Sha chose the bed near the window. He's not a real messy kid but neither is he super neat, he tends to have a place for everything, but sometimes his laundry throws a revolt and his boxers wind up on the ceiling fan and his books, papers, and miscellaneous stuff piles a bit on his furniture until he puts it away. He also has a bit of a hard time keeping his stuff on his own side of the room since he dormed alone for quite a while.

Stupid school administration. "Your new room mate is coming in today between 2pm and 5pm. Stay in your room and help out. Be good." Ridiculous. One, he was always good. Two, at least he'd managed to reign in all of his stuff to free up the other side of the room. Wrangling his boxers had not been easy, he wouldn't be surprised if some rogue pairs were hiding on the other side. Three, it was way too pretty to be stuck inside waiting for three hours.
Even laying sprawled out on his bed curling his tail and reading his star wars novel was boring when he could be dragging Trae outside to show him the maze he'd mapped way back when.
It wasn't that Sha minded the idea of a room mate. No, he was more then pleased to share his space with someone else. The trouble is, he'd wanted Trae for a room mate, and he was stuck with some "Lube" sounding dude neither of them had ever met.
One part of him was thrilled to meet someone new, gain another friend. But really he got on so well with Trae he kind of was really looking forward to sharing space with him, even if he could nag like an old woman sometimes.
"Meeeeeeeh." He announced to the room and he let the book fall over his face. Maybe he'd lay here and sleep.

Blake stood in front of the door to his dorm staring at it with certain intensity. He had seen it once, just very quickly with his father to assess what he would need to be getting. However he still had yet to meet his roommate, and the idea of having to move in and live with a stranger made his stomach feel tight and churning. He'd been full of dread about it for week. Yet here he was, in front of the door with a good chunk of his stuff in boxes lined along the wall, waiting to be carried in. There was no putting it off anymore, he had to open the door.
Taking a big breath before letting it all out at once he opened the door and swung it open quickly, almost like he thought that would make it less painful, like pulling off a band-aid quick instead of slow. He looked around and and couldn't miss the shock of red hair and the rest of the person attached on one of the beds, even with a book over his face.
Blake all but jumped out of his skin, eyes going wide. For some reason he assumed the room would be empty and he'd be free to settle into his new environment without having to meet his roommate at the same time too. He darted out back into the hallway to lean against the wall and steady himself. Though it was unsuccessful as he instantly started to panic again realizing how weird him just darting out of the room was. He hurriedly picked up a box and then made his way back into the doorway.
"Hello."

Blake was met by a single red eye peeking over the edge of the star wars novel. Where the other eye should have been was a great black void that looked like it was swallowing not only his eye socket but some of his cheek till it faded out into black skin. One of the red eyebrows was raised questioningly.
Sha himself was really amused and puzzled. Did his new room mate seriously just fling the door open and hurry in, only to whip right back out the door? What was going through his mind? What did he even look like? He'd been gone so fast that Sha hadn't had time to remove the book. He was about to get up and follow him into the hallway when the guy returned. Holy mother of that's good and holy his room mate was pink. Not Trae pink. But that was definitely pink. Hell yes.
"Hey." He answered what sounded like a frustrated greeting. "I'm Sha. Need any help with your boxes?" The book was removed the rest of the way and a friendly grin replaced it. He resisted commenting on the pinkness. He could still remember the sting Trae'd given him at their first meeting for daring such a comment.

Blake was pleased that Sha gave him a friendly greeting and didn't seem to notice how he fled the room earlier. Or at least wasn't going to comment on it. Blake wasn't picky.
"Nice to meet you Sha." He gave a bit of a shy smile. His eyes flicked over to observe the void filled with smoke where Sha's eye should be but didn't stare. It made him wonder what kind of powers Sha might have. "I guess I could use the help. There's not that many though." Blake shrugged a bit and he set his own box on the other bed. "So... whatever you want to do."

"Meh, I was bored anyway." Sha said tossing his book back onto his bed as he sat up, stretched his wings and sauntered over to help him with the boxes. "So, excited for starting school here?" he asked, picking up the heaviest looking box.

