Upon a simple wooden table sits a brightly colored woolen journal. Though small and light, it is filled to the brim with ideas, blurbs and daily babbles. The hand writing is legible, though written a little fast, and the ink is a pleasing, dark blue color. It sits clean, loved and seems to eagerly await the author who adorns it's pages so cheerfully.

Early 2012 - I don't know what's happening, but Allen went missing. Gavin went to go look for him about a week ago and hasn't called... I'm frightened. I can't imagine what could have happened to them...
Mid 2012 - Well, my parents haven't returned. Even worse, my entire extended family seems to have vanished along with them. My cousin Spencer, Creea's son, is old enough to take care of most of us here and offered me a home in a nearby city. I'm not sure if I should go, I mean... Why would i want to leave the home and town I've been raised in? ...I just... I just don't know...
August 2012 - I tried to live with Spencer for a little while and now they need to move even further away from my home town! This is something I can't do, I need to be back in a familiar setting... Even if it may not be as familiar as I recall it being. I've decided to go back to the Metamorphosis Academy, the place where I was born, and live there in the dormitories. I may not be with my siblings, where I desperately want to be, but I feel that it's best for me right now. Maybe somewhere along the lines I can ask if my youngest siblings can move in with me so they'll have a safe place to grow... Oh, well... I suppose we'll see. School starts next month!
September 2012 - Sooo... I barely remember anything about this place! Everything is soooooo different after all these years! I don't recognize ANYONE! Oof, what have I gotten myself into?! I've never been so frightened...
11/18/12 - I finally got to organizing today! I've been here a month and I haven't done anything! It's so quiet here... I really wish one of my siblings were here... Maybe I should try leaving my room, maybe then I wouldn't feel so lonely...

