Though faint, he was sure that's what they were.

The more he followed, the closer they seemed to get, until at last something caught his eye. A stunning beauty of a female, with her coat the colors of the sky. It was quite a sight to behold watching her giggle and chase the small butterfly into the skies. It almost seemed as if she were reaching for the sky.

Smiling quietly, Dhaifu brought his paws under him and lie down once more. This time quietly observing the female who seemed to have grasped his attention so thoroughly.

His scent was picked up on the breeze, but she didnt stop until the butterfly finally flew higher than she could reach and fluttered away, she paused and stared up at it with a gentle smile. "Another day then my friend." She said with a nod of her head.

Azu was an easy going lioness, with a great passion for life. She had fought claw and tooth to survive for as long as she had and she wouldnt let anyone ruin what she'd come to love..but at times she felt the pang of lonesome, she longed for someone to share her life with.

"I imagine your friend has many brilliant stories to tell. Have you ever listened to any?" Eyeing the female in a very strange way, he couldn't quite place his paw on why he was so drawn to her. Her pelt was simply gorgeous, but perhaps it was her childlike innocence that had intrigued him so?

"The butterfly I mean, you called him your friend didn't you?" Dhaifu asked the question with solid curiosity in his eyes, he was a bit slow, so he hadn't yet caught on that she was simply being polite.

"Sorry, please forgive me rudeness, I am Dhaifu'Nafsi. But you my lady may call me whatever you wish."

She turned and laid her gaze on him, she smiled kindly. "I would love to listen to one of my friends stories, I'm sure its filled with adventure and all the wonders of a great story." She nodded her head before she padded a bit closer, sitting down to rest her paws for a moment she smiled.

"Dhaifu will work just fine, my name is Azu." She bowed her head slightly before she smiled once again. He looked like a kind enough lion, and even if he wasnt there was no reason for her to be careful at the moment, nothing about him sent her alarms chiming.

She wiggled her toes in the grass, she wondered if she'd ever find someone worthy enough to know her real name. Only her sons knew her true name and she didnt want to leave this world without sharing it with that special someone...if she ever had a special someone.

Dhaifu smiled innocently at her words and simply nodded in agreement. "I'm sure its filled with things we could only imagine. Having such large wings, imagine the places it has traveled ... and the things it has seen..." For a moment his voice faded as he himself slipped into a bit of imagination. If ever asked he would tell everyone how jealous he was of the winged creatures of the world. With wings so large, how could someone not envy them?

Bringing himself back to reality, he was relieved to note that he hadn't missed the female's name. "Azu? Hmm short and simple. I like that." He grinned in her direction happy to have bumped into someone calm, and sweet for a change.

"So what's your story Azu? Such a lovely lioness out here in these lands all alone? It doesn't make sense to me! Surely someone out there is looking for you?" He was in a way trying to lead the question, but he didn't want it to seem direct. Naturally he wanted to know if she had a mate. Otherwise he could be in for a world of hurt later!

"Forgive me if i'm intruding. It isn't my intention at all."

"The stories heard from others, the places, the others met! Oh the possibilities are endless when the sky is your mistress.." She says with an excited nod, she is a rather friendly lioness and she enjoys the company of those like minded.

"And thank you, Im sure theres more mouthful to it but Azu is what I go by." She nods her head, not even the father of her sons knew her full name. She laughs, "Oh Im sure Im being looked for, but thats a story for another time." Her mother, she was hunting for that daughter that didnt die like she was supposed to. "I've four full grown sons wandering about the lands, though they are hunting for their own lives now. I find myself once more wandering alone.." She smiled at him, "What about you Dhaifu? Surely you've a family waiting for you.."

Dhaifu decided to take Azu's words at face value, if she promised to tell the story at another time. Then who was he to push her? It merely excited him to know that perhaps there would be 'another time.'