It suddenly dawned on Blake now that he was settling the box in on the bed and not panicking, that he had heard the name 'Sha' somewhere before. He tilted his head and peered up at a high spot on the wall until it clicked. Sha was the name of the boy Trae said he was friends with. Blake trotted out, following Sha back out into the hallway and picking up another box.
"Mm..." He gave a thinking noise. "Yeah I guess. I was home schooled before and I liked that... but... Dad's girlfriend thinks this'll be good for me, and he seems to agree." Blake looked a little grumpy about it indicating that he wasn't really excited, more just putting up with the circumstances. He gave a glance back to Sha though.
"Though... um do you happen to know someone named Trae? He mentioned knowing a Sha here." Not that Sha was a common name to Blake's knowledge but one could never be sure.

"Parents suck. It's a given." Sha said rolling his one eye at the idea of some dude putting a girl over his own kid. Man, humans. He could live without them forever.
"And yeah, you know Trae? That's kinda amazin'. He usually refuses to socialize unless I drag him out. He's my best friend. It's really cool he found another pink guy to hang with. You two should form a club." He paused. Oh s**t. He'd just said the P word. Trae'd kill him. "Uuuh nevermind on the pink thing, Trae'd kill me for bringing it up the first time I ever even met you. He stung me so bad the first time I met him." He winced in memory. "Do not mess with that kid's hair. So can we pretend I didn't say a single thing about it? Oh man I'm just digging myself deeper here."
Sha put the box he was carrying on Blake's bed and went to thunk his head against the wall. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Blake had been all ready to point out that Crow didn't actually suck that much but then Sha went on to stick his foot right in his mouth and bring up the big forbidden word with Blake. PINK. He started to get all offended by it and puff up but then there was Sha over there beating his head against the wall. Blake tilted his head a bit, puzzled. Going over closer he quickly darted his hand between Sha's head and the wall.
"Stop that." He pushed Sha's head away from the wall before drawing his hand back. "I'll forgive you this time but only because you're friends with Trae." He hesitated a moment. "And also because you're my roommate and I want us to get along... But don't think you'll get away with mentioning the word all the time." He puffed his cheeks out in slight annoyance before relaxing a bit.
"Anyway I met Trae on the playground... we were both trying to avoid loud people." Come to think of it Sha was there too. He hadn't been SO loud, Blake supposed he could handle Sha.

Sha felt the hand between the wall and his stupid head and was glad that the pink kid had stopped him. It would suck to be sporting a bruise on his forehead. He'd look a complete dunce.
"Okay." He said when ordered to stop. "And Trae's my best friend. I'm glad you like him enough to not pulverize me into little pieces for pulling out the "P" word. Even if I don't understand why that color's such a big deal. I really want to get along with my room mate too." He grinned, friendly and strangely shy as though he couldn't quite handle the idea of not being liked by someone who liked his best friend. Blake handled the pink issue so much better then Trae had. What a cool kid.

It surprised Blake a little to see the hint of shyness from Sha. This roommate was just full of surprises. He blinked a little and then offered Sha a smile.
"Well... I think if we both want to get along then, it'll be good right?" He turned to go get another box, there were just two more to bring in.
"But I guess I don't like the "P" word because a lot of people see pink and think girl or girly and... I'm not." He paused thoughtfully. "There's nothing wrong with being one but, I know I'm not a girl or girly and I don't like it when people assume." He sounded a little grumpy about it, perhaps indicating that this had been an issue for him before and he just didn't want to deal with it anymore. He really didn't and so he decided to go for a change of topic.
"Was that a star wars book you were reading?"

"Well I've got to admit that teasing Trae about his shade of red is hilarious and I will never willingly stop doing it. He knows it's out of love." He gave a wince, "And he knows I've felt the wrath of his hair. Man he may be pinker then anything but he's no push over, that's for certain."
"And it's the one where Princess Leia and Han Solo kinda work out their issues just after episode six."Sha said. "They go to this world that's the homeworld of the rancors. You know the thing that was under Jabba the Hut's thrown thingy? And the world is full of amazonian women. It's great."

Blake listened to Sha as he brought in the second to last box and settled in on the bed. He had no idea what Sha was talking about in regards to the wrath of Trae's hair but to stay on the subject invited more discussion of the forbidden color. Star Wars was a much safer topic.
"I've never read any of them though I've wanted too." He started pulling the tape off the boxes he'd already brought in, assuming Sha would bring in the last one. "Usually too busy reading comics to have time for them. It does sound interesting though. Amazon women hm...." He wasn't really sure how he felt about that. Sure Wonder Woman was pretty cool but... Amazons were kinda scary sounding to him. Probably because women for the most part seemed like a foreign species.