Overall Personality
Valeria is the sweet, eccentric girl with seemingly endless amounts of energy. Though calm and simple at first glance, Valeria will always surprise you again and again with her charming grin and bubbly giggles. She has a way of presenting herself that borderlines on happy and hyperactive, but it never hinders on her being understood and sociable. If you happen to be sad and without a friend, Valeria would gladly take time out her day to hang out with you. She has a deep set taste for all things scary, crazy and outlandish, something that most find quite startling if they aren't fully acquainted with her.
Valeria has a nervous, eager to please mantra lingering within her optimism. This mantra mutters the ideas "I will do anything and everything to help those I care for.", "If I fail, there is something gravely wrong with me" and "If I am rejected by anyone, then I must work my hardest to become good in their eyes, or else I fail." Though only a soft whisper at the present point, Valeria responds to it as if it is a mega phone in her ear. She will do anything to make you happy, keep you happy, and will do so until she either drops from the stress or exhaustion. Depression, anxiety and disrespect for herself ultimately come as a result from this issue.
The Good
Kind - Valeria will treat you the way you would want to be treated, with kindness and respect. It's very hard for her to not be kind to everyone and everything, you'd need to chop her hair off or shove her down the stairs for her to even consider hating you, let alone disliking you.
Friendly - Valeria greets everyone with a smile. Even if she doesn't want to stop for a chat, she'll smile, wave and greet you no matter how she feels. She's conscious of boundaries, though, and knows when to keep her distance and knows who likes to be hugged at different points of the day.
Optimistic - She's no "sunshine and rainbows" girl, but Valeria's got a lot of hope and determination to go around. It's hard to dampen her spirits, especially on a sunny day, and she greets each day with open arms. However, she respects personal preference, and doesn't run around shouting "Everyone should be happy!" like a lunatic.
Eccentric - Boing, boing, boing! Valeria's always got some form of energy going on. Whether it be creative, knowledgeable, happy, or beyond crazy, Valeria has more than enough energy to use, spread, and release no matter what time of day it is. This means she always has something on her mind...
Open minded - Valeria isn't a picky girl! Do you want to watch an opera in German? She'd love to watch it with you, with or without popcorn! Do you want to try some foreign food that no one else wants to eat? Valeria would be all over that! Do you need someone to baby sit your pet tarantula? Call Valeria! Just be sure to remind her that you will be taking the spider back, or else she'll want to keep it forever.
The Bad
Nervous/Anxious - Valeria is prone to periods of anxiety and irrational fears as a result of being abandoned. Though these "bouts" don't last very long, they are are commonplace. One month she might be perfectly fine, but the next month she might suddenly become a homebody and shake with fear instead of hyperactivity for about a week. They don't really have a trigger either, so they're very random and can come at unwanted times.
Insomniac/Manic - Almost every night, Valeria is up drawing, watching movies or staring aimlessly out into the night. This problem has been going on for many years and her body has grown accustomed to the lack of sleep, thus, this is an all too normal thing for her to do. Now she's a regular night owl and getting less than six hours of sleep is common. In fact, getting six hours of sleep for her is uncommon, but not as rare as getting seven hours.
Clumsy - Though not as bad as when she was little, Valeria has a clumsy side to her. It's best not to give her a breakable object to carry or allow her to run down a flight of stairs without stopping her. She will fall and injure herself in some way, you can almost guarantee it.
"Failure is not an option" - Valeria has a borderline phobia of failure and will send herself through a loop if she fails at virtually anything. From tests to messing up on a field goal, Valeria secretly damns herself for the littlest things, and you probably will never realize she does it. She's perfected the "grin and walk away" technique as a way of coping with the event as it happens, then once behind closed doors, she'll verbally abuse herself.
"All I do, I do it for you"/"I will do anything for love" - At her worst, Valeria craves acceptance and the love and care of those around her. If she gets rejected socially, it doesn't have to be a crush, Valeria immediately focuses on figuring out what went wrong and trying to find a way to fix it. She needs people in her life and when she's deep in an anxious spell, she will become desperate for someone to be at her side. Be it a hug, a conversation or a phone call, Valeria will do anything for it, even if it means degrading herself or stealing. Once she's older, romance will play more of a role in this part of her personality. As of right now, being rejected by a crush would make her very nervous and perplexed. "What did I do?" "What didn't I do?" "Maybe he didn't hear me right..."
Pastimes
Video Games - Valeria is OBSESSED with video games. Be it Dance Dance Revolution or Mortal Kombat, Valeria has played it and probably beaten it. But don't worry, she isn't too competitive, you can join her without fear of being slammed and humiliated.
Music/Singing - Music was a major part of Valeria's upbringing. Her fathers looooved techno, Nightcore and anything with a up beat, crazy feel to it, and Valeria definitely carried that vibe on as she grew. However, you could hear her listening to anything under the sun. She likes The Beatles, The Dubliners and Britney Spears just as much as she likes Sarah Mclachlan, Green Day, and music from the Broadway show Les Miserables. (Look them all up and listen. Especially The Dubliners. >w>)
Allen, her previous guardian, had a beautiful singing voice, something that Valeria admired. She picked up a ballad-pop-like voice from practicing with him. Her singing voice isn't fully developed and it isn't stunning, but she chooses to sing when she misses her father. She feels that when she sings, she brings her father's spirit closer to hers.
Poetry - Valeria's an aspiring poet. She often writes little blurbs about birds, bugs and nature but she has dabbled with some love poems in the past. Poetry is her way of writing her ideas down and keeping them for later, something that she has to do quite often in order to keep her head from swelling it the brim with unaddressed ideas.

My Memories

Baby Alexander came home from the hospital with my father. He was so shy, he didn't even know if he wanted hugs! Well, of course he did, every baby does. He just needed me to show him that not all hugs hurt... I wish I could have brought him with me...
Andy and Adriel were my age when they joined our family. They were happy to be out of the orphanage they had been placed in. Though they were trouble makers, I felt very close to them. ...I hope they're okay...
Eileen, Ivan, and Ian were adopted last. Eileen was a fussy toddler that I really didn't get to connect with... I regret that... Ivan and Ian were in a foster home together and acted like brothers. They were very attached to me, especially Ivan. ... I don't know where they are now...