Tail slightly wagging, he listened to Azu's soft words as she explained of her children, now having left the nest to seek a nest of their own. Her tone seemed to ooze sadness and loneliness, but he would not dare prod into her personal feelings. Unless she were the type to open up to him first.

"Sadly I have no such thing. I am constantly on the move, following where wind leads me. Not many lionesses would find that life very fulfilling, so here I stand as alone as you are." He frowned at his words, hardly realizing the effect the words could have. But it only took a moment for them to sink in. He quickly clapped a paw to his mouth and shook his head.

"Excuse me, that was very forward and rude of me to say. I merely meant to equate my current situation to the one you described of yourself."

Azu's smile softened, she understood how he felt completely. She enjoyed the traveling life, she loved the sense of adventure and honestly it was safer for her to be on the move than to settle down in one place.

"I love the adventure of traveling, of each day being something new to explore." She danced slightly, she loved to explore new places. "Even when my sons were cubs, we rarely rested in the same place twice. They learned so much and have knowledge of the land that some will never have." She adored her sons, it was clear but at the same time she was ready for the next chapter in her life to start.

Dhaifu offered a faint smile as Azu went on to explain her life with her cubs, it reminded him of the life he'd lived himself. The travel, while very exciting, could also leave one yearning for something more. It definitely had that effect on him, though he couldn't speak for her children.

"That knowledge is invaluable to those who can not have it. I've run into many lions who lack even the easiest of those skills. It really is a shame." Lowering his head, he shook it slightly as if saddened by his own words.

"It seems we share quite a few of them same ideals. I like that about you." Dhaifu took a step closer, all the while laughing as he enjoyed his view of her dances. "I wonder if you would mind traveling with me? Seeing the world together? No longer being alone? It seems like a lovely experience, wouldn't you say?"

He tried his best to offer her the friendliest smile he could. But his heart was beating nearly out fo his chest. He knew he'd only known her a short time, but already it felt like he knew her.

She stared at him silently for a long moment, his question seemed to have a double meaning, she knew it did. But as she eyed him slowly, her smile never faltered, was this what she had been waiting for? Someone who wanted the adventure as much as she, who loved the life she loved as well?

Yes.

She didnt know if it would last, it never seemed to, the gods cursing her to only get a taste of the love she longed for, but yes, she would take this and give it her all and even if it didnt last, she'd look back fondly upon their time together.

"Yes." Her answer just a hushed whisper, her smile slowly growing. She could only accept such an offer. Her whole body hummed with the peace of it, the happiness of her choice.

It seemed like an eternity passed before she finally answered his question. And in that time a million different scenarios passed through his mind. What if she thought him a creep? What if she ran? Screamed and called for help?

But no, instead she had agreed, with a happy and excitable yes. Dhaifu's jaw nearly hit the floor as she happily accepted his request.

"Really? Perfect!" The words caught in his throat as he began to do a small dance all his own. "I can not tell you how happy I am to hear you say that word!" Again he moved closer to her, this time he could reach out and touch her if he so chose.

"So to where will our feet take us first Azu?"

Touchy.

She could be described as touchy...She was the first to make contact, she didnt brush against him, oh no..nor did she nuzzle him, yet. Instead she pounced him and tugged playfully as his mane.

With a chunk of it clearly in her mouth she pondered over his question, happily she just laid there, flopped against him. "Hmmm..Have you ever seen the stars on a clear desert night?"

He hadn't expected what came next, not by a long shot. But when it happened, he imagined he couldn't have been happier if he tried. Instead of fighting back, or giving unwanted affection towards the female he allowed her to tackle him, and even to nibble away at his mane. It was .. oddly comforting.

Chuckling happily he listened for Azu's anwer, quite curious as to where the two's first adventure together would lead them. And when he finally heard it, he was more excited than ever before.

"You know ... I can't really say that I have." He began to purr lazily, lying on his back and enjoying the space the two shared.

This was bound to be an amazing adventure.