Journal Entry: 1
Hey, it's Valeria! So, Today is Monday, November 26th. I've been staying in the academy for a little over a month now and... I haven't left my dorm. Yeah, pathetic right? I mean, the dorm's awesome and perfect and nothing has broken or anything but... But... I need to leave it! I haven't seen a single living being since I moved in and I'm so so so so soooooo soooooooooooooooo lonely! Video games can only do so much, you know!
Ugh, and Thanksgiving passed by. My first Thanksgiving spent alone. A-lone. A-lo-ne. ALOOONE. OH, I HATE THAT WORD! ALONE! ALONE! AAAAALLLLOOOOONNNNE! I'M ALONE! AUGH! ... I hate being alone. But, I'm too afraid to not be alone. My brain and my body have never felt so sick before! I want a hug from someone! I want to hear someone else speak to me! Oooooaaaaaahhhhrggggh! This is so difficult! Being alone is so difficult!
Hmn... Maybe I just need to suck it up. I'm almost a teenager and I'm still a cry baby! ... But dad always said that emotions need to be expressed, and he's never steered me wrong, so... Being tough is wrong? ...No, no. Being resilient is wrong? Noooo, nooooo. Should I reach out? Should I deal with this on my own? Aaaaaargh! I don't know! I just... I just don't know!

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! SO MUCH GOOD HAS HAPPENED I CAN'T CONTAIN MY SQUEE! I CAN'T I CAN'T I CAAAAAAAAAAN'TTTTT! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Is it bad that I just knocked over half of the stuff off of my shelves and broke things because I'm so happy? PROBABLY! B-BUT I AM HAAAAPPYYYY!
MAN. WHERE HAVE I BEEEEN?! My dad would not be proud of how sad I've been! He'd be all "No, no, no! Smile, it suits you much better!" and I'd be all "Yeah, yeah! I know! Watch me smile, daddy!" and he'd be all "That's my girl!" and I'd be all... SQUEEEEE! You probably have no idea what I'm so excited about! IT'S HUUUUGE! I don't know where to begin! ...
I just smacked straight into my dresser. I need to take a chill pill.
So, yeah! I went to this event that was organized by a nice lady named Moira and she was giving out gifts and stuff. But, I didn't want very much, so she did something AWEEESOOOMMME! Can you guess? CAN YOU GUESS?! ... No, you're a journal, that would be silly if you could... BUT STILL! SHE FOUND ALEX! SHE FOOOOOOOUND ALEX! MY BABY BROTHER! YEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I smuggled him into my dorm last night and he's asleep right now 'cause it's like four in the morning and I shouldn't be awake and yeah... HE'S CUUUTE! I want to keep him here, but I'm afraid that Nova may get cross with me. (She's the angel dorm lady, she takes care of me... Don't know what to think of her just yet...)
Okay, okay, that wasn't all I had left to squeal about! I met someone else at the party, a relative I didn't know about. His name is Morpheus and, apparently, my grandpa Marcus adopted him while they were looking for my dads... They were looking for Alex and I first but met him and couldn't leave without him. However... It turns out that they left and had Morpheus destroy the portal system so they could never come back and we could never go see them... Morpheus was very blunt about them leaving but looked sad. I bet he misses them, I sure do. But, he was more concerned about Alex and I, and decided that he would take us in once he was old enough to do so. I'm excited! Alex and I have a home with our "uncle" Morpheus. That's awesome!
I guess I found a way to deal with the feelings I have about my family crisis, too. There is an evil force possessing humans in the town here and I've been chosen out of many to fight them! SWEET! MORTAL COMBAT FAME HERE I COME! Eh, heh heh... I'm hoping that one of these evil scumbags had something to do with ruining my life, because I'm about to ruin theirs! MINI ARROWS, GET READY TO FIIIIRRREEE!
Ah! Here are some other things to note before I forget. I made some friends despite being so locked away. There's a fairy girl named Marisol who I've become close to! She was adopted and then left in the academy a few months later... Why is that so common? I feel bad for her, even if she is a little... Er... Prideful. She became friends with two other girls named Lydia and Olivia who, because of her wings, deemed her as their sister! Eventually I was roped in as an honorary, as was Alex, and I think they're adorable! Last but not least I met a sweetheart of a boy named Asher who took to Alex like a bee to honey! He's a little rough but I'm sure that's because he was abandoned like Marisol was, which is sad. Heeeehee! I think I've become some sort of "den mother" like the ones in girl scouts! I hope I can handle them all! Maybe Morpheus can help me once he gets better acquainted with the two girls that have taken refuge in his home while he was away. So far, he has no idea how to deal with the one that screams a lot and the other is always trying to apologize for nothing. (Maybe he could use my help, eh journal?)
